03/24 - 289.4 - I walked to church this morning and was glad I made it up the steep hill. I'm getting stronger. It still took my breath away, but the stairs up to the church posed no problem. I plan on walking in an hour for about an hour. Only 14 more pounds to my next milestone goal.
03/25 - NW - I plan to go walking later today. I always think I can't do it, then I prove myself wrong. I've been hitting my active hours as well on my Fitbit. I'm feeling more hungry today for some reason. I'm thinking of eating my snack earlier instead of later. Food is still on point.
03/26 - 291.6 - Not sure what happened. My period is kinda lingering so that could be the source. I didn't get any exercise in, but I did get some more cleaning done. Food is still doing good. I've added in chopped spinach to my meals.
03/27 - 288.4 - Most likely just water weight yesterday. It's gone. Food is going good today. I added in turkey sausage to my breakfast for some extra protein. I have also increased the size of my evening snack as I think my calories were dipping too low. I have been busy cleaning again today in preparation for the housekeeping inspection tomorrow. If my package arrives early enough I will go for a walk around the community the room later.
03/28 - 289.6 - Hmm. Bouncy? I don't know. I'm not really getting my exercise in this week for a variety of reasons. Monday was rest day. Tuesday and Wednesday I was waiting for packages until late. And today my walk I cut short to keep from being brained by a baseball. Two guys were throwing a ball back and forth over the walking path instead of going to a space in the big park that wasn't a walking path. I have been burning some calories by doing a lot of cleaning.
03/29 - 286.6 - Woohoo! I guess maybe this is my new pattern, up then down. Either way it's progress. Fasting today as it is a Friday during Lent still. Just a few more weeks. My inspection was moved until today. I'm going to take advantage and clean the windows. I will have to sweep the bathroom again as Alex used his litter box, of course, and wipe down the kitchen counter from a spinach accident, but the rest is all good.
03/30 - 285.2 - Looks like the fasting helped my weight as well. I did start eating at five and had extra popcorn to ensure I didn't wake up starving this morning. I plan to get some walking in and probably go to the gym. My inspection left me with plenty to do around the apartment STILL. I have to go through my baskets and keep or toss basically. I already rearranged the living room closet. I have to wash all the closet doors and bleach the part of the window sill between the window and the screen. A few other things. So, I tried hard, but just have to try harder.

3/25 -150.1. Wins yesterday - hour long dog walk, 90 min Bikram hot yoga class. Lots of water, coming off a lot of travel it was needed. Goals for today: tracking my food, exercise, drink lots of water. Do my best not to binge eat as I'm in a moment of high anxiety and my eating habits are really bad at times like these. Trying to be very conscious of this today.
3/26 - 148.8. Wins yesterday - 4 mile run, 45 min dog walk. Hydrated well. Tracked food. Didn't binge even though I was very stressed. Ended up over my calorie goal but it wasn't full-on bingeing like I'm known to do. Calling that a win.
3/27 - 148.8. Same as yesterday. Wins - did a tough HIIT class, drank a lot of water, tracked my food, slept well. What I didn’t do well - gave in to a sweets craving at night and went too far over calorie target. I wasn’t hungry, just wanted to eat. Will try to push through those cravings today.
3/28 - 147.3. Big drop! I know it's water weight but it was so nice to see! Had a lot of wins yesterday. Did a weight circuit with a sprinting finisher, drank a lot of water. Tracked all food and hit my calorie goal. I tend to eat way too much on days I work from home, but yesterday I didn't do that. Didn't get a great night's sleep last night so hoping I don't fall trap to being tired and making poor decisions. Plus I will be eating out twice today which is not normal at all - team lunch at work, and my parents are taking us to dinner for my husband's birthday (which is Saturday). Goal is to make good decisions at both of these meals and not overstuff myself.
3/29 - 146.6. Surprised by this! Wins yesterday - 45 min cycle class and a long dog walk. Drank a lot of water. Tracked food as best I could. Ate out twice yesterday so I couldn’t track easily but found equivalents that I hoped were close enough. I assumed sodium in restaurant meals would cause a gain so I’m pleasantly surprised at this number. I made good choices at the restaurants which is not my norm! Did not sleep well again last night so today’s challenge will be to stay strong and not let being tired win over good choices.
3/30 - 145.3. What?? I don’t know how I’m getting these big drops, I guess I had a lot of water weight to lose? Expecting this to stop soon. TOM is coming next week so I’m psyching myself up to not be disappointed if these numbers trend higher in the coming days. Wins yesterday: drank a lot of water, hour long dog walk, tracked all food. Successfully avoided alcohol and junk food at my neighbors’ while watching basketball (gotta love any time UNC loses 😉). Today will be challenging as I got no sleep last night at all (I typically get insomnia a few days before TOM so not abnormal), and it is my husband’s birthday. Those could lead to some unhealthy choices.

