About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130. Want to get back to 127-128.
Crept back to JGM10D quietly and somewhat inconsistently in Round 60 but now I am back (for reals!)
1/13 - 132.6 - last few days no scale access, company and special food and emotional and busy at work. So I feel lucky this is my number... glad to be in a new round!!
1/14 - 133.2
1/15 - 134.0
1/16 - 132.6 - finally got some sleep. Super busy at work.
1/17 - 134.2
1/18 - ??
1/19 - ??
1/20 - 134.4
1/21 - 134.8 - out of control lately, work has definitely been a factor and so have headaches. When super busy or in discomfort, I overeat and don't work out.
1/22 - 133.4 - 8500 steps and under my mild loss goal for calories yesterday. On to the next round!11 -
ROUND 65 (Round 11 for me)
5’5” 66 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135-140 lb.
Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. I don’t use my KetoMojo meter every day, but I’ve only been out of ketosis for a couple of days since the second week when the meter arrived. Some of my NSVs: feeling less self-conscious, wedding band fits, smaller clothing, and my happy husband, whether he’s inspired to quit his cigarette habit or not.
Rounds 54 – 64 resulted in a cumulative loss of 33.6 lb. The closer I get to my goal, the more excited and motivated I become! When I reach maintenance, my plan it to continue checking in on these rounds. I really do appreciate and enjoy your company!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 144.8 Hello again! Let’s make this a great round! My scale is up a little this morning. I was up early to cook for lunch at church. My poor husband wass sick most of the night. It may be the fried fish he ate last night that I brought home for him on Thursday. It was a lunch special, but had three large filets of catfish. I meant to throw the last one away yesterday—wish I had. I guess something else could be going on with him. Thor and I had a good walk yesterday, but cut it a little short, 4.8 mi. We met the owners of a dog that’s been harassing and following us. I don’t want to see him run over.
01/14 143.8 I’m about to go to work, so I’ll have to catch up on posts this evening. Monday is my MFP check-in day, so I wanted to enter that before I forget.
01/15 143.4 I could have walked yesterday afternoon, but it was cold and windy, and I try to avoid cold and windy. The high today should be 50F and cloudy, still too cold, but I’ll probably take Thor and walk this afternoon after the Women’s Club luncheon and meeting. My grandmother and great grandmother and two great aunts were charter members of the club, long ago, and I like spending time and having fun with my neighbors. My favorite meetings last year were hula dancing, clogging, and learning to milk a goat!
01/16 143.6 Thor and I increased our walk yesterday—6.4 miles. We returned home tired, and my hip/back was a bit sore. It’s still a little sore this morning, which may account for the small gain on the scale this morning. I enjoyed the Women’s Club meeting, except for the lunch—they went with sandwiches, chips, boiled quail eggs, and cake. Three of us at my table ate a quail egg (they’re tiny 😊), the chicken salad and pimento cheese out of quarter sandwiches (tossed the bread), and no cake. It’s good to have like-minded friends.
01/17 142.6 I expected the scale to be more kind today. I’ve recovered from my long walk and will try to do another walk this afternoon. First, I’ll go play Bunco with my friends. Reading the post about freezing and sub-zero areas has me shivering just thinking about it! My husband and I leave the thermostat at 70F in the winter, and we’re still both bundled up and uncomfortably cold. We’re expecting a real freeze this weekend. I may have to give in and have a couple of glasses of wine to warm me up! I gave up wine when I started keto, since I tend to prefer sweeter wines. We’ll see how I cope.
01/18 143.0 Up a little, that must be how my body coped with the wine and the last bite of pecan pie I finished last night! I’ve been nibbling on that pie since Christmas. My husband ate a couple of slices and half the pie was devoured at a church dinner. I’ll miss it, but it’s best that it’s gone. Thor and I didn’t get a walk yesterday. I was needed as the fourth player for a Canasta game after Bunco, so I pretty much played games all day. My only workout was pushups and situps, and I can’t do many of those. The plan is to keep doing them until I get better and stronger. I worked today, but left early to take a walk. It was drizzly out, but I put on a bright jacket and a hat, and I took Thor on a 3-mile walk, which is better than no walk.
01/19 142.8 My husband and I just finished breakfast. I like lazy Saturdays. I took my neighbor to work this morning. I heard her yelling at my gate. For some reason, her car was in her front yard, stuck in the mud, and she couldn’t find her keys or phone. I’m grateful that’s not my day and grateful we don’t have snow like so much of the country. I feel particularly blessed. 😊 I hope the rest of you have a blessed day, too, especially you snow lovers.
01/20 143.4 No explanation. Perhaps the Lord is humbling me. We went to a buffet last night, and, while my husband ate ice cream and cookies, I finished his steak as my dessert. Thor and I expect to take a walk after church, which may keep the scale up again tomorrow. I’d like to finish the near 142. We’ll see. I know the last 10 lb. loss can be a struggle. My sights are set on a steady 135 before I begin maintenance. I know all my days are blessed, but Sundays are still special. Have a blessed day!
01/21 143.6 Thor and I took a 6.4 mile walk yesterday, so I didn’t expect the scale to be kind—maybe tomorrow. (fingers crossed) I rose early for work, too, and that never helps. I had to watch the super blood wolf moon lunar eclipse last night. What was a treat! I left work early and thought of walking again, but it’s uncomfortably windy out, so I choose to stay inside. Maybe I’ll cook or clean or both! I have to complete my sit-ups and push-ups, too.
01/22 141.6 I expected a drop after a day of rest from walking, but this is more than I hoped for. I thought my sit-ups and pushups last night might be a problem, but I’m probably not doing enough to cause fluid retention. I’ll work on that! I want to walk today, but the wind sounds vicious. I have singing practice this evening, so I have to make up my mind soon about the walk. Another quick 10 days has passed, and I’ll see you tomorrow (Good Lord willing and the Church don’t rise) for a fresh start!

