@maryrobinson40 You go Girl!!!
@Bex953172 You did an amazing job being mindful when there were temptations all around you. Also, it is so much fun when the little ones start to walk. She'll be into everything before long, making you laugh and driving you crazy at the same time.
@rb0619 Hi Rachael! Glad you found this group. These women are amazingly supportive and kind. Nikki
Lol shes already in to everything!
The worst things too lol!
She always puts the dogs food into his water bowl, then tips the water bowl.
1 sec.. this is her right now lol!
Oh and thats the finished wallpaper too lol!

I am so far behind on all the postings. Where did yesterday go? This problem with MyFitnessPal is bumming me out. Hard to get things posted and not posting steps from my Fitbit.
JFT 6/6/19
1600 calories seems like the reasonable level with more steps and activity
4000 steps
get some chores around the house done
No snacking or wine after dinner
Have a great day3 -
I never before was able to eat 1200 calories and have energy, but working with my macros has helped a lot and strength training allows me to hit an acceptable TDEE4

Argh I’m struggling here - app not letting me access the forums so I’ve had to log in via the desktop site. Finally caught up ridiculously late in the day. Far too many posts to respond to but I am sending love, hugs and high fives to you all. So much effort and positivity and support on here.
Soooo goals. This June challenge is definitely working for me so far. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I never really log properly when I fall off the wagon. So promising to log it all is so far keeping me on the straight and narrow!

I needed this today. Thanks!

I also love the way you put this. So very important ... and something for all of us to really think about! When we help someone, we never know who else might just need to read this today .. so thank you!2 -
@nlmackey98 I really like reading your posts. I think it admirable to get up so early to go to the gym. I find late afternoon works best for me. Then I can go home and relax instead of trying to stay awake at work. All the best3

I have been sticking to 500 calories under, staying in green, not walking as much.
1. Log everything
2. Get in a decent amount of exercise like 30 minutes.
3. Eat more veggies
4. Weigh myself every day to keep accountable
5. Stay in green
On that score, I rejoined the gym yesterday. I got bored with it and I’m really only going now to keep hubby company when he goes in the morning evening. I find I can do exercise in front of the tv and walking the dogs.3 -
JFT 5/6
Mindful eating
drink water mindfully
take meditation breaks as needed
30 minutes of mindful movement
Speak up for yourself
3 -
So, what a day yesterday!
We (hubby and I) were launching one of our services that we have just finished and we had such an exciting day reaching out to users. We celebrated each user, there was even jumping in excitement on my side, which was not a very smart move since it triggered my gallstones in the night, but I survived
For this project, I am in charge of marketing which is sooo out of my comfort zone, I know nothing about it, which is both frightening and exciting. Also, my personality traits are rather reactive then initiating, I hate to make the first contact and risk being pushy, but I took it as a learning opportunity.
Regarding eating, it was not a very good day, I snacked the entire day (mostly fruit though), but on the positive side, what I consider now a binge day a few months ago would be a low-calorie day. So, I'll take that as an improvement.
Today I am deciding to not live in the past, not even recent (yesterday), but instead, I am going to focus on today. As Corrine from phit-and-phat said:
"If you don’t like your past, then quit vacationing there. It’s not a trip worth paying for. And you’re paying for it every single day at the expense of your dreams and at the expense of every goal you have. So, whatever happened in the past, stays in the past
JFT:
- make and froze cubes of green tea (perfect for hot weather)
- fix finally that nasty bug in the app for the client
- eat healthy, veggie-based dinner
- look into video recordings for demo and promo
- one French listening&reading lesson
Also, summer hit hard here yesterday, out of nowhere, so I need a strategy to deal with hot weather.
I love this post.... LMBO "stop vacationing there"... Awesome Sauce!!! @daneejela

Glad the glitches with MFP seem to be worked out. Missed being able to read in the forums during my morning and lunch walk!
Love the quote about not vacationing in the past--it is very meaningful to me and it is easy to drop back there.

Be attentive at Synod Assembly
Not sure what Assembly will be like. It takes place Friday and Saturday. Will be a lot of sitting, but I am parking at our church, then walking up the hill on campus where meeting takes place. I figure on break times I can sneak outside and get some steps in. It isn't just for the exercise per se, but I get stiff sitting too long. At least this will be a different experience for me--one more thing to try as I redefine myself and my life.
I really enjoy seeing the progress everyone makes on their goals. Hope to get better at responding.