03/25 187.4 pretty lame. Still working on tweaking my calories a bit lower but definitely overdid it on the weekend. Trying to find my mojo and get back in the game.. I basically feel like I have 5 good days, see a loss, then just gain hit right back every week! On the plus side the gym has been going really well and I feel like I can see some changes in my body there so at least that is going well.
03/26 186.8 Down one lb.. at least we are headed in the right direction! Yoga today. Walked with a friend after dinner yesterday and today for some gentle cardio.

03/29 185.4 little bit at a time. Good lifting today, I ate at maintenance yesterday and I can really tell a difference when I'm fully fueled up. Problem is that I've been craving carbs today.. even when i stay under calories I puff up if I eat too many. Have a couple of beers allowed for today since it's friday evening! Hope the scale isn't too bad tomorrow.

Focusing on me this round (never easy with 6 kids, 2 kids still at home, 6 grandkids, upcoming cheer comp and a permanently busy life! No major social events the next 10 days that should throw me off - although it is Mothers Day here in the UK next Sunday and the round does take in two weekends so need to stay focused through that. So here goes!
My target for the round is to lose a pound and finish mid 148's ............

03/24 - DNW - was my turn for a Sunday morning cup of tea in bed! At a quiz night last night where although I allowed for it in my calories for the day I did have salty snacks - doritos, olives etc and drank a ton of very gassy sparkling water so I know weight will be up and will take a few days to recover
03/25 -152.8lb up 3.1lb which is not possible but down to Sunday roast last night and hang over from Saturdays nights salty snacks. Scales may not reflect it but I know why they are up and it will be a temporary blip. Still no TOM (12 days over now!) and bloatedness still hanging around but despite all this feeling good about where my head is at and looking froward to this round to make some progress!
03/26 - 151.6lb down 1.2lb - in the right direction so will happily take that for today and hopefully keep heading in this direction! Food all planned and ready for the day and a gym session tonight - and as that is all done, water is now my focus for today
03/27 - 151.6 +0.0 - stayed the same which is OK as its not up Good food day planned , good gym session last night and TOM finally decided to arrive. Clocks go forward this weekend and so the lighter evenings will be upon us which always gives me a massive boost mentally. Continuing the quest to go down...........
03/28 - 151.3 -0.3lb - bit lower. Slow and steady..... Day planned to be within calories but going to be carb heavy (working lunch today which involved sandwiches and we have home made burgers tonight) so may not reflect well on the scales tomorrow. But still hoping... Gym session tonight, been guzzling away on the water and green tea today so all good there - macros need some work by the looks of it
03/29 - 150.5 down 0.80lb - yay feeling good and going in the right direction (albit slowly....)

dinner last night (home made chicken enchilladas - yummy!) so ok with todays weigh in. Should be all good today although mothers day tomorrow so a big family roast dinner planned but hopefully will be partly offset by my bike ride tomorrow - we're back out on the Social Sunday Rides. Only a slow 35 miles planned as no-one has been out for ages with a mid way tea and cake stop - perfect mothers day for me

03/25 174.8 Yesterday was a pretty good day. Even if the morning was jam packed. I did manage to squeeze in a short cardio workout. We did go out to eat after pictures so I'm guessing that's what this little bump back up is about. My son says "We're eating out again!? Why can't we just eat at home?" It made me laugh! We don't eat out often and we've managed to do it three times in one week. And it made me feel kind of good that he'd rather eat at home. 😊

