Feeling a little sick today. Could not get that acid reflux under control last night!
But life goes on and I’ve got stuff to do! Lol
Rabbits been cleaned, appointments are nearly all sorted as I had about 3 clashing lol!
House is pretty tidy, should probably tidy up breakfast before I start lunch!
I’ve got a poorly 4 year old today. She said she had a headache this morning sonkept her off nursery and now she’s being sick so kind of glad I didn’t make her go in.6 -
@OConnell5483 Thank you so much for the encouragement! I'm a little nervous but I know that it will be fine. I'm a pretty good interviewer. I'm always honest and am really personable. So hopefully it easier then I'm hoping. Lol. I usually wear PJ pants around the house whenever I'm home. I only change into actual pants when I have to go out. Lol. But I think I might take your advice and start wearing actual pants again.
@Bex953172 I HATE heartburn! I used to get it all the time. For a while when I was in high school and my mom was really sick and I was dealing with friends drama I had really bad acid build up in my stomach and couldn't eat properly for about a month and a half. It was terrible! Poor baby(you're daughter lol) I hope she feels better soon! Having a sick child must be really hard, especially when mom is pregnant. Lol. I hope your day gets better!
So my interview is this afternoon. In the email I got from my interviewer, he said that they didn't have any open positions at the moment. I'm hoping that that was a ruse and that they actually do but they want me to be more relaxed or something during the interview. I dont know why, but I just keep having dreams about this bank and I got this feeling about it when I drove past one of their branches in the downtown area of my town a few weeks ago. So we'll see if my feeling was right. Lol.
The cat was a jerk again and woke me up 15 minutes before my alarm went off. I think he just wanted company because he had food and water. He was jumping all over us. As I've mentioned before, we live in a tiny two-room house so I feel bad locking him up in the living room, especially since his litter box is in the bathroom which is connected to our bedroom. So I guess we'll just have to deal with it until we eventually move and can close our door. Lol.
It poured for about 30 hours the last two days so the creek behind my house ran over its banks and is now up under my deck. This is a fairly common occurrence. I just hope that it doesn't get any worse. The driveway seems to be okay now if a little soupy. That's good at least.
Well, I hope everyone has a great day!

2/10/2018 - the weekends are generally my downfall. I usually overeat to the point that I gain back any losses from the week. Not this weekend though!
1. Log everything and be accurate with portion sizes!
2. Spend one hour organizing\cleaning out some clutter.
3. Water!!!
2/11/2018
1. Get the laundry fully completed!
2. Water
3. Move my body for a bit.
Oh my goodness, that is great! You did a wonderful job staying focused and changing your habits. AND you got an hour of organizing done---when I do that, it brings such satisfaction and peace.
Here's to an equally marvy Monday---and drink that water!
Peace and joy3 -

rover_gem87 wrote: »I love this thread. I’m new to MFP and calorie counting, having followed slimming world for most of my adult life! I’m enjoying my new found freedom but I’m one of these that expects results yesterday so I think this thread will help me to take things 1 day at a time.
My goals for today are:
- Log everything on here
- Drink 4 glasses water (I’m a terrible water drinker so it’s a start!)
- No snacking on junk
Welcome! You have arrived at a great place to find accountability, support, encouragement. I have been on here since the beginning of January. I was a horrible water drinker as well and set my daily goals lower than the suggested 8. Today, I still set my goal around 6 but I usually make it to 8 or beyond. Here are some tips that some of us are doing to meet our water goal: Set a glass that measures 8oz on your kitchen island, or somewhere you can see it. A red or other colored cup is good to get your attention. Set a cup in the bathroom (if you can tolerate non-filtered water). If you work outside the home, set water by your desk.
This is my routine now to get 6-8 cups in: I have found that if I drink at least three cups of water within the first 1.5 hours in the morning, I can pretty much reach 8 cups. First thing in the morning, I get my handy dandy 8 oz cup and drink one cup of water with my vitamins. Look at that! I've already had one cup, yea! While I putter in the kitchen, I drink another cup. Then I make herbal tea in my mug that measures 1.33 cups. Now, I've had 3.33 cups of water. If I don't have tea then I'll chug another cup of water. I will try to get one more cup of water in before I get dressed. If I didn't mind sink water, I would set an 8oz cup by my sink and drink a cup after brushing my teeth. As of right now I've had 4.33 cups of water/hot tea and it's 7:30am.
And that's another thing. Find water you like. I do not mind filtered water from our fridge. I also buy LeCroix water. It has no sweeteners. Just the essence of fruit and some bubbles. I drink a can a day, sometimes two. Each can has 1.5 cups of water. (buying the bottles is cheaper but I like the feel of the can...makes me think I'm drinking pop)
Using an 8oz cup has helped greatly. It's not as daunting. Even when I fill it right back up and drink a second cup it seems easier than if I'm using a 12 oz or 16 oz cup.
I keep that cup out on the island where I can see it. And I make myself stop and drink.
Okay, that's all I've got for you! I pretty much drink 8 cups of water now---with the first 3 or 4 hurriedly taken care of. I think the water has helped with my weight loss, so that's another incentive for me to just "Do It!"
Have a great week. Hope to see you here again!
Peace and joy3 -

