New personal story alert. Never before shared:
I was a dork in high school. I joined the JROTC because I held a fantasy of attending a service academy.
The JROTC sponsored a JROTC dance.
It was a co-ed JROTC, and one of the girls was quite 'special', in a way that a teen boy would find good. I was an obese dork who had never danced in my life. She wanted to dance with me. I wished not to do so. She grabbed my shirt and pulled me toward her. My feet did not move. I fell knees-first onto the concrete floor.
And that is how I missed my chance to dance with a special girl.9 -

Why no, we didn't realize anyone had placed a noise complaint. We were just listening to the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever on the stereo but we only had the volume up very slightly. No, no. Nothing whatsoever that would make someone complain. Sheesh. We were just enjoying some root beer floats and gold fish crackers here and dancing a little - John Travolta style. No need to call for back up, heh heh heh.

I'll overthink this party and everyone who attends. I will likely drink too much because I am super anxious and anymore 2 is too much. I'll be a social butterfly with red cheeks, bit still analyzing all the glances, body language and comments. Afterwards I will drive myself crazy wondering if I did anything that made someone sad, mad, annoyed, etc.7
