@SheilaBoneham, Your ticker is showing now. Do you see it? If you are using the MFP app, sometimes the bbcodes lag and will show up after a few minutes. The app has been HORRIBLE ever since UA took it over.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.

I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after.

I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

12/04 - Tuesday - 178.8 - Hmmm...well thats interesting. I guess the weekend just took a day to catch up with me. Yesterday was a good eating day, even did a little yoga to destress and it was a circus at work. Not sweating it though...I felt really good this morning. Sticking to habits today, canned soup for lunch and eggroll in a bowl for dinner and tomorrows lunches. When I closed yesterdays diary is said I would be 170.5 in 5 weeks time so that was encouraging seeing that I'm not far "off schedule" to short term goal #3!

@AJB1014, I used to track my 5 week projected weight loss. Don't know why I stopped. My weight was always a pound lower at the 5 week point.

@aFit50, IKR! I've had a plan to eat that gingerbread with warm lemon curd. I used to make gingerbread and could make it now, but he wants to do it.

Goals for this round are to continue recovering from my illness the last round and see where my weight stabilizes, then determine whether to cut a bit more or start my bulk. Also plan on getting back in the gym consistently now that I am starting to get my strength back.

@SheilaBoneham I’m curious about the repeated prednisone- have they tried an NSAID? Carl’s ortho gave him a script for meloxicam and he is very impressed with the pain relief. He doesn’t like to take drugs so . . .

Okay, I have a question for anyone who chooses to answer. I have a friend who clearly thinks Keto is a bit weird and wrong even though she sees what it has done for me. I have mentioned her before - she tells me every time we go out to eat that she is glad her husband prefers her “fluffy.” I don’t eat Keto for Carl, I do it for myself. Anyway, whenever we go out to eat, she feels she has to point out on the menu what I CAN eat. I’m pretty sure I can see what IS KETO friendly on a menu and I really CAN EAT anything I care to. I’m finding what she does a bit annoying. Does anyone know why she would feel compelled to do this? Am I wrong to be irritated? On a 2 week cruise it can get old. Sorry for this mini-rant.

@quiltingjaine It's hard to say why people feel compelled to do what they do, but maybe you should tell her, nicely, that it bothers you. Something like, "I know you're trying to be helpful, but when you tell me what I can eat, I feel a little annoyed. I'd rather you not do that." If she's a friend, she'll listen.

Check very carefully and make sure you are not missing any pieces of the URL including all the brackets.

@quiltingjaine I know she is your friend, and I'm very sorry to say this but...... she is obviously jealous of how far you have come. If she keeps referring to the difference between her weight and yours unprompted, if she keeps making stabs at your perceived "allowed" menu, what else can it be? I am glad you are enjoying all the fruits of your labor. Don't let one person's insecurities bother you. She will get where she really wants to be in her own time. In the meantime, enjoy that great place that your are at.

Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Since starting keto, I’ve lost 21 lb., I wear smaller jeans, and I’m encouraged to press on. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. Per my KetoMojo meter, I’m in ketosis most of the time.
Rounds 54 – 60 resulted in a loss of 20.4 lb.! Love it!

12/04 156.4 This is what I wanted to see yesterday! Better late than never. Yesterday, my podiatrist offered a $450 custom orthotic insert my insurance won’t cover. I’ll think about it for 2 weeks before I see the doctor again. Meanwhile, I have a wrap on my foot, and Thor (my GSD) and I will start C25K today. We walked 5.2 miles twice last week, so it’s time to pick up the pace.

3. No Bingeing (new attitude on food outside of my home and socially)

4. 20-50 Net Carbs Daily. 1277 Calories Daily.

5. 10,000 steps per day. Mixed modes of exercise.

6. Lots of water, green tea daily, apple cider vinegar before carby meals. Increase my fiber. Reach my protein goal of 80g per day.

7. Check my blood sugar daily for improvements.

12/04 - 176.8 Whoosh. Very low calorie and carb day yesterday to help jumpstart me & get me back on track. Very low on fluids and water because I was just so busy still prepping for the new whole house carpet install Thursday, so I may be a bit dehydrated and that is likely reflected in the large weight drop. Today I will carry a cup & straw with me around the house to make sure I get more water in. December will be a little tough with all the festivities, but I plan on making mini goals and taking baby steps to simplify things and yet stay the course. I’m going to stay smart while doing December in Style!
