Hi ladies,

Lanette, yup it’s my 63rd birthday today. Had a great day even though I didn’t get below 200 by today. DH gave me a nice necklace and DD and I spent the day together. We did some shopping and I found a couple of sweaters on sale. Then she took me to get my nails done. All in all a great day. And I don’t feel a day over 62. Lol

Ran the dishwasher. i remember that last year the water backed up in the sink when I ran it. Well, that must have happened again. I totally forgot that we were going to take out the garbage disposal since it doesn't work anyway. Vince plunged it. I'm sure we'll need to run the d/w before we leave so we shall see if the water backs up again or not.

Happy Birthday Terry. Sounds like a great day. I told my son that his dad and I am in the 4th quarter of our lives and he said,’No Mom, you are in overtime”. Which is probably true. Anyway, enjoy every day you have and cherish each memory.
Had a busy day with a birthday lunch for a golfing buddy, then Book Club. The book reviewed was The Golden Son. Great book. After I got home DH and I went to the Y where I lifted weights, did the elliptical for 15 minutes, my best time so far, then I did the rowing machine for 15 minutes.

Hi ladies!
So husbands procedure went well, stents were changed. Doctors are going to try to move the main surgery up, and not have us wait until March 16th. I hope that happens. It was nice to have the procedure today happen so early, 10 am ish. He was able to go to recovery, then come back to the room in good shape! My middle son that is married, out of the Navy, and working at Home Depot by PDX, came by! We took the tram down to the Waterfront bldg, and had coffee and a great chat. Saw him when we stayed at their place in Vancouver WA, in Dec 26th-30th. He is such a great young adult, and his goatee is growing nicely! There is red hair in it!

The doctors decided it would be best for us to go home. So I drove home, and did really well! Only once when I got into a turn lane to turn left off the freeway, the person in front of me decided to go across the double line to enter into the turn lane early. So I waited until there was an opening in the double lines to get in it. Well the person behind me was in my mirror as being on my left side of my car. What, she was passing me in the turn off??? So no one hit each other, but I was freaked out seeing a car on my left side for a moment!! The person behind me had also entered into the turn lane really early, so probably in her eyes she was thinking why is this car coming at me on my right??? Something I will have to pay attention to!!
Well long day.... Long day but good day!

Lanette- thanks! I am no longer teaching. I filed a constructive discharge notice with the district because of the deplorable situation of the school I was teaching in. No discipline policy, the science specialist didn't even know they had textbooks, I had no access to the grade book for entering grades or parent/ student information for over 9 weeks. They were holding me hostage because if I resigned early they could take $2,500 from my pay. My last day was 2/2/18. I have been recovering from the flu since which turned into bronchitis and am still sick. Thanks for asking

Had dinner with Jack's kids and grands tonight cuz Navy grandson and wife are home for a few days on the way to his new assignment in Southern California. Always have to bolster up my self esteem to deal with "the ex". Ugh.

Hello dear sisters. Typing agin on my laptop since my iPad wont let me log into MFP at all. It keeps looing me off the intenet. I guess I should do what my duaghter says 'if something is going wierd, completely shut down and then power back on'.

Becca, so glad your husbands first procedure went well. Also hoping they can move up his surgery. But I hope the same drivers arent on the road.

Felicia, what do you do to warm your fingers up when they get cold on you. Last night I put a sock on my hand but it is a Jobst diabetic sock and it felt to tight. So i had Charlie go through his sock drawer and give me a pair of his old socks that are reaal loose. I tink I will use both socks. I have tried tojsut wrap myhand around the edge of my blanket but somrtimes it is awkward and sometimes as i sleep it becomes unwrapped.

There are several of my dear ssiters here who have some communnication issues. Wendy you just need to sit this couple down and lay down some rules. you need to tell them how you feel but hve tact. if they dont seem to get it them tell them when you are going to go see them next year. Kim and Lisa the same thing. Dont keep your feelings to yourself and spouse. Tell the roommate or dauhgter.It is a life lesson for both parties.

