Thanks to those who have shared the GBS stories, very informative. Not something I would ever want to do, but glad that it's an option. I only want/need to lose about 20 lbs, to start with anyway, have to see what happens after that. Well, need to do that first..... sigh.
Beth, very happy that the diagnosis isn't Lupus, but that still does leave the question about what it is and what can be done about it. Is it itchy or inflamed or anything, I'm sure you've said, but my memory fails me...
Somebody (Rita?) said that aging is not for the weak, I would like to add that it is not for the faint-hearted either!
I'm caught up again, MFP was doing funny things when I was trying to get on at work, some sort of "parsererror" message kept showing up and I couldn't get the star to show. When I got home, I tried my tablet, got the same message, but the star was there, so I was able to get into this thread. Now on my PC, same message but again was able to click on the star. Weird, but I have given up trying to figure out computers, it just really made my head hurt and I don't have anything to sacrifice to the computer gods. Well, unless I could figure out a way to sacrifice the belly fat, although that wouldn't really be a sacrifice, that would be a celebration!! lol
Went out and bought a bike yesterday!! Also got a helmet and a small bag that hooks onto the handlebars. It doesn't get in the way of any moving parts (hubby's concern) and is just big enough for a small water bottle and the rest of my lunch! I already have a backpack, but it's a little small for my lunch and a change of clothes (most necessary when biking to work!) I also need to pack stuff to do my hair as the helmet head is not an attractive look.
Machka, I am envious of the view you get on the bus to work! and I totally understand why you wouldn't want to ride up that hill, that would be a toughy.
Katla, so happy to hear that Arrow will be okay, I always wondered what the big deal was when horses got into the fresh green grass, now I know, thank you for that.
Rebecca, oh that baby girl, she just keeps getting cuter!
Oh good grief, just looked at the time! Really need to start going to bed earlier!!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Hugs to those who need them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies! And for the newbies, please don't feel that you need to comment on every post, we are a chatty bunch and you would never get anything else done! Please be assured that no one will think less of you if you don't comment on what they have to say, just jump in when something moves you to speak, trust me, that's what we all do!

On your computer, you'll see this, and if you do, simply click Home.

    x9zodz1cpk3l.png

When you click Home, you will go to the main message board/forum index.

    jtmbmp3c070u.png

Then go to Motivation & Support and find the thread ... it should be somewhere on the first page. :)

On your phone, you'll see something like the first image. If you do, you'll see the word Community at the top, then a line of grey icons on a black background. There will be something that looks like a conversation box in a cartoon, a bell, the search magnifying glass, a star and a pencil.

    Click the conversation box.

You'll get a list that says Forum, Recent, My Discussions and Group.

Select Forum, and you'll be taken to the message board/forum index. Go to Motivation & Support and find the thread. :)

There's likely a small syntax error in MFP's code.

Thanks, Machka! I was getting that error on my phone last night, too.

Michele - Insurance companies are different as to what they require before gastric bypass, and most bariatric surgeons have differing requirements as well. Some require a psychologist to sign off that you're ready, some don't. And bluntly, some people pay lip service to what the psychologist is asking for, and skate through the process. While the time with the shrink did help me to understand why I over-ate (to cope with my emotions, to keep myself safe from my abuser, and to keep myself in my neglectful--but safe--marriage so I wouldn't have to do anything about it), the psych sessions did nothing to give me the tools to create a change within my own mind. I'm not sure those psychological tools actually exist, other than inside ourselves.

Deep thoughts at far too early in the morning to be thinking that hard...

Quiet day working at home... hubby to the airport tomorrow at about this same time. Other than that, not much in the offing.

    Love y'all,

<3 Mornin’ ladies! Will be too too uncomfortably hot to garden today, 97% muggy and rainy. Today I tackle indoor projects only.

You all continue to inspire and encourage me everyday.

Bea is here while DDIL is up in London appearing on WOMAN'S HOUR. BBC Radio 4. We listened to it. She didn't come on until the last ten minutes, but she did very well and much more relaxed than the last time she was on the programme. It was about her book, The Imposter Cure.
She will be back to pick up Bea around 1pm.
DH is doing his usual sterling job of playing with her. Brilliant work.
I'm just about to start lunch. She loves 'Pesto Pasta'. We will have a sandwich.

I'm getting tired of the Biggest Loser Power Sculpt DVD so I'm willing to sell it for the postage. This DVD has three levels, you pick the one you want to do. There's beginner (20 min), intermediate (10 min) and advanced (10 min). If you're interested, PM me. That's me, I get tired of things. And I have lots of other DVD's to use (as you all know)

For the last 3 evenings I have had an allergic reaction to something: itchy roof of mouth, lips, ears, nose & eyes.

