Round 57: My 1st Round
F/23/5’3’’/SW 59kg
10/25 – 58.7kg Exercised for 30min yesterday and ate healthy breakfast and lunch and ended up eating heavy dinner. I tend to eat more for dinners should try to control this.
10/26 – 58.5kg (-0.2kg) didn’t exercise at all yesterday, finished my dinner early rather than having late night dinners I decided to eat early and I am happy to see the difference. Will try to stick to this plan.
10/27 – 58.3kg (-0.2kg) Spent some time in the morning to exercise. I realized how difficult it is to burn calories and then how easy it is to eat all those calories, so whole day I was very choosy and careful about what I ate. I went out with friends and I said no to Pizzzaaa I can’t believe I did that!! Wow! and the prize for that is what I saw in the morning today a drop of 0.2kg! yay!!
10/28 – 58.3kg no exercise just ate within calorie limit.
10/29 – 58.5g (+0.2kg) reason for this was obviously all the cake, ice-cream and chips that I had yesterday, didn’t exercise…I will consider that to be a cheat day and will be back on track from today.

@kmfeig87 Yes! Here's to getting it done in the rain. The funny thing is- running in the rain/drizzle is actually really nice once you get going. It's the getting going part that's challenging. I did end up running in the rain Friday too and it was so nice. Glad to hear you did too!5

SW: 212 (9/2017)
GW: 170
End of round 55: 194.6
End of round 56: 192.6 (-2.0 lbs)
Day/weight/comment
10/25: 192.6 -- It's a little bit of a rainy day here today. I am a bit swamped at work, but I hope to make it out to the gym at lunch. Actually change that. I WILL make it to the gym at lunch.
10/26: 194.6 -- such a roller coaster! I thought I did well yesterday. I did have a snack attack last night and ate some chocolate chips out of the bag. I know realistically that is NOT why the scale is up 2 lbs... but I can't help but feel remorse at that decision. Work is really busy, I'm a little stressed about it. I was working from home late last night, and it seemed like a good idea. I did make it to the gym yesterday and had a fabulous 40 min treadmill workout followed by a long stretching session. Today it's Friday, I'm about to leave work, and I plan to stop on my way home and go for a run in the rain. I could go to the gym and exercise indoors, but I am craving fresh air. Besides I live on the Oregon coast where it is ALWAYS raining so if I stay inside to exercise in the winter, well, I'll always be inside which is not my thing.
10/27: 194.8 -- I'm wondering if that 192 something was just a random fluke. Anyway, I'm happy to report that I DID get that run in on Friday, rain and all. It was actually really nice. I had a ton of energy and felt like I was flying! I'm sure I wasn't really as fast as I felt, but it was nice to run and feel good doing it.
10/28: 196.2 -- It is TTOM for me and I am retaining water, I have realized. I'm hoping things go back to normal soon. The important thing is to be consistent with my logging, water, and exercise, and hang on for the ride. Yesterday I hauled my horse down to a friend's arena for a barn Halloween party. It actually was quite a good workout as we played all kinds of games and I rode for a couple of hours. The perfect thing for an otherwise rainy afternoon.
10/29: 196.8 -- OK. Now I'm getting pissed. I really ate pretty well yesterday. I made good choices and a delicious and super healthy dinner. I did not get any formal exercise yesterday, but I had 13k steps just around our farm. It was a surprise sunny day and the kids and I played outside, went on a hike, and did crafts with beautiful fall leaves. Then in the late afternoon the whole family went salmon fishing at a nearby river. We didn't catch any or even get any bites, but it was the first time we've all gone fishing together and it was fun teaching my 6 year old son how to cast. We cast out into the river for an hour or so and then decided the fish weren't biting, so we went mushroom hunting in the nearby forest instead. I stayed in the car with our young daughter who had enough, but my son and husband came back with chantrelles which are my favorite. I then made a yummy shepherd's pie with sweet potato mashed potatoes on top and the chantrelles were the starring ingredient! It was so delicious. Now I'm back at work and back into the routine. I had my gym stuff with me and plan to get a butt kicking workout in at the gym during lunch.

