Chicken curry in the IP.
DH's younger daughter rang him this morning to talk about her job situation. She is in a dying industry, print journalism, magazines, and her editor has been made redundant and the staff have been offered redundancy, including her, though she is not at risk at the moment. He talked her patiently through all the options. He is such a lovely dad.
When I was thinking through my gratitude list I remembered that, this time last year, I had the most dreadful cough that lasted well into December. Well, at least I haven't got that!
Rainy, chilly and miserable here, so I will do some recumbent cycling for my bonus calories. Got to wrap Edie's presents.
Another thing to be grateful for : I feel I have grown "spiritually" through this process of selling and buying a house. Whatever comes of it I have developed a much better attitude to uncertainty. I have started to meditate. I am beginning to embrace minimalism. I am learning patience. I am living in the moment. I can switch my attention off unpleasant thoughts much better. My 'non-attachment muscle' is growing.
All very good stuff.
Yes, Wendy, where are you?

Heather, What you said spoke so well to me that I thought it was worth repeating. Thank you for all the times you put these great thoughts into words for all of us.

Heather: It seems that there are mighty storms on both sides of the Atlantic. Stay warm and dry. :flowerforyou:
Lanette: DH did sign off on papers at closing and received no money for the sale. That all went to DD. I did not sign off as I was not on the title. He certainly wishes he’d given her a quit claim deed along the way. :ohwell:
Michele: What does BDS stand for?
Rori: Thanks for the advice and information. :flowerforyou:
Karen in VA: We plan to visit our accountant for advice. We received no part of the sale proceeds. That all went to DD. :ohwell:
Thanks to everyone who has offered sympathy and advice on the real estate issue. We are in a stress zone at the moment. We plan to visit our accountant here in Oregon for advice. I think we need to contact someone in Colorado Government on this but no idea where to begin. Perhaps our accountant can help with strategies. I certainly hope so.

Awoke yesterday to husband drastically changing direction on our middle of night negotiation/ problem solving session. Ugh. While his sleep creativity came up with a way to soothe his soul (which remained troubled and for which I’m very glad I hate to see him so disturbed ) - there is a cost, hopefully small, but potentially major, and payment started immediately. I was ill prepared to deal with the fallout on 4 hours sleep.
I did my best and stumbled through the work day (with some unexpected help from my manager - a VERY inexperienced manager and it shows, but a wonderful human being) - then home and straight to bed. Up now after 12 hours sleep. I am still ill prepared to deal with the emotional fallout (and sick to my stomach at the expen$e) but it is what it is, the best we can come up with in a bad situation.
Lol, my husband in the chair next to the sofa just turned around to look at me and said “ You got your coffee and the kittie, right” in a concerned loving voice, I think he heard an audible sigh. He is truly a wonderful man and I need to remember that and have patience as the mess we are in is largely his doing. I know he is hurting too and am trying to keep my angst to myself for now.
Kidd Kirby says ’purr, rumble purr’ and the Exercycle on the other side of the room is mocking me so I guess it is time to start my day.
Wishing you well

Rori What kind of detailing did you have done. I have considered doing it to my car too! Were you happy with the job they did.

Wow! How the temps change here in 24 hours. I left yesterday with 90 degree weather, sweated my hiney off at the fair (if only that could happen literally) and came home to a cooled off, waterlogged homefront. It is 25+ degrees cooler than it was yesterday. Woo Hoo! A fall day for us, it will probably be hot again soon. Early this morning, we received 9.5 inches of rain in a 3 hour period. Our house is high and dry, but we did have some rock wash out of our ditch which hasn't happened in the 5 1/2 years we have been at this house. Our neighbor had texted us and let us know our area was fine so we weren't worried. The bridge to get to our house had water over it but it had receded when we came through. I'm glad I was snoozing away in a hotel 2 hours away and missed all the "fun".
Have a great weekend friends!

Can someone remind me how to hide the picture so if you want to see it you can but it doesn't clog the feed?

Hey...Hey...Hey
Winter is coming and sometimes you just have to exercise in the house. That said, I have these DVD's that I'd sell to someone for the price of the shipping (which is typically a little less than $3, multiples are usually a bit more than $3)
Low Impact Aerobics and Daily Exercise Routine with Nancy Marmorat (this is two DVD's but I'd ship them as one)
Christie Taylor Totally Hot Cardio
Christie Taylor Solid Gold Cardio
Extreme Makeover the Workout Weight Loss Edition
Transform you Body with Brooke Burke
Winsor Pilates Power Sculpting
Pilates Intermediate
Patrick Goudeau Play Ball in Four
Gold's Gym Muffin Top Meltdown
Michele
aka exermom
Just PM me if you are interested. See, I have a lot of DVD's and always want to do something different so I'm constantly changing things. There's nothing wrong with any of these DVD's except that I need room for new DVD's1 -

Heather. This reminds me of something my mother used to say: "Do everything in your power to get the outcome you want. Then let go of the outcome. You have done what you can." Easier said than done. (((hugs)))

Margaret: I had the polymer hand wax (supposed to last 6 months) plus all you see on the detailing menu. Very happy with the results. You have to empty EVERYTHING out of every little storage space in your car, which is a bit of a pain. I forgot I had an envelope of 'emergency' cash under the drivers floor mat, and when they found it, the supervisor brought it directly to me. With generous tip, a bit over $200. Love my car again, so saving on hunting for and buying a new one. I say treat yourself, and take really good care of something that you heavily rely on for everyday living.

Okie It's the 6th option above the box you type in. It looks like a backwards P. If you click on it, you will see spoiler. That's the option you want.
