Wow!! These are such awesome transformations! I love to see how differently everyone carries their weight. These are all roughly the same height but 150 (for example) looks so different from person to person! Weight really is just a number!!7

Thanks! I count calories, ride my stationary bike, walk and follow a fresh vegetarian diet although I make vegan choices as often as possible.

Were you vegetarian before starting, or did you start your veg diet when you decided to lose weight?
I've got about 60 lbs to go and just decided to go veg. (Hopefully also mostly vegan.)

Hey y’all trying to keep myself motivated for the last 20 lbs
5”7/230 lbs
5”7/155 lbs
First pic is from two months before I was diagnosed w hashimoto’s thyroiditis in 2013, I gained 60 lbs in less than a year!!
Second is today, back to the weight I was when I started first really struggling w symptoms at 13. You’re all so beautiful39 -
i too am 5'6 and 150lbs. Turning 50 really kicked my hormones all over the place and resulting in almost 15lb weight gain. My question is how do you use MFP? are you justin counting calories?or more specific % of fats, proteins and carbs?
i hate the gym(dont we all) so i lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle..please share your success stories! has anyone my height and close to my weight lost more than 2lbs a week?1 -
I am 5’6”. I went from 192 pounds at my heaviest on April 13, 2017 to 147 pounds today, Nov 5, 2017.
I have reached my first goal with nutritious diet and exercise. I’d love to see 135 pounds but that is just a number on the scale. I have never allowed myself to feel deprived and am not going to start that since it isn’t sustainable for me. I am happy in my skin now and am not going to make myself unhappy just to hit a number.

Wow,you all look great!!! I can't wait till I loose my last 30lbs. Any advice on how I can get my workout in for the day?I pretty much travel for work all the time, and living out of a suitcase;even though hotels do offer exercise rooms I find it hard to get my self motivated after 12hour shifts. :-(3

Perhaps split a long workout into chunks
so instead of doing a long 30 min workout
do 15 mins in the morning then 15 mins before bed?

Personally, I wouldn't advise trying for anywhere near 2lbs per week - you're already within a healthy weight range, even if you don't feel that way!
I'm 52 and have been here a bit less than two years, currently 151lbs after losing at least 66. There were some periods of maintenance in there, but my average was around 1lb/week for the majority of that time. I'm also sedentary and do almost no purposeful exercise, and most days I get less than 3500 steps in. I have not yet set foot in a gym, although I may do so at some point in the future!
Counting calories has been THE thing for me - it lets me eat what I want to (within reason), as long as I watch my portion sizes, without feeling so deprived that I want to give up. I don't worry about macro percentages at all, although I do tend to find that protein and fats make me feel more satisfied while bread can set off cravings for more. I don't stress over the actual percentage of carbs overall, but I do try not to eat too much bread or pasta on most days!
At the start of this year my calories for a loss of 1lb/week went down to just over 1200, and I was feeling far too hungry and miserable on that and finding it a challenge to stick to. I changed my goal to lose 0.5lb/week instead, and was much happier and more satisfied after that!
I've recently come out of about 3 months of maintaining while I adjusted to some lifestyle changes and am trying to lose the last few pounds - I'm aiming for 140lbs as my goal, a weight I haven't seen since my early twenties. I've heard plenty of people say that the last 10 or so are the hardest to lose (and there is very little room for logging errors with such a small deficit), so I don't know if I'll make that goal by the end of the year but I'm going to see what I can do. I'm pretty pleased with what I've achieved so far, though!
That "last few pounds" issue is why so many people suggest a goal of 0.5lbs/week for people with less than 20lbs to lose. When you're already a healthy weight, or close to it, the deficit required to lose more can be too steep for some people and cause them to cut their calories too low. You need to try and be patient and stay healthy, not cut drastically in an effort to lose a few pounds as fast as possible. Slow and steady is better in the long run.14 -

I'm a touch under 5' 7" and don't know how much I weighed in the first picture, but I wore a size 16. I'm now 144 pounds (4 pounds away from goal) and a size 8.

I wasn't overweight before (130 lbs at 5 ft 6) but definitely feel comfier at a lower weight. My goal now is to continue trying to gain muscle weight and get back up closer to the 'healthy weight' category.16 -
