My husband and I went out and he saw me in my normal coat (size M); He strongly suggested to get a new one. According to him it is hanging around me and way way too big.
When I bought it 18 months ago it was snug, the reason why he did not notice before - I was wearing it as a wintercoat with my winter fleece underneath. That is gone now and it is obvious that it is going to go some time soon.18 -
Today is my 600th day on MFP. Worth celebrating, I think, being as I am a totally different person to the one who signed up back then
Ways in which I am different:- I am smaller. My clothes size has gone from UK 28/30 to UK 10. ALL of my clothes now fit into one drawer.
- I am fitter. I can run up the stairs without getting out of breath. In my previous life, I had to drag myself up the stairs and I'd be out of breath at the top (of 13 steps!).
- My BP and RHR are much lower. My resting HR used to be 100+bpm, now it's between 50-60bpm. My fast walk (5mph) heart rate is less than 100bpm.
- I love to exercise. In my previous life, my total exercise was walking to the car or to the very local duck pond. These days I feel deprived if I miss a day with exercise (and everyone around me knows it). I cycle, walk, strength train and participate in kettlebell classes.
- I have tons more energy and can hardly sit still these days, I always have to be doing something.
- I feel amazing instead of feeling like a blob.
- I no longer have the double chin my dad pointed out at age 11. Or the huge backside that I had.
I cannot wait to see how I look and feel in a few more months time!
Sooooo, predictably, to celebrate, I went for a long bike ride and a couple of walks.
I cycled 31.5 miles. An uneventful ride (thankfully). Lots of sun, a bit of wind blowing. Flowers were blooming, birds were singing, rabbits were hopping around, butterflies were fluttering by. And lambs! Not too much traffic and those drivers that I did see actually managed to behave themselves around a cyclist. Did my long loop (10 miles) followed by the hills from hell parts I & II twice. I then cycled to meet my oldest daughter from work and hit 39.8 mph going down HFH Part II. A good ride.
I then walked with my daughter to her friend's house for a birthday party/sleepover. She didn't notice it was two miles (hee, hee) but she didn't complain about the walk. I have also discovered new routes to cycle, away from cars. After dropping her off, I cycled home and found DH had cooked dinner (AGAIN).
Before my cycle ride this afternoon, I went out for a walk with my other three children as we had some errands to do (including feeding the ducks). My toddler walked three miles at quite a fast rate considering her little legs, albeit with a lot of encouragement (of the "just up the next hill", "just to the end of the road" type). She did really well, I am so proud of her And, on our walk we saw bumble bees and lots of flowers (the names of which were discussed in full, as you only can with toddler - you know, the "but why is that flower called that?" type of questions) and butterflies. We also saw a squirrel raiding a bird's nest - I have never seen this before but apparently they are renowned for eating birds' eggs. So we learned a lot whilst exercising. Not sure if my boys were listening but my daughter was.
A good day Now, if only I can get a good night's sleep (my lovely toddler has been a little too active the last few nights) it'll be even better.45 -

What a surprise...
Congratulations on your logging milestone and all of your fabulous NSVs! You've come such a long way, and I'm sure all of us here are proud of you! (And I'm fairly confident in saying that you're an inspiration to others too.)
It's great that your kids are getting so much encouragement to be active too, that'll be so good for them as they get older. I really feel like I failed my son in that regard. And I'm jealous of you having a husband who helps out so much with domestic things...15 -

Aw, thank you. It's been a long and often rocky road, as I'm sure we all know! But so worth it. As for inspiration, I get a lot from you guys as well. You are all amazing people. It's great that your kids are getting so much encouragement to be active too, that'll be so good for them as they get older. It's been such a pleasure to see my children change from inactive to really active. There's nothing my toddler likes more than a walk to see the ducks, and she always chooses the lake furthest away. She's already decided that we're going for another walk tomorrow (as forecast says nice weather) - to the local nature reserve (a mile away) but she then wants to walk over the "curly-wurly bridge" (over the motorway) and to the next village before going home via the park. That's about 8 miles in total. My boys groaned but they'll do it without complaint.
As for DH , he's my rock and always has been. He reallly is a star and my children absolutely adore him. As does my mother! He's not quite perfect but he's making good progress in that general direction21 -
I walked in the Badger State Brewing 10K this morning with a time of 1:35:42....that's 2:05 faster than last year's event. Average pace of 15:26 / mile. I am so happy!23

That's my running pace13 -
While walking my little dog off leash, she broke into a run. So did I, and it was like I was spring loaded. Ease28