- Avoid processed carbs
- Increase water from yesterday.
- Add 10 items to donate box, to make up for yesterday's 5 I didn't add
- Update bullet journal
- Continue with Body Groove program's next step Went bumming with husband so didn't do this.
- Read today's Simple Abundance and re-read 52 Small Changes...Week 7 chapter Doing this as soon as I finish logging here!
- Read next step in Beck's and update my index cards
- Prep for next week by selecting outfits for the week and hanging in spare room
- Prep for tomorrow - coffee pot, breakfast & lunch
- Commit to hitting my step goal this week every day, so I can increase by 1000.
- Bed sleeping by 10, up without hitting snooze tomorrow. Heading to bed in 10 minutes. It remains to be seen if I"m sleeping by 10 or getting up without hitting snooze, but it is the plan.
Today, I tried a few different things to keep my eating under control. One of those things was to wear my jeans all day around the house instead of sweatpants. I never used to wear sweatpants. I started wearing them all the time in the last couple of years, which makes it easier to eat because with the elastic waistband they don't feel tight. So, one lifestyle change I'm making is that I will be wearing my blue jeans again unless I'm exercising.
Just for Monday
1. No processed carbs
2. 65 oz of water or decaf beverages (tea)
3. Body Groove program = next step, after work
4. Review Beck's index cards at least twice
5. Hit my step goal
6. Read today's Simple Abundance and Beck's Diet Solution
7. Prep Tuesday's lunch, coffee pot, and set out clothes
8. 30 minutes cardio (Body Groove?)
9. Bed sleeping by 10, and get up in morning without hitting snooze
Perhaps I can't control what happens in life, but I certainly can control how I react to it.
Wow! Your post is beaming with all those smiley faces!!! Super great job. RE: sweats. I think it's a great idea to wear jeans to remind you of the waste band. I tossed my sweats out almost ten years ago, and I've not regretted it. I do not have yoga pants (I just work out in an old pair of cropped pants or shorts). But if I did, I would use them just for exercise/yoga. Even though I am home during the day, I put on jeans or slacks and shoes. It increases my productivity and I just "feel" better.
Oh, and I see you prepped and accessorized your clothes for the week---I think that really got your mornings off to a great start...I'm glad you got it done again...less stress for the morning!
Peace and joy3 -
all goals met
Today I found myself seriously considering skipping exercise 'cause I don't feel 100% but then realized that isn't something 2019 me would accept as an excuse, and I'd just be disappointed with 2018 me.
In the end I did exercise and I'm going to bed feeling strong (though worn out). hope I can remember this for the next time
stay within KJ limit
watch out for sugar and sodium limits
eat chia for breakfast
avoid dairy and gluten
avoid coffee
complete 30mins on exercise bike4 -

Drink water-64oz min. For some reason, I'm able to manage drinking more.

On Sat, I tried to plan ahead before a birthday party at a Tavern. I felt I lost control with my food choices so I'm back on track today.
Pack protein bar & apple in bag.

