Lanette I’m going to have to check but I think Victor Longo (“The longevity diet”) said something about fasting and that not being recommended for the over 70 crowd. Him or Michael Mosley. I’ll do some digging and see if I can find anything.

As for heavy/lighter weights, I mostly listen to my body. Once a week I do the lighter weight and max reps, like 40- 75. If my back starts hurting after I use the higher weights(like 11 pounds) then I’ll back off to 8 for a few weeks and try again. I work the program 3 times a week, but sometimes do only arms or legs on a given day.

I decided to do this after reading about heavy lifting- when someone makes a personal best they don’t just start being able to regularly lift that weight. And depending on the source, muscle growth and sustinance should be fine as long as you regularly work at 60 to 85% your max. Maybe not ‘optimal’ bang for your time- but still a good healthy fit making workout.

I’ll see what I can find out about the fasting and over 70 research...

Hi, everyone! I’ve had a busy few days, and am now at a place called Great Wolf Lodge, an indoor water park/ resort for the next two days! I got behind, and probably won’t attempt to play “catch-up”! I won’t have much time to do more than log for the next day or so! Hugs to those who need one, and a smile for everyone!

There is a Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. That's only about an hour away from me. Which one are you visiting? I think there is one in PA, OH, and NC.

Went to the water aerobics class today. The plan for tomorrow is to do Gilad’s Quick Fix Body Scuplt DVD

    SueBDew (((HUG)))

I tell you, I’ve really got to calm down about the Newcomers. Now I find out from an email that there’s a new link for members to register for the website. Don’t know if this means that I’m no longer needed (sounds like it). It APPEARS that the expectation is that new members will input their own information. I’m sorry. But the fact is that if you’re waiting for members to input any information, you’d have more luck waiting for the second coming of christ. Some people will do it, but the majority won’t. And….people have to be approved to use the website. Huh???? You paid your dues, why would you need to be approved? What, are we going to do a credit check (boy, am I being mean). I’ve only been doing this longer than the guy who is doing all this has been a member. But I’m not asked for my input, I find out things that affect my job in an email after it’s done. I tell you, I’m getting fed up. God forbid I ask a question! He wanted everyone to get their own email. I told him that there were members who for whatever reason won’t. So what happens? He asks people to get it. And he gets “use my email for my husband”. That’s what I told him would happen. So he finds a way around this…that’s wonderful. But you’d think he’d get the message that people are afraid they’ll “break” the website. I asked for a letter (in his words) telling people how to change their password. There is something about registering. Not gonna happen if you expect the member to do it! Plus, the file was corrupted and you can barely make out some of the words. So I sent it back to him to fix. What do I do if I get a new member in the meantime? I’ll continue to do what I have done, at least they’ll be on the old directory (I have no idea how to put someone on the new directory – I was never told how, maybe because I’m no longer needed). And why are they asking for information on the application if the member is expected to input their own information and the information on the application is not used? The website is going to he** in a handbasket. Not my problem come April. I’m out of here.

Supposed to volunteer at the Green Room tomorrow. Strung more popcorn today then went to ceramics, then Lowe’s Foods, then bought gas and went to WalMart

Elizabeth in GA – when I’m bowling, I wear this wrist guard which prevents me from turning my wrist backwards (did I confuse you enough?). Ask your trainer if something like that would help you keep your wrist in line. Can I squeeze Pippin now? Guess you’d better do it for me then.

I’m like Tracey, I hate being alone. Same thing with husbands – Vince would stay home all the time, there are days on end when he doesn’t leave the house. I need to get out almost every day.

Speaking of a job – Vince almost floored me earlier today. He told me that he’s thinking of getting a part time job.

Allie – have fun at the casino. You know that’s something that I have absolutely no interest in

How would people "break" the website? If it is designed properly, there should be no way it could be "broken".

Also, most sites now require online registration and allow people to manage their own accounts.

What's the website? **Nevermind ... I found it.** It doesn't look like it would be easily "broken" and it looks like the only place that members have access to, which the public does not, is the photo gallery.

    Another busy day.

Meeting with Rehab regarding my husband.
3 km run to get the legs moving.
    Meetings all afternoon at work.

The first time I ate was about 12:50 pm when I was able to grab a quick snack between my run and my next meeting. Didn't get lunch till 2 pm. I had about 2 min to gulp it down before my next meeting.

But it was a productive day. We were able to resolve some communication and other issues at Rehab. And in my last meeting of the day, I re-learned Dynamic SQL!! That was a bit of fun. :)

Good morning all! Happy Thursday! It was raining this morning when I woke up, which made it SO hard to get out of bed! But here I am, coffee by my side, a load of laundry in the wash and chatting with you lovely ladies. If the rain continues, the kids and I will have to do some "action songplay". Songs that get you moving like, The Bone Song (Dem Bones), Wheels on the Bus, Baby Shark, The Hokey Pokey (which is still the BEST song to teach the kids left from right), Head, Shoulders, KNees and Toes, etc., etc..
Yesterday we walked around the big block (it is about 4 1/2 miles square). We do this walk about once a week. The kids like it because all summer we have been watching excavators, back hoes, bull dozers, etc working on the side of the road, building a new bike path. Well, yesterday we were able to walk ON the bike path for about 90% of our walk! Yea! The kids were very excited (as was I)! There was someone there with a camera taking video of the progress and they recorded us walking and talking and we stopped and talked to them. We are hoping they will be able to finish the last bit of bike path this week, because it will connect to another bike path that we use often and will give us a bit longer of a stretch to walk! The kids really love our walks. We used to really crawl along when they were new walkers, but now we go at a good clip with the kids, quite often, doing sprints ahead of me. They are good, stay on the bike path, and move out of the way for others.
Marcelyn- Omigoodness! Of course we remember you! Very talented potter, seamstress, grandmother of 13almost14, active 50+ friend! Sorry to hear you have been having some health issues! Hope you are on the mend! <3 My daughter in the DFW area is also tired of the high temps. She has a busy 1 1/2 year old boy that stands by the window and yells to go outside. So hot!
Karen VA- Love the pictures of the babes. So...Olivia is the one with baby brother Phoenix? Do you also have a Mia? I know Janet has a Mia...
Allie- I am so glad you are fitting in time for yourself and your friends into your busy schedule of taking care of everyone else! <3
Lisa- Hugs as you travel home! Home. I bet that draws a nice deep breath from you!
Sharon- I got all excited when you said you were at Great Wolf Lodge! We have one in Michigan. I had no idea that it was a franchise!

Peace, strength and energy to all that need it! Sending those, because that is what I feel I need and figure maybe some one else does, too! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)