BMI is now in overweight! Small victory.
I took my bikini pictures today for future comparison. It's been 91 days since I started my weight loss journey. My measurements are reducing and my clothes are getting loose on me. By the way it's amazing how many tight clothes I kept buying now that they fit much better. I don't know what I was thinking.
Bust: 36in ( thank goodness this hasn't changed. I can't afford to loose any )
Waist narrowest: 29 in ( -2in)
Waist belly button: 31in (-3in)
Hips: 46.75( -1.25in)22 -
Ran into a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in months... She was totally shocked at my weight loss. At first she didn't even recognize me lol. She went on and on about how fantastic I look.. and as she walked away she turned around and said "and don't think I didn't notice that hickey on your neck!"32

Great job everyone!
For me:
Lately i've noticed that it really hurts to sit down for long periods of time whereas before this was not an issue!
I'm able to walk longer distances/ up hills without getting totally out of breath
Most of my old clothes are too big for me now
Starting to see veins more clearly on my hands - not really sure if this a victory for me
Being able to wear half sleeve tops! (whereas before was totally uncomfortable about showing my arms)

Hubby's birthday dinner last night. At all the things. Today: Not eating all the things.26

So this is a weird one. I think it's positive? But I feel so great that when I'm not looking at a mirror or a scale I feel much smaller than I am. This part is good and I'm happy that I'm so happy with my body! However, when I forget that what's in my head isn't reality it becomes a negative. I was shopping for a dress for a wedding that's coming up and I (for the first time) cried in the dressing room. I used to LOVE shopping. Before kids. I seriously kept thinking "I thought I had lost more weight/inches than this." I thought I was a 12, not a 14 or 16. I thought I was a L moving to a medium not a L moving to an XL.
It was quite discouraging, I feel like I'm putting in soooo much work for very slow and little change in my body. (likely b/c of nursing hormones) But yet this is still positive because it's only in those moments that I'm unhappy with my body. Otherwise I'm quite pleased and willing to stick with it for the long haul! That's a huge win for me!22 -
My 2 are I'm now on my third pair of work trousers, the earlier pairs I could remove without undoing them! Today I let my PT film our boxing session for his website I didn't have the confidence before.12

I fit into a medium athletic pant from Wal-Mart! I thought they were super cute, but didn't want to get too small for them quickly, so I bought them and figured I'd be wearing them in a month or two. When I got home, I put them on to see how far I had to go- and long story short, I'm wearing them on a treadmill at the gym right now during my cooldown!
Nobody ever told me how much cute workout gear could motivate me to get moving22 -

Ah, that tug-of-war in your psyche... "I'm Incredible! I suck... I'm Incredible! I have no self control...." The little roller coaster of life. Eventually, the dips get shallower...
You are doing great!27 -

We set off at 9.05am this morning and did the 8 mile walk. My toddler walked at least 5 of those. Up hills, up the curly-wurly bridge (and down again) and onto the next village.
She only complained that her feet hurt a mile from home, bless. She had a ride in the buggy and then got out again half a mile from home as she wanted to say "hello" to the nesting swan. I should also add that she likes to push the buggy when she's not in it and that was quite hard work for her. Got home at lunchtime.
We didn't get to the park - well, we did but it was packed full of other children (standing room only). My poor little girl, she'd walked so far and was so disappointed that her little face crumpled and she burst into tears. To try to make things better for her, we decided to walk home via the swans and I've promised her that we'll go the park tomorrow when all of the other children are at school.
A really good walk though, my boys didn't complain at all I enjoyed it, especially teaching the children about the wildlife and plants we saw on the way. My toddler can now identify primroses, forget-me-nots, celandines, bugle, hawthorn, flowering cherry, magpies and robins. Or she could earlier today
We also discovered that not only do squirrels raid nests, they like to eat apples.
Unfortunately, due to the time it took to complete the walk (little legs don't move far or fast) I didn't have as much time for my bike ride. Was in two minds as to whether or not to bother as it was going to be so much shorter but DH again said he'd sort out the dinner and look after the children so I went. Had to make do with an 18-mile ride - no time for the horrible hills. In order to save time I decided to go via the more direct route - two miles shorter but up a really long and steep hill. It took me a while to get up there (only saved 10 minutes) but I made it, albeit I was blowing like a blue whale by the time I reached the top (probably looked like one as well). And of course, the good thing about going UP the hill is going back DOWN the hill. But the NSV is that I did something instead of doing nothing.

I've had a lot more people noticing how much smaller I've been getting. But most importantly I've been feeling really good lately31

This may not count as a NSV, but... My Boyfriend played an April Fool's joke on me by hiding behind my bedroom door then picking me up and throwing me on the bed like I was nothing. Wow! Never had that happen before!38

I can walk up the stairs in my house and at my son's preschool without being out of breath and breaking a sweat.

Aww, poor sweetheart! Such a long walk for a little one, too! I hope she enjoys a nice peaceful visit tomorrow instead. And good for you, getting a ride in as well!8