Thursday
- June challenge 🙂
- Walk dog🙂
- 6 cups of water! (Initiating Operation Red Cup!)❌
- Exercise.. i AM still a bit sore but could maybe try some stretches, see if that helps!❌
Totally failed on water, i dont even know how many i had!
I didnt do any exercise but i did take girls to the park.
Yesterday was just a nightmare.
The girls were just so messy. Its really deflating when i find it hard to keep it clean in the first place and it just gets undone within about 10 minutes.
And the dog, let him out last night for a wee before bed, he comes ba k in and he was whining a little bit after i got in bed.
He had fresh water, hed had his dinner and been let out, so we just thought hes probably whining to come upstairs.
Nip down later, poo in the kitchen, i was annoyed but no bother, cleaned it up, bleached it. He never does that so its a 1 off, i just put it down to him just not going whilst he was in the garden.
Come down this morning, diarrhoea, in the lounge, on the rug. Not something you wanna see at 6.30am.
Anyway, thats that. I was not in a good mood last night or this morning lol

JFT 6/
Drink lots of water
2 glasses of wine at dinner only
Deep breathing meditation as needed
30 minutes exercise
I am holding it together, though I had a few glasses of wine yesterday afternoon which I don't usually do during the week, to just deal with my emotions. Not the best response but I honestly don't even know how to cope with my Dad's visit in any other way. He doesn't like to do anything, so we end up just sitting around and staring at our phones or watching tv. Then I have anxiety that he's bored. Today I have the whole day with him, and my goal is to not use an unhealthy coping mechanism. So I'm going to take him to the city, and we can walk around a cool neighborhood. He can't really do much because he has his little dog with him everywhere, so we can't go biking or ride on the new scooters. My city is really dog friendly but there are still limitations.
Anyway, he his leaving tomorrow morning so I only have to get through one more day.3 -
Goals today(and everyday)...
Continue tracking logging all I eat
Stay within my numbers
Have positive thoughts
Hope everyone enjoys their day3 -

Scale goalsEnd of 2017: 174.6
End of 2018: 189.2
January 2019: 186.0
February 2019: 187.0
Today: 193.8
Ongoing plans/ideas behind the cut1. Purchases: Go to Mac store and see if they can retrieve the files off the iMac. Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for Design for How People Learn (Julie Dirksen), On Writing (Stephen King), Dying for a Paycheck (Robin Hardman), The Prince (tr. Tim Parks, Russell Price, or Robert Adams), The Secret Adversary (Christie).
2. E2: What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Schedule assessments for Fall 2019; plan out return times. Align assessments with OW units.
5. Professional Development: Write blog post weekly. Comment on 3 posts each week -Tu Th Sun? Check with PSC. Talk with Z about articles and/or conference proposals. NOTE: ATTEND POST FLEX DAY RATHER THAN PRE FLEX DAY. Upload summer project checklist July 1.
6. Medical: Dentist. Onco. PCP. Call to set up checkups with Dass (October). GET MAGAZINES FOR COLLAGES FROM DOCTORS.
7. Theater: Audition for Mamma Mia???
8. House: Mineral oil on tile spots. Check with D about ceiling and taking items to the dump.
9. Fun: Open beading on Thursdays. Coloring at library on Tuesday. Put jewelry away.
WFTY: Climbing.2 -
Good morning all! I finally caught up reading everything. Big hugs to all who need it, you are all amazing!
Yesterday we were approved for our home loan, so that was really exciting.
The 4 point inspection went pretty well except for one area.. The roof. They said it has about 2-5 years left (it is the original roof from 2005) but it is definitely showing some wear, especially in the front where it gets the most sun.
I'm not really sure what all that means for us, we're going to have a roofer come out and assess everything. Regardless of whether or not the seller will pay for any repair or replacement, I do think we should still buy this house.. Everything else is in great condition, AC and hot water heater are brand new, it's quite large for the price and the location is unbeatable. I'm not sure I want to tell the seller that though!
Of course this has me stressing out now so I overate yesterday but I managed to stop around maintenance calories, so I am proud of myself for that! I need to not give in to my anxiety. I just want to buy the house and have everything go smoothly..I want it so bad.
Anyways..I hope everyone has a great day!

