@OConnell5483 I am throwing your words back at you! I cannot control what happens to me, but I certainly can control how I react to it! Write this down as you face your workload tomorrow. You can't control the amount you will have waiting but remember to use your stressless methods. And also, why get stressed over it? It's not going to do a bit of good, and may in fact hamper you being able to tackle it as you will lose focus!
BTW, you really knocked out your list today! Loved that you cleared out a little niche just for you!
Peace and joy.
Take care (and I am so glad you are feeling better)2 -
JFT M 3/12
1. Eat only the food I have brought myself to work (gained seventy pounds in four years eating the food work provides for us for free---- the money I saved isn't worth the weight I gained)
2. Stay under my MFP calorie limit
Starting out easy, I'll get better at this. I will add in exercise after I have enough practice eating less under my belt, around ten more pounds down...
Good luck, friends!

Thanks all for the comments on the cake. Party went brilliantly and the sleepover was good although there really wasn’t much sleeping! Was so tired yesterday I didn’t log or make it back on here. Def didn’t stay within calorie goal but I had a lovely Mother’s Day and am happy to be starting a fresh week back to my usual routine.
Goals for today:
Exercise early
Stay within calorie goal
2ltr + water
Put up completed display
Meet with Head re twinning call
Meet with B re parent meeting
Input data first set
Batch cook veggies after work
Lots of smiley faces on here and I can see momentum gathering with losses and people recovering from flu etc. Wishing you all a fabulous week smashing your goals. X3 -
JFT, SUnday
1. log all food
2. take daughters taxes to get done - hopefully she will get some back
3. work more on drinking water!! Not as much as I hoped to, but I at least got in 4 cups!
4. go to the gym with hubby in the afternoon Wet, snowy day today, plus neither hubby or I got nearly enough sleep, so really tired all day long.
5. work on sewing either quilt or chemo hats Only sewed for about 1 hour today
6. get back on here tomorrow - be accountable
Took my daughters taxes in, and tomorrow I am going to make an appt with disability. If she loses it, it will be hard, but I am so nervous, so the best thing is to go in and talk to them.
My daughter called and wanted to know if I could come and help her clean her apartment -- so I spent 3 hours doing that!! I was glad she called ... as it was a mess. But I think she will do much better with it all cleaned up. I threw out a lot of old boxes, etc. It is hard to understand why she can't keep it clean... but it is what it is.
Also found out that my niece's husband passed away last nite. He had been in critical condition for 6 weeks ... waiting for a heart and kidney transplant. but it is hard when we are losing the younger generation. I worry alot about my niece ... and whenever I start to feel sorry for myself with all we have going on with our daughter ... we don't have to look far to see others that have it so much harder. So much we have to be thankful for everyday.
JFT, Monday
1. try and go to the gym ... but if I don't, I need the sleep. Not nearly enough sleep last nite, so I may sleep in.
2. log all food
3. concentrate on water
4. call disability office and make appt
5. try to work a little more on my quilt so I can clean up the dining room
6. get back on here - be accountable.
@Bex953172 - hope you had a good day! With 2 little ones, and a newborn, you are doing great. Hoping you get a good nites rest!
@Faebert - that cake is unbelievable!! My mother used to decorate and bake beautiful cakes - but never one with so many layers! Just beautiful - too pretty to eat!
@toaljasa - Thanks for the note LOL!!!! Yes, I heard you!!!!!! ANd you are so right - I need to just stay away from the candy and ice cream isle!!!!!! Thanks for that kick in the butt ---- I needed that!! And thank you for caring! You are such a great motivator on this thread ---- always there to pull people up!! SO again, thank you!! You've given me that kick to keep my going all week!
@OConnell5483- I hope you are feeling better! And ... I love your idea of a book nook!!! What a great idea - a nice place to just sit and relax with a good book!! My SIL used to have a spare room like this - filled with candles, and a comfy chair, and books!
Well, I hear hubby coming up for bed, so I can't respond to everyone! But you guys are all doing so great ---- we are all going to get there!!!! This will be our year!

@OConnell5483 Remember at Christmas I said something to the effect of how insane it is that we take our normally busy lives and try to cram more stuff in without changing what's already there and then wonder why we can't get everything done and why we feel stressed. Please be careful with your expectations going back to work after your lengthy illness.
@joan6630 You're just as close to your March goals as I am. Yay! We can do this.3 -

Okay so getting back into this logging is hard!
Tbh though I’m not beating myself up about it my hands are full enough lol!
Had a really good day yesterday, my parents came round for the takeaway which after also successfully BFing infront of them made me ravenous and I shovelled that curry down my throat lol (I was very very private over my body as a young child/teen) and now just don’t care less lol!)
My mum and partner got through 3 bottles of wine and my partner was very worse for wear, absolutely plastered. Had to take him to bed but he was very affectionate telling me how much I meant to him and I finally stayed in the bed again (been sleeping on the sofa whilst establishing BFing) and despite only having 4hrs sleep I feel SO rested!
Got a busy morning, clean up from last night and get eldest to nursery! All before the midwife visits!
It’s raining though... don’t fancy the walk in but needs must. Still can’t use the car, despite my partner knowing that I can drive the brakes are still bedding in and he’s worried I’ll press the pedal too hard (they’re very sensitive atm) and I’ll either break the car or have an accident, so still waiting to go out with him with me in the car.
Anyway
No set goals for today but just going to try Log in general
Sorry for waffling on lol!5 -

