I've never been much on an emotional eater, but tonight I was. There has been a dark chocolate cake with peanut butter icing sitting in my fridge since Sunday. Usually, I can withstand it. But it was screaming my name after I typed that last post. I think eating dinner at the table by myself made me sad. So I made the decision to have a piece. It was bigger then it looked when I cut it(not an excuse, I know.) And it ended up making me pretty sick for a while. I'm okay now, but it's not even 8 yet and I'm bored and lonely. The DH probably won't get home for at least another 2.5 hours. I read the next chapter in Becks Diet Solution and picked out my 2 plans and stuck response cards to most of the walls in my house. At least the walls I tend to stare at while doing things around the house(i.e. bathroom mirror, above the kitchen sink, next to coffee maker, fridge door, the cover of my laptop). I'm hoping that those work. I know the power of Cognitive Therapy. It is what has helped me get over two addictions and several destructive mindsets that come with my illness. I'm just feeling incredibly hopeless tonight. I did a gratitude meditation for about fifteen minutes too. That didn't seem to help either.

    1. Log all food :)Even the cake I ate.
    2. At least 94oz of water :)Almost. Just about 12oz left
    3. Up @ 7 :DGot up at 7 then went back to sleep at 8 and slept until 9:30
    4. Normal morning stuff :)Yup
    5. Yoga/Bible/Meditate :)Bible and meditated but I just couldn't bring myself to the mat. I have a feeling that might be why I'm so down today
    6. Email Bank Manager :):'(No answer. This is becoming ridiculous. I'm going to email the man who interviewed me. He is the Vice President of the bank. Hopefully, I'll get an answer from him
    7. Read :)Did this while at the gym and after dinner
    8. Work on story :'(Going back to sleep and having the DH home all morning completely screwed me up
    9. DH up by 11 :)10 actually
    10. Lunch/walk :)Just a banana and a dip and carrot sticks. The DH joined me on my walk.
    11. Meal plan :/Did that stupid research project instead
    12. Gym :)Only stayed for about 45 minutes. But I got a nice/hard walk in on the treadmill. I'm starting to be able to increase my speed. That has been nice.
    13. Drop off book at library :DIt was literally a half mile away. But I would have had to battle downtown traffic at rush hour. So I nixed that. I'll do it tomorrow after my needle appt.
    14. Dinner(leftovers)/Dishes :)Had leftover shepherds pie. It was pretty yummy reheated. I still have to do the dishes. In fact, I'm going to get up and do them as soon as I'm done with this.
    15. Church meeting :/I realized that I had been to this particular meeting before and I just wasn't up to it
    16. Heat up food for DH for when he gets home :)I'll do this at about 10:15 depending on what time he leaves work.
    17. Bed by 12 am :|Probably earlier, but honestly, I have no idea.

    JFT, 3/15/18

Hate having kids sometimes, not having them as such but the fact they always give me their damn colds!!
I feel like I’m forever poorly with something, then when I’m over that I get ill with something else

I’ve got a cough now, but it’s a dry non-productive cough so basically gives me a pounding headache. Which gets worse with every cough

Baby wouldn’t stop feeding which weirdly makes the headache worse but OH fed her that 2oz I expressed before. Which she downed in about a minute! Hooray 1 mins rest for me!

    Need to sleep ASAP:(

@frenchfancy2014 I wish I could go to London! If only I had the money. I would love to go and visit all of my UK friends and spend a couple days in Scotland(where my relatives are from).

Hey @hgsmith0920 hang in there. Like the idea of sticking up cards on walls. I’m looking at my three sizes smaller dress hanging up as I lie in bed and imagining the coming summer day I’m wearing it

