Well feels like has climbed to 107 BUT it says there was a lightning strike 21 miles away so maybe a T-Storm is coming to break up this heat. Would normally wait till much later in the evening to run, but I have company coming tonight.

Just be careful on your run! Don't want to get struck by lightning or pass out from dehydration!
I'm not going out til I get out of work at 5:30, so maybe it'll have dropped a couple degrees by then, lol.0 -

Oh, I get off work soon, but probably will have to make today a rest day. 107 is asking a bit much

Did my second 60-minute run today; actually a couple minutes over because I wanted to get to 5.5 miles. Average pace 11:15 so just a bit faster than last one. I was feeling so good running today. Just because.
My next run is another 60-minute run, and then the full 10k. I'm close!
June goal: 24.55 / 5011 -

KatieJane83 wrote: »This might be a silly question, but is there a particular hill length and/or grade range to aim for when doing hill repeats? Or is it whatever you can handle/feel like/mimics race course conditions you're training for?
I live in Florida where everything is flat, and in an urban area so it's not like I have regular trails available to me. However, I do have the Pinellas Trail, which is a paved trail that follows the old railroad line through the county. Bridges were built along the trail wherever the trail crosses a busy highway. I use one of those bridges for my hill sprints. So, my distance is the ramp up the bridge.1 -
Well, it just keeps getting worse for me here in June.
First it was the whole race debacle. Then my back. Then the road rash from the fall. And NOW... my hip is acting up again. It started last night... the pain was pretty bad so I sat under the heating pad for a while and then stretched the crap out of it. Feels somewhat better today but I didn't want to risk it so I did not run this morning. Maybe that's a good thing because NOW my IBS is acting up big time. Someone please make it stop....
Bowling tonight (yes, I am going), then I will try to make it out tomorrow morning, assuming there is no thunderstorm like there might be. Maybe something else will happen, like a plague of locusts.1 -
Oh bless you @RespectTheKitty !0

I believe hail comes before the locusts, so you might get your thunderstorm yet!!3 -
70f here, just had a thunderstorm though, so it's steamy0

All this talk of weather... I lived in Coronado, CA for 10 months. I don't think it rained the entire time I lived there and the weather was always perfect for running! Low humidity and never too hot. I sure do miss it.

Well, the heat broke here (it is actually 69 now!) but was replaced by a thunderstorm with hail and 60mph winds. Still not ideal running conditions.
The good news is I do not have to head to work tomorrow so I can get up and run before it is hot.3 -

Oh yuck. So sorry to hear all this. Go bowling and enjoy yourself. And if locusts come, you will just have to out run them is all.0 -