@sarah74_vt I love all the smiley faces I see from you every day. It always makes ME smiley. Lol. Keep up the great work!
@Bex953172 I'm so glad that you had a great day! Those are really important. I love when my DH says things like that to me. Lol. I hope you get another great day today as well!
@OConnell5483 Have a great day at work! And use the Calm app! I try to use it every morning and if I feel like I'm really stressed or really scattered, I'll sit down and focus on my breathing. It's amazing how well it works! And I love the book nook! When we move into the other house on the property(eventually) there is more space so I'd love to create an office for myself where I can step up something like that!
@joan6630 I'm praying that you can get a meeting with the Disability people soon. And remember Operation Red Cup! I'm creating another one for you! OPERATION: ANTI-CANDY! Have a great day!
@Faebert I'm so glad that everything went well and that you had a great Mother's Day. I know what you mean about getting back into the swing of things. I hope that your sense of normalcy returns!
@toaljasa I second what Joan said! You are an awesome presence here! You give amazing encouragement and some of the best advice I've heard in a long time. We are blessed to have you here with us every day! Thank you so much!
@schwich13 Welcome! This is a great thread! You will love it! Changing a lifestyle is all about making small changes that you can stick to. It sounds like you are heading in the right direction with the changes you are making! Keep up the great work! The best advice I can give you is to come back here daily and keep yourself accountable. It will help so much!
@cschmitz110515 I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! That sounds like a lot of fun! And I'm glad that you got a walk in as well! I hope you have a great day at work!4 -

1. Up by 7 10:30 thinking it was 9:30...thank you DST
2. Morning Routine/Yoga/Meditate Woke up too late to do any of this
3. Coffee & Tea with DH See above
4. Church This we did make it to. We had a great time.
5. Lunch I just had leftovers and some fruit.
6. Pay bills/update planner for the week Did this and revised the budget a bit. We may have to wait to pay a few bills until I get my first check which I have no idea when that will be, but it'll be fine. I know it!
7. DH time I love spending time with him, but tbh I'll be glad when he goes back to work tomorrow!
8. Leave for M&M's by 345 Hit traffic though so we didn't get there until 10 after 4
9. Visit/Dinner with M&M Had a wonderful time. The DH opened up to them pretty quickly.
10. Quiet time at home Watched the end of a Pens game(they won!) and I fell asleep on the couch
11. Bed by 11 Went to bed at 11:30 was probably asleep by 12.
Good morning everyone! I hope you all are having a good morning. I'm currently sitting on the couch attempting to not fall back to sleep. Lol. I've been up for almost an hour but I am still nodding off a bit. I think I agree with everyone in hating DST. I guess I understand why we have it, it just doesnt work well for people who aren't farmers.
The DH and I had a great time at M&M's last night. M(Godmommy) and DH both have had multiple head trauma's and the DH said it was nice to talk to someone who has the same symptoms and leftover repercussions that he does. He understands now what I mean when I say that I can use what I've learned from being with him to help myself deal with Godmom because they have similar mannerisms. Dinner was yummy but I will not even attempt to log it because it was so random. Lol. It was definitely calorie laden. This whole weekend has been. I know it's going to take me about a week to get my body back to normal. I'll do my weekly weigh in on Friday like usual. But I probably won't weigh myself before then. Lol.
Anyway, onto JFT, 3/12/18