I weighed myself this morning mainly to weigh Mozart.I was glas to see that I am still under 200 but then I weighed Mozart. I weighed myself first, 199 but then with him it was 214. That cat who is still a kitten weighs 15 pounds. I would love to have a vet see him so I can ask if there is any Maine Coone in him but I don't have any reason to have him see a vet. I have read how to determine if your cat is obese and the main thing is whether or not you feel the cat's ribs easily and i do. He will be one in less than a month and then he will go off his kitten food which si higher in protein. But both cats eat out of both food bowls. Granted Mozart eats his food first and Melody eats hers first. But when they are jsut grazing, they may eat the other food. He does a fair amount of running through the house chasing Melody and sometimes he jsut runs through the house to be crazy. So he does get excercise.

We have several new places in town that have opened that serve just good home cooking. They are not chain, just family owned. But they are only open for breakfast and lunch. Charlie likes going out for supper. I have asked that we go check them out for lunch and then do what we do now for supper. I usually eat a sandwich and carrots, he eats a bowl of soup and a pimento cheese sanddwhich. But he doesn't want to. But I read a review of one of the new places and they are havin a Valentines lunch buffet at $50 per person! That is way out of our price range

Welcome to our new women here. This is a place that you are allowed to be yourself, vent all you want. Be silly, be frank. Talk out your troubles. Sometimes if you just talk it out, you find your own solution. There are no rules except we try to avoid politics and religion as they can be very personal to a person and may cause some disagreements. We want to get to know you, who you are, are you married, kids, grand kids, job, etc. All of those things affect your weight and maybe your weight affects those thins also.

Lanette: I had a riding lesson on Arrow Sunday afternoon. I was not his first rider for the day and he was better than usual for me. I enjoyed my lesson very much. :bigsmile:

I watched snowboarders on the Olympics for a little while. I'm not as entranced with Olympics as usual this time. I'm not sure why. The times of the broadcasts are a bit late for me. Maybe that is it.

Katla- it was a title 1 public school. Thanks, I'm glad I'm not working there but I loved teaching so I have mixed emotions about quitting. My DH is working in a different school district that is also a public school and is completely the opposite so I may volunteer there.

Felicia:- I've had Raynaud's for years. The fingers on both hands go completely white but not usually both hands at the same time, and never the thumbs!? . It soon passes and they go through some lovely colours before they go back to pink! Doc has always said it's nothing to worry about.

Worse thing ever just happened! I'm laying in bed playing spider solitaire on my iPhone and I feel something on my face by my right eye I touched the top of something round roughly the size of the pad of my middle finger tip and instantly grabbed it between my middle finger and thumb and quickly threw it off onto the bed and hop up to turn the light on. It was thick about the size of one of those large candy buttons my DH and I looked all over and couldn't find anything...definitely bug bombs tomorrow! Now I definitely won't be able to sleep

Busy, crazy day at work . The other Assistant Manager that was in with me seemed content to leave the running of the store to me. She just worked out stock. Meanwhile I dealt with everything from changing the cords on the pinpads, talking to the supply chain, rescheduling a truck and the truck crew to confronting the woman who tried to return an item she had never purchased(It had our security ties on) and asking a man who was hassling our customers to move off the property. I was not bored! I still managed to get all of my paper work done. Tomorrow is another training day.

I won't even get into the complicated day of getting Harmony from school and to dance. I did tell Kim that she could make better use of the 45 minutes that Harmony is in dance class. She waited until class was done to ask me to take her to the drug store and dollar store. It was only a couple of blocks away but it turned a late evening into an evening later one. She also had the nerve to complain about my DS and DBIL who looked after Harmony in the morning while she went to interviews and then took Harmony to school. I was annoyed and she did know it .....well....maybe. Kim talks a lot more than she listens.

Tomorrow I am working on my own stuff and everyone else can fend for themselves.

Becca - So glad your Chief's latest bout with jaundice was caught and resolved. Hope they can move his surgery up and get it over with. Glad you got home safe!

