@GrandmaJackie Thank you for the shout out! I do love this group! I didn’t start until Round 6 or 7 when @cyranda63 was starting each round. @hillcrestbaby was the originator, although there is also a @hillcrestbaby12345
Several folks have been on here as long or almost as long as I. @TerriRichardson112 and @tiabirdie56 are two names I seem to recall from my beginning. @SheilaBoneham joined shortly after.
I am addicted to this group and I do read every post - unless I’m cruising.🤪🤪 Next cruise is at the end of August, 12 days after I return home from this trip to Oklahoma.3 -
SUNDAY GOAL HIT🎉🎉🎉🎉🍾
RD 82. 07/01/19
7/01:242.2
7/02:242.2 at least not an increase. Did a four mile walk yesterday. Still tight from Saturday’s hike😂. Goal Is to reach 240 this round. Not even a 1% drop, but down is down.
7/03: 242.0 no walk in last night. Watched son play football receiver game.
7/04: 241.0 lbs 🎉🎉 1 more pound to 240. Q
7/05: 243.0 wow😂 no surprise this morning. I really did enjoy the forth. I ate a lot of beef and pork ( the baby back ribs were to die for. I know my body so I will be back on track today and the number is temporary. Goal is still 240 by Sunday. Hike tonight and Saturday.
7/06: 241 long hikes today. Body is tired but not sore. Total of 5-6 miles. They hikes are getting easier but not mountain hike conditioning. Still need another 5-6 wks. Knocking on 240 lbs. need to start resistance trading to ramp things up.
7/07: 239.2 lbs🎉🥳 this is a great way to start the day. Are well yesterday. Stayed with the life style change that actually is easier after a rough start. Better educated I have become on what my body actually likes and getting more activity in has been good. Now I can start using the gym membership I have not made time for. Will need to work out in the early evening to make sure the boys get to their respective sport commitments. 1 is just about ready to drive! Woohoo to me!!!! Goal for the end of next round is 235 lbs, last seen in 2015😳. Hope to drop 1 more pound by next round.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

7/3 124.5 I only ate about half of the small salad I made for lunch yesterday. Just not hungry. Made myself eat a Flying Dutchman for dinner. Next time I won’t add onion because Carl gives me most of his! Today doctor and stock car races!
7/4 124.5 Met daughter and 4 grandkids for lunch at Cici’s but I wasn’t hungry so had the steak salad I had made for lunch yesterday after doctor appointment. Ate a hot dog at the races last night- no bun. The doctor said my labs are excellent but we are changing my BP med.The races were great last night! Wonderful fireworks there. Today a BBQ at friends only a block away.
7/5 125.5 Flying to Tulsa
7/6 124.0 Yesterday ended up fasting for about 25 hours then daughter and I went to Mexican fast food and had a beef nacho salad. Only had 1.5L of water. Not sure what that will do to the scale tomorrow but it was the “last hurrah” as we are Keto shopping today and I will be cooking for the next several weeks as she recovers from surgery.
7/7 124.0 Lots of walking yesterday at Sam’s and Walmart. Today - food prep, this afternoon we’re getting together with our oldest granddaughter for fun at Pinot’s Palette.7 -
Goals for R82/July
- Exercise - walk 5-6 miles/day at least 5 days/week; walk one new-to-me trail/week.
- Food - mostly veggies, fish, whole grains, and fruit; very limited flour & added sugar; aim for 1300 cal max.