Just started on this thread.
My macros have been set by my cardiologist
Dailie macros need to be as close to these numbers as I can get them. So my goal is to not go over them. I do not have a weight goal other than one day to be under 150. This time last year after all my tests he said my heart was like an 82 year old. I would not live to see next year Summer. Scared me. Goals last - year start moderate keto and do not go over 50 netcarbs in a day. Remove sugar, high starch foods and wheat products from my diet as of that day. I did this and went through hell in withdrawl for many months, but did it. Saw Doctor on the 6th and he said ok now step 2. BTW I did lose 15 pounds from last year. I did the part most people can not do, so he thought I was ready for more reduction.
Now - netcarbs to 30, protein to 70-80 closer to 70. (the reduced protein will be tough) Even though the ADA has changed how they count Netcarbs for me I am to subtract all fibers (ADA no longer does it this way). I wish that MFP would add this. So inorder to not see red on my page I have my carbs set to 80, but watch the numbers so that when I subtract my fiber I make sure my carbs are as close to 30 as I can get them. He also said last year and this year to stop the eating late at night. OMG That is pretty tough.
I am over 60 in age
Weight today: 230 - down 15 from last year - (not good enough)
As of the 6th I have kept to my macros everyday until last night late night eating while small still happened. I see a cardiologist, and an endocrinologist quarterly. My A1C went down from 6.9 to 6 in less than one year. I have been diabetic for over 20 years. This is the lowest A1C in many years. My HDL, and LDL are now in the normal range. First time in over 20 years. My triglycerides at one point were close to 1000. This last week they were 211.
Late night eating - Ok I am supposed to have my keto caffeine free coffee to help with night time eating. My recipe is 14 oz or so of caffeine free coffee, 1 tbsp real butter, 1 tbsp heavy cream, Stevia - whip it up to frothy. Just like a desert and the fats will help. So, did it every night except for last night, it worked and last night was a fail. So, back to that.
The reduced protein in my diet is a challenge. Apparently to much protein which is showing in my urine can cause kidney damage, and will stall or stop weight loss, as your body will start using that as its fuel. This has shown to the be case in both my husband and myself.
I need to add some exercise, and that is my goal, but I need to get the reduced protein and no night eating down first as this is emotional. However, I have not had a stroke yet, and he said I was one waiting to happen any moment. So far I count all this as a win, just need to continue with new reductions.

So good that you and your dh spent time with your god mother. Looks like you have a productive day ahead of you! Enjoy that cleaned out pantry. I know it's weird, but an organized pantry allows me to enjoy cooking and baking more---maybe because I am more efficient. Straightened/organized pantrys and linen closets makes my heart smile .2 -
@toaljasa I try to clean out/organize my fridge and my pantry weekly. Like you, it gives me a nice sense of accomplishment to have it all organized. I have a bunch of things to add to the pantry that I bought over the weekend. My pantry is a cabinet. I wish I had a walk-in pantry but I guess that would even harder to organize. Lol But I'll do it today. I'll reorganize the fridge when the DH goes back to work tomorrow. Lol.2

HAHAHA!!! OH my word...I LOVE to organize other people's pantrys and linen closets, lol! My daughter in law and son, very graciously allowed me in their kitchen and pantry to reorganize them to make a better flow. I told them please, feel free to put anything back because it's got to work for the people in there. I tried to keep their lifestyles, most used appliances, etc., in mind as I was working. They loved it. My husband added more cabinets in the pantry. I had fun and they still mention to people (namely, son's mil) how much better it is---they just hadn't taken time to give it much thought...I have lots more time, lol! I guess I really like cooking and baking...but not in a kitchen that is disorganized. Makes my head hurt! (and no, I don't critique kitchens and pantrys---only when I'm cookin' in them for long periods of time!)2 -
Today’s been pooooo
Partner has been pretty ill today, I’ve had 4 hours sleep with a lot of night nursing until around 1am and becausenof that I didn’t tidy up last night which I thought would be no problem as I can do it in the morning.
But with the lack of sleep and trying to feed a baby again, do breakfast for the other two, look after my partner when he was being sick all the while I’m soaked in milk and just generally very worse for wear and a midwife visit at 9.30am the outlook of even getting my daughter to nursery was bleak. So decided to keep her home.
Tried to reschedule said midwife visit today just til tomorrow and basically they just pushed and pushed until I HAD to let them come round.
Baby is still a bit jaundiced. And now she’s two weeks old (how fast has THAT gone!) it’s called “prolonged jaundice” so they need to do extra blood tests and possible photo-light therapy (? Not sure if that’s it’s actual name)
So on the phone they basically put it as “we need to do the tests” I explained the situation and that I simply didn’t want anyone round today and they said that they had to because it’s “what’s best for baby” and I took that as they were implying that I didn’t care what was best for baby. And after having previous postnatal depression that did not go down well. At. All.
I then start shouting at them, crying down the phone saying that it was too much for them to come today as I have enough to do and she says “well it sounds like you need help!” And then I REALLY lost it shouting that it was their $hitty comments like that that would make me ill again. I didn’t need “help” and “help” would be them understanding that I simply had too much on my hands to even deal with that today and they should respect that and come tomorrow!
And after all that, I still ending up agreeing that they would come round. So she comes round, pushing me to take her to the hospital to run the tests. I said you can take the blood test here. These have since been reviewed and the levels are a little high but said I’m more than okay to come in the morning (LIKE I EFFING SAID!)
So they’ve caused me a day of stress for nothing
They’ve put me on a feeding plan which is really difficult (BF every 3 hours and express on top of that to top her up after her feed) and with no prestored milk it’s been awful. I had to pump, then feed, then feed her the expressed, wait an hour to rehydrate myself and pump again ready for the next feed. And I’m only getting about an oz which is making me feel even worse.
And now I have a pounding headache myself and my glands in my neck are swelling.
The midwifes have said so many triggering things and I’ve held together every time.
Just trying to hold out til I’m discharged from their care and just not crack in the meantime
Sorry for the long unrelated post, just had to get it out to save my sanity!