Back again for another challenge. Stayed at 150 something for the last 4 days of round 64. Looking forward to breaking into the new decade. My body seems to be having a pretty hard time of letting go of the 150’s. My round 64 end weight was 150.2. My goal for round 65 is going to be 148. Hopefully I see a nice whoosh in this round since last round I didn’t really get anywhere. Although I did get back to my pre-Christmas weight and had my lowest 10 day average so far. So I am taking those both as wins and moving on.
1/13 - 151.7 this must be the bounce from Friday nights beers and food. We were just celebrating it being Friday and being done with last week. Did well yesterday and plan on doing the same today. Probably will be back down tomorrow.
1/14 - 154.3 so my plan was going great until about 6 when we had some unexpected old friends show up. Drinks and a very late dinner. Water and a healthy lunch and dinner is what I have in store for today. I will be back down tomorrow. I always gain a couple of pounds after a night of drinking. I was really irritated with my results last week, so I was felling sorry for myself. Today I'm back on the wagon. Clean eating, lots of water, and no alcohol till Saturday.
1/15 - 151.6 and back down. Lol, did great yesterday. On track today so far. 2 of my kids had dentist appt yesterday, the other 2 had them today. Didn’t get fast food for myself either day. So that’s a win. Yesterday was the last time I will have to accompany my 2nd oldest to an appt. He will be 18 in a couple of weeks, so another win for this week. 2 kids over the age of 18 (in 2-1/2 weeks) and 3 to go. It goes by so quick I swear. Now if I could just see a 140 something on the scale this week it would be a 5 star win!
1/16 - 148.9 I finally got the whoosh I had been waiting for. I'm sure I will bounce around here for a week or so, but that's fine. I am just happy I finally made it in the new decade. I have been trying to do this since the middle of December. Made my goal this round, so I am just going to try and maintain and be grateful. Also this means I have officially lost 30 pounds. Took me almost 7 months, but I made it. So my new goal this round is to get well acclimated in the 140's and not go past 149.9 again. Yeaah!
1/17 - 149.6 I stepped on the scale a couple of times this morning. I got this number twice and 148.9 twice. I will have to clean underneath it and reset it when I get home. Just didn't have time this am, kids were not cooperating with me and I was trying to put dinner in the crock pot so I didn't have to deal with that tonight. So I am going with the bigger one just in case. I'm still happy it is in the 140's and I actually expected it to go up anyways. Had a larger dinner than usual last night and for some reason I was starving all day yesterday. I also had a very big whoosh the day before, so figured it may bounce around for a couple of days. Still happy and excited I finally made it.
1/18 - 148.9 good day yesterday and all set for today. Mon-Fri are so easy to stay on track for me. It's the weekends that just get all messed up for me. DH works tomorrow so just planning on cleaning and getting the shopping done for the week. Happy with my progress this round so far. If I can maintain and finish around 148.xx I will take it as a win.
1/19 - 148.2 A little surprised. May have a bump up tomorrow. Had a couple of beers with DH, then a couple of mini size butterfingers bars after dinner last night. I was still under calories, but beer always seems to make me gain a little bit the next day. I had a terrible day at work and didn’t really eat anything. My calories were under 400 at 6 last night. So it just seemed like I had the munchies all night. I like the downward trend I have seen this week and today. I will accept it if it goes up a bit tomorrow. Crazy we are almost done with another round already.
1/20 - 150.6 watched ufc fights last night and ate everything in site. Also drank a lot. I just can not keep it together on the weekends. Plan for today no alcohol, drink lots of water, and not eat everything and anything I can.
1/21 - 154 not happy this morning, 6 pound gain in 2 days. I know it's all water weight and by Wed I will be back into the 140's. My body is just so weird. I did way better yesterday. I was super busy, cleaned my daughters room and did 8 loads of laundry. I have 4 kids living at home, so that's just a normal Sunday. Lol, I think I did good on water and no alcohol. I think this is just the rest of my bump up from Friday and Saturday night. It happens every weekend. At least I know it will be gone soon, but still annoying that I can't just have a regular weekend and eat maintenance calories without jumping up on the scale all crazy. It seems like the closer I get to my goal the more I am fluctuating on the scale. Don't know if I will be back down to 140's for tomorrow.
1/22 - 151.0 I am ending this round just under a pound higher than I ended round 64 (150.2) . I know tomorrow I will have the rest of my weekend weight off so I am ok with that. I am hoping the next round I firmly get into the 140 decade and don't see a 150.xx at all. This round I had my lowest 10 day average since I started these challenges and am super happy with that! On to the next one!13 -