7/2 – 158.4
More garden work yesterday - makes me happy to see it come together. Also makes me hungry! But I'm making good choices. I love summer!
7/3 – 158.2
I've moved almost the entire 5 sq yards of soil and I've started planting my new flower beds. I decided a few weeks ago to give myself a "creative sabbatical" to get my yard in shape -- I'm a writer, but intentionally not writing this summer -- and it's clearing my mind and strengthening my body and spirit. Sometimes we have to feed the inner self as well as the outer. I'm also trying to let go of specific weight goals for now -- I'm healthy, my clothes fit, and as long as I hold or lose a little, I'm fine with that. But you guys help keep me mindful and mostly on track (since most people don't want to hear about nutrition & weight all the time!). Thanks!
7/4 – 158.4
Have a safe holiday if you’re in the U.S.
7/5 – 159
I indulged a bit yesterday, and I know my sodium level was high. Back on track today.
7/6 – 160.4
Other than some peach crisp last night, I did well yesterday (and worked about 3 hours planting my new garden!). I assume this uptick is from the day before. Have a lovely weekend, all!
7/7 – 160.2
Right. Okay. I didn’t expect to gain weight doing all the heavy lifting I did over the past week. Oh, well. Garden looking promising! (Please indulge me re. the photos — I’m excited to have a garden again after moving around & renting for 10 years.)

07/02 159.6 - 13,400 I’ve been waiting for this drop and so excited to be in 150s!!
07/03 159.8 - 15,300
07/04 160.8 - 13,100 Up from sodium and TOM coming. Will probably be up more tomorrow from all the carbs tonight and plan to eat at maintenance. The 4th has always been a big celebration for my family and my favorite holiday. I hope you all have a wonderful 4th!
07/05 162.4 - 13,700 calories were fine but between carbs and the worst pms ever, I have massive water retention.
07/06 163.8 - 10,900 terribly swollen today. My fingers hurt to bend and my face looks like I went out drinking all night. But on the plus side, all this water retention has filled in my wrinkles. Lol! Finally TOM has arrived this morning so hopefully just a few more days of this misery.
07/07 162.6 - 13,000 So happy I didn’t go up again!!

Please join us! Starting on 07/02 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 82
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

Day/Weight/Comment
07/02 152.6 ~ {Steps 17,711} ~ It’s been a few weeks since I didn’t have to struggle with logging everything, YESTERDAY BOOM! My husband and I took a drive to the coast, Pete loveeeed walking in the sand!
Day 1 no LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm ✅
07/03 152.1 ~ {Steps 14,331} ~ The day was spent doing a lot of errands in the morning, that being said my husband wasn’t working these last 3 days! Usually THOSE are the days I struggle with making healthy food choice, I call it a win even though the scale barely dropped!
Day 2 no LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm ✅
07/04 151.6 ~ {Steps 14,331} ~ I seriously need to continue to focus, we decided to have dinner at our favorite restaurant! I usually don’t make the healthiest food choices and over eat, boom not yesterday, woot hoot! I can do this I can, I can, I can!
Day 3 no LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm ✅
07/05 ~ 151.1 {Steps 18,362 } ~ We went to FreedomFest enjoying a classic car show with some entertainment, a tribute to The Beach Boys plus lunch. Pete did extremely well with the sound of fireworks[/b]
Day 4 no LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm ✅
07/06 151.5 ~ {Steps 20,506} ~ Everything was spot on with exercising and eating until around 8pm. Yes, the late night snacks”attacked” me, hence the bump in the scale. The kettle corn keep calling my name, “eat me, eat me”. Time to jump back on the horse!
Day 4 yes on both accounts - LNS, under carb goal and not eat after 6pm
07/07 151 ~ {Steps 21,597} ~ BACK ON TRACK, WOOT HOOT!
Day 5 - LNS, under carb goal and no eating after 6pm ✅