@PackerFanInGB;c-43778878"]@asclepsia Hi! Good to see you this morning! Awesome news about your decreased cholesterol at your checkup! I've not heard of a pipe organ guild test. Pipe organ music is beautiful so I'll bet it was an incredible experience! Thanks for checking in. You've been missed!
Thank you for your kind words. The organ where I took the test is magnificent— even chopsticks would sound good on it! My computer is in the repair shop, so I’m attempting to log in with my iPad; the format is different. I haven’t kept up with calorie counting either—same reason. Looking forward to getting my computer back, so that I can get back into my routine.2 -
Well, today's the day of the French exam!
I had the oral exam this morning, that didn't go super well. You have half an hour to prepare, in which you have to read a short extract from an article and prepare a presentation on your point of view on it. You then have to present for 10-15 mins ish and then have a conversation with the examiner about it.
It was pretty challenging as the article I picked (at random, you don't really get to choose - you choose between two based on the title alone) was full of lots of words I didn't know and because I was quite nervous anyway I panicked a lot and wasn't able to think clearly to read it. I actually nearly walked out. But then managed to calm myself down and have a bash. I THINK I talked about the right thing....
The presentation itself went ok I think, I could have done a LOT better - my grammar was all over the shop and I kept repeating the same words because I was too nervous for my brain to think clearly to retrieve alternative ones - but at the same time I did manage to talk for over ten minutes (I think) and then understood and responded to all questions. So HOPEFULLY I have done ok.
I'm now in a cafe waiting for the other three papers which start in an hour. I planned to revise at lunch but I'm a bit freaked out so think I'm going to prioritize relaxing and calming down. Think overall that is probably most important...
Soon it will be over - either way!
Happy Friday everyone6 -

Good luck! Well done for not walking out! Youve probably done better than you think! I used to always think the worst! When i did it at GCSE level, our class was the "bottom set" which meant we were no good at it LOL (its a long story on how that happened, the substitute teacher never returned after a few lessons with us and then we got the most strictest teacher ever for our last year LOL) anyway, no one was expected to get a higher grade than a C due to the whole class basically c**king around for 2 years of French lessons but me and one other girl got a B!
Youve been learning properly, so dont worry, its all in there, i think relaxation is best!5 -
Low activity day yesterday (really fatigued) and high calorie day. Not a good combination. In looking at my food diary there were an unusually high processed foods of bread (In N Out burger) and pasta (leftovers from previous day) so today I'm really going to focus on high protein meals (eggs for breakfast), turkey chili for Lunch and chicken breast and veggies for dinner and check to see if my hunger is due to too many processed carbs.
Today we'll enjoy our 8 year old grandson. He has a new (used) bike so my husband and he will go for a ride on our local trails while I go to PT.
@bookmeister86 Fingers crossed that your French exam went well - nerve wracking.
@aubryshortcake Exciting to follow the progress on your first house.
What are the monthly challenges? Did I miss the June Challenge? Can someone give me the background? Thanks

Rodger came home early yesterday and is home today due to rain. This really messes with my routine. I hope I can convince him to go get the stuff we need for the door to the bathroom and start working on it. We have so much I want done before company arrives.
I just have to tell you how my swimming lesson went last night. Last weeks was cancelled because the smoke in the air caused the sprinkler system to go off in the rec centre so it’s been 2 weeks. I swam laps the first 1/2 hour and then my instructor told me we were going to dive. I did it TWICE! Then he said ok, I think you’re ready to get up on the diving block and just walk in. I did it, without flailing around like a fish out of water (haha) when I touched bottom. I just went down and came back up! I am so thankful my friend bought this set of lessons. I wish she had been able to join me.8 -
Jacqui2494 - I don’t like a gym either, I have paid for a membership on two separate occasions and won’t ever again. How is the new baby and your daughter? Is the baby a boy or girl?
Zizzybumble - how long are you home for before you go back?
Littleblackskirt - wouldn’t it be nice if humans still answered phones? Calling any big corporation or government office is such a pain.
Bex953172 - oh no! Sorry about the dog. It really is disheartening when you clean and the kids wreck it. Do they have a separate area to play in, or just the main living area?
Wannabeskinnycat - love the Dr. Seuss.
Korina75 - almost done hang in there.
Aubyshortcake - 2-5 years down the road isn’t too bad, but if they knock a little off the price it would be even better.
Bookmeister86 - you are probably done everything now for your French exam I hope it went well for you. How long before you get results?
Lafayettenana - June challenge is to log everything accurately the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