Day/Weight/Comment
01/13--214.7 Went to the gym this morning to do some weightlifting. Other than going to Lowe's this morning to buy some wood, I will be vegitating the rest of the day.
01/14--215.8 Woke up so sore from workout yesterday, so not surprised about the increase in weight on the scale this morning and it also didn't help that I didn't drink a lot of water yesterday. Starting C25K today and making sure I get my water in today.
01/15--215.8 Finished W1D1 yesterday. Went to the gym this morning and did some weightlifting. Drank more water yesterday,so just need to continue with that today. Plan today is to hang a door and organize my laundry/storage area.
01/16--214.9 Sore from weightlifting yesterday. I hung the door yesterday, took much longer than I thought it would which is usually the case, but did not organize the laundry/storage area, so plan is to do that today. Also today is day 2 of c25k. Yoga tonight.
01/17--214.7 Weightlifting today.
01/18--214.8 I so did not want to go to the gym yesterday, so I made a deal with myself that I would go to the gym and give myself the ok to not do any of the lifts that I didn't feel like doing. In the end I went to the gym and followed the whole program except for 1 lift, so I am very proud of myself. Today is day 3 of c25k, hoping the rain holds out when I plan to go running. Elimination diet has definitely gotten much easier and my digestive system feels so much better, but I so miss a lot of foods...two more weeks until my next meeting with the nutritionist.
01/19--215.1 Finished week 1 of c25k yesterday. Today is rest day, so other than taking dog out for a walk no real scheduled exercise for today. Bought some new door handles yesterday, so I may get motivated and replace the interior door handles today.
01/20--214.5 Went to the gym and did some weightlifting. Going for a hike later this morning.
01/21--214.9 Had a great day yesterday hiking with hubby and the dog. In the PNW you have to take advantage of the days in January when it's in the 40's and it isn't raining. Today starting week 2 of C25K.
01/22--215.1 Finished w2D1 of C25K yesterday, it was a great run. Today is weightlifting.
R65 SW: 214.7 EW: 215.1 AW: 215.0 (-0.6)
Successes this round: Finished week 1 of my C25K program and digestion is doing great.
Challenges this round: Getting my water in while on a non-structured schedule

@abowersgirl Thanks! I have definitely not learned the fine art of maintenance. I try and work really hard Mon-Fri and then on the weekend just eat normally with everybody else. Not crazy or anything, but not diet mode either and it bumps me up every time. Hopefully once I get to my goal I can then figure out how to balance real living with my kids and DH and still maintain a healthy weight. I have learned not to freak out about my gain because it is always gone by Wed morning, but it still is annoying to see it on the scale. At least I am not alone in the fight!5

