Didn't get off to the best start yesterday. I was just exhausted from Halloween and was too groggy to make good choices. I'm allowing myself 2 glasses of wine daily, but I poured about twice that last night. I fell asleep before I finished the last glass though, so clearly I should have just gone to sleep! I need to remember that tonight. The kids & I don't get home from practice until after 9 pm and instead of unwinding with a glass of wine, I should go to bed.
Kudos to everyone who met their goals yesterday!5 -
I'm so in! I definitely need to cut down on the wine intake during the week, both for the empty calories and to just use my free time in a more productive manner. I just rejoined MFP yesterday. I have an old account that I used to be really active on but it's been months and months and I've been actively gaining weight for quite some time4

11/1-2 oz rye whiskey
Two ounces of rye whiskey for me last night. This is actually a win because Wednesday night is usually a cocktail night for us because we like to watch Survivor and relax with a few drinks. I held it to one long pour over ice and really enjoyed it. I am going to try to make tonight drink free, although it might be hard because I am making pork chops and I usually like at least one glass of wine with them.
I think if I track my alcohol daily on this thread it will help keep it all in perspective and give me more accountability. There is a monthly runner's thread that tracks like this and it's helpful for motivation to add to it daily so I am hoping this will work similarly.

@lporter229 it's a bit of a myth that cocktails are high alcohol - if you mix them to ratios (1 part of something 2 of another etc) you can reduce the content, and go for long drinks which are topped up with juice or soda water. A pint of lager beer is often three units which most people don't really realise.
I tend to only drink one cocktail if I have one - it's generally enough for me. Beer on the other hand......5 -
I am in! I am hoping this will limit my horrible food choices that are made when I drink wine.5

I’m on a roll. Only indulged once, (Halloween night 2 glasses) in 6 Days. I just try to distract myself during my normal wine time before dinner. Actually if I can eat dinner before I am tempted to drink, I don’t desire my glass of wine on a full belly!! I may allow myself a couple 1 night this weekend.6

I need to try this...4

Love all the motivation in these threads!!
No wine tonight... no wine tonight... no wine tonight.

I was joking with a friend that I need to buy stock in tea companies, because that is my go-to instead of wine now!4

Day 2 successfully finished with no alcohol, although my evening turned into poop, I’m going sans alcohol!

Day 2 - alcohol free tonight as well. Had a lot of hot tea. Went to pour a glass of wine but bottle wasn't open and I thought that was a good thing. Kept busy otherwise. Feeling pretty good today:)2

I’m in for this challenge. Lately, I’ve been drinking 2-3 glasses of wine or cocktails every weeknight (and more on weekends). It’s sabotaging my fitness goals. I plan to go dry until Thanksgiving and cut down after that. So far, so good!5

I'm definitely doing better even with the stress of being away from my home in Puerto Rico for over a month. Today I poured a glass of wine and decided to make myself go for a quick run before drinking it. Self control...it was tough. Good luck everyone.3

I went over today. I had about three and a half glasses. Two at work, and then I found out that my recently evicted tenants tore up my rental house, and I kept sipping wine as I talked to my property manager.1

Yea! Talked myself into a cup of tea instead of wine last night. Would have slept well if my doggo wasn't so excited by the full moon lol4

Hello! Late to the party but I had my last drink last Sunday night. Intended to cut down to just not drinking on 'school nights' i.e. Sunday to Thursday but am thinking I might try to go the this weekend too.
Today is the first morning this week I haven't woken up feeling like I had a mild hang over despite not having a drink. Its taken five days and four nights of no booze to wake up without feeling like I had at least a half bottle of wine. I'd really like to keep it that way and not have to start all over again next week by drinking this weekend!5 -
4 beers and a tequila last night. Justified it by saying it was for the departed / all souls day. Going out and not drinking is much harder than staying in... go figure...3

2 glasses cab last night. But I exercised 30 minutes and hydrated well all day. Down 1/2 pound today. Goal is to stay sober this weekend since I indulged last night. It’s comforting to see there are other women out there in my situation. Thank you.4

11/1-2 oz rye whiskey
11/2-15 oz Pinot Noir
I didn't fare so well last night. My husband was drinking cocktails when I returned from my run. I knew I should not have opened that bottle of wine, but I really wanted a glass with my pork chops. Ended up having 3. Oh well, today is another day.
My goal for today is to have one glass of wine with dinner. I am making salmon chowder and flat bread pizzas with fig and goat cheese, so a glass of chardonnay is definitely in order. I am pretty sure I will be able to stick with that because I am meeting my running group for a long run early in the morning. However, tomorrow evening our running group is doing a pub crawl. Gonna try my best with that one...2 -
Two days sans alcohol! I'm a wine-every-day kind of gal, so this is big! Hot tea instead.
Plan is to go without until Thanksgiving, then have two glasses of wine. I do have a party to go to next weekend and I'm a bit anxious about that. Can't decide if I'll splurge or not...
I just need to rein in the drinking except for social drinking. No need for every day and binge-y weekends.5
