On a side note, I use a Samsung Gear Fit 2 and have stumbled upon instructions to install the MFP app on my device. In doing so, I was rewarded with a free 1 year subscription to MFP Premium.
I've seen where some other posters here have (or had) MFP Premium, so here is my question: What in particular are the perks that you enjoyed? What did you find beneficial?
I am curious as to where I should explore and where I needn't waste my time.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Until next time; wishing everyone Peace , Love and Weight Loss !!
Anyone else remember using the ticker??
Robin, I have MFP Premium and these are the features I like
1-being able to track exercise goals without having them add to my allowed calories.
2-seeing macros by percentages or grams quickly and easily
3-seeing macros by meal
4-no ads
5-newsletter (blogs) come to my email and also to my newsfeed.
There are nifty features regarding how exercise calories are/aren't distributed and you can also set different calorie goals by day I don't use them because I don't weight train but if I did then I would use that feature to increase my allowance on workout days.
PS ... I love the ticker but I think you only see it on your profile page on the pc version. Cause I'm temporarily on a smartphone and mine doesn't show up on it.1 -

@RobinB0812 if for no other reason, I love the premium because it doesn't have any ads!!! Has other neat things too, but the reason I actually got it was to get rid of all the ads that constantly slowed my computer down.4

Despite a week of camping food debauchery, still in maintenance range. Feeling pretty happy about that!
BTW, @happygirlxxx - since my personal goal is to maintain (not lose) weight, I'm worried about possibly scewing the group's numbers in some way by my weekly ups and downs. Maybe it's best if you don't include my weekly stats in the group numbers - unless, of course, my weight totally goes up and out of control (in which case I'll just jump off a cliff ). Reporting to all of you each week does keep me accountable, and that is extremely helpful to me.
Onwards and downwards, my Friends.4 -
I don't typically have time to post outside of Wednesday weigh ins but I find myself with a few extra minutes.
Thursday truth - I always think of this as confessions; to tell the truth is confessing - no? To confess then implies you have done something wrong. I always struggle with this on Thursdays. LOL
Ok, moving on...
@Nikion901 - thanks for the insight on the Premium subscription, I will check those things out. As for the ticker, I embedded it in my post. I wasn't sure if pasting the URL for it would still work. I see it on my cellphone so maybe it's your smartphone that isn't allowing you to see it? Even when you quoted my post, it showed up in the quote.
@bapcarrier - I do like that there are no ads to clog up my newsfeed!
@birgitkwood - Awesome job with maintenance. You are my hero!
@happygirlxxx - Looks like we'll have better number this week!
Until next time; wishing everyone Peace , Love and Weight Loss !!

Thursday Truth ... Yay I got my computer back today instead of next week! Now to get all the missing applications reinstalled and I'll be up and running and then to work on getting my missing data back on it.
Lesson learned ... one backup is not enough. Second lesson learned... type of backup also makes a difference on how successful a restore of data will be.3 -
Evening all, just found this post and thought I'd drop by and say hello3

Thursday truth...
I am struggling!!!! I do not know what changes in my head at times.
Sometimes I can be so good with what i eat and desire to exercise and try hard to lose weight.
And other times...i just want to eat anything and everything i want. And just give in to all my desires. And also not care about exercising at all. Sometimes i dont even want to walk the dogs.
Why does there seem to be a toggle switch in my brain. That i have a hard time controlling.
I so desire to be healthy. But i so desire yummy food. Why or why...is this so difficult!
2 -
@cellosmiles I am exactly the same but what helped me was actually 1st start exercising regularly and then good food choices followed ... why? At least in my case when I started at the gym and was so limited to what I could do due to my overweight (even just walking) that then my brain started clicking that lets choose the salad instead of the triple decker mac n cheese burger burrito (plus side of fries) lol .... I felt horrible not being able to do much (and actually a bit embarrassed to be honest).
On my first month at the gym I gained a pound and I was like what?!!!! After all my effort? It was because I continued eating badly... after that I started making better food choices and loosing... almost 70lbs down, 50 more to go!
BTW if you see my diary I eat a little bit everything, don't limit myself in terms of the what, but I do try to exercise portion control and count calories. My diary for the last 2 months has been crazy because of my relo but now I need to get back to focusing on exercising and eating healthy so I can continue my journey!3 -
Just wanted to pop by and say hi0
-
@cellosmiles - gosh, I can so relate! I always said I feel like there are two women inside my head: the one who has reasonable control over what she eats, and the crazy one who goes completely off the rails and subsists on dorito sandwiches, lol. I never knew from one day to the next which head was gonna be in charge. And when the crazy one raised her ugly head, it was usually for months or years at a time
What @happygirlxxx said was true for me, as well. The exercise comes first. On normal days I roll out of bed and either walk or go to the gym for an hour. That sets the mood for the day. After I've worked that hard first thing, I won't feel like "wrecking" a good day by eating crap. And I track, track, track my calories. In that way I've lost 120 lbs, and I feel (God, PLEEEAASEE!) that maybe I've found the magic formula that gives me control over food. One day at a time.
May the same be true for you! Sending love and good wishes.5 -
Saturday Success: so this one isn't all mine but I helped get him there so I'm just all around proud: my nephew earned his yellow belt in karate today!!!!(it's the Second belt for all the non karate peeps out there) He's only been in class for 3 months and it's only been 3 weeks since he actually decided to nuckle down and practice (with me!!) to be able to be promoted!!! And this is the first time in his 15 years that he has ever earned something like this (he usually just gets a participation trophy in soccer or baseball). It's another example of how life isn't just about participating but about setting goals and working hard to get where we want!!4
