I have been following this thread since starting my journey a year ago. Before in both pictures is me at 185lbs and after at 142lbs and down 18% BF. I am 46 years old and just a hair under 5'9" One year spent weight-lifting, doing HIIT, and eating at a moderate deficit

I am 5'8 1\2 and carry all my weight in.my gut and waist. I am 151
lbs and should be about 140. I am 60 years old and high risk for diabetes type 2. I have a monogenic diabetes called ModyType2 which I am sharing for informational purppses. It is often diagnosed as Type 2 and then if doc.prescribed meds ior insulin it is downhill from there. Normally ModyType 2 are tall and slender and need to.control by lessening sugar and carbs. Will share some before gut pictures when I get off.my indoor bike.2 -
I would like to see your pics. I am your height. Your current weight is lower than my ideal weight of 70-74 kg! I carry my weight in my legs. Maybe that makes a difference. I need to lose around 18 kg to get there. I will surely die of despair ig I have an additional 10 kg to lose.0

This maybe will be upsetting to some, but I hope it's a wake-up call for those who are misled: there is no such a thing as big-boned figure. Bones are the same size. Knowing and facing the problem is part of the solution for it.
That's not really true, you know.
I don't need a wake-up call. I'm not "misled". I'm 5'9" - 136 lbs - 20% body fat, so I don't have anything 'problems to face' or solutions I need to seek. The fact of the matter is - most of my bones are larger, broader and heavier than the average woman of my height. This has been determined in an athletic performance lab by a medical professional.
My rib cage is much broader than the average woman. If you measure the bone from the inside point of my clavicle to the point it joins my shoulder joint, that bone is way longer than an average woman of my height. The breadth of bones that determine my shoulder width is wider than the average man of my height. I've also had a bone scan, and my bones are denser/heavier than an average woman. Ironically, I have tiny wrists and ankles - much smaller than the average for my height. I always say I have a mixed frame size.
There are absolutely variations in bone size and bone density. While these variations are no excuse for carrying extra body fat, the variations still exist. Bones are NOT 'the same size'.

That’s fantastic! I remember I had a short dress that I wore one year as a top because I was heavier and filled it out too much. When I lost weight I finally wore it as a dress! Your progress is inspiring!1 -
I posted last year but have new pics
My height is 5’11” started out at 209 lbs and completely sedentary. Reached my goal weight of 167 lbs after 10 months of eating less and exercising regularly for the first time in my life. Have maintained for 5 years, I’m 44 years old and found my passion for trail running

This post is amazing.
I'm 5ft 9 but only at the start of my journey so nothing to add yet.
But fantastic work everyone! Given me so much motivation.4 -
Love this thread!!!! Keep the pictures coming!!
Hoping I can add mine at some point.....
I'm 5'8" and currently weight 181 It's very depressing to me, and my weight has just crept up and up and up in the last 5 years or so.........
Naturally thin to now looking pregnant at 50.......YUCK!
Anyways, my goal is 10 pounds at a time.....hopefully the first 10 by mid may....or some inches anyways5 -
I will be lurking this thread. a bit under 5'9" SW 208, Current 199, first goal 175. Thanks for all the inspiration!4

5ft 8.... started 199 currently 188 first goal 175...eeeek I’m feeling good 😀🙌🏻9

5'8" SW 237 CW 230 GW 185
I've been on a rollercoaster for the last few years....we've been blessed with 5 children and my body took a hit because I didn't take care of myself very well. Now I'm weightlifting alternating weeks 2x & 3x and trying to walk on the 'rest days' - when it's not -40 here in Alberta I
I love the inspiration on here...I need the accountability and encouragement - for me, being mentally tired makes me just want to gobble all kinds of garbage. I need to focus on eating a little cleaner!
I hope and pray that this is what I need to keep on going....I'm never giving up!
BTW, you all look AH-MAZING!!!0 -

Lost all but 15 lbs a couple times couldn't get lower than that but then always gaining again. I was diagnosed hypothyroid in early 2015, but symptomatic much earlier than that and didn't know what was wrong. Since medicating properly, tweaking my diet and regular exercise I have now hit my goal weight of 145. Bf% is 21-22 area. I haven't weighed this since 2011, it's an amazing feeling. I hope this inspires some to never give up, always fight for what you aim for!!! Anything is possible, but it starts with your mind set and determination!

Your story is really inspirational to me! I am ~5’8”, and have recently been diagnosed (about 7 months ago) with hypothyroid/hashimoto’s. My weight and general wellness has been fluctuating as my endo and I try to find the right dose for medication.
You have a very similar frame to mine and I look forward to achieving similar results for myself! I know I’m not too far from it (about 10 lbs) but some days it feels so far away. You’ve definitely inspired me that my hypothyroidism won’t hold me back!!
Thank you!2 -
Still not done with my transformation but decided to share this. 5'10 and I'm currently at 215 pounds26 -
This is a fantastic thread, very motivating and inspiring. Congrats to all who have lost weight and to all the rest of us still on the journey! I'm 5'9", SW 295, CW 280.2, GW 185 (and then I'll decide where to go from there). Been doing this since 7 January 2019 and have lost 15lbs so far. 5 kids, a hypothyroid diagnosis and being 42 has added challenges for me but I'm determined to look after myself better and have put myself at the top of my priority list! I've been looking for groups of women in similar boat but no luck so far. If you know of any, let me know! I'd love to have buddies to help keep each other motivated! Good luck everyone!4

So impressed by all these transformations! Reading everyone’s inspirational stories - and seeing their pics - has been what has kept me motivated.
I am 175cm (5ft 9) and my stats are:
SW 76.8kg (169lb)
CW 64.2kg (141lb)
Reckon I’m pretty much at goal now. Any thinner and my chest starts to look too bony.

Love a good progress shot. Especially because that's what kept ME motivated for a long time - seeing what others had achieved. Especially a tall girl!
[Also, I def posted in the other tall girl thread, but maybe I posted in this one already. This may be redundant! Apologies if so!]
Height: 5'10" (recently discovered... thought I was 5'9")
SW: 250
CW: 147
GW: around 150, but wouldn't mind 145.
Frame: wrist measurement says small frame, ribcage seems large.. but I did birth seven kids, so... maybe that's why. In short, no clue.

50lbs down in 2 years. Have moved cities, switched jobs, run in six 5ks, and signed up for a 10k. Tried out yoga, boxing, and Whole30 (twice!), but in general, just trying to stay moving.27 -

You are my goal! I'm 5'9" but everyone tells me they think I'm taller. It's nice to see someone's pic who has a similar height/frame. You look great!4 -