5’1, female, 31 years old
MFP SW 12/1/18- 172.6
R65 GW-162
Goal Weight - 120
01/13 164.1
01/14 163.5- It was nice to see the 163s again since I was at 163.7 on Wednesday (my weekly check in date), but moved up to the 164s again from Friday-Sunday. I lost 8 pounds easily since 12/1, but lately have gone to a 1.1 average on Happy Scale. Hope to move that closer to 1.5 lbs this round.
01/15 162.7- My goal for today is to complete a 45 minute spin class, eat well, and drink more water. Yesterday, I only drank 48 oz and woke up thirsty. It is raining here, so I might not be able to get to 10,000 steps. As long as I hit 70,000 for the week, I will be happy. Tomorrow is my MFP weigh in date, so hoping to be under last week's 163.7 weigh-in.
01/16 163.4- I was hoping for a larger loss than .3 lbs this week, but at least the weight is going down and still have an overall rate of 1.48. Today I have a Basic Strength class that I started going to last week. I had never done step before and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I was sore for two days after last week's class, so hoping my body reacts a bit better today.
01/17 162.9- Loved being under 163 this morning! The exercise class yesterday was hard, but I am not as sore so going to get a 45 min cardio machine workout in if it doesn't rain too much. Tonight, I have a wine tasting fundraiser so have to be very careful on calorie counting and water intake.
01/18 161.6- Even though I know this is an outlier, it is still fantastic seeing a whole new number! I am feeling a bit under the weather today so will skip the gym today, but still hope to get to 10,000 steps.
01/19 162.0
01/20 162.6 I have a guest from out of town and took for granted how hard it is to eat out every meal. Tomorrow we are going to a spin class and meal schedule returns to normal on Tuesday, so just hoping to still see a 162 on Tuesday.
01/21 161.6
01/22 162.3 So close to the goal of 162, but I am ok with that since I haven't been able to be as on top of everything from Friday-Monday because of the holiday and guests. Looking forward to Round 66!

This round has been an epic fail for me . Sometimes I wonder whether I should even be trying since this is one of the most difficult periods I’ve ever had to live through in my life. I feel bad saying that because I don’t have a serious illness. However, sometimes financial, marital and other stress can become unbearable. I find myself eating, even though I’m really not hungry, I just need the comfort. I always thought I was stronger than this. Still, I think if I don’t at least maintain some sense of awareness, my results may be even worse. So, I’ll continue to track and report, even in the dark days.