Boredom can be so destructive...at least it can be for me. Here are some things I do: write a note to someone---maybe your godmother???? and tell her all the things you appreciate about her! Write in a gratitude journal---free-write all the many blessings and things you are thankful for. I end up realizing how blessed I am over relatively small things that become pretty darn big ones (like an ink pen!). Get creative! Make a wordcloud. You can do this by hand if you are really creative or you can google one to make on the computer...I think I used wordart.com...not sure. So, I did my word for the year---actually it's two words: stand firm. So that was my large word. And then I added what will happen if I Stand Firm. I will be thinner, healthier, patient, stronger, victorious, etc. etc. So you could take your husband's name, for example and then come up with words that represent him: strong, handsome, overcomer, etc. It's a lot of fun and you can put them in all kinds of shapes. And the word generator I used, I could print it out (for freeee!). Anyway, sorry for the novel...just wanting to turn you a way from boredom and possible destruction :)

@toaljasa I took your advice and created a wordcloud for my word this year which is growth. It's pretty awesome looking! And thank you for your tip about gratitude lists. That is something that I am trying to add more of into my life. And I think when the DH closes his store on Friday I will write a few actual letters to my Mom and Godmom and mail them. I think that that will be much more heartfelt than an email. I'm actually really excited to do that! Thank you so much for the suggestions!

btw, did you know that if you are dehydrated, they can dig and dig in your arm, but no blood will come?

Yes. I had this when I had an operation in July... You're not allowed to drink beforehand so when they tried to take a blood sample nothing happened! They ended up taking it out of my hand, which was not nice...

    Yesterday's commitments:

    - Log everything I eat
    - Stick to food plan :/ No... I swapped what I was having for dinner, though I stuck to a similar amount of calories (very slightly more). Then I had an extra snack after dinner that I hadn't planned. I can feel my motivation slipping a little... I think I'm getting tired of restricting myself so much, I might need to switch my target to '0.5 lb per week loss' for a little while to allow myself to indulge a little more. OR get back on the exercise so I can eat exercise calories!!! (The latter is preferable but I'm struggling with time at the moment)
    - Finish sector recommendations
    - Decide whether to apply for any internal vacancies  I decided no - they aren't right for me. Need to take my time to find the right role, not rush into the wrong one
    - 30+ minute lunch break :/ Ended up working through lunch finishing off my 'why I should get a bonus' document. I think that was worth it! (At least, it will be if it gets me one...)
    - Leave work by 6pm  pretty much, it was around ten past
    - Exercise DVD after work :/ Was very tired but also wanted to take advantage of boyfriend being away and binge watch homeland, which he doesn't like... Watched 3 episodes

    Today's commitments:
    - Log everything I eat
    - Stick to food plan
    - 30+ minute lunch break
    - Leave work by 7.30 (deadline tomorrow, but can't work late tomorrow as have tickets for ballet at 7pm!)

Back to logging food and being accountable; I've been slacking off the last month or so, and it shows. When I got weighed at the doctor's office yesterday, I had gained about 3-4 pounds--obviously going in the wrong direction. I didn't get any lectures, but I felt disappointed in myself.
    JFT:
Log all food, even little snicky-snacks.
    Water: 6 cups
    Exercise: 20" or more
    Study for master gardener's class
Tidy sunroom area--piano tuner arrives tomorrow, and there needs to be a path to the instrument.

    crochet group tonight

Amazing and annoying how quickly motivation and focus can fade. After a good few weeks, I'm back on the struggle bus. Again. But I'm here writing my goals and trying.

    Log all food.
    Exercise at least 30 minutes.
    Drink water.
    Don't quit.
    Make the right choices.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Recap W 3/14 ~ Happy Pi Day!
    1) Snooze alarmed a little too much, but still walked treadmill before work / 2.5 mi 40:33 / stretched
    2) Move hourly / stairs breaks at work = Fitbit 12,999 (really?!?) steps, 250+ steps 13/14 (Lenten service) & 32 floors  If I had looked at Fitbit, I would've walked a little more before bed, maybe gone to basement for something! :D
    3) Remember NP appt / leave office at 3 p.m. / pick up bread on way there = Picked up potato dill bread (my new favorite) at Great Harvest and on time for appt. :) NP congratulated me on weight loss since six months ago AND my high point, but proceeded to lecture me about my 1 diet soda per day 5x per week, and quality of vitamins. >:) I think I will lie on my questionnaire next time to avoid lectures on lifestyles I do not plan to change. >:)
    4) Evening: soup supper  remembered copies of recipe for beef root veggie stew for friends / Lenten service  / 1 to-do  shopped for dog food & few sundries, put away clean dishes, double-checked tax docs, cut veggies & organized Th lunch
    5) Usual breakfast & snacks / leftovers for lunch (defrosting) / choose wisely for supper, limit bread & dessert / net calories green / monitor usual = Another day on track with net calories/nutrients, even with soup supper (1 hearty bread, no dessert), then evening snack attack of pistachios ~ did not log. :s 14c water  Daily weigh-in Th was ok, so maybe I needed those pistachios! :D
    6) Unplug 9:00  / floss  / retainers  / bed & TV off 10:15  though still struggling with clock change & DST >:)