My goals are to really work and try to loose another 10-15 pounds by my 29th birthday in December
🕷10/25🕸 149.8- yesterday I worked out but ate a bit too much, late night snacking got to me..I still managed under my calories but it does explain the "maintenance" I drank 1 liter of water, so not great on the water front. I have been extra hungry for the past two weeks but I finally feel normal again now that I am mid week into my TOM. I also feel good today, totally more energized then I have been the past two weeks (like I was before my cold started... gosh colds last a long time) here is to a good day! 🥂 i am also happy to report i took my measurments this morning and I am half an inch down around my waist, 1 inch down around my hips and 1 and a half inches down around my thighs...what a good start to my day
⚰10/26🔮 149.8 pfft. Ate under calories, exercised and drank 1.6 liters of water. Thank gosh I took my inches to prove my weight loss, otherwise this number would have been slightly discouraging since it is the 9th day at 149.x but I'm not letting it get to me. This weekend I will be away so I don't know how often I will be on and I for sure won't have access to a scale, there will be a lot of walking involved but I plan to stay mindful of my eating and hopefully won't see a crazy increase on Monday. Wish me luck 😉
🎃10/27🎭 -away no scale-
🕸10/28🕷 - away no scale-
🔮10/29⚰ 149.6 finally caught up on everyones posts. This weekend was so much fun and I am so happy that this was what I saw on the scale this morning!! Food choices were so difficult given the fact we were on a bus, given food parcels containing sweets and high carb foods. The bus was all ladies with the exception of 4 men out of 40 odd people (not including the two bus drivers) and we were all Italians..which means biscotti and such. I did track all my food and ate everything sparingly. When we did arrive at our destinations, the food options were food courts, which made salads and fruits rare to come by. I did walk a lot and portion out the food. I was lucky that the B&B we stayed at provided fruit for breakfast, so I took a couple extra for the road. I'm so tired today and I am feeling it in my legs, so I might do some light work outs but I am not fully commiting to anything. Planning to get back to my %100 by tomorrow.

Round 56 (my round 3) SW 182 FW 182
Round 57 (my round 4) SW 182 GW 179
10/25 182 I just maintained last round but hoping to break down into the 170s for this round! Halloween candy is my weakness but I’m planning a few fasting days to help off set it all.
10/26 181.8 its a start in the right direction! Focus of the day: drinking enough water 💧
10/27 181.2 yay! I went to a yoga class last night. It was more of a meditation with long stretching positions using props like cushions and blocks for support. I think we did only 7 positions for the entire 1.5 hours and it was WONDERFUL. I stretched out some tight muscles, and the best was when we put or legs up in the wall. I think it really helped move my lymph flow. I’m going to make it part of my routine and go twice a week.
10/28 didn’t weigh in. Had a busy and fun day on the 27th that ended with beer🍺 ...and it was unexpected...so therefore unplanned. 😕 so on Sunday the 28th was just as busy but was feeling down from letting myself have beer(s) that I dipped into the Halloween candy. When will I learn?!
10/29 183.4 yep. It’s back up. I’ve decided that the weekends are very very hard for me and the weight shows up Monday and won’t go away until Thursday - just to go up again on Monday. It’s a vicious cycle that I’m now understanding, (thanks to this 10-day challenge! Thank YOU!) and so now I am planning to still give and plan for myself some allowances for the weekend - or else I’ll just give up completely. I have to think of it as a marathon and not a sprint. I’m getting there, friends. It starts with your head and then will show in your body. Hey! I think that’ll be my new mantra! 🙌11 -

🎀10/29 - 178.2 - Salt water flush today. Drank it an hour ago, nothing yet. 😦 Lol. My husband went to a friend's house yesterday to watch the football game and brought food home. He sits a plate covered in foil next to me and walks away. I thought it was for him to eat later. I look under the foil, 3 big cookies. I laughed, told him no thanks and put them in a sandwich bag. Smh
Hahahahaha oh Tish, I deal with this tone deaf stuff from my husband as well. He's never had to lose weight, yet his Italian upbringing means Love Is Food.6 -

Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June. This is less than 1 lb. per round but as I realize that may not be possible as I get lower (1 lb per round would put me at 131).
Day/Weight/Comment
10/25 – 161.6 – This is actually better than I expected. Off to another round!
10/26 – 160.8 -
10/27 – 160.6 – Maybe I will make it to my goal this round. Two days now of counting all calories and also watching that I get enough protein. Both help with evening snacking. I didn’t realize how slack I was on the counting till I started looking back. I had never paid attention to the protein because I am a real meat lover but because I have to watch my fat (gall bladder issues) sometimes it’s too low.
10/28 - 161.4 – Had a good day calorie and exercise wise so guessing this is just a wiggle on the way down.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/25 165.6 Back for a new round! Hoorah! My weight is a little up, but I did what I needed to do, so it’ll come down soon. Yesterday was raining, so Thor and I didn’t get in a walk, but I did a Chalean Extreme workout. I must have done it correctly, because it was hard, as Chalean says it should be. Today, I’ll spend most of the day playing cards with friends (and watching calories).
10/26 165.0 Thor and I got in our 4 miles this morning. I’m amazed at how much his fitness is improving. We have a one acre yard, but he spends a lot of time in the house and only runs when cows, donkeys, or strangers are at the fence or an unwelcome small animal is in his yard. This walk is good for both of us! I have concerts with my gospel group this weekend, one this evening, two tomorrow, and two Sunday. All our songs are choreographed, so we get a little exercise. We carry our own equipment and set up our sound, too. No hikes with Thor this weekend, but four of us in the group are watching what we eat. We will hold each other accountable.
10/27 165.6 Early morning departure for weekend concert engagements. A church provided lunch, but for the low-carbers in our group, we could only eat salad (well, I took 2 bites of cake). Anyway, we stopped at Dairy Queen for protein later. For our evening meal, I split a grilled salmon entree and delicious spinach/broccoli casserole with one of our ladies. I thought I would be able to get a Diet Dr. Pepper or Coke Zero from the vending machine at the hotel, but no such luck. My Zevia sodas were locked in the bus, and, yielding to my caffeine habit, I drank a full sugar Coke. That's my big confession for the weekend.
10/28 No scale. Again, I allowed myself two bites of cake and a little piece of watermelon and cantaloupe at the church that provided lunch. No exercise, either day, other than performing and setting up equipment. It was an encouraging, enjoyable weekend of presenting our songs and testimonies in accordance with our theme this year of “Sharing Jesus With Urgency!” Only eleven days before we leave on our 10-day singing tour, and sticking to our dietary goals will be a challenge for the four of us losing weight.
10/29 166.0 A little gain, but I still hope to show a loss this round. Thor and I only walked 3 miles this morning, because the Morton’s Neuroma was hurting my foot. I wore new hiking books and a metatarsal pad, but I suspect the pad needed to be moved further to the right on my foot. I’ll continue to experiment.

@FarmerCarla yes, thank you! It was a wonderful day. I've been at this long enough to know that sometimes you have to roll with the scale and not let it own you. It's great that you and Thor have such a good walking routine!4

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
10/25 131.0 Met my friend Amy at the gym yesterday did 20 minutes on the treadmill and 2 1/2 minutes on the elliptical. I know that’s not much, but the gym is remodeling and have no ladies room and I really needed one. I hadn’t been on the elliptical for probably three years and it’s been almost 2 since I last did the treadmill except a few days last month when Amy and I started doing this together. Searched out my HRM and need to update the settings- the last time I used it I weighed 174!
10/26 131.0 Met Amy at the gym yesterday. Guild meeting last night and I didn’t snack on ANY of the goodies available. I didn’t even look at them!
10/27 130.5 Dinner at friends last night. Pork ribs and roasted Brussels sprouts. Had 1 adult beverage. Today my sewing friends are coming over. I’m making a keto casserole and more Brussels sprouts! Also Cream Cheese Fudge, another keto recipe.
10/28 130.5 Was busy yesterday getting ready for sewing friends so didn’t eat until almost 2PM. They left after 6 and DH was at a card game. My stomach started to growl at 8:30 so I reheated a little of the leftover. I hate eating that late but, as it turned out, we went out late and I didn’t go to bed until 2AM.
10/29 130.5 I had the worst Charlie Horse in my right calf and foot yesterday. It took a few minutes for Carl to break it up and it was so stressful I was shaking after. Today I have residual pain. Going to meet my friend at the gym at 2 with my new HR monitor. I didn’t know Amazon delivered on Sundays!11 -