Goals for Round 82 (17th Round)
End weight for round 82 at or below 143.0
Drink 72 oz of water
Sleep 7+ hours every day
Add strength training 3 times a week.
07/02 143.8 starting the round the same as the end of the round, which is a better than last round. Going to a barre class today. I find them kind of boring, but muscles burn so I think it works and instructor is really good at adjusting.
07/03 143.7 took a barre class yesterday and really enjoyed it (still boring but feels great to stretch and I can do most of the moves) so will be adding that 3 times a week (more strength based than my usual workout)
07/04 143.7 my parents are leaving for a month on Friday on vacation so went to a very nice restaurant with them (prix fix) so did go over calories, but it was a once in a lifetime type of experience so is worth a slight stall in weight. Today I’m going to a barre class and eating light before going to a buffet dinner with family with a fireworks watching area. Hope everyone has a great celebration today!!
07/05 143.7, apparently my body really likes this number! I’ll take it though since I did have a full burger with ketchup and mustard last night and a few different salad options. I also had two gin and sodas, so stayed within calorie range if added all exercise back in. Today, I’m going to try hot yoga for the first time. The same instructor who taught barre yesterday is subbing for that class and she was really good at modifications. I’m not as sore as I thought I would be after barre . With elliptical I usually never take a break, but will take one on Sunday since I’m worried with all of the muscle classes I might overdo it and be out for longer than I want.
07/06 143.6, going to do a morning workout, catch a movie, run some errands and home in the afternoon to do some house cleaning.
07/07 143.4, yesterday’s class was the hardest I’ve ever taken and honestly was so painful after (no modifications and didn’t stretch enough) that I don’t think I’ll do that ever (or at least until I’m closer to my goal). I planned to take today off so will keep eating in check. Happy to be on the other side of 143 going into this week, which is my TOM

Last full round before my almost 3 week cruise/land vacation, so I would like to just make sure that I stay focused this round so that I continue focused on healthy eating while I am on my vacation.
Goal: Average 100g of protein over the 10 day round.
Day/Weight/Comment
7/2: 207.0 Got 87g of protein in yesterday. I could have gotten more if I had changed out one of my snacks to something more protein dense. Trainer tonight.
7/3: 206.7...104g of protein. With the increase in protein I notice that I don't snack as much in the evening as I usually do and also know that I need to increase my water intake so I am also drinking more water. I will be working late tonight, but I still want to make sure I still go out for a run later today.
7/4: 206.1...95g of protein. I had preplanned to get in more protein during my evening snack, but I felt full and didn't want to eat anymore. However, later in the evening I still ended up doing some evening snacking but it wasn't my preplanned protein snack and it was just eating for eatings sake. I need to work on that. Didn't go for a run yesterday, but going to the trainer this morning.
7/5: 206.5...69g of protein. It's funny because I thought I was eating a lot more protein. Also didn't get much water in. Had a great workout with my trainer. I realized that without a race goal I don't have as much motivation to go out and run. I also realized that I was a little depressed that since I had my injury I would now have to start back slowly and all I want to do is jump back to the amount of running I was doing before I got injured, but I know that's not smart. So yesterday I got my big girl pants on and signed up for a 5k in August and I'm going to start up slowly running tonight. The race goal will also help me to stay focused with exercising while I'm on vacation.
7/6: 206.5...66g of protein. I didn't run last night because I worked late, but I went out this morning and ran 1.75 miles the longest run in the 6 weeks since my injury...it felt great. I'm going to work on my protein and water today.
7/7:205.4..66g of protein. I didn't realize how much of a struggle it would be for me to get my protein in. This is the lowest weight I've been in about 4 years but more importantly my body has changed so much with weight training that yesterday when I tried on a pair of jeans that I couldn' fit into when I weighed this same weight 4 years ago I can now fit into them. Trainer today.

My goals for this round are to stay on track with my activity, water, calories, and overall food plan. I have pre-planned the 4th of July to be nicely in calories and hopefully I’ll stick to that plan.
07/02 315.8
07/03 314.8 I’m not surprised by a pound loss, I wasn’t feeling well yesterday and had trouble finding food I wanted to eat. I finally felt like eating midday when I had a snack to hold me off until dinner where I had a favorite comfort meal that I haven’t made in awhile. I weighed it all out though and despite it being a favorite I stayed within my calorie goal. My nsv yesterday was not eating junk or overeating just because I wasn’t feeling well.
07/04 314.6 I’m so happy that I didn’t bounce up a little. I wasn’t great with water yesterday and I took a longer morning walk because the temperature was so much cooler. I also take a rest day on Wednesdays, which I didn’t take yesterday because of the nicer weather.
07/05 314.8 I’m okay with this. I was under calories, but higher on carbs than I’ve been recently. I also need to get better with my water. My nsv was staying on track yesterday.
07/06 314.6 I think I’m holding onto water before tom arrives. This happened last month and I held steady (outside my binge gain) until tom arrived. This time though I will not have a binge and will be patient. Hopefully tom won’t be ten days late this month.
07/07 314.8 I did my strength training yesterday and it went well, I pushed a little harder this time so I’m glad I’m not up.

