Hello I am not new to this site. But this is my first time logging back in, in a few years. I am now 27 years old and Type 2 Diabetic. I weigh almost 350 pounds. My goal by age 30 is to be 190 pounds and to have reversed my condition. Are there any tips you guys have for me? In 3 years I hope I am alive to see my goal come to past. I won't stop working until I reach my goal. It has been a yo yo for me. But I won't give up.22

Hi Guys, I am new here. My main aim is to focus on my nutrition, I don't need to loose a lot of weight but plan to train at the gym 5 times a week and keep track of my food. Thought I would start here.21

Hi everyone. My name is Tammy and live in Andover, UK. Not just starting this because it’s the new year. I have many reasons for doing this and I’ll be taking it seriously. Any advice or recipe ideas would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to everyone on a health journey x X x9

Hello all! Been a member since 2012, but have not been active for over a year due to health issues. I am starting fresh. I hope to get back into my old workout routine and amp up my nutrition. Between MFP and my workout app, I hope to meet all the mini goals I plan on setting for myself. Good luck to you all!!3

Hello and happy new year to you all.
I have just started using this app and it’s brilliant, my aim is to lose weight and tone up.
I am 36 years old, male, I am currently about 14st 13lbs and want to lose at least 1 stone.
I live near Reading in Berkshire, I love to go spinning and weight training in the gym.
I look forward to getting to know you all better
Thanks and good luck to everyone 👍🏻10 -
Hi all. Just getting started. Will be getting married in a year, but doing the pre-wedding photos in six months to give me some extra drive. Just stopped smoking too, so it’s really the year to take true ownership of my health. No more excuses!
15kg to lose. Healthily!10 -
I've just re-started. I used this a couple of years ago and found it good. I am in the West of England and exercise every day and want to cut my calorie consumption.6

Hello all. I have had this app for some time. I used it sparingly in the past and I guess its been so long that the old data has been scrubbed. So it's a fresh start for me in many ways. I love to run, I'm not a fast runner, always in that last corral at races. I do it to clear my head after a long day or wake myself up in the mornings. I feel I do have better days when I start with a run. I walk a lot, I don't have a car - no real need for one in NYC. I know my eating habits need work so I started using this to try and stay on top of things. I, like many of you may need some motivation from time to time, so feel free to reach out to me if you need a cheer squad or a pick me up. I am on Strava if you want an extra follower. I don't have many, so I wouldn't mind a few more myself. Good luck to you all with your weight loss endeavors and I hope you have a great new year!13

Hello! I am returning after not being active on MFP for quite awhile. I am ready to get back at it...I have 100 pounds to lose. I am doing it for me this time, to feel good again both physically and mentally!19

Hello everyone! I actually joined a few years ago but lacked the drive to continue and gained weight back. But through my bad eating habits I ended up having a scary health issue due to my obesity and decided to get back on track. I had enough determination to lose 40 pounds slowly over the course of one year but unfortunately those nasty bad habits crept back and I fell off the wagon and gained back 10 pounds. Luckily common sense kicked back in and I'm back at the gym and I've already lost a couple of pounds but I lacked the drive and motivation to keep me interested. Thankfully I remembered about MFP and joined back again. I'm hoping that I can receive enough motivation and support from my fellow MFP members! Let's do this together and go towards a healthier lifestyle for 2019 and all future years to come!22

Not exactly new but returning. Really need to get myself together, and I'm hoping a change (back) to MFP will help!12

Would love to have some motivated friends on here, i have about 60 lbs to lose, not sure how to friend request on here yet...14

Have used mfp successfully in the past but has been a few years. So I am back and starting over. Need to lose weight and stay motivated. And mfp helped me before so I’m back!

Happy New Year! I first signed up a while back but didn't participate. Now I'm ready to make a change and am nervous and excited. My goals are to shed some weight but, more importantly, to change my habits so I can be healthy and strong!0

Hi everyone. I have kind of used this program before but not fully. I only did it for a few days. Now I am getting back into focusing on being healthy and I decided to fully engage the MFP. I have finally gotten my head in the right place and am ready to start making real changes. I’m excited for 2019 and what it will bring.8

I started at the same time as you. Could really eat a bar of chocolate or packet of crisps now. Good luck.1 -
Hi, I'm Sue. I started early December (2018), and have been doing fairly well. I'm down about 12 lbs. I have a lot of weight to loose, and I have started and stopped over the years. I've been just into type 2 diabetic for about 3 years now. I really need to loose the weight to get out the T2D zone. About 30 lbs will get me there, but I really need to drop about 150 lbs. I'm getting ready to be 57, so this time it needs to stick. I am determined.
MFP had me at 2200 calories, I decided on 1600, but my doctor trumped me with the need to go to 1000 calories. I settled on 1100. I only go over about 2 days a week, but not by a significant amount, so it is showing up on the scales.
I try not to eat what I call conscious carbs, like rice, pasta, breads, potatoes & such. This app points out there are carbs in a lot of things I didn't think they were in, like eggs, tomatoes & bell peppers, but I am ok with them.
I feel like I can do this this time!!6
