We actually have a little break in the temperature today so I am enjoying reading on the back porch. I haven't done that in a long time. The pup and I used to do that so it made me sad for a long time after he died. Now it makes me smile because I can see him laying there in front of the couch with his head in my lap to be petted.
Okie in the TX Hill Country where the rain chances keep going down, down, down.

Do you eat the same breakfast every day or just plan it ahead of time?
Barbie from beautiful NW Washington
I try not to eat the same breakfast every day, but I do eat a lot of the same types of things for days in a row. As for planning, I try to plan the night before what I'm going to eat during any given day. It doesn't always work out - today, I bought peaches at the farmers market and peaches with cottage cheese won out over the Yes soup I had planned.

I went to check out my front plants and a little green frog was sunning on some leaves! I'm living in wild kingdom! Coming from an apartment, where the only wildlife was an occasional spider, this place is most definitely a BIG step up!

Traveling to Seattle on Thursday has put a kink in my self food processing! I'm on day three not doing number 2. ( Trying to be polite here)! So just drinking a lot of water, coffee, and might look in the store for softeners. Not happy!
Yesterday was my birthday, no worries, I just made it like every other day. I had gotten wishes from family, my sons,( except my youngest waiting to go into OS Navy school but I'm thinking he has a lot on his plate these days). So it was a great day, chatted with you all, hid my first batch of painted rocks, and drank a small bottle of Stella Artouis beer. We went shopping and bought some of my favorite OUI Greek yogurt. It's in the little glass jars, so my thoughts are to save them and put them in the sun room with little candles, or fake flowers, or even succulents. Then I went to my art store and bought 4 new paint pens for rock painting.

Good morning friends. OMG is it going to be hot today and tomorrow. Heat index in the 105 range…bleh! I’m going to balance yard work (10 minutes at a time) with inside work.
KetoneKaren: thanks for the info. I knew tulips and such require bone meal, but never thought about using it on the iris….duh!3 -

Thank you for the "Get Wells" and "Prayers". Everything went fine and the surgeon sent me home; telling Louis that I would be much better off at home than in the hospital. They've had several people get sick after surgery or just being in the hospital. The LINX procedure was not something they do at their own surgical unit. The Hiatal Hernia was also done at the same time. My throat was very sore. The tech, when he came in to help me set up asked if I minded if he prayed for me. Sure you can pray! Nice prayer and put me at ease for the surgery, he prayed for a quick recovery and prayed for the doctors doing the surgery. Then when I left they had put in a card signed by all who had anything to do with my procedure. I thought that was a nice touch.

Ginger, oh my goodness! You have had a time of it! Truly hope that things get back on to a more even keel soon!
Rebecca, Happy Birthday! While I would never have the courage to go to a clothing optional resort, I do enjoy your stories, loved the dancing in flip flops!
Meg, be careful out there! That is hot!
Okie, hugs for you and your pup.... So hard losing our fur babies.
Heather, how nice that hubby is trying so hard with the dancing! I'm loving your trip!
Kelly, happy for you that your new young fellow is going to work out for you.
Lisa, awesome words to remember (being accountable and taking care of yourself), really need to remember that!
Janet and Allie, best wishes to all on the wedding day!
Felicia, your sons are very lucky to have you for a mom. I didn't comment at the time, but I found the photo of your son and his partner very charming, happy for him that he's found his niche and that you are being so supportive, I'm sure that means the world to him. So unfortunate when parents turn their backs on their children just because they are walking a different pathway.
Rye, Kidd Kirby is so cute! I miss having cuddly cats, my last three only cuddled when it suited them. With my two girls I cuddled them against their will quite often. Didn't dare do that with the male tho, he left some pretty good scratches on me when I tried that! The girls would just kind of resign themselves to it and would accept a few minutes, but then they wanted down. They were slightly more polite about it than the male! They kept their claws sheathed, he did not!
Funny story about our male cat, he was kind of a wild thing, would chase pretty much anything and one of his favourite games was running through the house, into the bathroom, round the tub and then back through the house. Well, one night he was doing that while the kids were in the bathtub. As luck would have it, he slipped and went in the water! I was not home, unfortunately, (I worked nights at the time so that we didn't need daycare, didn't have a Kelly in our neighborhood!) but I did get reports from hubby and both boys about it, very funny. The amazing thing is, there was the cat, in the tub with two naked kids and neither of them got scratched! He was a good cat, even if he was a bit psycho....
I tend to do very well during the day, it's at night that it all falls apart. I have set an alarm on my phone to go off at 8 p.m. every day to remind me to brush my teeth. Once my teeth are brushed, I have no real desire to eat, the cravings go away which is a good thing! Also need to start having my shower right after that so that when I get tired I can just go to bed instead of being tired and then having to shower etc. That also gets me in trouble with food. Being tired = mindless munching.
Somewhat busy at work today, which is good, but there are some things I would like to get done today. I may have to put some of them off til tomorrow, it will definitely be quiet then, Sundays always are.
Congrats to those celebrating, hugs for those who need them and welcome to the newbies!

Rebecca Happy Birthday! :flowerforyou:
Doctor did not send my friend of over thirty years to the hospital. They are going to try a different course of treatment and if that does not start to make her feel better going to the hospital is next. My sister in law had it about a year ago and she ended up in intensive care for a week. Thanks for continued prayers.

Thanks ladies! I wasn't too keen in doing anything this year. Being 56, in my eyes just seems like an unimportant year. Now when I turn 60 you betcha I'm celebrating! It's just a number to me!

Hi Sisters, hugs to Ginger (scary when something is wrong with your eyes!) and Kidd Kirby, just because he is a beautiful soul and I am so glad he's recovered from his illness and Happy Birthday to Rebecca. There is more I want to say and comment on, but I am just racing the rain right now, heading out the door to do my long run before it starts (haha I fully expect to get a soaking)
I celebrated my first day of retirement by spending the day in the saddle, exploring the trails of a new forest. It was wonderful! My body aches today from so much fast riding, as I was with friends who train for endurance riding. I am already LOVING retirement!

Rye an RV or recreational vehicle like my motorhome is completely self contained. It has plumbing, air conditioning, heat, bathroom with tub and shower ( but very small). We can run on our generator and use the holding tanks (for dish water and sewage) or hook up to electricity, running water, sewage, and in this park cable tv. Some RV types have less amenities but most have electricity through batteries or hook ups in the parks or by extension cord.
Some RV types even have electric fireplaces in them! (Not mine though).

Hi Gals,
Ginger – what a list! I am so sad for you, and understand stress eating, come as often as you can and we will help support you!
Machka – maybe some ginger tea would help your tummy?

Rebecca - Happy Birthday!!!!
Pip – Rye has a cat whose name is “Kid-Kirby”

Happy Birthday, Rebecca! X
We have a rock painting/hiding/re-hiding group in my home town. Its very popular with the children.
I love your idea about the glass jars, the reflection from the sun will be lovely. I have a small Tiffany Lamp in my hall and, at this time of year, as the sun is going down, it shines through my window onto the lamp and creates a beautiful effect on the wall. It looks like the Milky Way!
All the best,

Pip This is Kidd Kirby:
He is a ham of epic proportions even for a feline. He is also the most cuddly and friendly feline I’ve ever known.
John keeps telling me he’s just making nice for extra treats. But, I know he is very happy to accept treats but what he really thrives on is attention and affection.
My only difficulty is paying enough attention to his brothers because Kidd Kirby hogs the spotlight. I have to make sure (and I do!) to have special attention and affection times with his brothers, but Kidd wouldn’t let me forget his time for anything.4
