The fat seems to re-distribute. At least it did for me. When I lost my 20lbs of weight, my butt was much smaller, stomach still poochy, and boobs totally deflated. Several months later of maintenance, my boobs have filled back in a bit, and my stomach seems less poochy. So there's hope that all the wierd places you're* losing will balance out.

I had the same thing happen when I lost my big weight (75 pounds). I thought I looked good when I hit goal but a few months later I noticed I had a "gut" again - albeit a much smaller "gut" than the party ball I had before.

I catch myself with this. It see the pooch and think "aw man, still poochy! dangit!" then I remember, it's not sitting on my thighs when I use the rest room anymore, lol. The pooch waxes and wanes it seems for me. If I'm slacking on working it, it starts coming back. Probably due to muscle tone then fat, but I'm not sure.
How much more stronger you'll become...mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and even financially and all the other "ally's" too. You will catch yourself doing/being/thinking counter-productive "mess" and stand against and u p to what you once used to "bow down" to, when you were obese/overweight and feeling all sorry for yourself and all easily offended and whatnot...those days will be over or at the very least, almost over, because what/how you used to feel about yourself will change...for the BETTER--you'll become STRONGER baby--yes you will!

The slower we lose weight, the better. It is challenging to look into the mirror and see a total stranger, albeit a much more attractive stranger, when we move from obese to slender. People treat us so much better when we are thinner and more attractive, and that is so confusing. It's like they are throwing rose petals in your path as you walk, when before they would not even sit next to you.
Going into a store to dress ourselves becomes challenging because in the past regular department stores did not carry our sizes. As we try to figure out our smaller new size and what looks attractive on our new body shape, we are again in a state of confusion. GO SLOW TO GO FAST. There are so many adjustments to be made when we become thinner and it is so much easier when the process slows down.
Re:I wanted to wait until I was done losing weight and had maintained for at least 6 months. I don't want to have to have it resized repeatedly, it's already been resized once (to make it bigger). The metal can only be manipulated so much. [/quote]
Time for a "decoy" ring. Meaning a lower sentemental or costume piece, that looks nice. Time to go to the safety deposit box Unless you don't mind losing it.
That your feet will/may shrink as get to your final or close to final goal weight. When I was obese and even overweight, I ALWAYS wore a solid 8.5 shoe. In rare instances I would take a size 8. I try on size 8's now and they swallow my feet, I'm now buying sizes 7.5 and even have some size 7's now as well. When I was young and skinny as a stick many moons ago, I wore a size 6-6.5 shoe. Wow...my feet size shrank (and yours may too)
No one told me that when I go to buy sale clothing, I have trouble finding sizes in my smaller sizes since I am now wearing things the same size as everyone else. I used to save on the bigger sizes---there were more of them on the racks!

Unfortunately, I've had the opposite reaction. I lost the first 35lbs (of 42lbs) rather quickly, over 6 months. I retained my boobs.
Lost 7lbs over the next 6 months, lost my boobs.
Of course, I'm also a lot closer to my ultimate goal. I'm down into the "normal" body fat range (by estimates, haven't had dexa or anything). It may just be that my body held on to my boobs as long as it had "extra" fat, but when I got down to less fat they had to go.

Do you also carry a lot of weight in your arms? I hold a lot of weight in my top half and I'm hoping that, while it may come last, that I'll lose some in the chest and arms.
I'm thicker through the middle now than when I was the same weight in college, 25 years ago. The unexpected cool thing (what qualifies as my 'what nobody told you') is that everybody thinks I look amazing now, as compared with by family members and girlfriends who maintained steady weights but now in their 40s are self-evidently thicker through the middle (fat-to-muscle ratio has shifted over the years even if weight hasn't changed much). It's a weird psychological tricke middle aged and 'getting hotter' as opposed to looking like you're starting to be middle aged ...
That middle ground is such a battle!
I take inspiration from Jennifer Gardner (actress) who has an amazing sculptered bod after three kids and pushing middle aged. Pretty sure she acheived it at the gym and not at the plastic surgeon! Lol
It has also started feeling like I have Tardis clothing. It looks too small to fit, but it always does so it has to be bigger on the inside, right?
So much this! I keep looking at my jeans when I pick them up and doing a double take. Yet I still look heavy to myself, it’s seeing those jeans that makes it sink in!
That as you lose weight, people seem to notice you more.
This is a really odd one as when I was huge, I was apparently pretty well invisible. Ignored by all, which was fine by me.
Now I've lost weight, more people say "good morning " to me, or make random comments or will ask me for directions, even though there are other people around.
I actually don't like talking to random strangers and tend not to look at people when I'm out and about and I'm not particularly friendly to randoms. So I don't understand it.

Not specifically, mostly my boobs and lower belly (also a lot of loose skin), product of having 3 babies in a short time frame and breastfeeding a lot.
I will say the "last 5lbs" has made my arms look a lot thinner though. More than my hips/legs. Come to think of it, the last bit of fat has helped my upper body more than my lower body.

I got this, too... It was like I hit some specific barrier right about 220 pounds.. Suddenly, men and women both, seemed to see me... holding doors, saying hello, the whole thing. It used to be if people noticed me at all they quickly looked away - but, once I hit the magic size 18-20, it was as if I had been dropped into another universe... where I wasn't invisible anymore. SO weird.
I figured it had to be because suddenly I was a "relatable" size... before I was so huge as to be foreign... but when I got to size 18-20, suddenly I was "the same size as Aunt Jean," or "smaller than my Sister"... or whatever. I hit a range where someone they knew existed, and I was no longer a foreign entity.

1. Certain things become so easy. Ex: painting your toes, tying your shoes, etc.
2. Now I get when people say it is cold. I used to be warm all the time...
3. You even lose weight in your feet. You will change size.
4. Sorry for this but... cleaning up after bathroom trips is different 🤭😜
5. You will wake up feeling really rested bc the quality of your sleep will be 10 x better.
6. It will help regulate your hormones...
I have so many, the list can go on and on... lol
I'm really hoping for this part. Mine were really off a few months ago according to bloodwork.