**Round 65**
Heaviest Weight: 235 lbs/106.6kg (February 7th 2018)
Smallest Weight: 175 lbs/79.4kg (March 2009)
First Goal Weight: 220 lbs
Ultimate Goal Weight: 185 lbs
R65 Starting Weight: 105.8kg/233.2 lbs
R65 Goal Weight: 103.9-104.3kg/229-230 lbs
Daily Goals:
Drink 90-120oz of water daily; consume 1400 cal and measure food; no added sugars/sweeteners; around 1500mg sodium intake max; get in 7500+ steps daily; do chi gung; sleep more than 6 hours nightly!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13: 233.2 @ 5:30am - Light eating much of the day which 'justified' eating some pizza for dinner. Water intake was good and I got a nice amount of sleep! Tomorrow should be much more organized, so I'm expecting better results in terms of meeting my daily goals.
01/14: ??? - Woke up later than anticipated and started working from home right away, so I missed the weighing window I've established. Healthy breakfast and lunch, but less meals, less steps, less water, and a lack of measuring for meals all probably did not serve me well. I'm going to look to have my meals prepped and measured out, and remember that starting (or restarting) a process like this can have growing pains even if you've done it before!
01/15: 234.8 @ 6:50am - This was not surprising, but no less unwelcome. I did start my morning off with water, measured meals for the day, and an agenda for the day that includes some walking. Surely enough, I had a really good day that had me meeting all of my goals (except my water intake), almost hitting 10,000 steps, and feeling really good if a tad hungry/crave-y!
01/16: 234.2 @ 7:05am - Glad to see things going in a good direction after a (almost) fully disciplined day! This was a very good day that saw me slightly under steps and almost completely absent water (busy work day). I was still cognizant of getting movement in throughout the day, hit all my other goals, and have entered the craving-free zone that I was waiting on. I'm excited now!
01/17: 231.8 @ 6:45am - Whoosh! Today things were absolutely on point. 7500+ steps, 94oz of water, meals measured and eaten (which automatically controls the sodium/sugar if I don't go off plan), a great amount of sleep, and continuing to make good decisions regarding fitness. Life is more than a little wonky this week, and/but this seems to be one of the things that is coming around and providing positive change. Let's keep it going!
01/18: 231.2 @ 7:05am - great day overall! Trying my first modified diet day to allow me to eat with the family for Shabbat dinner, so we'll see how this affects things with my numbers.
01/19: ??? - got derailed by home goings-on when I tried to weigh myself, and messed around and ate breakfast before I realized I'd forgot to finish! Another modified diet day for Saturday to allow for a post-service meal with the family.
01/20: 235.2 @ 3:00pm - I didn't want to two days without weighing myself, even though this is likely skewed by uneliminated food and water, and recently consumed meals. Even when it is off due to timing, it helps me to make adjustments! This was a good day that saw me hitting all of my goals despite lots of driving and time out of the house. Today also saw me starting a lot of firsts for this process, including new daily exercise, new weekly exercise, and a scheduled daily 100 calorie increase in my diet for the week. I'm keeping my expectations flexible since the new combination might change the nature of my losses and gains (i.e. increasing muscle mass reducing my overall weight loss).
01/21: 232.2 @ 8:30am - Very glad to see that weekend food weight come off and land me still under my starting weight. This was a day of small victories that saw me meeting many of my goals while doing my best in others (getting 5500 steps when stuck in the house and with no chores to do!). I am slated to get an exercise bike within a week or two that should help with getting in weekend activity that is reasonable (i.e. not endless laps around the house lol).
01/22: 232.2 @ 7:00am - Maintaining works for me, especially if it is a sign of a drop to come. This was a hectic morning and early workday that saw me leaving the house without all of my measured meals and missing the opportunity to eat a healthy lunch...so I chose not to eat at that time. As a result, I'm expecting an unsual scale read tomorrow since I'll be changing up the program (eat the 'breakfast' and 'lunch' meals later in the day, and close to dinner almost IF style) despite still not exceeding my meal and macronutrient thresholds. I'll take the NSV of being disciplined and eating healthy, though!
Take away: No two processes are the same (I lost more in my first round this time last year), so flexible, if focused, expectations are key for me to stay motivated when starting out. Conversely, I thrive on precision: not weighing daily, a funky scale (has to be caliberated multiple times and confirmed with another weight before being trusted), and starting new processes that have new impacts on the body are all things that I contended with this round that I hope to have established or remedied moving into the next round. Overall, I am happy for the reclaimed discipline, and the 1 pound step in the right direction!
Here's to everyone here, and to Round 66!

SW = 160
CW = 155
RGW = 151
UGW = 135
Round 64 loss = 5lbs
1/13 = 152.8
1/14 = 153.9 Unsurprising. Yesterday was an unnatural one day drop. Also, last night had a couple of glasses of wine and pizza when friends came over. But totally fine. I ordered thin crust, veggie pizza. I was over my calorie goal, but acutally still under 1800 for the day, so not a terribly damaging "indulgence" day.
1/15 = 153.1 A good day. It's been super rainy this week and the lack of sun is messing with my moods. Feeling low energy, but still trying.
1/16 = 153.1 I am both happy and disappointed. Obviously, I'd like to see the scale move down. But, yesterday was a tough day. My kids' teachers are on strike and it's been raining all week. We were cooped up in the house all day. I was struggling to stay moving because there really isn't any housework left to do thanks to my recent "KonMaring" of our house. But, my friend came over late in the evening to lift with me. I hope everyone's January is going well.
1/17 = 152.8
1/18 = 152.6
1/19 = 153
1/20 = 152.6
1/21 = 152
1/22 = 151.3 still sick and not really able to exercise much. I hope next round is healthier.13 -

EW Round 64: 189
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 - 189.5- didn’t make the best food choices before bedtime. Bread at dinner seem to really mess with my morning weight. Also ate Ben and Jerry’s right before my eating time was over..
01/14 - 189.5 more bad choices. I need to keep track of food again. I was trying to do this without tracking but I need the accountability
01/15 - 187! I kept to my calories and NO SUGAR SWEETS!
01/16 - 186.5 loving this program. I’m not even hungry on off hours anymore!
01/17 - 188 hmm.. I actually didn’t eat enough yesterday and felt sick this morning. Not sure how this number came up. Won’t let it get me down. I hope to be at 185 by 1/22!
01/18 - 188.5?! Wth... maybe lack of water?
01/19 - 188 no clue, I drank a little more water but still feeling under the weather. But then again, I’ve been sleeping terribly- maybe that’s what’s causing it
01/20 - 186 alright, back on track 👍
01/21 - 187 ate some chocolate for the first time in a while.. wasn’t worth it!
01/22 - 186
1pound off, that’s ok!11 -