JFT Th 3/15 ~ Banged snooze alarm for > 1 hour (which hubby ignores) & no treadmill before work. Then check tire pressure light on again, so stopped at service station to check & fill. Ack ~ hope the morning gets better!
    1) Move hourly / stairs breaks at work
    2) Class at noon / lunch at desk / supper mostly prelogged / no snacking in evening / net calories green & monitor usual
    3) Evening: choir / at least 1 to-do
    4) Unplug 9:00 / floss / retainers / bed & TV 10:15

    I’ve done 11,500 steps today.

You can imagine how I feel! :anguished:

However the tandem pram is awesome, but heavy, so not only have I been walking but I have been pushing a heavy pram too!
Hopefully I can sit and do nothing tomorrow lol other than the nursery run which will be about 8-9K steps

Yesterday I did all but meeting my macros/calories, pray, lift.

Been having a demotivating week. I’ve been feeling really tired so rested more but also I’ve changed my routine. I use to lift every morning so that really helped me get my day started and follow through most of my goals. But this week I’ve changed it to lifting a night with my partner and I found by night time I’m too tired and sleepy to do anything. I’m planning to go back to my old routine just because I found that I’m a morning person rather. Unless I can find a way to stay up and feel energised at night time....

Are you a teacher too @missheidi ? I was similarly concerned over our half term break last month and we have a longer easter holiday approaching. It’s definitely much harder to get the steps in but I found pre-logging whole days useful and then I could adjust according to activity (move more to eat more!)

Good luck and enjoy a well earned rest though!

Had an awesome day today. Spent most of the morning and a large part of the early afternoon at M&M's house. I had a needle treatment and a nice long talk. I love those mornings. I think we have also found a way to combat my depression/loneliness when the DH works late. I'll go over there and have dinner with them and visit. I think it will help a lot. I think on the nights I cant go over for one reason or another, I will write the letters @toaljasa talked about last night. I really like that idea. Also, listening to worship music helped tremendously last night as well. So I've been doing that today as well. Lol.

The DH is on his way home right now. He's home all night and tomorrow morning. He closes again. Lol. Tonight is the Pens second half of a back to back so our evening will revolve around that. Lol. It's almost playoff time. I'm going to miss hockey when the playoffs are over. It's always the most depressing part of the year for the DH and me. Lol.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

I had a positive day too. But now feeling disheartened as found out I need to revisit the data (assessment of kids’ progress) that took me so so long yesterday! Argh! So what should have been a nice Friday now looks horrible!

    Anyway, today:
    - exercise before kids wake up ✅
    - Leave early (remember taking assembly so bring books) ✅
    - 15k + steps ✅
    - Stay within calorie goal✅
    - 2ltr+ water :/ no, not even with coffee!
    - Parent talk at 1:45pm :D parent had the date mixed up
    - Appraisal update at 4:15pm ✅
    - email teachers re twinning School questions ✅
    - Print for next week ✅
    - Parent teacher meeting for younger daughter at 6pm ✅

    Tomorrow:
    - exercise early
    - Leave early to go in and fix data
    - Stay within calorie goal
    - 12k+ steps
    - Water water water!
    - Update email for parents
    - Parents evening appointment allocation
    - Remember cash for birthday present
    - Early night - no Friday night sugar binge!

Hope everyone is doing ok. Bring on a healthy happy weekend! X
