@jerier We have been friends for about 5 years. They are the ones who convinced Carl to try cruising. We all had champagne brunch yesterday and I made it a point to point out my carby items - a small spring roll and a small hush puppy. The hush puppy wasn’t good so I didn’t eat it, I did enjoy the spring roll. She had a glazed donut. I drank A LOT of champagne! Who know it was so many carbs!?! Checked my blood this morning and still in nutritional ketosis.
@MadisonMolly2017 Do you look up nutritional info for the places where you eat? Even the most “healthy” appearing selection can be insanely high calorie. Example - well known chain had a chicken pecan salad that was about 1600 calories! I don’t know what they put on it but . . . YIKES!
@ssssanaaaa You can do this!
@abowersgirl I am likely to contain myself around her until I reach my boiling point. I appreciate being able to vent here and I appreciate everyone’s advice.3 -
@FarmerCarla Thank you for a different perspective. I do enjoy spending time with Fluffy and Joe and as I said earlier, I don’t like confrontation. I have considered loaning her The Obesity Code or Keto Clarity, unasked. My improved lab work after the first 6 months of keto speaks for itself. It’s been almost a year since I had it done and I have the paperwork for new.
@brightresolve Thank you! I love that quote!
@tiabirdie56 I think I may have had a Fluffy overdose. We spent time together Thursday, Saturday and yesterday. I LOL at the 🥊 coming off. 😂 Thank you!3 -
@deepwoodslady Donna, Wow! I never thought about it that way! I will have to pay more attention to who is within earshot. Initially, 17 months ago, I know Carl and Joe discussed how this plan is unhealthy because you avoid carbs. I shot that down quickly and also said yesterday at brunch that there are no essential carbohydrates, if your body needs glucose it can manufacture it from protein. I pointed out that the chunk of pineapple I had on my plate was not “Keto” but I was okay with it since it fit in my macros. We were all around the table together so perhaps this crash mini course will silence her for awhile. The approximately 30 oz of champagne I drank DID NOT fit in my macros! OOPS!5

Coming back after an extended break. I'll hop in this round, but I'm mainly just realistically hoping to maintain - a birthday for my middle son, a certain monthly event :P , and a holiday party are all during this round, which makes the downward trek tough. But I'm in a good enough headspace at the moment where simply maintaining won't make me get down on my progress (or lack of).
Female, 39, 5'5"
Starting weight: 167.5 (April 2018)
Current weight: 150.8
Ultimate goal: 135 (ish. May end higher if I get some muscle.)
12/04 - 150.8
12/05 - 150
12/06 - 151
12/07 - 151.4 (was definitely under the past two days, but started my period today, so this jump up is typical for me and generally resolves in a few days.)
12/08 - 151.4
12/09 - 150.6 (surprising considering last night was the holiday party. Maybe I managed to eat well portion-wise after all.)
12/10 - 149.6 (totally shocked as we had middle one's birthday treat last night and I had a rather lazy day in general. But it's also the typical time cycle-wise that my weight goes back to what it would have been, so maybe it's all that. Or maybe the pie will sneak up on me tomorrow instead. lol)

22nd Round for me: Female 65, height – 5’
Here we are again. Looked over all my rounds and realized that I’ve only lost around 3 lb. total. 😖 I’d lost about 4 lb. on MFP before joining this challenge. I feel like I’ve lost around 10 – which I have. I also gained 7. Have to be less complacent about it. New maxim: each round counts.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, loss -.2Round 61 – 160.8 Again, goal this round: under 160
Round 40 – on holidays, gain +1.6

Round 44 – SW 161.6, loss -1.6
Round 45 – SW 160.8, gain +1
Round 46 – SW 161.8, gain +.6
Round 47 – SW 162.4, loss -2.2
Round 48 – SW 160.2, missed most of this round and Round 49 as I was away without computer or scale.
Round 50 – SW 160.2, loss -.8
Round 51 – SW 160.8, loss -1
Round 52 – on holidays, no scale
Round 53 – SW 159.8, loss -1.4
Round 54 – SW 158.4, gain +.6
Round 55 – SW 159.4, +2.4

Round 58 – SW 161.6, -.4
Round 59 – SW 161.2, +.4
Round 60 – SW 161.6, -.8
I’m going to apply to go on a short course in April. That is 10-12 weeks away. So my more immediate goal is to lose 1 lb/round. The course is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time – I don’t have to lose weight for it but it would be sweet if I did.
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 – 160.8
12/05 – 161.2 – Finished my part-time work on Tues. and instead of jumping into all the other stuff I now have time for, I have spent two days mostly wasting time. I did get to the gym this morning though and think I’ve got my head together for tomorrow so I don’t fritter it away as well.
12/06 – 161.2 – Despite going to the gym, calories were a couple of deserts over yesterday and about the same the previous two days so will take this weight and be thankful.
12/07 – 162.2 – Well now see the bump up and yesterday was not good either. Too much chocolate. Signed up for Shrink Yourself when it was on Black Friday sale (annoyed that it went even cheaper after B. Friday). Starting to use their “pause a moment and think” when I feel like snacking. The think part is admitting that this is emotional eating, why am I really doing this, what can I do to address the problem/stress that would work better than eating. If I can just do that I’m OK. So my goal for today to get out of the mini-binge hole is to “pause & think.”
12/08 – 162 – Good day yesterday, concert tonight; leave home at 4:30 and back around 9:30ish so will be a challenge for meals. Guess I should take a good snack and have something healthy when I get home. After all the organizing stuff we will likely be sitting around for 45 min. but not enough time to make it worth going home.
12/09 - 162
12/10 – 161.6 Managed to get through tea & treats times on Sat and Sun with moderation. The food on Sunday was amazing – provided by a lady who is opening a new bakery. Good thing I got there late, really just to pick up my husband, so only had a cookie, a pastry and fruit. Not a great day overall though as I had no proper supper just a lot of snacks which always adds up to more calories in the end.