I made my trend line goal!!! 🤸♀️
Saturday was so lovely. My parents came down and brought my grandpa and their elderly basset hound Molly. At this point I do think I want to gain weight or maintain so I gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted. Spicy guacamole cheeseburger was delicious! I ate half and my side was a Cesar salad instead of fries. And I drank half my beer. We walked around the creek with Molly since it was a perfect day and then had frozen yogurt. I didn't hold back on the toppings! After they left I plugged everything in to MFP, I had eaten 2,044 calories! Welcome to maintenance! Haha. But I was over my goal so when I went out dancing Saturday night I vowed to "stay sober", I.e. no liquid calories. And according to my Fitbit (and my scale apparently) my exercise calories ended up evening it all out! Yay! Victory!

I need to keep reminding myself "I don't want to lose anymore weight, I don't want to lose anymore weight..." I don't need the dopamine fix of the scale going down. I need the fix of the scale going up! At least to 135 where I felt better. Today I vow to eat to my goal of 1720!

Cal in: 1747; Cal out: 1920. I am super surprised I haven't gained anything since increasing my cals. I am going to check the batteries in my scale later today. I ran out of my go to snack yesterday (Atkins pb bars) and I ordered a replacement but it's a different brand (Pure Protein) and they don't arrive until tomorrow.

1800 cals in; 1987 cals out. I don't understand why the scale went down, it has fresh batteries. But I'm not complaining. Today I will eat 1900 cals!
By 4:30pm yesterday I was only at 700 cals, so I needed to eat over 1000 before bed. So instead of panic, I went to the grocery store to get ideas. I wanted high cal, low sodium. I ended up making myself a steak salad with lots of goddess dressing, and for dessert I had raspberry truffle Haagen-Dazs ice cream and I added 100 grams of real raspberries to give me extra fiber to pass all this food in the morning, haha! Oh and I started my TOM yesterday.

I was not very hungry yesterday and consequently had a hard time sticking to that 1900 cal goal. But on the other hand I was pretty sedentary (only 3,700 steps). So, maybe my appetite is tightly attuned to my activity level? Wouldn't that be nice 🙃 As long as I only ate when I was hungry (and not emotional/bored 🙄🙊) this would be easy 😂
Overall I'm really feeling great! And I hope to go for a jog later today and eat my 1900 cals!

I ended up doing a super short jog last night when the rain stopped. It was nice but today I am sore. Last night I wasn't hungry for the 1900 cals but I really don't want to lose anymore weight so I ended the night with more raspberry truffle Haagen-Dazs ice cream! That stuff is calorie dense and delicious, it makes it easy to add an extra 450 cals at the end of the day! Although I did go to sleep full which was weird.
Today maybe I will try to have a bigger breakfast.

There's that jump in the scale I was expecting from food bulk in NY system! But I'm not worried for two reasons A) I know it's physically impossible to gain a pound of fat from the amount of calories I'm consuming/burning in three days. I'm still at the bottom of my maintenance range, gaining is good!
(Part of me does want to end the round at a loss, but I know that has to end sometime since I'm in maintenance 😂).
Yesterday was really good activity wise. I had a long walk and did 50 min of yoga.9 -

03/24 Sunday 240.5 Did spend some time being active outdoors today.
03/25 Monday 237.4 Tracked all my food today for the first time since starting this challenge in the last round. Always seem to end up around 14% protein instead of 20%. Tried PB Fit peanut powder mixed with water on toast and liked it.

I walked 11,638 steps and did one round of level one from the 30 Day Shred. I'm either going to go to the gym this afternoon or doing another 30 Day Shred. I need to drink more water!

