Allie You have to work on Sunday? I'm so sorry. But misery loves company. I have to be at work at 8 this morning. (((hugs)))0

It is either raining now or has been raining ... the ground and van are wet.
Normally, I don't like rain, but a bit of it is needed here these days with the bushfires burning all over Tasmania. Hopefully it is raining where it is needed.

I dont have to ,but the Doc asked me so I will go,, trying to stay in his good graces.. even though he is micromanaging the office like crazy and has gotten Allison to leave though she will not let him know until 2 days before she leaves as she needs the money for the move... Who knows what we will get in for an office manager the way he is, could have us all scurrying... will have to take it a day at a time.. and like I said put it in the lords hands..3

Spent nearly 11 hours in bed again last night, although some of that was reading.
Spent about an hour sitting outside in the sunshine ... getting my Vit D.
And I'm making a chicken veg curry in my slow cooker today.
M in Oz
My curry was good ... but a bit hotter than I had intended. I'll toss in more veggies for tomorrow's serving, but no more spices. It's been about 8 months since I've made this ... out of practice!

Good morning all! Happy Sunday! Yesterday was a long day with Trentin and he will be here again today, but we are headed out to the library to return and pick out some books and movies and to the State Park to do some snow shoeing before the snow melts. He and Jonah played outside yesterday while I got dinner made. They were out for nearly two hours and came in soaked to the bone and spent dinner and the next couple of hours (while I dried their clothes) in borrowed (from me and Colin) t-shirts and underwear. Colin's boxer style briefs fit them like baggie basketball shorts.
Pip- Great job on your run! I love the medals! Very cool.
Heather- Glad to see you up and moving! That is some MAJOR bed head! You know your body, so maybe a little exercise will lift your spirits and give your body a little zing of energy. I am sure you will listen to your body and stop when you need to. Not going to worry about you.
Bianca- Welcome back! I would agree with Karen VA, in regards to your friend and son. Kids are very perceptive. So I would be willing to bet that because he couldn't say "You seem very fake, to me" and just left the room, she probably felt slighted at that action. It could be a personality thing and now four years later; your son is older and better able to make small talk/understand the "niceties" of interplay that goes on in more mature conversations. Things could sort themselves out on their own. I would wait to see if your friend still seems to be having a problem with him and then talk to her. Lord knows, I have had kids in my daycare who have clashed horribly with my own personality and to be honest, I have not liked them very much. BUT, as the adult, I learned to find something that I do admire about them. Fake it until you make it. Unfortunately, she may not be around him long enough to do so.
BArbara- 4'11"! You are just a tiny thing! My grandmother was only 4'10". It was a day of celebration, as a child, when we were finally taller than grandma! For me, that wasn't until my sophomore year of high school. I was a very late bloomer and by my senior year (age 17) I was 5'8".
Tracey- Ooooh! I love the Cricut gifts! Both are beautiful, but the book one... ...I may have to find someone with one of those and borrow it to play around with. I would love to hang something like the book one by my kid's book nook! Gorgeous!
Amazon has bought the rights to the Sundance film Brittany Runs A Marathon. It looks so good. I have it marked on my calendar (it becomes available on Amazon in August) to remind me to find it and watch it. About a non-running couch potato who suddenly decides to run a marathon. Comedy. I am sure this will be right up my alley, as my brain forgets about my body and tells me that things like running a marathon would be a great thing for me to do. lol Have any of you seen it?
Well, we are into day two of our warm spell. It hit 37 yesterday and everything is very wet and slushy. No snow to shovel and this is making the bike path a little too icy for my liking; so I need to get on the treadmill before I do anything else. Hugs to all who need/want them! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Morning! I've got my applesauce and channa masala all set for a week of good meals. I have logged food for 2 days, wow a new record for me! Going to be a very busy week, but with things prepped/front loaded I can handle it. The winter months are the toughest for me emotionally but already I'm starting to dream of spring and prepping my garden, it just makes me happy to think of all that potential new growth. I'm also dreaming of some house projects to take on this summer. I am thinking about painting upstairs' rooms this summer or at least the trim on doors/windows and closets. I will have to do before and after photos like some of you do, kind of motivating to realize we're at the halfway mark of winter.
Lisa good luck with the surgery, keep us in your pocket. ((( )))
NYKAREN5 -
NY Karen - halfway through winter means halfway through summer for us. That's bad because i love summer and hate being cold especially my feet.
It has been a very hot summer as Machka mentioned as well with bush fires a problem but we've had some good African rain and the temperatures have cooled down somewhat. Wuite the opposite from Chicago!
I've started intermittent fasting ( 20/4). It's really hard and I've stopped for the last two days because I felt weak and tired all the time. I lost 2.5 lbs in 2,5 weeks which is probably mostly water but i've lost inches which is quite interesting.
Someone mentioned that their weight loss has reached a plateau. I once was stuck for two months so i think it must be ok.
You must be patient, its your body resisting the weight loss. Just carry on exercising , and watch your carbs.
Bianca from South Africa3 -
Well done Pip! And especially for doing it together.
The sun is shining, but I'm not feeling much like leaving the house. Not feeling like anything much. I imagine that's normal.
I must be patient.
I must admit that I'm a bit niggled that my son hasn't been round to see how I am. It would have been nice. I know feeling sorry for myself only hurts me, but he's only a 7 minute drive away.
I think I need a nap.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx5 -

I agree I would not let him know you are leaving until you have another job. Like how you asked for coming in on a Sunday. I assume he charges more from his patients for coming in on a Sunday too! Only fair!