Thank you! I don't know what happened, but suddenly yesterday a few light bulbs went on.
Regarding the jeans....I really don't know what happened! I never used to wear sweat pants around the house. I always wore jeans and a top and did my hair and make-up because I wanted to look nice for my husband. I also just plain felt better when I did that. I don't know what happened to change that...probably a few factors: stressed out from work, dealing with complications of chemo and surgeries, weight gain, depression... Excuses, of course, but I think I think I got in a rut and just didn't even realize it. So, I'm glad you understand what I'm coming from with that one! I really believe it will make a difference. A small change that could pay out big!
And yes, this is week 2 for setting out my outfits for the week so I can just shower and go without thinking about it. Also making my breakfast and lunch for the next day, getting coffee pot set on auto timer, and my laptop bag packed and by the door ready to go. My oh my, does that ever make my morning go smooth!!!
xoxo4 -
Thank you so much for the encouragement! I think it went really well! We talked for 40 minutes! Lol. And I thought I was going to be late which really bothered me, but I walked into the bank at exactly 1 pm (which still bothered me.) I'm the kind of person who thinks that if I'm on time, I'm actually late. Lol. I'm usually at least 10 minutes early to every appointment I go to. It drives my DH crazy! Lol. I think I hit every red light of the 10 that I had to go through to get to the bank.
It was kind of funny because we talked about one of my previous jobs a lot. There is a very, VERY popular convenience store chain that I worked at for almost 9 years called Wawa. When I say popular, I mean there are 11 of them in the ten-mile radius of the town I live in. Lol. Anyway, he asked a lot of questions about what it was like to work there, and how some things worked. Lol. I gave him a lot of backstage knowledge. Lol.
But it was a really good conversation. I was completely honest about the fraud that I was caught up in in my previous bank. He asked questions about it and I was upfront and honest. I think I impressed him too because I brought two copies of my resume as well. One for him and one for myself. I learned that from a failed interview several years ago. Lol. He actually thanked me for thinking of it. Lol. I think it went really really well! I hope something comes of it!
@toaljasa That's an awesome loss! Congrats! I really love how you spread joy and encouragement on this board! It always makes me smile when I read all the comments you make! Just know that your joy is infectious!
@OConnell5483 Awesome loss! I think I am going to start wearing actual clothes again as well. After I read your comments last night about the sweatpants vs jeans I actually wore my jeans until I got ready for bed last night. We had dinner with my folks at 6 and I wore them until probably 1030. I felt strange but oddly exhilarating! I'm actually about to run out the door to go to the gym but I am determined not to wear my yoga pants all day. I will come home, shower and change into my jeans! Lol. So thank you!
Oh! Not only did I have a great interview but I had a good report from my doctor. I told him all about the total change in my life since he told me it was okay to go back on my meds last month. And about all the weight I lost. He was very very happy about that! What also was awesome is that he is one of 3 MD's and NP that work in that office. I sat down in the waiting room for about 30 seconds and got called back to go to an examining room even though there was a room full of people. I guess I was the only one there to see him. I talked to the nurse for about 5 minutes. She left and about a minute later the Doc came in. I was literally in and out in 15 minutes! It was awesome! It gave me enough time to get home, eat something, put on makeup, get dressed and fix my hair before I had to leave. I also got to kiss my DH before I ran out the door because I won't see him until late tonight. It was really nice.8 -
My partner bought some new scales today!
He said he had an eye on some but they were about £25 quid. He randomly looked in a charity shop which he doesn’t normally do and they had the exact same ones for a 5er!!!
They do your weight, BMI, skeleton weight, muscle mass, body fat %, BMR and water weight.
They’re awesome!
And after weighing myself I’ve only put on 15lb!
My pre-pregnancy goal was to only gain 10lb in pregnancy of which baby would be roughly 6-7. I realise that was a bit difficult to achieve but baby will be approx 7lb I think and then there’s amniotic weight and placenta weight so realistically, I’ve hardly gained at all!
So chuffed about that.
My youngest got on them being curious. she weighs 23 lbs5 -

Yes, that's the other reason I wear jeans or slacks. Years ago---probably about the time I quit wearing sweats--I was convicted to stop dressing so "slovenly" for my husband. He had never said a word about the sweats, but when I did start putting on a dab of make up and dressing nicer, he sure noticed! I realized it takes the same amount of time for me to put on sweats and tshirt as it does to don slacks/nice jeans and a blouse. Five minutes to put on a dab of color. And, I'm ready to walk out the door to do errands if need be! And I really do feel more positive and accomplish more.
I think you are on to something with your nightly prep---and you've probably read about a jillion times to do what you are now doing, but we have to wait til our own personal light bulb goes on! And these relatively small changes are creating less stress, leading to an overall healthier and confident you physically and mentally!2 -

And wow! What a find!! I don't know that I will ever get that excited over scales, lol, but I love the bargain aspect of it!!!2 -

Sorry all, I'm not feeling well today. I'm not setting goals, just trying to get better before I have to return to the lab tomorrow. I'm hoping it is a 24 hr thing, we'll see
Good news, everyone else in my family is back to being healthy, so I did achieve something but I think it drained me, Lol
Everyone is doing fabulous6 -
The day started badly when my alarm failed to go off so didn’t have enough time to work out, which left me in a bit of a funk. But we had a great time on the Harry Potter studio tour and family time takes priority so I’m over it. And I just scraped (barely, but still) most of my other goals.
- exercise before kids get up
- 10k + steps ✅
- 2 ltr + water ✅
- Stay within calorie goal ✅ this was not easy or fun without exercise calories!
- Book junk collection called the company but they don’t dismantle stuff so more research needed. Or a very large sledgehammer...
- Buy garden waste bin ✅
Tomorrow’s goals:
- exercise before kids get up
- 2ltr + water
- stay within calorie goal
- Hot yoga class
- Make pancakes for the kids
- Take kids to movies in the evening but...
- Be home for grocery delivery!
Night all x5 -
Yay @Bex953172 on the minimal pregnancy gain - amazing! And well done @HGSmith0920 for the interview. And everyone else out there smashing it!
You are all keeping me motivated. X4 -
