Food can never be too spicy 🌶
Cayenne pepper, chilies 🌶, habaneros, Tabasco- when in doubt- add another shake!
I typically choose the nuclear option. ☢️7 -
Lays salt and vinegar chips are not good at all. I am a huge fan of salt n vinegar chips, but hate lays. I like my chips with a nice caking of flavoring. I dislike lays chips in general because they always leave me with an oily taste in my mouth.
All my friends and family members seem to think lays salt n vinegar are the best. 🤨0 -
Aubergine, courgette and goats cheese should all be banished to a big black hole, never to be seen or heard of again.2

I share this unpopular opinion with you. For some reason when the phrase "food is fuel" is spoken some people think that means I don't like food, don't care what I eat and/or force myself to eat unappetizing things. NOT true. The complete opposite, in fact. I love food and will only eat things I truly enjoy.
To me, the phrase means to pay attention to the quality of your "fuel" rather than assign emotions to it. I pay attention to the type of fuel I put in my truck the same way I monitor the quality and quantity of fuel for my body.
Not being snarky here, but I totally admit when I hear or read people talking about having a "food is fuel" mindset, I don't imagine that they enjoy food often if ever. I imagine they always say no to sugar, white foods, etc. I imagine they eat unseasoned chicken breasts, green vegetables, plain oatmeal or beans, and so on, with maybe a protein shake here & there.
The subsequent comments make more sense to me though, absolutely.

Are you talking about the actual "real" sweet potato from the produce department properly cooked? The canned orange sludge (which I admit to eating) is a completely different thing IMO.3 -

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I also think "food is fuel." I eat the stuff I like, but I also say no to things because I don't need to eat just to eat. Similarly, I don't put gas in my car just to put gas in it. And I'd never overfill the tank so it's bursting. Even though my car should only get premium, sometimes I put in unleaded because it's cheaper and I'm not interested in spending 4.50 a gallon. Same with food - I eat high quality and lower quality stuff, some more nutritious than others. It's all food, some of it just makes me feel and move better than others. Even though I eat because I need to function, I still eat the stuff I find tasty and I do look forward to eating out and trying new stuff because if I'd have to eat anyways, may as well have it be something yummy.5 -
I don't like tea or coffee, it's too bitter! I'm trying to get used to drinking unsweetened tea, but it's gonna take time. Although when I went to h mart recently and a woman at a dumpling shop happily gave everyone who ordered something a cup of green tea I had an easier time making myself drink most of it because of how sweet I thought that was!0

I hate eggs Benedict. Runny egg yolks mixed with that icky hollandaise sauce makes me gag.1

Roasted Brussels sprouts are the best vegetable.16

BBQ sauce is disgusting.
Single handedly ruins a good BBQ (and specifically Pulled pork).2 -

I'm in 100% agreement with this.3 -

Sometimes I think you are my twin, separated at birth. It's not my single favorite, but I get it infrequently enough that I will have some whenever it's available. I like them cut in half, flat side up, lightly sprayed with olive oil and Trader Joe's Everyday Seasoning fresh ground over them.1 -

I thought I hated cauliflower until I tried it roasted with olive oil. My husband is still a bit miffed about all the cauliflower-less years he suffered through our marriage4 -

Drizzle a whole head of cauliflower with olive oil, rub in your fav spice mix and roast as is in the oven 1h at 425F.
30min covered with aluminum foil and 30min foiled removed. Its something else
I like that idea! Cauliflower is a pain to cut up.1 -

Speaking of Trader Joe's and Brussels sprouts, it's my favorite time of year. They're selling the whole stalks very cheaply right now.
I love the tasty suckers, but they do tend to be expensive.0 -
I know this is a very unpopular opinion but not about the taste of food.
I think it's kind of gross/inappropriate to snack/eat throughout the day at your work desk. I know, I know, people have different needs and busy jobs and whatever else. But to me, the grazing while working is kind of nasty even if you have a private office and keep it clean. I just would rather not see peoples' snacks except in a designated breakroom. I'm sure part of this opinion comes from my earliest jobs in retail when even a bottle of water was frowned upon. But I have worked in offices with people (usually dieting) who constantly had food all over their desks and spent a good amount of time preparing and heating food and carrying it around with them, to meetings even, and I just found it nasty.10 -

I agree with you. Not just because of the “ick” factor but it’s not necessary to eat all day long (unless medically necessary) and it’s plain unprofessional even if you’re only around your co-workers and not client-facing.6 -

The break room at my office, like many at other employers, has a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, water dispenser and no table. So basically your stance would be that no one at my office or many others like it should ever bring their lunch and/or snacks. That is an unpopular opinion. Packing a lunch to be able to plan what you eat is probably one of the most common suggestions made at mfp. On top of that, I am an hourly contract employee. Leaving to find some other place to eat would cost me money and/or time.