@aFit50 This is one of the times I wish for a laugh icon! Love it! We need "laugh" and "woohoo." You not only had a good loss this round, you made me laugh.
Gotta laugh to keep from crying @FarmerCarla ~ and we should start a petition to change woo to woohoo!5 -
Hugs to you @back2cute - Summer 2017 through late fall 2018 was a deeeeeep daaaaarrrrrk redesign for me that had me reeling emotionally so much of the time. I too felt guilty that I was so completely felled by stresses that didn't threaten my physical health, "only" my sense of security, purpose, happiness, worth. Thanks to a stellar counselor and re-engaging with a support group I am regaining my equilibrium, though not yet much buoyancy. Like you I am trying to make myself track, even the epically failing days (today was one) ... like you, I believe that trying again and again and not giving up is worth something. All the best wishes to you.10 -

01/13 Did not weigh
01/14 144.5 the weekend was not a great one, had pizza and a lot of carbs and I had a little late night snacking. Goal is to stick with intermittent fasting all week this week, even through the weekend.
01/15 144 Happy to be back down . Did good last night, I was so hungry but I did not snack.
01/16 144 I have been super exhausted.. thankfully I got plenty of sleep last night and feel so much better.
01/17 143.5 Yay
01/18 143.5 Overall this has really been a great week for me. Yesterday was a higher carb day, but I still stayed under my goal. Cravings are starting to get better. No late night snacking all week thanks to sticking to intermittent fasting. I stopped buying my favorite cereal too, I was getting to where I was eating 2 bowls every night and that wasn't good!
01/19 143.5 Holding steady, went over on calories yesterday by a couple hundred and no exercise but that's the first time all week I was over, so not stressing it. Plan for the weekend is to stay under, and no late night snacking! Have a great weekend everyone 💕.
01/20 143 I know I can meet my goal this round with .5 to lose in 2 days:).
01/21 143
01/22 143 So close to my goal, but it's ok that I didn't make it. Had a couple of very high carb days and seemed like I was really hungry all day. Today was better though. See you all next round!12 -
Definitely committing for the next round...this accountability has been great for me - thank-you for all being here!
First time:- Round 65
Mini mini goal - drop below 170. ACHIEVED
Interim goal :- 164 - that puts me in 'just fat' instead of 'obese' on the BMI scale
Final goal:- 135 I was most comfortable here. For my height, that's still at the top of the range, but I felt I could comfortably maintain that without eating like a rabbit!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 Walked 70 mins treadmill - fatloss programme
01/14 170.6 My weekly weigh in day. Walked as above.
01/15 Had pasta for dinner . Walked as above.
01/16 171 For the first time in a very long time, I logged in just over my base of 1200 cals. And I'm surprised I don't feel any worse for it - not starving or deprived of anything. Walked as above.
01/17 170 Over my base calories but still within if I add exercise. Usual 70 mins (10 000 steps) on t/mill.
01/18 Did not weigh this morning And also my rest day. But tracked everything and was well within my range. Friday is my toughest day at work, so still got over 10 000 in.
01/19 168.8 Quite surprised but a boost. Walked 90mins on the trails today, wet and muddy after all the rain Southern Cal has had, but a beautiful cool and crisp, misty morning. Eating wasn't good tho, back in the saddle tomorrow.
01/20 169.2 Walked 90 mins on trails again - beautiful day! Tracked calories, stayed within, but again too much sodium
01/21 168.6 Walked treadmill 'fatloss' program (kicks my butt) 70 mins. Rained again last night, trails will be too wet. But day off for me, so cleaning house too
01/22 169 Walked on treadmill 70 mins. Within calories but not good eating choices. Tomorrow is another day and the start of Round 66.12 -
Round 66
Interim goal:- 166 or less
Next big goal:- 164 - into 'just fat' and out of obese on the BMI scale

