Morning ladies~
Slept well, with Tal in bed with me, think she felt better with Alfie and me here, im going to get her up at 7 and get her fed and to the school bus , and then walk the boys.. feed my dfil ,He didnt eat on Saterday ,and wouldnt eat for anyone, Tom tried yesterday as we were both there and he would only eat for me, so I got his food in him....I am hoping that this is a quick faze and that even though I am there almost daily that I wont have to be the only one who can feed him...

Nice wedding pics, Allie and Janetr.
Allie - I first saw your post on my cell phone where the photo was so small I thought the bride was carrying a bundle of birch switches! :noway: When I looked again on my computer I realized her bouquet was made of lavender. That makes much more sense.
Janetr - I don't know if I've ever seen a man dressed in as intense a shade of blue as your grandson is wearing. He totally rocks it!
Yesterday I put up the protective netting around my strawberry patch and sowed a bunch of seeds (carrots, arugula, "mixed lettuce", dill and other stuff). That will sound awfully late to most of you but my garden is at 70°N latitude and with all the cold and rain we've been having, the soil didn't dry up enough for planting until this week. I'll cover the beds (and the strawberry plants) with non-woven cloth to protect them from birds, bugs and hares and then leave them in the hand of God while I tootle off to New Hampshire for a month. Last year the garden was a total flop. My biggest carrot was an inch long and thinner than a toothpick. It won't take much to beat last year's crop!
Our neighborhood farmer has started letting his goats out of the barn, as he does every summer. I see them right now, clustered on the side of the mountain like a bunch of white boulders, except boulders don't move. They'll mosey up the slope - often grazing to well above the tree line - and in late afternoon they'll come home to be milked.
Rebecca - Your comment a couple days ago about all the wildlife you see now that you live on Whidbey Island resonated with me. Out here on "my" island we're smack dab in the middle of nature. From my place at the dining table I can see two nesting birds this year - one thrush and one seagull. I can also watch what's going on in the bird feeder, where we currently have about 8 species visiting regularly. The bullfinch and European greenfinch chicks have learned to fly and are constantly pestering their parents for food.
It makes me SO happy to feel that I am part of this rich tapestry of life :flowerforyou:

Good morning.
Ended up having a solid 6 hours sleep. I was so tired from getting up at 330am to take hubs to airport and purposefully not napping during the day.
Let me clarify a bit. Hubs and I sleep in separate rooms and have for many years. Story for another time. Works for us wonderfully. What I don't like is being alone in the house at night. Just knowing there is not another person around at night is scary to me.
Hubs and I are together for everything (except when he's at work) and it's hard not having his presence. I'll have to get used to it as he is traveling quite a bit this summer/fall. More than usual.
Thanks for the suggestions. I have an essential oil mister that I run with lavender and I use an app called Relaxing Melodies that I play. Part of the problem too is still getting used to the new house with its new sounds/noises etc.

Pip, I'm listening to the audio book "Born to Run" (recommended by Heather and have been listening to the part about running barefoot and in those monkey feet shoes that you wear. I couldn't help thinking about you and your successful running. If you haven't read the book yet, I highly recommend it.
Cheri, Jake and I sleep in separate rooms for many good reasons and when he is gone overnight, the house feels empty even though I'm used to sleeping alone (with the pets). I read myself to sleep.
Barbie from beautiful NW Washington where it will be hotter today than it was yesterday.3 -
Cheri - I used to keep a baseball bat by the bed when I spent a lot of nights alone, and for whatever reason that was enough to make me feel secure. Now it's usually me traveling, and airlines frown on you having a baseball bat in your luggage (go figure! ) so I've had to learn to cope in hotel rooms however I could. I do get it though, and first nights in hotel rooms are always light sleeping for me. After one night, I get used to the noise and the bed. When I'm doing a lot of one-night location visits, it makes for a long and exhausting trip. And, honestly, when traveling, there is an almost ingrained fear of an intruder that doesn't help me get to sleep, either.
Trying the habit-stacking thing again, and taking a page out of the Bullet Journal fad, and putting together a habit tracker, in Excel of course. Trying to keep the old, bad habits at bay, and see if I can string some successes together. Also logging again here in MFP--even though I don't have to count calories on this plan, I'm curious as to how much I'm actually taking in, calorie-wise. So, not changing my eating plan, just checking up to see where I land as far as calories go. Could be I'm taking in more than I think.
Later, y'all,

Thank you so much. They had a rainbow themed wedding. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen wore different colors of the rainbow.

