Goals for Round 67:

Drink at least 64 oz of water a day
Walk 100,000 steps during the challenge
Day/Weight/Comment
02/02 160.8 Didn’t get much sleep yesterday since we had major wind storms and the dog was not having it! I am hoping to rest up a bit this afternoon. I have a basic strength class later today, and then going out to dinner with friends before we go to a ballet performance.
Steps 6974, 70 minutes of exercise, 66 oz of water
02/03 160.5 Had a wonderful night last night, but whenever I take an afternoon nap I find it so difficult to fall asleep. I managed to have 5 hours of tossing and turning sleep, so just going to try to stay awake all day so can sleep throughout the night.
Steps 8694, 45 minutes of exercise, 46 oz of water
02/04 159.8 I drank and ate more than I should have yesterday so will be limiting alcohol to 1-2 drinks this coming week and will be strict on meal planning to not lose my progress so far. Having said that, it was nice not worrying about tracking everything once in a while!
Steps 1990, 0 minutes of exercise, 73 oz of water.
02/05 161.0 Expected this number with how I ate on Sunday and how busy yesterday was at work. I wasn't able to get to the gym or leave the office much. Hopefully today will be less busy and will be back down by the end of the week.
Steps 10,082, 45 minutes of exercise, 80 oz of water
02/06 159.7 Hoping I can continue going down through the end of the challenge. I was able to just get to steps goal yesterday and met water and exercise goals
Steps 14,411 25 minutes of exercise, 64 oz of water.
02/07 158.8 I think this might be a fluke, but I am still excited to see 158! Have a girls night tonight, but will limit to two glasses of wine. I need to make up 7,982 steps by Monday, and 220 minutes of exercise. I think I will be able to do that still so pretty encouraged still with five days left of challenge.
Steps 6523, 45 minutes of exercise, 74 oz of water
02/08 158.1, still bracing myself on the number since my happy scale moving average is 158.8, but love seeing it since it motivates me to be good this weekend.

02/02 - 328.8 - It was gain, but fluctuations happen.
02/03 - 327.4 - I'm happy with this. It's less than where I was a week ago.
02/04 - 327.2 - Woohoo. Inching down. Every little bit counts. I didn't do my strength training yesterday, but I did do an episode of Zombies, Run!
02/05 - 326.0 - Woot wasn’t expecting this big of a drop as I didn’t get as much exercise in as per usual. Looks like my body needed the day off.
02/06 - 325.8 - It's another tick in the right direction. I took a chance and put on a pair of a smaller pair of jeans than I have worn in awhile and they fit! I'm ecstatic! I didn't do either of my exercises yesterday. I did reach my step goal of 5,000. Today I have my pulmonary rehabilitation where I will get a workout in as well. It'll be a busy day.
02/07 - NO WEIGHT - I woke up with five minutes until I had to leave. So I woke up, dressed, didn't even stop to feed the cat on my way out. I went to pulmonary rehabilitation and worked my rear end off. I did treadmill, arm crank, NuStep, leg press and arm weights. I'm still walking during commercials now that I'm home. I have a longer walk to and from the bus due to the city doing something to the street right in front of the stop I usually use. I'm already well past my step goal.
02/08 - 323.6 - Woot! Did not expect this! I admit, I don't trust it yet. So, we will see what it says in the morning or two mornings. I did walk over 18,000 steps yesterday and stayed within my caloric goal. Today was a bit disappointing. I'm making positive changes, but for some reason my HDL has had dramatic drop. Hopefully it will recovering. But on the plus side of the day I walked from home to Transitions without needing to stop!