Day/Weight/Comment
01/13:235.5. I ate 2100 calories. Today was a rest day from lifting weights, but I still walked for 60 minutes. Still struggling to get my daily calories into a lower range. When I first started dieting a few years ago, it was very easy for me to only eat 1500 calories per day. I’m not sure what happened to that mindset.
01/14: 235.5. I did much better with dieting today. 1600 calories. 40 minute workout and 60 minutes walking.
01/15: 235.0. 1950 calories. 35 minutes lifting weights and 70 minutes walking.
01/16: Didn't weigh today. 1900 calories. 60 minute walk.
01/17: 235.0. It was a really long day, so I ate more than usual because I was awake for so long. Probably around maintenance for calories and I walked 90 minutes.
01/18: 235.0. 2200 calories. 35 minutes of lifting weights. 60 minute walk.
01/19: 235.5. 45 minute workout.

01/13 -- 153.5 -- Happy scale day! .5 below pre-Christmas weight! Some of the loss (and gain last round) probably due to TOM.
01/14 -- 153.5 -- So nice to see this number repeat. I think the bloat is mostly gone.
01/15 -- 154 -- (got 153.5 at first and stepped on it again. Got 154 for my trouble, and the scale stuck with it!)
01/16 -- 154 -- I'm ok with this. Went out for lunch with a friend and had a gyro with the pita. Bit of a carb binge when I got home, but within my exercise calories. Interestingly, I could tell the difference of eating more carbs yesterday, because I got hungry during my morning walk!
01/17 -- 153 -- Yes! Two walks and half of a zumba class yesterday. Ate a bit high on carbs and calories in general, because I was feeling pretty stressed. But still under goal. And did not drink multiple glasses of bourbon...just one.
01/18 -- 153 -- After last weeks roller coaster, this week has been nice and calm! I'm super dizzy today and hoping it was a few too many carbs yesterday and electrolyte imbalance. Drinking broth and hoping to shake it!
01/19 -- 154.5 -- Doesn't make a lot of sense. Ate better yesterday than earlier in the week. I did have two cups of broth, including one in the evening, to see if that would help with the dizziness. So it could be that. Still a bit dizzy today.
01/20 -- 155 -- Well that is irritating. I fasted till dinner yesterday. Ate low carb, high fiber, low calorie, big deficit. It is irritating that my biggest gains this week were after my best two days! I guess the good news is that if I had eaten poorly, I would be frustrated with myself, instead I'm just frustrated with the scale, water retention, irritating fat cells that sometimes decide to reclaim water before whooshing away. Sigh. Hopefully I still get to end low this 10 days. Less dizzy this morning....so that is good too.
01/21 -- 154 -- Worse day yesterday, better weight today. Sigh. Trying to just ride it out. I'm a pound down from my bad begginning...if only still at pre-Christmas weight...
01/22 -- 155 -- Officially frustrated. Decided to eat cake instead of whining about my weight. That was probably not my best decision. LOL. Starting fresh tomorrow.

* Run 7 days above 2.5 miles
* Add 5 days of weight workouts
* Get to and stay under 200!!!
1/13 - 203.1 (1,387 calories, 10,692 steps): Solid day. Tracked all food. Stayed away from the dinner/night binge. A little too high on the carbs which showed blood glucose in the 140-150 range for long periods of the day. Did not workout so I need to improve there. Better things for today!
1/14 - 204.3 (way too high on the calories, and way too low on the steps): The dinner/night binge got me. I'll get it today. Going for a perfect day today! Good luck to everyone.
1/15 - 202.8 (~1,900 calories, 8,647 steps): Back in the right direction. Decent day. Need to get my treadmill game back on. Will try to get on it tonight or get a long walk in while waiting for kid's activities. Keep the momentum going.
1/16 - 200.7 (~1,600 calories, 17,564 steps): A good day. Got in a 30 minute and 50 minute brisk walk. Need to get back on the treadmill and hit the weights again. Received my A1C results which were 6.2%. My doctor will be happy, but I want to get it under 6. A new 3 month goal for A1C. Glad to see the scale go in the down direction. Good luck to everyone as we hit the hump of the 10 day challenge!!!
1/17 - 202.3 (did not track all calories, 11,417 steps): The slice of pizza got me! The one thing I was proud is that it was only one slice, and not 3-4. Keep on, keeping on. Here is to a good day for everyone!
1/18 - 202.9 (did a cheat meal, 9,417 steps): I was happy I did not turn the cheat meal...into a cheat day...into a cheat week...into a cheat month....and just giving up. I need to get on the treadmill. Going to make sure to work out all weekend. Love this forum because it keeps you accountable everyday and manages the ups and downs.
1/19 - 203.8: Blah on everything. Back at it today! Only a few days left in this round and I really want to hit that goal of under 200. Under 200 and stay there!!! Good luck to everyone this weekend. We got this!
1/20 - 202.5 (did not track calories, 4,622 steps): Okay day. Ate fairly well, but not a lot of movement. Need to get on that treadmill. I will do it!
1/21 - 203.9 (did not track calories, 9,122 steps): Got hit by the late night meal. Need to do better with managing eating late. On the positive, ran 2.5 miles on the treadmill. I want to finish this round strong! I am very happy that I am keeping my weight in the 200-205 quadrant. That has not slipped.
1/22 - Completely forgot to do everything.
1/23 - 202.5: Need to get back to being serious on everything. Glad the weight is staying in this area, but need to make the next step change down. Time to focus!6 -

