No, it does not. It is a very negative remark, according to the mods. The mods also said they plan to USE it to make decsions, but they did not say what decisions. It is a horrible idea and needs to be struck from the board. But, eh, not my house, not my rules.

LOTS AND LOTS of people assume that. It is the most natural thing to think for most people when they see it. All the other options are positive, so "woo" looks like "woohoo." It is why the button is beyond stupid. But, as I keep telling myself, not my house, not my rules.
It is best to just completely ignore it.2 -
Today I decided to listen to a comedy playlist on Spotify while running. Not a good idea. At times I was laughing out loud and I learned it is hard to run and laugh that hard. So I kept stopping to walk. Slowest four miles I've run in a while. But it was fun anyway!
One more day of "deloading" on the Transform app and then I will be heavy lifting again. Yikes!
11/1 - 4 miles
11/2 - rest day
11/3 - 44 miles cycling + transform app - deload week, arms
11/4 - 3 miles + transform app - deload - legs
11/5 - 4 miles + transform app - deload - back
11/6 - 4 miles + tbd

If I see a 'woo' in this particular thread I assume it's a positive 'woohoo!' In any other thread I assume it's a negative 'you're talking out of your backside'.4 -
Hello again fellow runners! I ran 5.3 miles this morning, which brings my total for November so far to 28 miles- only 102 to go!14

@eleanorhawkins - isn't it amazing how that happens!?! I too spent my life rarely speaking up, was terrified of doing presentations of any kind and as I got into better and better shape my self confidence completely changed from 0 to I don't know what. It was good because my job changed not long after to going to client sites and giving lots of presentations. My trainer told me it was one of the changes he likes best; that I now have a sense of being able to take on the world and do anything I set my mind to!eleanorhawkins wrote: »I missed the beginning of month question. i was a people pleaser. now. not so much. years in al anon and 11 years of practicum helped me learn.

New to the group, but I have been running some for about a year and lurking on the running threads for quite a while. I am currently using a 5K to 10K trainer to get ready for my first 10K in February and my first half-marathon later in the year! I never considered myself a "runner" and always thought once I got to the point where I could run a 5K I would just hang out at that distance. But, it truly is addicting seeing my distance and time improve!
My goal for the month is 50 miles estimated by the workouts on the trainer I'm using.

Today's run was 4.2 miles and it was beautiful. It was a little chilly (for me) so I was slow getting out the door. One good thing about running in the summer heat is I never have to think about what to wear. Shorts and tank tops are always right. But when it is cool it is harder for me to decide. But I finally set out about 6:15 and it was just gorgeous outside. It was still darkish, but the edges of the horizon were starting to lighten up and it got lighter as I ran. When I was heading home, the sun still wasn't quite up but the sky was light and the horizon was a beautiful pinkish orange color. I really wanted to just keep running all morning, but I had to go home and get ready for work.
My headphones also quit on me on this run. So I decided that I would just listen to music on my phone since I run by myself and I don't usually see anyone else that it would bother, but that didn't really work because I couldn't hear the music. When I was running along the highway the traffic was too noisy. When I turned and hit the backroads (which I was so happy to do since it wasn't dark anymore) I could hear it a little, but it was still hard to hear since the phone was in my flipbelt and the speakers were kind of blocked. It was nice though and running without music was more pleasant than I expected it to be.

Do any of you do the Galloway run-walk method on long runs/races? I did when running with the LA Leggers and for some time after that, although I haven't been doing so for the past few months. I am considering whether to do so again for my long runs as I progress past 9 miles. I'm considering whether the run-walk will help me feel better going farther. I know I should find this an easier decision as I used to do this, but I can't decide for some reason. I'm wondering if it would help me increase my speed on long runs. I think I was around 12-13 min miles yesterday, and I don't want to race yet when I'm doing that pace.
I started the walk/run method a couple years ago. I love it and hate it. I love that I generally do feel pretty good at the end of a half. I hate that I never get into that rhythm of running where it is just easier to keep running than start walking. My current routine is 5 minute run, 2 minute walk. I just read something about Galloway that if I remember correct - he does 1 minute walk, 1 minute run. That would drive me crazy. I think it's a good thing to try for long distances.5 -

@PastorVincent That is hilarious. What a great idea! It would work here because guns are rare, though you may get arrested for the effort.
@sarahthes I can't even remember what that temp feels like anymore. I remember -25 or -30, because I think those are harder to forget. Still, you'd never know I grew up in Alberta. It was 9C with no rain here this morning; such a treat. I hope it lasts all week. Good luck out there!
Today: 3.24 miles: 10 min run w/u, two intervals of 15 mins run/5 mins walk followed by upper strength training
MTD 11.29 / 45 miles
I couldn't do the prescribed interval pace today, but I still felt pretty good about finishing the workout. I have perfectionist tendencies; old me may have given up when I couldn't do it. For this month's question, perhaps that's my best answer. What have I done for tomorrow me: I don't give up when I fail; I pick myself up and persist. I also have gained weight this year, and I feel frustrated and disappointed. I'm still here every day. I'm still trying.12