07/06: I did really well on the exercise front today. I had a fantastic run in the morning, one of the best times I've ever had. However the food front was not so good. I ended up snacking a lot in the afternoon instead of having an actual meal and didn't track anything past breakfast. (note to self: eat real meals)

goal this round; 1.5 lbs less
end goal: 125
2nd round for me. This is a great way to keep in touch with others with similar goals. I'm 49 yo female Canadian expat living in Central America. Good luck all for to continuing the journey to all our goals. To reflect on the last 10 days. I'm stoked that I found this forum, although I'm still having trouble figuring out how to post. On 6/25 I decided to give up alcohol for a month, partly to help with weight loss, but who am I kidding...lol I need a etoh break anyways. So, I'm doing my exercise, and haven't had etoh in 6 days. My carbs are <100 per day..i know not exactly low carb, but i'm just analyzing the last 10 days. My caloric intake is fine, but I need more protein. So, in 10 days lost 1 pound...well, that's still 1 pound less, and no more gained...but more than that I'm on a journey so I'm stoked for the next ten days...
so, goals for this round stay under 50 carbs per day, continue AF, continue exercise...and just see what happens to the scale

07/05 – 145 – I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to post, but I’ve been weighing every day. We’ve got two more picnics this weekend, so I know I’ll be doing a lot of work over the next couple weeks to get back to a better maintenance range. I’m going to try to catch up on all the posts today before the new guests arrive. I hope everyone has a good weekend.
07/06 - 144
07/07 – 143 – I don’t know how this happened. Although I didn’t really overindulge with the food, I’ll admit I had quite a few adult beverages over the past couple days. We’ll see if it hits tomorrow, but otherwise I’m really happy with this weight after all the parties.

