I am new. Going to give this a try. Need some accountability. Focus is cutting way down on sugar and processed foods, increasing my whole food intake. Also walking at least 3x/week with some strength training, which will be a challenge because I have RA and some disk herniations in my back.
Day/Weight/Comment
8/06 = 204.7 starting today. Weighed at work fully dressed. Goal: lose 1.5 to 2 pounds
8/07 = 201 on my scale at home. Had a great first day. I was under my calorie goal. Drank enough water, and had 5 servings of fruit and veggies. No food after 8pm.

I'm back...I was away for the last couple of rounds. My kitchen has been under renovation since the first week of July and I have been without a kitchen and in an upheaval since then. I have basically been eating at maintenance as I lived through the renovation. Considering all the stress and the difficulty in making meals, I am happy to say that I am basically at the same weight now as when I started the renovation. Even though the kitchen won't be completed until tomorrow, YAAAAA!!!, and we still have to get the kitchen organized, I am ready to get back at losing. (I thought I had posted yesterday, but I can't find my post.)
Goals:
1. Beat sister-in-law in weekly step competition
2. Do some form of intentional exercise 7 of 10 days (1/7)
3. Get water in
Day/Weight/Comment
08/06--222.8 Went to the in-laws this weekend, so there is definitely an uptick due to increased sodium from eating out. The positive is that my sister-in-law and I, we both have Garmin watches, are now in a weekly step competition with each other, so that will definitely be a motivation to get more steps in this week. I'm going out for a walk at lunch and then Zumba tonight. Making sure to get my water in today.
08/07--221.3 Got to use the fridge in the kitchen yesterday! Who knew these small things in life could be so exciting. Today is the last day of kitchen renovations and tonight I will be able to use the stove for the first time in 33 days. Went to Zumba last night and so far I am ahead of my sister-in-law in the steps competition. I will go out for a walk at lunch again today, but as tonight I will mainly be spending my time going food shopping and organizing the kitchen I'm not sure how many steps I will be getting in today.

7: 209.8...Post-vacation weight. Did a 12-day road trip with my 3 kids from Wisconsin to Yellowstone National Park and visited all the major attractions on our road; and some less known ones as well. We had a great time, and while I didn't know how much weight I had gained until today, I did know that it was significant. And it's ok! Getting back to IF and HFLC will release a good portion of it fairly quickly as long as my hormones cooperate. Lol. TOM started yesterday. PS - Best food we ate on our trip... Smoked Buffalo Ribs. 8/06 - 184.4 YESTERDAY’S STATS: 21 Net Carbs. 964 Calories In / 3522 Calories Out. 21,386 steps. 9.05 miles. 13/13 (250) step hours. No exercise performed.
8/07 - 183.4 My lowest in 15 years! Gained it all when I quit smoking. Gained it quickly too. Then thyroid died (hypo), then T2D started, then estrogen fed breast cancer (estrogen stored in all those fat cells – diagnosed 2009). But here I am ALIVE, and beating down all the barracades. Finally getting a slimmer, healthier weight. In doing so, my thyroid meds have been reduced. They have taken 4 of my diabetic medications away. And My Breast Cancer remains in remission. Horray!!!!!!
YESTERDAYS STATS: Low on everything because I just didn’t feel well. General Doctor Appoint to recheck thyroid meds which they must slowly reduce. 13 Net Carbs. 870 Calories In / 2704 Calories Out. 14,548 steps including a brisk 3 mile walk in my neighborhood. 6.16 Total Miles. 12/13 (250) Step Hours. Still trying to up my calories but I just wasn’t hungry. Most days I struggle to keep my carbs low while reaching enough calories. I must continue to try to make better food choices. I do find, however, that my calories remain low when I eat extra veggies (which is what I have been doing lately. Yummy summer!) Still tweeking my diet. A car show tonight which includes vendored food. I will try to eat before I go and just let the family enjoy the food. We shall see.

I loved seeing that number this morning I am pretty sure it will go up and down a little bit, over the course of this round. As long as it stabilizes within the next few days, I will be happy. I am moving towards working out every other day, as I do push myself really hard when I do workout. I am also thinking of starting to focus on toning up and strength training as well. Need to do some research to figure out which workout would be best for me. Need to do better with getting enough sound sleep and drinking enough water.

@jaccimc63 At 68 years, 61”, and sedentary, my Garmin has my calories at 1340. I think you may need to increase your calories a bit. And...
As crazy as this thing sounds, it works. A neighbor loaned me his and I did the adjustment twice in a row and the vertigo was gone. It isn’t cheap but it’s so worth it IMHO.

@taxgirl1 You have inspired me with your step challenge. I am a slug. I have gotten up twice when my Vivofit chirped today and run laps around the coffee table. We’re going to the movies today but I will have to make up for that sedentary period!

@ssswish65 , @denswrex -Thank you for your encouragement. People like you are why I've stayed on this challenge even though the last couple rounds have not been great.
@jerier -I normally don't eat too many pre-packaged foods, but I did have a Lean Pocket for lunch a couple times this past week. I stayed well below my sodium levels those days, but maybe the other junk is having an effect on me too. Thank you for the advice.
@VermontDan -I started feeling the dizziness about 4 weeks ago. It was just like I had experienced years before...when I rolled over in bed in the morning, the whole room spun. I had completed the Epley exercises at home last time and they worked pretty quickly in resolving the issue, so I started them again. The trick is, you have to know which ear is causing the issue to perform the correct exercise. I guessed wrong this time. I got so bad last week I went to the Dr. and he did the BPPV test on me and saw it was my left ear causing the issue. I've started the exercises again, only doing it the correct way. I am feeling better, but bending over can sometimes cause an issue for me. If I don't straighten up soon though, I'll mention your diagnosis. Thank you for the information.2 -

@jerier I'm in Ukiah - both fires in Mendocino Complex (now biggest in CA history) started within 10 miles of me and then raced east. My friends and coworkers from Lake County are on their 11th day of mandatory evacuation ... but so far (prayers!) no lives lost in this fire.5 -

REALLY want to get to 190 this round. I'm just tired of hovering right above it. I've been doing so for forever. It's ridiculous. I need to realize that even if I get down to 190, I'm still obese. It shouldn't be this hard. It's not like some big accomplishment or feat. You're going from obese to still obese. Just do it.

I will say that yesterday I didn't eat that much dessert so that's good. Going to eat lightly today so hopefully that helps with the upwards fluctuation.

I had my littles today. Half of the day I'm feeding them and the other half I have to entertain them. So today, we had to be super heroes and dinosaurs, which my DGS calls Roars. ( He's 21 months) My DGD says "Grandmommy, what super hero are you?" I said Grandmommy. She says, "No. I mean Wonder Woman....." etc. I say, "Grandmommy" She widened her eyes and thought for a second. "Okay" We play and do some activities, then she says, "Grandmommy, your house is bored, because you don't have a lot of toys" 😂12

Round 47 - SW 158 EW 152.5 (-5.5 lbs)
Round 48 - SW 152.5 EW 150 (-2.5 lbs)
5'-1"
Round 49 goals: I'm going to stick with 10,000 steps per day and also focus on a small goal related to water consumption. Add 1 glass before I leave the house in the morning and 1 glass before I go to bed.
8/06 - 151. I was inactive and unfocused in my eating yesterday. There was lots of snacking. The first snack was delicious and satisfying. After that, it was just silly. On the bright side, I slept well last night and feel refreshed and on a good path today.
8/07 - 150. 11,000 steps. Elliptical and weights. Ate at the low end of my calorie range yesterday and couldn't seem to get enough to eat this morning. Something to think about in the future.