10/29 157.6Back to my regular way of eating and exercising was rewarded with a drop in water weight. I am vastly relieved. It is clear to me that I can’t get too busy. And I can’t eat out. And house guest & weddings are tricky!
I also noticed that I actually did not feel good when I was over eating and eating out. So rather than feeling like I can’t eat out anything I don’t want to yet because it doesn’t make me feel good.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/25 - 145. Excited to be back for another challenge! I've been busy working, eating and then gaining back some weight for the past few rounds. Getting back on track now. I have continued to lift weights and meet step goals, so not all has been lost during the missed rounds. I started with 15 pounds on all of my lifts and a few of them have progressed to over 100 pounds now. It's kind of fun to see those bigger plates on the bar.
10/26 - 144. Nearly 15,000 steps yesterday, plus weight lifting and stayed a touch under my calorie goal. I swear I would have grazed my way around the house last night and doubled my calorie consumption if it wasn't for being back in this challenge. Thank you everyone for being here!
10/27 - 143. Step and calorie goals achieved yesterday. I took measurements this morning and was surprised to see that although I happened to be the exact same weight as I was last time I measured in September, every measurement (except my calves) was smaller. I know this has happened to others, but figured it was a phenomenon reserved for people who exercise a lot more intensely than I do. Seeing those smaller measurements this morning made me so happy!
10/28 - 144. I really thought that I posted this yesterday, I must have forgotten to click "post reply." Restaurant dinner on Saturday night. Ate about half of the portion, but likely still high on calories. Got home from the event at 11 pm and got that exercise in.
10/29 - 143. Lazy day at home, except for the normal weekend errands. Nice to have a weekend with only few activities. Step and calorie goals met. I can't figure out why my fitbit gave me 1000+ activity calories yesterday. It seems way too high for a day where all my activity came from housework and errands.

10/24 148.4 lunch time walk, cardio at the gym, 10k steps, ate healthy, two glasses of wine and one dark chocolate treat
10/25 147.0 ??? Today is a long day with after school workshops for the parents. We'll be ordering dinner. Persian food is one of my favorites. 12 hour work day - 11k steps
10/26 150 Hmmm. I expected to be a little higher than yesterday but not this much. I'll drink lots of water and see where this goes tomorrow. I won't let this bump lead me into a downward spiral like it did last round. I actually ended the last round not far from where I started, so I could have lost weight by sticking it out.
10/27 149.2 Weight after breakfast because I forgot.
Great workout with my trainer today. My Physical Therapist said not to work on biceps, but I feel that listening to my her is contributing to my freezing shoulder. I'm going to trust my personal trainer to know how to help me exercise without further injuring my shoulder. Concert tonight at the Hollywood Bowl with a picnic dinner - I can't wait and will be making healthy choices so that I can splurge a little with my beverage.
10/28 150 Had a great time last night. Time to chug the water. Food prep day

This is my fourth round. I think the best part of this challenge is that in recording the weight every day with a comment, I talk myself down from the hype that comes with weighing myself every day. Sometimes, anyway. I have to say I still got frustrated with just 0.5 loss last challenge in 10 days. But still, noting that I lost 4 lbs last challenge, I did sort of maintain perspective! Slow and steady wins the race! We can do this!!

10/25 171.5 -- This is so frustrating. Yesterday walked for an hour, hour strength class at YMCA, hour of zumba. Finished day with 1000+ calorie deficit. Weighed in a pound heavier. Everyday I'm hoping for the big whoosh....and instead it's up 1 or 2 lbs and then down 1/2. Oh well. I feel good. I'm not starving. My pants fit.
10/26 168.5 -- I think this might be the real whoosh....although yesterday a couple hours after eating bacon and fathead pizza for lunch I got queasy and just couldn't fathom dinner, so was well under calories. 15000 steps yesterday including a walk and zumba. Also did water aerobics. Hoping this number sticks.
10/27 168 -- So excited to be in a new decade that I forgot to post it yesterday! Queasiness was gone yesterday. Hour walk and water aerobics. Went out to Chinese restaurant for late lunch. Skipped the rice and had spicy chicken and veggie stir fry and pea greens. Then...just cheese sticks and peanuts for dinner because I went with my son (who plays in band) to the football game.
10/28 168.5 -- I'm pleased with this. Got up yesterday, went to zumba, did a moderately fast walk for an hour to collect extra calories. Big egg scramble for lunch and then went to a costume cocktail party with my husband and stuck to the pulled pork & chicken, no bun, and brie and assorted dips on veggies. My husband and I then shared 3 mini cupcake sized desserts. Enjoyed two glasses of red wine. Seems like my choices worked ok!
10/29 168 Ate within calories, including guestimate of snacks at Costco. Took a long walk. 12000+ steps.
