You could be old as dirt like me and watching your double chin turn into wattles, the veins sticking up on the back of your hands, the cellulite formerly hidden by fat now showing as your thigh skin starts to dangle over your knees and your nice round upper arms develop bat wings. When I have lost all I intend to lose, people will stop saying how young I look for my age. They'll give me my senior discount without looking at me funny.

I'm already noticing it's a lot easier to do things like step into and out of the tub. I can clip my toe nails without getting out of breath. I can start wearing rings that have been a little too tight. I have an excuse to spend money on new clothes. I can lord my weight loss over hubby. I may live long enough to outlive our money!

for me "My glass half full"
I can walk all the way up to my boys room (2 flights) without having to catch my breath half way up
Once I am fitter my hubby (older than me) might see the benefits and join me
I can move my furniture and clean a room without having to ask for assistance
I still can't see my weight loss in the mirror, but I sure as hell feel it

Ok, I need help. I've lost over 30 lbs. and just cannot see the difference. As a consequence, I'm feeling down and hopeless about my weight loss. I'm doing all the right things (taking pics, how clothes fit, and measurements; focusing on how I feel; making fitness goals; not over restricting; have taken a diet break, etc.) None of it helps. I'd love to hear how you guys get to the other side when it all seems useless. Thanks all.
I think you are being way to hard on yourself 30 lbs is fabulous!! I haven't had this expirence before and do feel concerned about you. Can you see other positives? Like maybe you can walk up a flight of stairs way easier now or you have more energy? Maybe there are other issues and talking to someone and figuring out your feelings would help (like your doctor)? Are you finding yourself obsessed about your weightloss?4 -

Hello! So I'm new to challenges and posting in them. I want to put in my days weight however not sure what the best way to do it is. Is there no way of editing my original post or do I have to copy and paste and keep adding replies on a daily basis?
Thanks for the help!
You can copy and paste if you'd like, but I personally just hit the quote button, remove everything in the brackets on the first row, and the quote in the brackets at the bottom.3 -

Welcome!
10 pounds in 10 days is a pretty aggressive goal. Setting realistic, attainable goals often leads to success. Unattainable goals usually result in disappointment and can lead to quitting.
A 1% weekly loss would be around 2.5 pounds in 10 days. If you are just starting, 1% may come off quickly, so you could set a goal of double that, or 5 pounds. If you reach that before 10 days is up, by all means adjust your goal!
Whatever works best for you. I just want to see you to succeed and have a good experience in the process!
Hugs!

Came home and found a salmon patty instead with salad and a few sweet potato fries. Didn't follow my plan, but made positive choices.

@nikki062181 how is your finger? That sounds like a nasty fall. I do things like that all the time when trying to hang things in school.
@eyer0ll 30 lbs is something to be proud of! The scale is not lying. You've lost pounds and as you keep going, you will start to see changes. It looks differently in everyone. I've lost 45 lbs now and I thought I would look a lot fitter at my current weight but I still have a lot of fat on my body. But I know if I give up now, I'll undo all the improvements and I won't have the chance to see where I'll be after continuing this lifestyle. Stick it out and you'll see the changes!
@lamacconnell Welcome to the group! I'm a relative newbie (started last round) and it's great checking in here each day!6 -

I now make it a habit to ask what we will be eating on late nights so I can plan it into my calories so I don't have to bring my own food while everyone else is eating catered food. This is now two days in a row that I didn't go to the gym. I was so exhausted. I have to go tomorrow!

@40lbslighter and @HeidiCooksSupper I LOVE your posts.
I can be a bit glass-half-empty at times, but you're absolutely right, it's about health and fitness, about feeling strong and alive. Looks are definitely in the mix too, well for me anyway, but looking after myself and setting the right example for my children, is way more important. Just keep reminding me this every now and then will you?5 -
There will be many events along the way which can scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it will take much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit, if we stick with it! The game continues!
Eat and burn is the path I chose!
Bit by bit, ounce by ounce, it goes.
In all things, moderation!
Focus on determination!
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:Round 16: (Target: 160) Highest, 162.4; lowest, 160.2; Mean, 161.3 It's slow, but I am very happy with the downward trend.- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!