@puttyputty I can honestly say that my job is probably causing my possible TMJ. It is very stressful and aggravating. I wouldn’t be surprised if I am gritting my teeth all day long and don’t even realize it. I had a huge meeting with my manager and some co-workers today to start delegating some of what I do to others. I am hopeful that will help reduce my stress.9

Day/Weight/Comment
02/02 Unable to weigh. Arrived back home this afternoon so I will weigh in again tomorrow morning.
02/03 11st 5.0lb Very happy with this...now to be careful as I have been invited out to my daughter's house for the day including lunch
02/04 11st 5.8lb Well, some weight put on. It was difficult to estimate the food I was given but I refused a pudding which was 333 calories! My son on law opened a bottle of champagne which only he and I had - he had bought it for us to share on New Year's day but as my daughter was not well, I didn't go there. I ended up drinking 3 glasses of that...fatal.
02/05 11st 5.6lb Ate just under mfp calories and none of my exercise calories which were higher than usual. Hopefully it's water retention which has kept my weight up - I had some crisps before bed. I treated myself as my net calories were quite low. Bad idea.
02/06 11st 6.2 Again - ate under my mfp calories and none of my exercise calories. No salty foods and ate nothing in the evening. My neighbour brought me round some flavoured water which had nil calories! However, I had a long session at the dentist having a root canal treatment and my face was swollen still in the evening, so maybe that contributed.
02/07 11st 5.4lb Finally going back down. Eating at 1200 only gives me a deficit of 200 from my maintenance level, so ignoring the first 300 exercise calories is the only way to get a 500 deficit, and I don't get that many exercise calories every day.
02/08 11st 5.4lb Happy to have stayed the same today - weighted this morning, only just found time to post it

Day/Weight/Comment
02/02 / 177.6 / Didn't work out.
02/03 / 176.2 / A miracle. I did work out, but wasn't expecting to see this on the scale. Today has not been great calorie-wise though, so I'm expecting a bit of an increase tomorrow.
02/04 / 177.4 / Completely expected. Today's a new day. I will get back on track.
02/05 / 177.6 / Surprising.. not because it's a gain, but because it's less of a gain than I thought it would be. I have not been doing well this round as far as calories and working out are concerned. I think that my motivation is faltering. I will eat right today, and I will exercise when I get home. I've come too far to stop now.
02/06 / 177.6 / I did meet my calorie goal yesterday, but I didn't work out. I have an injury that I'll have to work around for a couple of days. I'll just have to find a different workout to do. I want to be down to 175 by the end of this round. Hey.. it's possible.
02/07 / DNW
02/08 / 177 this morning / It's not a gain, but I'm sooo anxious to lose some more weight! I've been stuck in 177 land for majority of the challenge. In other news, I bought some fun new stuff to work out with. I'm officially about to start working on my musclesss...

02/02: 206.2. Went out for breakfast and didn’t over eat (yay), but ended up eating too much sugar today. But only went over my calorie goal by 50. So not horrible but must make better choices.
02/03: 206.2 Had a slice of high calorie pizza, but I did keep it to one slice. Just made sure to stay close to calorie goal.
02/04: 205.9 Planning all meals today ahead of time to keep me on track. Working from home today so this should be easier.
02/05: 205.3. Planning meals ahead again. Ended up with a UTI which has kind of derailed me today. Ugh! Go to doctor tomorrow.
02/06: 205.8 UTI has me feeling sick. Struggled to eat enough calories which is definitely not like me! Get medicine from doctor and hope to feel better soon.
02/07: 205.3 Really struggling with not feeling well. Keeping up my healthy eating.

This morning I was looking for something in my closet to wear that fit (recently my “thin” clothes have been baggy - a surprise for sure). I saw the dry cleaned jacket & scarf & thought well maybe it will fit, unbuttoned... well it fit perfectly buttoned!!!! And the scarf I had planned to use to cover my middle looked really bulky. As I was typing this, I realized I can transform the scarf into a blouse! This is actually my biggest clothing/related NSV yet ❣️#grateful #GRATEFUL *happy tear*

@tiabirdie56 I do eat nuts for most of my crunchy snacks. (90% cacao dark chocolate for the sweet cravings.) Walnuts. Almonds. Even salted smoke flavored Almonds if I must have salty. That is me satisfying a crunchy craving (instead of popcorn, chips or pretzels I used to eat). Full of healthy fats & omega 3 too!. If push comes to shove, I eat pork rinds because of the zero carbs & fat content. Flavored ones available too. I just don't eat the rinds as often because I do try to stay fairly heart healthy, even in my keto. I know that you already know all these tricks. Just a reminder & a word of encouragement to you because you're the best!