@aFit50 Reshii, I think IF isn’t for everyone and maybe you need to work into a longer fast period slowly. Get firmly into the keto WOE and see if IF isn’t easier. I’m attaching a slide I lifted from Dr. Eric Westman’s video, Keto Made Simple. It is directed at diabetics but good basic Keto. One thing I noticed is that he doesn’t stress eating a lot of fat. Carbs are a limit, protein a GOAL, and fat the lever to satisfaction.

Thanks @quiltingjaine !! ~ I've been primarily IF 12/12 and LC conscious most of my weight loss journey with great success. However, since trying IF 16/8 w/ the stronger KETO "rules" the past few weeks I've been all over the place emotionally and on the scale!!! I knew the "flu" would be part of the process, but I'm not liking how I feel at all. I was planning on adopting some changes by weeks end and this definitely helps. Thanks again. 🙂1
-
@abowersgirl I feel your pain! BTW I love that you post your old results from the other challenges and can watch your weight loss journey but I can see it’s taken dedication and many weeks and rounds. I can relate to this so much, as well as going up on the scale for no apparent reason sometimes. I’m so glad I found this board.. Been struggling on my own for a very long time.
It definitley takes dedication and patience but this group has helped so much. There are so many people who have similar experiences and knowing that it is normal for weight to fluctuate, for strength training to potentially result in a gain and to get encouragment and advice when needed has been a huge help. Not feeling alone is really half the battle to weight loss. Just stick with it and everything will slowly fall into place not to mention you will gain new insight and begin to have healthier perspective on exercise and diet1 -

All the best wishes to you.
@brightresolve So very, very well said. Thanks. You've helped many of us today!1 -

@quiltingjaine Thank you and I wish it was that simple. I already put a lot of time and energy into watching my weight and my family notices. I have a 10 year old daughter and an almost 17 year old daughter. I try and promote a healthy eating style for them, but not go over board. My oldest daughter already watches her weight (142 pounds at 5'3") and I can see some of the same issues that I have had growing up in her. We have very shapely figures and it is frustrating some times to be so shapely. On the weekends when I say "eat normally" I mean to stay within maintenance calories and not live on salad, vegetables, and fruit as I do during the week. For some reason if I eat a piece of bread or drink a beer I will gain at least 3 pounds overnight. It is gone within 2 days, so I don't stress that much about it, but it just gets frustrating sometimes that it doesn't affect other people the same way. I try to eat the same meals on the weekends that I make for my kids and DH. I usually do not eat like that on the weekdays. I will make myself a salad instead of eat the sides I make for everyone else. I never eat any kind of dessert or bread during the week either. I just want to make sure my girls know that they can eat healthy, but enjoy food to. My youngest has already made a couple of comments about my salads every night. That is why I also struggle with what my maintenance weight should be. I have gone between 135-145. My DH says that 135 is way to small and I am already starting to loose my boobs. Lol, which I have DD's and they have shrunk a little (thank god), but so has my back pain. 30 pounds ago I was constantly in pain. My shoulders, back, and neck always hurt because of the weight I was caring around from my breasts. Now rarely do I hurt, which my husband is glad about, but doesn't want me to get any smaller. He thinks I am good now and should stop loosing. Sorry I went off on a tangent, lol. This is just all stuff that I guess has been building up in me. I will be 40 this year and I just want to make sure I am healthy and fit for my age, but I want to make sure I am doing it the right way in front of my kids.4
