I'm 68, and have tried Zumba -- the "Gold" (polite word for geezer) version -- a few times. I noticed a class close to me, but it was just plain old Zumba. Was a little nervous about it, but went last night and sailed through it. I was sweaty, and it was a good workout, but not overly tough. I kept up just fine. In fact, I was doing a lot better than a couple of people who were easily 20-30 years younger than I am and who were very overweight. When I was 85 lbs heavier there would have been no way I could've gotten through 15 minutes of Zumba.35

More people telling me I've lost weight - some others just looking the other way which is a little funny too!10

It's 8:30 AM and four people have commented on how much energy I have.
One person said, "You are over 40 and you literally JUMP out of your chair at 8 in the morning?"
I annoy them, I'm sure. But still! That's pretty cool.25 -

Awesome! Same here!! Way to go!10 -
Went to Kohl’s this morning and bought a pair of size 8p jeans! Same brand I always wear, I started in a tight-ish size 12p. They zipped right up, no flab push up or anything:). I haven’t worn anything less than a 10 since high school.19

I have lunch duty every single day--longest hour of my day! It's an elementary school and kids often bring birthday treats for their class. I am almost always offered a cupcake, brownie, ice cream bar, etc. Today the cupcakes were especially appealing but I had already logged my food for the day and I actually passed on it!!! (I did, however, lick the icing off my fingers after I helped pass them out!!!)23

went to look for new jeans at lunch today as my size 22/24's are way too big... found a size 20 that fit perfectly in all the right places. My 2XL shirts are also getting entirely too baggy and found a cute sweater that is an XL
..this makes me feel better about my 4.2 lb loss for the month and realize that I tend to loose inches before pounds

I bought size 2 jean shorts at Target today. Granted, they are super stretch and the vanity sizing there is CRAZY, but stilll... 2!18

I was selected as a finalist as an inspiring transformation in a competition where 900 people registered! Four of us got chosen for this! Soooo excited!
Wish I could share the link without being spammy. Ah well. Either way it's a great Non-Scale Victory/feeling!30 -

On behalf of @JuliBiGoolee why did this get flagged? I once got flagged for answering this question too. What gives? Do people think that flags are like bookmarks or is something more cynical happening?
I've been wondering the same. As I read through this thread, anytime someone asks or answers that particular question, someone flags it. I have no idea why, since nobody can expect people to read through almost 1100 pages to search for the answer to that question somewhere in there!9 -
Off I go to work.....in jeans, t-shirt tucked in, and a belt. And it looks okay. Yes, I have a loose cardigan on too, but MY SHIRT IS TUCKED IN!!!!!!29

Just had to let go of my jeans today, finally. I can officially take them off without even unbuttoning or unzipping them. Time to go shopping.15 -
Someone at work told me I look 20 years younger since losing weight. No wonder I got carded last month!17

Went to town and wanted a big fat cheeseburger so bad even tho I wasn't even hungry (I think i just wanted it out of habit) but I didn't get me one. Then when I was taking my walk today (this is the first week I've been walking to get some exercise) i was so tired and just wanted to stop but I kept on going til I got to 2 miles. It's not much but I'm pretty proud of myself41

I gained 5 lbs! Yes I know this is a NSV but even though the scale went the wrong way, I feel that this was a victory... why? I came back from a cruise with unlimited food, desserts and adult beverages. And despite eating way more calories than I burned (I did use the gym daily and lifted heavy weights with minimal cardio), I didn't gain more weight. I was actually somewhat relieved when I saw the scale as I thought the number would be way higher. And yes I ate pasta, bread, two desserts at times, ice cream, big huge breakfasts, lunches and dinners and sugary drinks. And I did not regret it. Usually when the scale goes up, I can get somewhat deflated but this was the first time where there was no regret! And when I came back to my usual workout routine, I did not feel like I lost any strength or stamina.33

Well, it seems my birthday came early! Thirty inch waist!
My fitness goals for this year included running a sub 30 minute 5k, a sub 8 minute mile, and a waist less than 30 inches. I ran the 8 minute mile last week, and yesterday ran a sub 29 minute 5k for the second time. I need some new goals!
This is amazing!! These are all goals that I aspire to!10 -

Today I was in a day-long training at a Westin hotel near my home. We had two 15-minute breaks and a lunch break. The hotel rep badged me into the fitness center all three times to walk the treadmill for 7600 steps. No excuses even on this day when my schedule was booked. Thank you Westin hotel!30

There's this awesome self-serve salad bar by work. I go often. I grab food, then go back to the office, weigh it, and am good. The last two times I went, I made an effort to grab X amt, testing my eyeballing skills. And, I was within about 5g on everything I grabbed. I might have given a little fist pump today.30

I completed 4 of 6 workouts so far this week and I'm on track with 2 more days to go! This is major since I have low back pain (chronic issue) and developed arthritis in both knees (prematurely). I had to come up with workout plans that aren't the "traditional" ways for building lean muscle while losing weight and its working.
I usually have to tap out midweek to let my body rest and recover missing workouts but I think I'm on my way