07/01 …..194.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
07/02 …..193.6 ….. Starting off another pound down, so the loss is sticking so far. I woke up starving yesterday, but after black coffee I had no hunger all day. I am sure I am fat adapted at this point. Yesterday was my son’s 23rd birthday. The party will be in a few weeks more than likely, but my son, brother & I did a mini-celebration late yesterday evening. We had a BBQ with steak, baked potatoes with sour cream, corn & grilled garlic bread & sherbet icecream. I ate the steak and 1 small baked potato with sc. No corn or bread. No icecream. It was pretty easy to stick to my guns since the hunger is at bay. Yesterday’s stats: 1071 Calories In / 2515 Calories Out. 39 Net Carbs. 11,008 Total Steps & 4.66 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Steps Hours. I did 44 minutes of vigorous cabin cleaning. I slept badly only getting 3 hours & 24 minutes of sleep. Good luck on round 82 Everyone! I appreciate you all.
07/03 …..193.6 ….. Holding steady. 3rd day in a row yesterday with low hunger and low calories. Not enough water & very little shedding. I will work on that today. I expect lots of movement today as I have a full house and am booked out for the next few days due to the holiday. The lack of calories (or water) seems to have stopped the loss on the scale. But the loss is sticking so I’m pleased. I will try to increase my calories a bit today with healthy LCHF foods. Last night I had to eat 2 ounces of cheddar cheese just to get out of the 800 range. Yesterday’s stats: 1062 Calories In / 2450 Calories Out. 23 Net Carbs of mainly veggies. 10,185 Total Steps & 4.31 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Steps Hours. I slept 3 hours & 50 minutes and woke up very early but refreshed (so my weigh-in was an early one). I took an 18 minute walk & I vigorously cleaned a cabin for 37 minutes. I am still feeling very strong in my plan today & my hunger, so far this morning, is still at bay.
07/04 …..193.8 ….. A small blip up. No worries, just normal body adjustments. I had a great day yesterday & stayed on plan. I hoped to hit a few extra calories but did not manage it. I added some almonds & walnuts last night as a snack to bring it over 1000 calories. I stayed active with work and felt pretty good all day. I did feel a bit more hunger than the previous days but found myself easily full. Yesterday’s stats: 1086 Calories In / 2929 Calories Out. 22 Net Carbs. 15,178 Total Steps & 6.42 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 12 minutes. I took a 12 minute walk & I spent 204 minutes doing the cabin cleaning which also involves many steps. To all of us in the USA, have a safe & fun holiday & enjoy all your celebrations.
07/05 …..195.8 ….. Carb laden celebration for the holiday including some sweet indulgences. Best guess on Calories In 2475 / Calories Out 2378. Best guess on carbs 201 (ouch!). 10,167 Total Steps & 4.3 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 57 minutes. Back on track today. Feeling carb bloated but strong in my resolve. I hope to be drinking lots of water today.
07/06 …..195.2 ….. Holiday is over. Back on track but I did eat some leftovers because I have an internal mechanism (growing up poor) that will not allow me to waste food. I did try to be reasonable. I also need to work on the water. I love water, but have a hard time putting down my black coffee to drink the straight water (which I feel is best). Yesterday’s stats: 1850 Calories In / 2644 Calories Out. Best guess is 120 Net Carbs. 13,036 Total Steps & 5.52 Total Miles. 9/13 Fitbit Step Hours as I worked on my quarterly sales tax package. I slept 3 hours & 12 minutes and ate very late. I also had an early weigh-in this morning. I had 95 minutes of rigorous cabin cleaning, 11 minutes on the elliptical & a 14 minute walk. I am going to try to keep it very low cal & carb today. The holiday was not Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun. It was just Thursday, July 4th. I’ll try to keep that in mind today. Weight is down today & I want to keep up the downward trend & pre-holiday success.
07/07 …..194.8 ….. Another (nearly) half pound down. I think it was a lot of water weight from the holiday BBQ because I shed water like crazy yesterday evening & all night. I worked hard to have an extra low carb / low cal day yesterday with extra activity too, to help offset the celebrations. Yesterday’s stats: 923 Calories In / 2962 Calories Out. 10 Net Carbs. 17,114 Total Steps & 7.24 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 14 minutes. I did yard work for 155 Continual Minutes. I took an 11 minute walk & I danced for 35 minutes. Sample song ”Dream On” by Aerosmith.. Today is Sunday. Lots of rigorous cabin cleaning today. I will also get in plenty of steps!

@quiltingjaine I also read every single post and I'm so glad that I do take that time. I have learned so much! The normal fluctuations that occur on the scale. The way that an over-indulgence shows up a few days later & not always the next morning. The NSV's. The recommendations for reading, videos etc. The way certain foods affect your diet. And, of course, the overall support that everyone gives to eachother. I am so thankful & grateful for this challenge. Thanks to everyone for their contributions. We read them & we learn!7