Hello. I’m a grandma from Reno, NV. I CrossFit, sing in the Reno Philharmonic Choir, hike, yoga, sew, and teach second grade full time. I’m 12.5 pounds from reaching my weight loss goal; I was 208 pounds two years ago. I struggle with sleep apnea which makes fitness and weight loss challenging.9

We went to Wal Mart early this morning to stock up on a few things before the snow comes. At Wal Mart they were stocking the shelves in the garden department.6

I started KETO in December 9 at 190 pounds. I am now 183, a loss of 7 pounds but my measurements show me a greater loss of inches so happy with that! As proof, the pic below is of me wearing a belt I bought in Mexico last winter that I couldn’t even get to the first hole without squishing my gut. Today, I can wear it and am using the third hole in comfortably!

Machka- sounds like you needed the rest. I’m not surprised
Allie - are you the only one he calls for these emergencies? I hope you get paid OT for it at least.
Bianca - that is a tough situation. I don’t know what I would do except rather than put your son in an uncomfortable situation visit with her somewhere outside of your home. It’s only a week she’ll be in the area so hopefully it goes fast without causing damage. If she asks why she’s not invited to your house be honest and tell her that you are concerned for your sons feelings.
Kelly - I have had children I don’t particularly like either. I just grin and bear it. Although there are a couple that I just quit inviting to my house. The Mother needed to be disciplined in disciplining her children. I enjoyed them more when the mother was absent. Her discipline after her 1 year old climbing my China cabinet literally was, “now starshine you can’t do that, give me hugs and kisses”. Needless to say it didn’t take anytime for him to attempt to climb it again. My harsh voice saying no and removing him from his climb worked. They never visited again. I think he is 8 now.
I’m sure you could find someone on Marketplace willing to cut it for you. It was a free file on geeksvgs dot com. The weeding took me about 15 hours but it was relaxing.
Heather - has your son called or texted at least, with the severity of this bug maybe he is just being cautious to not bring it home to his children again.
Barbie - the dollar store here has had summer pool toys out for a couple weeks now. It’s crazy, valentines in one aisle, Easter in another and then summer in yet another.
My eldest daughter is 30 today I don’t feel much older than that myself, it feels strange.
I must go make a cake and clean the kitchen then I’ll make crockpot lasagna for the birthday dinner.

Margaret~ not me who is leaving the office manager is leaving~ he treats her like dirt...
he was very appreciative that I came in to help out and I even figured how to do and print out a treatment plan.. and got the work done.. he did pay me time and a 1/2 and for that I am thankful... sure wish he would keep it there ,but that is hoping for the moon...I just watched Super Soul Sunday Oprah does one every sunday and she has always a wonderful interesting person on, this week it was Norman Lear..4 -
Went for a walk with DH. Sat down halfway and let him do a bit more. Felt c××p. Came back coughing and coughing.
That seems to be a bit better now.
I hate feeling so sorry for myself. I remind me of my mother.
Tracey - no he hasn't called etc, just replied to my couple of sad texts. You can't catch the same bug again, so it's not that. I was feeling so sorry for myself and then I saw on the news that Hove is having a weekend beer festival. That will be him organising all that and working his a++ off, all the time keeping AF. A huge stress. Don’t feel so bad now.
I was leaving announcing the fact that I hadn't made any prep for dinner to the last minute so we could, for once in our lives, get a takeaway delivered. For some reason DH hates any takeaway, even healthy stuff. In the end he rejected all my suggestions, including opening the confit, and made scrambled eggs on toast for us both. It was delicious, but it wasn't Tandoori Chicken. I have a whole pile of takeaway menus in the drawer and no chance of eating anything from them. How bad can charcoal grilled kebab and salad be?
Just received an email from an old high school colleague about a possible reunion for our year group in the summer . Will have to ponder. I've forwarded it to the 'girls'. Right now nothing is more unattractive, but I am in a bad mood and may feel differently another day.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx6 -
Pip: Sorry your strava didn’t record your race correctly. :grumble: Way to go on the run!
Meg: Icebergs in Omaha? I hope they don’t start calving. :noway:
Barbara: I didn’t think increased bone density was even possible. I've learned from personal experience that it is possible. Weight bearing exercise including walking, yoga and horseback riding, good nutrition, and bone density medication was the combination that worked for me. :flowerforyou:
Allie: Good luck with your job search. Meanwhile, I’m glad your new employer seems to value you. That is worth celebrating. It would be better if he gave you a raise, though.
AEPHubic: Weight loss is not a steady decline in my experience. You do the right thing and wind up with plateaus between declines. This seems to be true for most of us. Be patient with the plateaus. The weight comes off in its own sweet time if you keep counting calories and measuring your portions. Keep up what you are doing. If you need to boost the process, add exercise time. Choose exercises you enjoy. :flowerforyou:
Bianca from South Africa: Your “friend” needs to go to charm school, and also needs to avoid comparing siblings. Rather than have her come to your home, perhaps a better idea is to meet for a grown-ups only meal in a neutral location. Then tell her that her negative comments favoring one child and criticizing another are not okay with you. My SIL has 4 adult children. Even as adults I would never make negative comments comparing any of them. My negative thoughts need to be kept to myself. As Thumper Rabbit wisely said, “If you can’t say sumpthin’ nice, don’t say nuthin’ at all.” :noway:
(((LISA))) Good luck!!
Heather: Perhaps your son wants to avoid taking germs home with him. Sometimes it is hard to be a good son and a good dad all at once.
Xbobeekayx: Welcome to a supportive group. Stop by often to give and get encouragement. :flowerforyou:
Rita: Congratulations on your progress. Cinching up that belt proves how well you’re doing. WTG!!!
Have a great day, everyone. This would normally be a horseback riding day for me, but I’m not feeling up to it yet. I’ve had low energy for a few weeks now. I’m hoping the longer days and greater amount of daylight will help reverse that.