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

The bad news - I'm not dropping the weight I regained Nov-March. The good news - I'm averaging more calories than seems possible and seem to have hit a balance point, suggesting that my metabolism is faster from regular exercise + a little more muscle. So I'm working at cutting my calories a bit, but also feel pretty optimistic that I''ll drop the weight when the weather settles into "lovely outside" and I get back to my long walks, some hikes, and putting in a new perennial+annuals garden (we moved in a year ago May and our backyard is a blank slate). I still have some pain and stiffness from PMR, but feel MUCH better than I did all last summer and fall. I have to get blood work next week to check my inflammation levels again, but can't help but think they're down since I feel so much better. I see a new rheumatologist April 8, which should be interesting. I'm still determined not to take prednisone, at least not long term. So now I'm off to the gym and then to look for paint to paint a garden bench. Thinking some luscious shade of violet. Have a lovely weekend, friends! Oh - and look who has moved into my front porch! House finches.

Yesterday was a good day food wise, though I did skip the gym. But I went shopping (rare for me) and walked quite a bit. I'm getting back to tracking my 10-day calorie average, which served me well before and, like weight trends, makes more sense than daily numbers. I just joined a walking/hiking challenge run by our city & county parks, local land trust, and a couple other organizations - hike 10 of 14 designated trails and earn a thingy to fasten to a walking stick or wherever. I'm going to try to get in all of last year's trails as well, plus I'm challenging myself to hike at least one day at each of most of our beautiful state parks (I figure since some are a pretty good drive, those will be two-dayers!). This round may be a wash (again), but next round! Yeah, baby! So happy to see Spring, even if today is gloomy rainy. Happy weekend, all!

03/24 152.6 This makes 5.2 down since I started this challenge, and 2.8 down overnight! Now that's the week 1 whoosh I'd hoped for and never got. I exercised and ate some calories back, had my usual ice cream bar and even three squares of caramel dark chocolate yesterday! I also looked up the calories in my favorite bakery cookies and discovered to my horror that each one has over 500 calories! I used to eat several in the course of a day. Maybe I can have one occasionally on maintenance, but I am so glad I'm not blindly stuffing my face now!
I feel like tracking on MFP has revealed that holy grail of successful weight loss: moderation. I'm finally empowered to enjoy treats in moderation, guilt-free. Other big lessons so far: I must practice patience (this is all gonna go way more slowly than I'd like!), and I can't freak out when the numbers on the scale go up or plateau. It's all part of this nonlinear process.
My original goal weight for this round was 153.8, but I'm lower than that today, so I've revised the goal to be 151.8. That's only 1 lb in the next 10 days, slow and steady.
03/25 154.8 Well, it's to be expected. I may bounce up and down over the next few days. I ended the last round at 155.4, and that's probably closer to the truth. 153 still feels attainable for this round. Focusing on lots of hydration and staying in my calorie range while getting as close to my protein macros as possible.
03/26 155.6. Sigh. Okay. I ate super salty foods yesterday and I know this isn't a true reflection of what's going on. My pants feel looser, at least! My 153 goal for this round seems less likely bu the day, but there are still 7 days left. A lot can happen.
03/27 155.6. All right, as long as I don't gain, this means I'm basically maintaining what I've lost so far. Still down more than 2 lbs, and more importantly, I'm feeling better than I have in a while about my ability to stick with something. I have to admit, knowing I'm posting here every day makes a difference! I clearly need this level of accountability.

Up, down, down, way up, stall... it's so helpful to see others' 10-day logs and notice similar patterns, and so encouraging to see the longer trends of true weight loss for those of you who've been at this for a while. I love that there are a couple of maintainers in this group, too! The struggle doesn't necessarily end, but you get to carry on in a lighter, more fit body. I can deal with that! Okay, 5 MORE DAYS to stay within my calorie limit, drink tons of water, and maybe even fit in some light exercise.

Just .2 lbs away from 20 lbs total weight loss from when I started and solidly in size 12 clothing. I tried on my dresses yesterday and will be able to donate the size 16 (around 5 dresses, which felt good). I also just moved out of 29 BMI to a 28 number, so one number closer to 24.9