I've no idea what it is!

There's nothing new been added in the last 3 days, and allergy meds clear it up.

I have a similar reaction when I eat pineapple, but I haven't even seen a pineapple in a long time.

Couldn't get on last night no matter what I tried, just kept timing out. I was able to this morning after going through notifications into another group and then coming here. Weird stuff.

Up to end of 57, I am finding it very difficult to keep up now that I have a busy job. I need to make a routine for myself yet.

I am also having issues with reading posts. It also times out! Or at least it says it is timed out but I just click on the star and it does access recent posts.

    Me too fanncy me too!

Aged JR with a new app never laughed so hard he’s bewildered by it lol
    4dpdvyuwm5u3.jpeg

JRs favorite book I recommend it to grandmas with baby/toddler 3yr old grandkids
    x46418n0f4xf.jpeg

Rebecca y Karen Va - What cute wonderful grand babies you have.

Karen Va -y anyone else- Happy Birthday 🎁!

Machka- Go over your food log anything similar to pineapple 🍍? Or not normally in your diet? Perhaps a restaurant I worked in one the workers bogged down or not as good about cleaning things up would drop something in a bag of flour or on a cutting board then keep working wouldn’t clean till after shift so an allergy item could easily end up in someone’s salad to hamburger!
I ate at Luby’s restaurant once put into a chocolate pie had a onion in the middle! They wouldn’t give me another! They now push to make customers happy after loosing business for awhile had to close a few! The one with the onion is closed.

JR pooped in the potty so potty training since 6months he sits a few times a day he’s doing great 👍.Pees sometimes poos .
Listened to my Aunt pre-K she lives in another state that has a different learning program so she never understands why things aren’t the same way here. Lol she’s only lived in StLouis,Ohio ,y Indiana so not like she’s had experience outside of that to see what it’s like. I try to remind her it’s hotter down here too. She gets upset if JRs not dressed warmer in the winter yet it will be 90degrees here lol while she has snow piled to the ceiling.I tutored kids who didn’t pass pre-K y Kindergarten plus raised enough kids to be able to preteach JR before Kindergarten or first thinking of holding him back 1 year if need be. When I took my Daughter finally for Kindergarten she was tested at a 3rd grade level. They offered letting her skip lol 😂.So he’ll be fine.

Playing with a FaceApp let’s me make someone older or younger so having fun redoing photo watching JRs reaction lol.

Try other ways to get into this thread (Women's 50+ thread). There are several ways to access it which I've mentioned and various ones of you have mentioned. Sometimes one way is blocked or flaky, but other ways are more stable.

Also try the delete your cookies and browsing history thing.

    Sometimes a reboot can help.

    Sometimes a different browser helps.

    Just a few ideas. :)

I eat the same stuff all the time. In fact, my food log is really easy to fill in because it's just "Copy from Yesterday".

We ate out yesterday, at a place we've eaten many times, but this happened the first time the day before.

    Don't know.

Machka- Doesn’t sounds like a good allergy.Might be a plant to soap or even a new fabric you touched while out y about. I got a rash once found out I brushed against a Bush in someone yard never noticed I did it until I did it again here came the spreading rashy arm again . Benadryl cream y pills are my friends.Aloe too!

Bought JR some more of Chris Ferrie books off eBay for babies. He’s taken to them he runs around yelling I’m a Quantum Physisis!
Physicist is too hard for a 2yr old to pronounce but close enough lol. End of the book says “You are now a Quantum Physicist!” Lol so he loves that.
Waiting on a lady I made a bid to but unsure what she wants for the last one I’m trying to get.

Good morning, Everyone! I am slowly getting absorbed into the site and getting to know people on this thread. Thanks so much for the warm welcome!
janetr7476 - Your neighbor's hibiscus is lovely. I have one that blooms every day, 3-5 new blooms, and they are huge and beautiful. However, I am battling yellow leaves which are making my braided tree look spindly. I think maybe underwatering or too much sun. I dunno.
    KarenVA - Happiest of Birthdays!
LisaInAr - I LOVE the birthday granny meme!
LuciBThinner - I'm new too, and I am getting to know the "regulars" here as well.
margaretturk - Which one do you want? Some days I'd be willing to ship off all three. LOL

Things are getting easier with the cravings and I had a really good day yesterday. Down a couple of pounds but the first week is always a water-weight bonanza so I'm not getting too giddy about that. About 2 days in I had a "heck with it" moment and almost headed to the store for binge food.....but I didn't. I feel like some of the addictive foods are loosening their hold on me and I'm not having to fight quite as hard. Getting some momentum and wins under my belt helps me continue. I've been MUCH better about more water and less diet soda.
