Dude, I know what you're talking about when you say that the excess weight is making life hard to live. Having lost 170 lbs, I have been there, I remember it.

But here's the most constructive thing I can tell you: trust me, you are going to feel SO MUCH BETTER all along the way, not just at the final destination. After you lose the first 60 lbs, you will really notice how much life has gotten easier.

Focus on short-term goals, and DON'T quibble over whether an ambitious long-term goal is do-able and use a possible "no" as an excuse not to get started. Focus on what you can achieve in the first 3 months. They're the hardest. Don't push yourself too hard, and don't make unreasonable demands on yourself or fall victim to virtue/vice thinking. (You're not "better" if you totally give up "bad" foods, you're not "bad" if you eat a cookie once or twice). Focus on sustainable changes to your lifestyle, which usually means

1) starting just by keeping track of how much you are eating. That means measuring your portions for real (no eyeballing, no guestimating. Use measuring cups if you must -- it's better than your eyeballs -- or use a food scale. Just measure.) I can't tell you how many people on here get frustrated that they're not getting the results they expect but they are utterly unwilling to measure their portions because ultimately they are unwilling to be accountable for how much they eat.

2) Yes, the point of keeping track is so you can eat less. That doesn't mean you have to starve yourself though. When you have A LOT of weight to lose, the problem with eating too little is not metabolism or "starvation mode" blah blah blah, but with motivation. You can keep that up for a few weeks, maybe a few months, but the voice in your head will soon start whispering (then whining, then crying, then shouting) "when will it be over? is it over yet? let's think about what we're going to eat when it's over!" That voice can't be denied for long. It just can't. You're much better off making sure you're eating a) enough food and b) tasty enough food that you don't half-secretly WANT to fail so it can be over sooner. Use an online calorie calculator to set a calorie goal that will allow you to lose about 2 lbs a week. You can argue about whether you should / can lose faster, but I'm just telling you: give yourself room to live a life that includes a reasonable amount of enjoyment. 2 lbs a week deficit is enough that you'll feel it, you'll miss eating / drinking w/o limits, but not so much that you'll make yourself crazy.

3) Gradually introduce new "healthy" foods into your diet to keep things interesting and to discover substitutions for needlessly calorie-dense foods. That doesn't mean you have to start mainlining kale smoothies. Just -- consider trying some kale once. I always liked vegetables, but I find I eat so many different ones now (and I love them) than I used to. Even if dinnertime doesn't include potatoes (still love potatoes!) I can really look forward to a meal with, say, roasted mushrooms: something I never used to think I liked.

After 3 months are up (or even before), re-assess your next goal. How did it go? How did you feel? Did the rate of loss feel right? What's your next 3 month goal? And maybe start thinking about how many 3 month increments it's going to take you to get to a long-term goal, but bear in mind that you'll be re-adjusting many times along the way.

Fantastic start! The average penis size is just under 6inches so the majority of men would agree it's a massive amount to lose haha

Ketosis is not the answer to weight loss. Some people find it helpful but it's not necessary.

There's so much advice , but truth is nobody but you knows your likes and dislikes. To make this sustainable you have to eat in a manner that fits you. Please don't "diet" , food is meant to be enjoyed. All things in moderation.

All foods are breakfast foods! Don’t let preconceived labels limit you. I label my meals #1-6 just for that reason. When I had them labeled as “meals” (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and “snacks” I found myself eating to fit the label. Silly, I know! Now I eat what I want, when I want depending on hunger and what I’m hungry for.