03/25 - 153.6 and there is my Sunday family dinner gain! 2.7 pounds, uuugggh. My husband decided he was going to grill some t-bones last night and they were amazing. We also had grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes with it. Then I decided I needed a couple of mini butterfingers. So the weight is well deserved, I am assuming mostly carbs and food still in my stomach. Anytime I eat steak it stays with me for a couple of days. Had a great Sunday though and back to eating clean today. Looking for that 149 sometime this round.
03/26 - 152.1 Got to love sodium and carbs. Should be back down tomorrow and back on track for a loss by Friday. Have all my meals planned for today and should stay under calories again. Pushing to see that 149 this week!
03/27 - 151.1 am almost back to my starting weight for the round. I was only a couple of ounces away from where I was. The scale flashed 150.7 and then stuck on 151.1. I got off and on a couple of times to try and make 150.7 stick, but it didn't, so I will have to settle for this, lol. Still not feeling 100%, allergies are killing me and now I have no voice. So just trying to drink my water and tea and get through the day. I have a roast in the crock pot for dinner tonight, so that should make tonight easier and I can get some rest.
03/28 - 152.1 no idea why it's up. Ate under calories yesterday and didn't have any late night snacking. Ate a little bit of roast for dinner and a big salad for my side. No mashed potatoes, roll or dessert. Woke up with a really dry mouth this morning, so maybe I am just dehydrated from allergy pills. Going to try and drink more water today and see what the scale says tomorrow. I see another 10 day round of floating around 150-152. Not giving up, but 149 may be in the next round. I think my body is anti-weighing under 150, lol.
03/29 - 150.1 Yesterday I was completely over trying to lose weight. I have been working so hard to get into the 140's it has taken over my life. I was beyond frustrated and was thinking about taking a break from this whole thing. I actually ate about 2 handfuls of cheese combos and had 2 beers when I got home from work. Then I snapped myself back into reality and had a salad for dinner instead of the chicken fried chicken that I had planned on having. I think I have figured out my spikes are due to red meat (steak, brisket, roast)n and eating after 7:00. I know it's great for iron and protein, but I think it stays in my stomach longer than chicken or hamburger meat for some reason. So I am avoiding it for the next week or 2 and see if that is what causes the crazy 2 or 3 pound spikes. I always lose the weight right away, but it really messes up my 10 day and 5 day averages. This morning I got on the scale when I first woke up and it said 150.0, after my shower and stuff it said 150.1. Not really much of a difference, still not 149, so I'm sticking with the 150.1. Staying on track today so far and waiting to see what the next 4 days bring me.
03/30 - 151.9 uugghh. Maybe it’s from dinner out last night. I was not expecting the uptick to be honest. I picked the chicken fajitas and ate a ton of the veggies. Only had half a tortilla and mostly stayed away from the rice and beans. I did cave and have a margarita, so maybe it’s from that. Hopefully I will be back down tomorrow. This is the longest and most frustrating plateau I have ever had. I think I am going on 3 weeks of floating around 150 or 151. Today I have to help my oldest move out and into his first place with his girlfriend. They found a really cute condo, but it is just crazy that I have a child old enough to move into his own condo and in with a girl. I really like her and she is good for him, I just worry about them being so young. Lol, they are both only 20 years old, so hopefully they don’t make me a grandmother anytime soon. First Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 175 by my Birthday on May 10th by sticking to my plan to lose 1.5 pounds per week (or 2 lbs per round).
My Second Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 165 by the 4th of July using the same plan as above.
My Third Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 145 by Halloween.
Exercise:
During each Weight goal I plan on doing cardio in the form of dancing at aerobic levels whenever possible. I would also like to walk as much as possible although walking outside is impossible for me this time of year.