OMG: So True y’al: Perfect! LOL!
About a month ago I had some very painful scratchy feeling in my eye while I was in my very public job. Ended up wearing an eye patch for a few hours. True story: I heard about cousins who lost their eye, rare diseases, had one person go out to the pharmacy and bought me an eye wash, and heard about a bunch of eye injuries.
Had this happened up where I grew up the reaction of strangers would have been at most one or two people would have vaguely gestured in the direction of my eye and said ‘you ok?’ And when I acknowledged I was ok they would smile and move on.
My eye, btw just got excessively dry - I work in a building with a pool and seem to need to add eye drops every so often.
Interactions with strangers are SO different down here. And the scene where she hides out rather than go hug a bunch of strangers: TOTALLY HAVE DONE THAT! LOL
Thanks, you started my day with a very big smile!!

Ok, I just watched that Line Dance video.
Wow that is a LONG line. And that looks like a lot of fun. But how do you remember all of that?

Having trouble with the pictures. But want to tell you that we received a certificate and a bottle of wine for the "Most Improved Couple" at the ballroom dancing.
We reprised all the dances and DH got to grips with the Rumba at last. Learning six new dances at the age of 72 is no mean feat.

Lanette thanks for the Terry update.
Lisa, when I had to travel for work, Joe gave me a little plastic snap knife to tuck into my checked baggage and put under my pillow.

Barbie, here's another view. Stunning Alpine Scenery.

Rye repetition, repetition, repetition Then most of us rely on muscle memory, that is once we get started the body just flows. It's the getting started part that's hard. One of my favorite T-shirts seen at a line dance workshop says "I LOVE that dance . . . how does it start?" When learning a new dance I try to say out loud the first few steps "5, 6 rock back with the right" just to prime the pump.
Heather, Brava for your dancing and special kudos to your husband for participating!

I made a pact with myself 22 years ago to read every day. One reason was to stave off future dementia. My mother suffered from dementia for at least three years before she passed away. One of the first things that she did was stop reading. In my mind, that was reason enough right there. For reasons that have nothing to do with dieting, I had to have a brain MRI a few years ago and it showed no signs of anything! Not even the dreaded pre dementia stuff. It eased my mind so much.
I still read a little something every day. I have a book going on my iPad all the time and have a hard copy of the Beck Diet that I read almost every day as a strengthener for my brain on weight loss and maintenance.
Oh, I also count the articles I read on MFP and internet as reading!

Barbie: I understand the value of a good home base. I can't picture us as full time RVers due to many reasons including our love for home and DH's medical challenges. We can take trips, but he needs access to his trusted doctors. I like my yoga classes and opportunity to ride Arrow. I see us going on a series of shorter trips as time goes along.
Machka: "There is no set date for discharge yet, and there will be a number of steps between now and that point. We're starting on those steps, but our progress will depend on how my husband does with it all."
This sounds good, and honest. Sometimes we get overly optimistic or pessimistic messages from our medical systems. :flowerforyou:
AuntieBK: I loved seeing the line dances, too. They looked like a good time for everyone.
Yoga today and I'm looking forward to it. After all the hard work we did in the storage unit, I have sore muscles that will be happy for a good stretch. DH is on the sore side, too, but I can't convince him to try yoga. I feel great when I get him out on his mobility device while the dog and I walk.

Took my car to the neon Rte 66 sign and found this painted rock garden in the same park. I think I will leave one of my signature RV rocks.

Line Dancing Video: Loved it. But, all I could think was that I have two left feet and would never be able to remember the steps.

Wow, this is a hard group to keep up with! I just spent over an hour going back to read everything since Friday as I didn't have much time on the weekend to be on here.
The weddings were beautiful, I love the simple lavender bouquet. I bet the rainbow colours were amazing1
I would love to be able to travel around in a RV, but I think I would need a home base as well. I wouldn't want to be too far from my girls for extended periods of time.
I have a funny little story to share but other than that not too much!
I bought a DQ ice cream cake for Father's Day yesterday. While we were eating my 2 year old granddaughter, Michaela, was having a hard time getting hers on her spoon. My husband reaches over to help her and my daughter says "Are you struggling"? Michaela answers her and says yes. Meanwhile my 7 year old grandson pipes up around bites of his cake and says, "Are you struggling emotionally or physically"? I don't know where he gets these things, but we sure all had to laugh at it.8 -