Day/Weight/Comment
02/02--214.9 Completed W3D3 yesterday of C25k. I didn't want to go out for the run because it was raining, but on my way home I saw someone out running and thought if she can do it so can I, so I got home, got the dog and went out for the run. In the end it wasn't raining that hard and the dog really enjoyed it too.
02/03--215.3 Went to the gym this morning and did some weightlifting.
02/04--215.3 Was feeling heavy when I woke up this morning, first time since I started my elimination diet. I'm guessing that it's the gf waffles that I ate 2 days in a row that caused some food sensitivity issues. They were good, but I'm glad they are finished. I was supposed to start W4 of c25k, but it snowed today, which is very rare for the PNW, and the roads are icy and aren't plowed so I couldn't go running today. Then my gym closed early, so I wasn't able to run. If roads are still an issue tomorrow plan is to go to gym early and get my workout done.
02/05--214.0 Heavy feeling is gone this morning, feel much better. Roads and streets are still icy today, but it is sunny, so it's melting a little. Plan is to get out this afternoon to go out for a run with the dog once it warms up a little more.
02/06--212.5 Had to weigh myself twice to make sure. Went out for run yesterday and finished w4d1. The running path had some patches of icy snow on it that caused me at times to walk more than I ran, but it was a beautiful sunny chilly day for a run.
02/07--212.7 I think some of this whoosh is because I've only gone to the gym once this week to weightlift instead of my regular 3x, so I'm probably not retaining as much water. The weather is getting better today, but we are up for more snow starting tomorrow afternoon and for the next couple of days. I will just stick with my plan and go running tonight and not beat myself up about the fact that I've only weightlifted once this week. I'll just wait and see how the roads hold up over the next few days and get to the gym when I can.
02/08--213.1 w4d2 of C25k done. Another round of snow started today. Gym closed early so couldn't go.

02/04 = (no weigh-in) So I've had a funky last few months. I started a new job 2.5 months ago (good thing, but stressful). I got some bad news about the osteoarthritis in my reconstructed right knee. My wife and I are trying to have a baby. We're also trying to buy a house. I've been in the throes of my sugar addiction, I haven't been exercising at all, and I've gained back just about everything I lost last year. I've been trying to get myself back to a "healthy" state of mind for a while now, but I've been feeling guilty and stupid for leaving this community in the first place. Rather than "pick up where I left off," I'm going to start over (no posting my history). We'll see how it goes, as I can always look it up later if I really want to. The bottom line is, coming here and posting every morning really worked for me before. Having your support really worked for me.
I'm trying really hard to be kind and forgiving to myself. I'm really angry that I let things go as far as I think they have. I'm really going to try to stay around for a while, 10 days at a time, just like I did before. I'll weigh-in tomorrow morning to see where I'm at. Thanks in advance for letting me hang around.
02/05 = 221.8 (-0.2), BF% =18.7 (no change). First weigh-in and post in a long time. I was under calories yesterday and on point in macros. No sweets. So far, so good.
02/06 = 218.2 (-3.6), BF% = 18.3 (-0.4). Didn't take long for that first WHOOSH. I was under calories yesterday, even if I didn't hit my macros exactly the way I wanted to. It feels good to be back. I had a "chubby" coworker mention today that we have the exact same belly. I was both "thrown off" by the comment, and frustrated at the same time. It figures that someone would notice me being chubby the moment I get back into health and fitness. Rather than being angry with the universe, I'll acknowledge that I'm listening to what the universe has to say. I have to say, being back in this challenge feels pretty natural. I'm going to have to spend some time figuring out exactly why I left in the first place...
02/07 = 216.2 (-2.0), BF%.= 18.1 (-0.2). Another decent day eating. I'm generally sticking to keto, and I'm getting under my calorie goal every day. Keto is a definite quick start/boost for my weight loss, and I'm okay with that. I've really wanted this for a long time. So glad to be back!
02/08 = 214.6 (-1.6), BF% = 17.9 (-0.2). I forgot how fast weight drops off in the first week of keto. Not complaining! Truth is, I'm only half-@$$ing it (the keto part). I do lots of avoiding (no sugar, no rice, no pasta, [usually] no bread), but at this point I'm really focusing on portion control (until I can get myself fully back in to food-prepping, which is hard). So far, so good! Waiting for my first "bump" in the road, which will inevitably come... it has to. Preparing myself for it. It's not a bad thing, it's just part of the journey. It will always be there. Until then, however, I'm going to enjoy my "fun" streak (7.4 lbs in 4 days), and see how long I can keep it going.