I slept 5 hours & 15 minutes & woke up refreshed. I exercised myself nearly to death yesterday (for an old lady, that is!) I walked for 115 minutes inside the school I also danced for 43 minutes. 03/28 …..187.6 ….. I’ve finished reading all the posts from yesterday & realized there was something in the air that caused all the LNS, cravings & especially the bingeing last night. I, too, was overcome by this mysterious fog that enveloped so many. I had a great hardworking day at my DD’s helping her again. Plenty of calorie burn & steps. I stuck to my eating plan perfectly. Then the fog rolled in last night while I was in bed watching TV. Why did I buy that Easter candy so soon? Sale? Well, it wasn’t worth it. Mini kit kats, kisses & reece cups took over my life for a few minutes there. I was SHOCKED to see the scale read the same this morning. Either I will see it in a day or two show up on that scale or I have been given yet another chance to prove myself. 1928 Calories In/ 2995 Calories Out. 143 Net Carbs. (OMgosh). 15,282 Total Steps & 6.47 Total Miles. IF 12:12 . Fitbit Step Hours 13/13. I slept 6 hours & 22 minutes (probably in a sugar crash). I danced for 20 minutes. Sample song “Flat bottom girls” by Queen. I hate posting when I have disappointed myself, but I’m only going to succeed if I continue tracking, logging, weighing & keeping myself honest & accountable. This challenge is one of my weapons & one of the most important tools in my toolbox. I hope to have a much better night tonight.
03/29 …..188.1 ….. That LNS from the 28th finally showing up on the scale. Tons of movement yesterday or it may have been worse. Today my DGS’s invited me out to lunch, their treat, so I will likely be over carbs but will watch my calories carefully. But when I do eat out I do know what to expect including bloating & water retention. They are in 5th grade & 6th grade and have never taken me to lunch before so they are feeling like charming gentlemen & I look forward to it. Late afternoon I have a salon appt. for haircut so a little more sitting will be had overall today. Then my DD will be coming over for some girly stuff. She is going to start selling Mary Kay & wants to show me some things. All in all, busy day planned & so I won’t be able to walk at the school today but fun with family is always fantastic. Yesterday’s stats: 1538 Calories In/2764 Calories Out. 32 Net Carbs. 20,103 Total Steps & 8.58 Total Miles. IF 12:12 . 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 15 minutes but needed more. Tired today. I walked 79 Minutes inside the school & I danced for 41 minutes in 2 sets. Sample song “Soul Man” by the Blues Brothers.
03/30 …..189.6 ….. I enjoyed the lunch with my DGS’s a little too much I think. Then dessert last night. Ugg. Back to square one & working on the bloat already today that I feel. Too many calories & carbs to count or admit to. I almost held my hands over my eyes on the scale but decided to look. My fitbit info for yesterday is as follows: 2175 Calories Out. 8180 Total Steps & 3.46 Miles. IF 12:12. Got in 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours (all but the hour I sat in the Salon Chair during appointment). Not sure on sleep as I charged my fitbit last night, but it was between 5 & 6 hours. My hairdresser has found a new bald spot in the back of my head & my hairline has receded even more. She desperately wants to get answers but I am working with my dr & a dermatologist and nothing is helping. I’ve got to keep working on my protein intake.

03/24 347.4. I’m a little surprised at this woosh, I’ll see if it stays. I’m certain tom is starting sometime soon and I usually see a little upswing then, but hopefully I’ll still be solidly in the 340s. My nsv yesterday was staying in calorie goal despite feeling hungry a portion of the day.
03/25 347.8 Not unexpected I had a higher sodium day yesterday and I’m not sure that I got in all my water. I have both a sick kid and a kid who fell skateboarding, she’s okay just bruised, so yesterday was a little rough and it will be a rough day today. My nsv yesterday was not having any of the snacks that my husband picked up to deal with his stress.
03/26 347.2 Looks like I’m really in the 340’s, at least for now. I’ve not only reached my goal for this month, but if this trend continues I’ll be several pounds under where I had hoped to be. My nsv was not having a single bit of the high calorie snacks that my husband got.
03/27 347.8 I’m not surprised by a little gain I took a couple of longer walks yesterday. Both were further than I normally walk, the second one was nearly double the first. I’m feeling those walks this morning so I’m certain that it’s all water and I’ll see my usual pound drop after a bounce around in a day or two. My nsv yesterday were the walks outside, I’m really proud of myself for getting out and doing them.
03/28. 348 Tom should be here soon, I’ve been feeling cramps since last night. I expect once that’s over I’ll see some drops.
03/29. 348.4 I was over calories, over sodium and under on my water intake, it could have been worse.
03/30. 347 Tom finally arrived this morning, as did a nice down swing. I didn’t feel well yesterday and I was under calories by a bit, but since that doesn’t happen often and the day before was high I didn’t bother trying to eat more. I figured listening to my body was better than forcing myself to eat. I’m feeling better today so today should be normal calorie wise.
