Had a successful weekend... I can't remember the last time I had a successful weekend so that's huge for me. I always do better when I eliminate wine and cocktails. I have shared before that I love wine... it is so much a part of my life. My circle of friends go wine tasting up in Paso Robles all the time and we have monthly wine-tasting dinners at rotating houses..... so eliminating wine is a big deal for me. I am on Day 8 of no alcohol and I do notice a big difference in my progress. Going to see how long I can keep up that streak.

199 is my Achilles. I can get to it, but stop losing every time. With support from my family and Dr I am determined to get below that mark. I also have booked one of my bucket list dream trips for the end of December and need to be below 200 to fit into a wet suit.

Feeling better. Had ok weekend, not going to weigh daily this week. On track yesterday and today. Drove 1.5 hours to mountain cabin and realized didnt have the keys, so back home and will drive back. They are starting a deck near the creek and hope they finish by weekend. Weather is lovely, crisp autumn day with lots of sunshine.

Had great time at concert. Danced one dance. Hope to get to pool this evening for pool walking. Still not exercising and really need to for more than one reason. When I danced Saturday night, thought it would make my breathing worse but just the opposite happened.

Have made progress breaking the habit of eating in the middle of the night.

Welcome bittersweet. Looks like you've made good progress so far. Glad you are on this site. Congrats on this weeks loss

Raindogma - That a problem for me also. I don't enjoy wine but it is served at all my social functions and its hard to be odd man out Congrats on loss this week

Did good today. Had to pick up BBQ sandwiches for workers and glad I put them in the backseat. The smell was so delicious. But I couldnt reach them.

Came home and had Shrimp and raw veggies with lite ranch dip. Much better for me.

Hi everyone!! Sorry I've been MIA, but work is kicking my butt this year. I'm teaching a media and film class that is sucking up all of my planning time, so I end up grading most evenings and on the weekend. I talked to my boss today about getting some release time to plan, and she's looking into it and offered to sub in form me in the meantime when I have a day where my students are working more independently.

Needless to say, I've had little success exercising much, but I am doing a 30 day squat challenge with some colleagues, so at least I'm getting that done each night plus usually a bit of light weights for arms and core work. I had a small bump up on the scale this week, but I'm still trending lower than previously, so I'm happy with my progress.

Really struggled this evening. Tired and wanted to revert to old habit of stuffing myself with food. Fnally allowed myself some blackberries with sugar free whipped topping and that took the edge off.

8 days to lose only half a pound is not exciting but the charts help me to see I need to kick it up a gear!

Another fairly successful week! 14 days without alcohol... it helps my mood. Still not sleeping well at night. I think when I increase my exercise, I will finally start sleeping better.

    Thanks Cyndy!
I like the expediancy of tickers and they are so easy to use.
They help me push to keep a downward trend.

Congratz on the two weeks dry! Absolutely mandatory for me in a weight loss journey also.

And I agree you will sleep better when you get active.
Some ‘experts’ say don’t workout before bed but I always feel like taking a nap after a good workout and hot shower.
So, I use that and usually push close to the limit of physical effort at the end of the day, drink water or ‘after-workout’ drink then hot shower and bed pulled back ready to crawl into. I dont do anything after the shower like tv or media devices (the blue light wakes you up) and get some great sleep!
Note- best to time it for enough hours so you don’t need an alarm if possible. Then you maximize recovery and are ready for new day
