After I'd picked myself up off the floor where I'd been rolling around in laughter, I realised that he was actually being deadly serious . . . and that no-one else who'd heard his question was laughing either . . . does this mean that they think I am actually capable of completing a half?
Right now, I can manage a 5k and maybe stretch it to 7k on a good day but a half marathon is like, 21k? I mean, really?
(goes back to quietly whispering that I may start training for next year's half marathon . . .)
Go for it!
I did C25K, then pushed it to 8-10km here and there. Then did a 16 week half marathon training plan and did a half in July. I really enjoyed the training and the race (not last 2 miles) and am signed up for another next year.
It is an amazing feeling at the finish!

Yesterday, I went to Dress Barn to the plus size section of the store where I have always shopped and asked the saleslady if they had Ponte pants. She said yes and then literally looked me up and down and told me I was on the wrong side of the store. I laughed and said I don't think so. She left and went to that magical side of the store where regular size clothes live. I've NEVER been over there!! She came back with two pairs of pants. One in a size 14 and the other in a 16. I laughed but went into the dressing room. The 16 fit perfectly!! They were more money then I wanted to spend on pants, since I'm losing weight, but I just had to have them. I also got a really cute top in a 1X!40

I had to switch up when I meal planned this week so I did all of my meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking yesterday while helping my sister out with her presentation that she has to give. So proud of myself! I usually do the meal planning on Friday, grocery shopping on Saturday (so I can have a little cheat day), and then cook everything on Sunday. I would usually just not do anything because my schedule was messed up.
I even think that my mindset has been changing a little. I had weighed out everything (even the pre-packaged and liquid items) and set them aside on my side of the refrigerator. Someone ate one of my snacks for this week and I actually got irritated! Normally, I wouldn't or when I started this before it wasn't such a big deal, but since I am in such a large calorie deficit (doctor's orders), I work hard to make sure I stay on track! Sent a little nasty gram to my husband and brother-in-law but I will apologize for my snappiness later. I'm just excited that I have taken this more seriously than I have in the past.17 -

Good for you! I was so happy when I got into the regular sized clothes. I found my possibilities opened up so much more.
Advice: Don't go overboard and buy too much till you "get to goal" ok? A lot of those clothes are useless now. Try to stick to the basics or shop thrift stores.6 -
Three weeks of travel, parties, reunions and over indulgences and I gained 7#. Have been home for a week and 5# gone! While it was fun seeing everyone and answering their questions about my new running addiction, I'm happy to be back to my normal routine and diet.
My NSV is, I ran a 10k on Saturday! My time was really slow, but I ran the entire run. I pictured myself carrying a 5# brick the entire time.14 -

I've gone from walking a 21 minute mile to walking-interspersed-with-jogging a 17.5 minute mile.
I can only hold out for 2 miles at that pace (though I'm sure I could've handled 3 miles if it hadn't gotten dark out), but I'm just starting out on regular fitness activities, so I'm hoping all of this will improve even more with time. And considering I used to get winded just jogging across a busy intersection, I'd say I'm doing quite well.
You should feel proud! A lot of people here are deadlifting 200+ lbs, but I'm happy I'm at 70. I started out at 20, so it's a big deal to me. You are doing a fantastic job!
I went back to the gym yesterday for the first time in 3 weeks, and it felt great. My form wasn't perfect, but none of my weights have decreased (although they felt a bit heavier).17 -
I was shopping the clearance rack at the store and found some size 14 Lee jeans. They were $8...figured I could just save them for awhile if they didn't fit. I got home and expected to shimmy in part way. They fit!!! At my highest in January, I wore a size 28/30!!! I just put on 14s off the rack at a 'regular store'. I felt like screaming39

It's been forever since I've had one of these. My (admittedly lame) NSV is that my family and I took a mini-vacation this weekend and I stayed on plan and within calories all weekend. There has been a lot of drama since our return and I'm not eating my feelings, so make that 2 V's.39

I've lost some weight but hadn't really noticed the difference in my body until last weekend. I wore my favorite capri pants and they were falling off me all day. I couldn't believe it. They were always loose on me, but they stayed on. It felt great.19

1. My wedding band fits and I now wear it all the time instead of squeezing it on whenever I leave the house.
2. I’m in love with my hip bones when I’m laying in bed.
3. I can wear my sister’s size 14 hand me down shorts in public now! As they fit better and better I can wear a bigger variety of shirts with them (that fit closer to the body).
4. I went on a week long vacation, didn’t log anything I ate, and came back the same weight as before I left.
5. My mental health has been SO much better! I attribute it to eating cleaner, moving more, and doing a better job of making myself a priority. I have insisted on one hour a week out of the house with no kids which I usually use for a Pilates class or a workout at the gym. So mentally freeing!26 -
My In-laws noticed my weight loss when I saw them last. It was nice for it to be noticed!21

Wonderful job, everyone!! And no NSV is a small or silly one; all successes should be celebrated!!
Ok, so heads up - maybe some TMI. I was having some 'business time' with my partner today and he rubbed my belly...which in the past would make me so ashamed and I'd cry for days and sometimes we'd even fight. But today, it was...empowering? I felt so strong and sexy! I mentioned how good it made me feel and he lit up! I still have some work to do but I think this may be a new area for us to enjoy moving forward! It's incredible, 14 years and we still discover things about each other, through each other. He's always loved my body, belly and all. I just couldn't see that till now, when I love it too.32 -

I’ve had two victories recently. First, my husband and I went on our first mountain hike on a trip to Mt. Rainier. The trail was rated easy overall, but it had beautiful views and parts of the trail had moderate challenges due to large roots and uphill climbs. For me, it felt like such an accomplishment to challenge myself to workout in a different way.
My second NSV came with making my first purchase of leggings at Lululemon. I had been intimidated to even go into one of their stores for a long time. Size 14 and 12 seemed to be phantom sizes online (they are shown to have that size but it’s mysteriously never in stock) so I’d assumed the store would be the same. Also, I’d had a bad experience when I was heavier with some some snotty ladies being rude to me as I was waiting on a friend to show up just outside a Lulu store. A new store opened up near me and I decided to go in and buy the highest size they had even if it had to be a “goal” pair. I bought a pair of size 12 (no 14 to be found) and they fit great.24 -
Yesterday I tried orienteering and I loved it!14
