@7lenny7 That totally sucks! I didn't even know we had extensor digitorum brevises or that we could tear them. I learn something new every day.

I won't know until I see the surgeon tomorrow. I tried to google it but like @rheddmobile said, it's not very common. I think the NP I saw today said he'd never seen anything like it.

I read a few reviews about this surgeon and the consensus is that he won't sugarcoat anything and his recovery time estimates are spot on.

What the hell?!?! All that tendon needs to do is lift up my toe every step, it's not like it's taking a beating! The crazy thing is, I feel great today...like I could go for a run...

IKR but @7lenny7 best listen to the MD. Good luck tomorrow with the surgeon.

@LaDispute57 total respect man! That was a killer course, nothing I could even imagine. You triumphed in all that adversity. The only thing you didn't do was cross that line. But you still are a winner for going through all that!

@MegaMooseEsq great race in those conditions and obstacles! Really nice medal!

@LaDispute57 that was a *beast* of an effort, man! That course you were on makes my course look like a playground. Be careful, a guy could really tear up his extensor digitorum brevis on a course like that!

I know exactly what you mean about dealing with a DNF. Everyone will tell you that you did an awesome job out there (including me) but inside you obsess, and wonder, and deal with self-disappointment...that's the worst part I think, disappointing yourself. It sucks big time. I use my DNF as motivation when I need it.

You will get back on those hills again and you will conquer those *kitten*.

@MegaMooseEsq nice job getting out there and dealing with the adversity...the parking, the weather, and most of all, no breakfast sandwich!!

Hah, yeah, the breakfast sandwich was a blow, but I powered through! That stinks about your toe though - hopefully the recovery is quick.

It's confirmed. The MRI shows I have a tear of my 2nd extensor digitorum brevis, one of the tendons on the top of my foot which extends my toe. I have a consultation with the surgeon tomorrow.

Oh no! So sorry! That sounds painful. :(

I have my fingers crossed it is an easy surgery with minimal recovery.