@cdavisdeva same here!!! It's amazing how much we have grown and matured over the last 5 or so months. It really is a journey and I feel so much more proud and self accomplished now that I have my head on straight, then I did before worrying about the daily weigh ins.
You are doing amazing!! KEEP IT UP!!3 -
Welcome @Dennigrl176 this group is fantastic and super supportive!!1

Sometimes people think it means "Woohoo" as a positive encouragement, not the negative woo! that its supposedly for - I kind of hate that react button. One daily thread I participate in does actually use at as a woohoo react. I wouldn't worry too much about it.7 -

This is my second round, very excited! My main goal for this round is to just not put weight on. December is a huge month of celebrations in Australia with Summer and Christmas but I'm going to try and stay focused during the many festivities coming up over the next 10 days!!
Update: have been MIA the last few days not logging my entries due to a mix of travel, not being able to weigh in and knowing I wouldn't like the results if I could. My whole thing is about accountability, this isn't good enough, I need to do better!
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 - 95.7kg - was a little relaxed today and it shows unfortunately
12/05 - DNW
12/06 - 97.1kg - to be expected has been a very festive week, hopefully can get back on track over the next few days
12/07 - DNW
12/08 - 95.6kg - very proud of my food and exercise efforts today, really took it to the next level!! Suspect I may be a little dehydrated though
12/09 - 95kg - another good day, did struggle with some cravings though
12/10 - 94.7kg - just waiting for that dreaded platuea, will try introducing some new exercise routines to hold it off - MORE WATER!

If it doesn't mean "woohoo," it should! When I first tried to check it out, I didn't find an explanation, so I use it to signify a significant accomplishment. I hope I haven't insulted anyone. Grandma said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Why would there even be a negative response choice here?5 -

12/07--217.3
12/08--216.4 First time posting this round, but I was weighing. I was sick for a couple of days and not doing much. Going to my meeting this morning with the nutritionist since I started the elimination diet. She wants to review my food journal. When I was sick I realized how much I crave carbs for comfort...that was really difficult.
12/09--216.4 Great meeting with the nutritionist. She was impressed with my progress so far and was really encouraging. However, she did slap my hand for my inconsistent excercising, so that is what I am working on now. Based on reviewing my food journal, she thinks it may be the gluten and not the milk/eggs that are my problem. I will be seeing her in 2 weeks and then we should be starting to reintroduce some foods. Went to the gym this morning and plan on doing some cleaning and trying a new beef stew recipe.
12/10--216.7 I really need to work on getting my water in on the weekends. I think if I fill up a water container first thing in the morning, just like I do at work, I will have a visual reminder of needing to drink water. I was planning on trying an exercise class at my gym this evening, but I remembered that my football team is playing in MNF, so instead I will take the dog out for a long walk. I am going to aim for 3 miles.

Round 60: My 28th round!!
12/3 155.6 Not eating out ✅ or eating sugar ✅ until Fri nite if and only if I weigh under 155 Fri AM.
Trend wt: 155.3
Big caloric deficit 4 of last 5 days! Very pleased. I am successfully curbing my calories in little bits here & there, but they add up! Sleeping more.
I got my motivation back❣
1) I realized I exercise a ton. Three times what is “needed to be healthy.”
2) I can feel I’m adding muscle, so scale will stay steady but then drop. AND my goal is Health. Muscles = Health❣
3) I looked over all my monthly average data & saw I need to trim back calories eaten some. Did it!
12/4 155 BMI: 23.2! 👍🎉🌈🌟❣

12/6 154.4 A NEW LOW!! Trend wt: 154.8 Too exciting BMI: Now 23.1 🤩 successfully dropped my calorie intake by >300 per day, compared to November. Ate out breakfast & lunch, though...
12/7 154.8 salty restaurant dinner with my friend
12/8 157 😵 ate lunch out today with DH.
Note for future: Eating out ONCE leads to more days of the same — for me.
12/9 157.4 From Bad to Worse ☹️ I’m completely flummoxed. I never gain this much in 1-2 days. I’ve been exercising, eating fewer calories, drinking water, macros are my normal... sodium is low (although I have eaten out so maybe it’s higher??) a Complete Shock. The only explanation I can fathom is when I eat out, I estimate. At home, I weigh all foods. So accuracy is lower when I eat our. But I could not have been off 3,500 calories x 2.6 lbs over 2 days!
Ate my regular breakfast this morning. I’m sure “this, too, shall pass.”
Hope to be 155 again by end of this Round❗ I’m not worried, just really surprised. Maybe this is what I needed to decide in my heart if I’m going to maintain or lose now. #SilverLining
12/10 157 Continuing to do all the right things. Re-took measurements & they are the same. Lower body is more toned, though. Reminded myself that I’ve lost almost 35 lbs in the last year — even with this hiccup. Good practice for maintenance & a good reminder that I do much better if I don’t eat out.