@puddlegoober
Thank you!
I remember you well, and am glad you returned. Beating oneself up never helps, but figuring out why (as long as it’s not disguised beating up) can be helpful. My mantra which has helped me on my 1,134 day journey (so far) has been “The Past is past.”
Move forwards, my friend!
What I remember (and I could be wrong) is your weight was falling off really fast & then it slowed. This can be a difficult point.
Maybe you can expect the weight to come off more slowly as you lose.
I lost slowly for the first year as I modified habits/portions.
Then about 4lbs a month for 7-8 months. With exercise. No eating out.
These past 9 months lost at 1.5-2 lbs a month, as I read things about losing muscle & definitely wanted to minimize that. This slow weight also means I’m never hungry & have energy to exercise & enjoy life.
The Slower weight loss also makes it so I am not looking for the endorphin hit of the scale going, which it won’t in maintenance!!
I have tracked my weight loss by monthly averages over the past couple of years. It backs me out to the Big Picture, not the daily ups and downs.
You can do this. Perhaps think of one small habit you can practice this week?!
It’s all about the habits.

This is my fourteenth round (following my lucky thirteenth in which I finally showed my January loss!) I set some mini-goals for another challenge. My prospects had been looking pretty bleak, but I did actually see January's goal of 149 on 1/30, even though I ended the 10 days at 151. I would love to get to 148 this round...but would be happy at 149 as well! We can do it! Stay strong everyone!

02/02 - 150 -- Looking to see that elusive 149 again, but this is in the right direction! Yesterday I walked, did strength class and yoga. Then I donated blood and ate some carbs, but not too many! Hoping to continue last 10 days good trend and get back on track for my mini-goals. Although I realized I might have to revise them anyway as I somehow planned on keeping up a pound a week loss right up to goal weight. It might make more sense to aim for 1/2 pound a week as I move from 145 to 135!
02/03 - 149 !! Ok. Second time with the 149! I'm going to say January mini-goal achieved!
02/04 - 151 -- Ate a few carbs yesterday, but mostly did pretty well and no alchohol, so I'm a bit miffed at this number!
02/05 - 151-- Felt crazy yesterday. I'm blaming hormones. Tried not to eat everything in sight. I wasn't hungry...really....just wanted sweets desperately. Still stayed within calories and didn't do badly on carbs either. Really wanting to be in the 140's!
02/06 - 152 -- I was still a little cranky yesterday. And hungry. Ate well, exercised well, lots of steps. I'm definitely retaining a bit of water. Drank a TON today (of water!) and hoping that helps tomorrows numbers!
02/07 - 151 -- Still retaining water.
02/08 - 151 -- Aggravating. But ok as long as there is some drop in 3 days. TWO NSV's. 1. Inspired by @puttyputty I started a pushup challenge. Two weeks ago I could do 20 full (modified) pushups on the arm of the couch. Yesterday I did 20. I will continue with the challenge but go down 8 inches, from the arm of the couch to the side of the tub. My goal is to make it down to the floor in 8-10 weeks! 2.) Did a headstand in yoga today for the first time! Feeling happy.

@quiltingjaine, Probably everyone needs B12. I've been taking it and a B complex vitamin since I was 21yrs old, when my doctor told me I was borderline pernicious anemic. My mother had severe iron deficiency. I remember that she had to be given iron intraveneously. If you are considering B12 supplementation look for Methyl B, Methylcobalamin. This form of B12 is absorbed more readily. I was prescribed Cyanocobalamin in the beginning and took it for many years until I read about the differences and changed my B12. Cyan is still in the B complex though.
Choosing Vitamin B12
@deepwoodslady, Donna, you are one of the sweetest people ever!💓 @MadisonMolly2017 too!💓 Thank you both for caring! Yes, I eat nuts, but that doesn't satisfy my crunch needs. I know it is a need for the B vitamins. I've been tired too even with plenty of sleep and even though the weather has been colder I've been feeling colder than normal. I'll know for sure after I've taken them every evening for a couple of weeks. My "crunch crave" is already diminishing after 4 days of taking them. I always know when I'm deficient in a vitamin or mineral. I can ignore it, which I have been😕 or I can do the right thing.4 -

