It was a weird day at day care today, so I didn't get to eat my lunch. By the time I got home, I had a hungry headache, so ate rather than exercising today. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.7

8/1 3.5 miles
8/2 Rest
So glad today is a rest day. It was new student orientation and I feel like I led about 50 tours across campus. My legs and feet are dead. Also, I very wisely wore the wrong shoes (converse, no socks of course) for my touring and gave myself a nice blister on the ball of my right foot. Oh, and I signed up for 2 races. Sure, they're snacks for most of y'all, but I'm excited.
3.5/75
Upcoming Races:
10/28 Fitzy's Run 5k
12/8 West Reading Run Santa Run 5k9 -

Ah I didn't think about the running affecting the draw. It's a full panel to check everything lol
Appts at 8 and approximately an hour drive after so itd be 9 am and well Monday's low is 88 and 110 for the high so by 9 am it will be maybe 95 or 100? Guess its a rest day!1 -
No run today, decided to watch a movie with the wife. Ready Player One actually. The book was better, as always, but I had high hopes for the movie. The book had a lot of material that needed cutting, so thought it would be ripe for a movie to really knock it out of the park.
Ah well, once again #MovieLetMeDown #ReadingIsBetter4 -

I make it a point not to watch the movie until I have read the book. *shrugs* I just rather have the spoilers impact the movie and not the book, if there are any.0 -

Got in an early run today that went really well.....Actually, any time I'm able to get out the door before 6AM, I consider more of an accomplishment than getting my run in. LOL.
But if I don't get my run in early, I certainly won't do it later in the evening after I get home from work. My brain just shuts off by then.
I've got another month of training, before my first 5K race of the year. I was unable to run any races last year and a quarter of this year; so I'm really looking forward to it. And this specific race, I generally make it a tradition to run every year since I've moved to California. Hoping to get a PR with this race, but I am also going into with zero expectations. The main goal is simply to have a good time out there.
Here's an early morning photo:
Now....time to play catch up with the rest of the conversation! Hope everyone has been doing well!

I try to read the book first but it's not always easy to do. And I try to leave time between. Like I finished Silence of the Lambs recently (I KNOW but I had to read red dragon first) and recorded the movie. I waited 2 weeks before watching.
I am disappointed in HBO's Sharp Objects. I really thought they'd do a better job and the boom was amazing.0 -
8/1 - 5.59 km
8/2 - 5.42 km

Pretty run through the rainforest on my in-laws' neighbourhood streets today. My husband decided to run with me. Note: my husband does not run. He ran in dress shoes, jeans and a hoodie. The shoes are old and broken in, at least. He didn't die and nothing hurts but he did walk the last mile. He walks fast though. I ran 5K, then ran back to him and we walked together for my cooldown

@shanaber You touched it, you bought it. The heat is all yours now for the rest of the summer!
Today I went to the gym and ran intervals on the treadmill 12x400 with 30s rest plus wu/cd - 3.85 miles. Followed that up with strength training - mostly shoulders, arms and of course core with some squats thrown in for good measure! I will get a ticker set up over the weekend. Right now I need to get to be so I can get up and out early to run!5 -
This month has started off rocky. My issues continue with work and school. On the first the day got away from me and I did not get my scheduled three mile run in. But I did spend the entire day with my daughter, got her registered for school, got her an entire new wardrobe, and all of her supplies purchased. We donated all of her old stuff to a local place that gives it away to those in need as opposed to places that resell it. The second was my birthday. I was supposed to run 6 miles. I only ran 3. I felt horrible, and I stopped sweating. I immediately stopped running and walked home and drank powerade. My pace for the first mile was slow. Second mile worse. Third mile a pace I've not seen in almost a year. Wowza. Apparently I was dehydrated and didn't realize it. Went out to dinner with my man. He and my daughter got me concert tickets (my favorite thing ever) and a new pair of bose soundsport headphones, so I felt pretty spoiled. I didn't have any cake, though. So rest assured that will happen soon!

Hi, I'm new here, decided it's about time to commit to a monthly goal as I'll be starting half marathon training in September (so scared! lol). My modest goal for August is 97 km and will end (hopefully) with a 5k race on the evening of Friday 31st.
2nd August: 5k
3rd August: 5k8 -
Hello, since I loved your great feedback during the last month and try to stay motivated (which is not easy during this heat), I'll join again.
I can still only guess my goal but aim for 60+ Kilometers (~37+ miles). Last months I hit the 57 and if I hadn't skipped Monday, I would have made it perfect.
I assume it will be a bit more since I need to extend my route to get a feeling for the 5K if I really want to join the race in September. But we're still suffering from a most annoying heat and I have a hard time to get up for the 3 runs per week, not to mention making them longer than my c25k app requires as the bare minimum.