Joyce - I plan to talk with my daughter when the moment is right. You're right, that she needs to know, but I also know that having that talk in the heat of the moment when one side's angry and the other is angry and defensive, simply isn't useful. OK - once my husband reminded me, I remembered that. Anger doesn't resolve anything. When everyone is calm and the incident can be looked at with cooler heads on both sides, I might be able to effect a change in behavior. I know that angry words, once spoken, might as well be graven in stone. No one can erase them, change them, or make up for them. Luckily, the flip side is also true. Loving words can be taken to heart, remembered, and used in future. It's what we all do, I think, with the advice we give here. Even Pip's boot is administered from a good place!

Barbara - and others who suggested it. I think maybe I will talk to her about a babysitter at least on some Fridays, and possibly for the weekends she's out in the field, as well. I'm on a four-day workweek, and every Friday finds me wishing my husband was off, too, so we could do what we would like to do for a little while. Thank you for the suggestion!

This place, with all of you, is so good for my heart and soul - to have a community of women of near my age to vent to, smile to, celebrate with, enjoy their good fortune and commiserate with their troubles, support in return (I hope), and sometimes just have fun--it's been an amazing resource the last few years. I'm so glad you're all here.

And now that I'm on my second cup of coffee, it's time to upload my massive grant application and almost as massive request for continued funding to an online portal for the United Way. My boss had a few changes when she got back from her travels yesterday, but very minor. She's an amazing lady. For those who didn't know, Rori - who's also a member here - met me in West Texas where I lived at the time, September of 2016. She sent my resume on to my boss, who held onto it for six months, and contacted me when the job came open. Rori's the reason I have this job, and I am ever grateful. Can't believe that it will be a year on May 1!

Well, my water weight has exited my body taking .4 of my fat friends with him. That means I spent 10 days on vacation, 7 of them in Hawaii with yummy food, not weighing or knowing precisely what went in my food and lost a tiny bit of weight instead of gaining. I’m doing a happy dance!!!

JerseyGirl (sorry, temporarily forgot your name --CRS. Was it Ellen - something that began with an "e") - My husband and I grew up in NJ, northern NJ -- Passaic and Bergen counties. We then moved to West Milford (by NY state border) then the Poconos, then southern PA, now we live in NC. We own a condo in FL so we're down here right now. We'll be going back too soon for me. But I always say that

Split Personality Joyce - one of our cats has lost weight - he's 14lbs now. He's not overweight, he just has big bones. Even the vet said this. That could very well be the same way Mr. Mozart is.

Well, today is Fat Tuesday. To celebrate I had a piece of chocolate cake. But to be honest, I really don't care for any more (which is a good feeling)

Viv - I swear, now that I'm retired I need to keep a calendar of what I'm doing every day.

Barbara - I've found that I get a chin wax for those hairs every few months. I went to this one place but this last time I went to this place where the students at the local community college work on you. Much, much less expensive. LOL renting out your knees.

I am up, even with meletonin,didn't sleep well..Another day in court today, with me losing money every time I go, and having to use my vacation time, will get over to the court by 8:30 so that I can sign in as soon as we get to the 4th floor.let me tell you if his attorney doesn't show this time.I will ask that the attorney be held in contempt of court..
And then there is my dads estate, trying to not get ahead of myself ,but worry how im going to take care of it all..I will put it in Gods hands..

Wessecg I get what you mean. I have a ‘picture’ in my mind that matches me. That reflection in the mirror and person in the photos? She looks very little like the ‘real’ me in my minds eye.

Michelle Water... Maybe you feel less thirsty because of the humidity? I drink more regular amounts in the colder months. Hot tea constantly from like 2 pm to 7 pm or so. In hot humid weather it is less constant and more sporadic. BTW, I adore canasta!

Lanette take care of that foot! And why does one bring in hummingbird feeders? Having spent most of my life in urban areas I well remember the one time in my life I saw a hummingbird - it was last century when I was on a vacation in Arizona!

SharonThanks. I’m nowhere near 100% but I’m so much better than I was last week thank goodness! I went through 4 boxes of Kleenex in a couple of days!

Barbara Your observation about oujia boards is so on point: the sources are untrustworthy. I never heard that before but it totally speaks to me.