Hello Friends! Hope all is well. Sorry I have been MIA. Hope to join you all soon
I have my weights...I have been comfort eating so I am up. Having real life pain right now. If I don't join you all next round, I will before month end for sure. Not sure I will try to catch up at this point.
What do you all normally do when you miss rounds? Do you go back and try to catch up? or jump in when you can? For me I think I am just going to jump in when I can...... There are only a few more days left on this one so I think I will wait until round 68 starts?? Please message me if possible or reply here. I will see messages sooner.....
You all are rocking just being here gain or lose. If you are losing.....awesome indeed.....whoohooo and by all means .....Keep up the good work! :flowerforyou:
Have a great weekend everyone!7 -
@IsMollyReallyHungry - When I did these in the past (over a year ago). If it was early enough in the challenge I'd jump in otherwise I'd wait until the next one.1

Have a great weekend everyone!
JUMP IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND TRY TO FINISH OUT THE ROUND.
And then join in for the next round and try to commit to the 10 days. It's just getting that day-to-day habit back and it does take a little hard work initially to get back on track ... but you are in a very supportive community here on JGM 10 days ... so, welcome back!!7 -

Thanks! I just started in January. Only completed one round. I love the support because I already weigh almost every day. I allow myself one pass each week only in a seven day period. But when doing these challenges I am going to change that to 10 day period. Thanks again

Amazing, @kmfeig87! I'm so impressed!2 -

Round 67
Svetlana
Age - 51
Height 167 cm
SW: 68.1 (150.1 lbs.)
Result of previous Rounds = - 5.3 kg (-11.6 lbs.).
Start of ROUND 67: 62.8 kg (138.5 lbs.)
GW for Round 67: 61.0 (134.5 lbs.)
Day/Weight/Comment
02/02 - 62.8 kg (138.5 lbs.). 4.6km run in the morning. Go to Frankfurt for a haircut. Strength training is scheduled for the evening.
02/03
02/04 - 64.7 kg (142.6 lbs.). “30 day shred” with Jillian Michaels in the morning. Level 3 – legs killer
02/05 - 62.9 kg (138.7 lbs.). 9km run in the morning. Strength training is scheduled for the evening.
02/06 - 62.5 kg (137.8 lbs.). “Six-pack in 6 weeks” with Jillian Michaels and 4km run in the morning. It is getting more and more difficult to earn fitness points. I need 100 points to get status “Active” and 500 points to improve my fitness age. Jillian Michaels brought me only 54 points, so I had to run a bit… So today my fitness age is 29.
02/07 - 62.2 kg (137.1 lbs.). 10km run in the morning. Strength training is scheduled for the evening.
02/08 - 62.9 kg (138.7 lbs.). “30 day shred” with Jillian Michaels in the morning.
02/09 - 62.9 kg (138.7 lbs.). Very happy to keep the same weight after 2 ice creams (300 g and 965 kcal each). But before ice cream I had a 7 km run, although it didn’t compensate even 1 ice. Already did my strength training for a good start of the day. A nice weekend to everyone!

Ready for my round 4
OSW 88KG
RSW 82.9kg (-5.1kg) or {11.2lbs}
Goal... Less than I started!
Day/Weight/Comment
02/02 82.9kg all good...
02/03 82.1kg on official weigh in day. That's 5.9kg {13lbs} in 4 weeks. This makes me very happy! Now to keep on losing
02/04 82.6kg this seems to be consistent - a loss for Sunday then up on Monday. I don't do anything different at the wknd except less exercise. So long as overall trend is down I'm happy.
02/05 82.6kg still keeping it green and waiting for this to settle back down
02/06 82.2kg and a morning run. Feeling good!
02/08 82.6kg bouncing around but I'm still green so I'm sure it will settle soon
02/07 82.1kg?? 3km run and a lovely sunrise to start the day.
02/09 81.9kg wknd losses! Maybe it's the later weigh in.