I will be back for another round. It will be 1 year on mfp on 7/7 and I honestly thought I would have been at my ultimate goal weight by now. Unfortunately I am not and I still have about 7-8 pounds to go. I have lost 33 pounds though and am very happy with that. I have revised my goal weight a couple of times, but am firm at 138 (at least for right now, lol) I am doing 14 days with no alcohol to see if this is what is slowing my progress down. I am also recovering from a pretty bad infection and still on antibiotics from a stupid spider bite. So maybe I will have a really big whoosh this round! Maybe, fingers crossed!
Round 79: 148.7 - 148.7 Avg 148.38
Round 80: 148.7 - 148.0 Avg 147.22
Round 81: 148.0 - 146.5 Avg 147.87
Goal for round 82: 144 my lowest so far was 145.9 on 6/30
7/02: 145.9 back down to Sundays weight. Good day yesterday with calories and water. Still no alcohol and still no major changes in weight loss. 6 more days to go. We will see what happens. 2 more pounds and I will be "normal" BMI.
7/03: 145.9 still here. We did eat Sonic last night for dinner, but I did not eat the bun and only half my tater tots, so I stayed within my calories. I had also only eaten about 400 calories during the day because I knew we would probably grab something on the go last night. Still no alcohol and plenty of water, so on track for this week so far.
7/04: 145.9 this has been my weight 4 days out of the last 5. Still no alcohol and at a deficit. Going hiking this am with my hubby and hopefully will see a drop tomorrow.
7/05: 146.7 ate at maintenance yesterday so I guess that means a spike up today. Woke up super thirsty with really dry lips, so maybe not enough water yesterday. 11 days no alcohol and not any changes in weight. I’m about to throw in the towel on this no alcohol for 2 weeks thing. I really thought I would have seen at least a pound or maybe 2 pound loss to kick me into overdrive, but I have lost 4/10 of a pound in 2 weeks with a large deficit. I’m sticking with it today still, we will see how I feel tomorrow.
7/06: 146.4 still up a bit, but ate at maintenance again yesterday. Oh well, we went to the movies and I stayed away from the popcorn and beer. I took a small bag of peanuts that I snacked on and had water. The new Spider Man was really good though. We are having a bbq tonight and getting the UFC fights. We have 3 people from NM fighting so it’s going to be a big one for us. We will see how I do tonight!
7/07: 148.1 gave in last night and had some beers during the fights. So totally expected this to be up. I did 12 no alcohol and it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference in my weight loss rate. I’ve pretty much lost about 1/2 pound a week consistently. My trend is the lowest it’s ever been, so I’m looking at the wins. I should be back down tomorrow. Lots of water and flushing the liquor out of my system scheduled for today and back to work tomorrow.

07/02 - 134.3 (-0.3lbs) - Sore today from all the core work yesterday. Food on point. 1hr strength. 35 min cardio. 17 cups water. 12,749 steps.
07/03 - 133.7 (-0.6lbs) - Food was mostly good. I had a handful of vegan cheezits, not the healthiest but was still under calories and the rest of the day was clean. 45min strength. 103min cardio. 16 cups water. 11,441 steps.
07/04 - 134.4 (+0.7lbs) - Bloated! Food was good besides those damn vegan cheezits. 1hr 40min cardio. 149 oz water. 15,597 steps.
07/05 - 135.8 (+1.4lbs) - Water retention. Bloated. Slightly sore. Vegan cheezits again 🤦🏻♀️ I needed to fill calories quick. 30min strength. 1hr 15min cardio. 168oz water, extra because I spent 30min in the sauna, had to replenish.
07/06 - 135.3 (-0.5lbs) - super sore from yesterday’s strength training. Water retention I’m sure. 55m strength, 1hr 10min cardio. 12,583 steps. 152oz water, sauna again.
07/07 - 136.2 (+0.9lbs) - less sore but has to be water retention from the strength training. 30min restorative yoga. 1hr 20min cardio. 16,577 steps. 152oz water, sauna.

07/02: DNW Out of Town
07/03: DNW Flew back from the UK today, so long day with lots of sitting and eating. Couldn't wait to have a big salad at dinner and get some exercise in on the elliptical! Will weigh tomorrow, but expect weight will be up as usually retain water/feel bloated after long flights, not to mention being out of town and eating out for the last 6 days. Hope weight is not too far off from where I left off at end of last round (138.8). Will be going out of town with family after the 4th for the weekend so will start back at the gym consistently next Monday.
07/04: 139.4 Yep weight up from where it was at the end of last round, but only 0.7 pounds, so I'll take that as a success given all the eating out/drinking and long travel day. Rained out of going to the pool (although I rarely swim laps) so did find time to get in an elliptical workout and free weights and had a pretty good workout at home! Will see what tomorrow brings.
07/05: 138.2 Woohoo! Whoosh to get rid of fluid build up after travel! Below ending weight from last round!
Up early today so got in a cardio workout on elliptical at home, then time to pack up with family for long weekend sailing. Won't have much in the way of cardio, but will try to keep active! Only one dinner out (which will likely involve pasta) so will enjoy 'cause there is always Monday to hit the gym!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
