JoJo - I just fly by the seat of my pants on eating daily. You can tell I'm not a salad eater if you saw my page.lol
Everyone else-I'm just so happy that I have been active enough in the past that it has saved my life more than once. First when diagnosed with high blood pressure at high stroke level.(The doctor said my body had just adapted over a period of time as I didn't present with any other symptoms). Losing a son in 2006. My parents in 2016 and 2019. Breast cancer in Oct with surgery(lumpectomy) and back to normal within about 3 weeks. Surgery(nephrectomy, having right kidney and same size tumor removed) in Feb and back to all of my normal activities by April.(lifting and moving things including furniture, dance, Zumba, taking care of my youngest toddler age grandchildren daily). You get the picture folks. I have taught two 30 minute Zumba Gold demos on two separate Saturdays this summer and also took 30 minute ballet and 30 minute hip hop classes both days. Can't wait until the studio I work at starts back up later this month so I can teach and take again. Doing my fake(no machines just hand weights) Zumba in the Circuit workouts for 30 minutes and several other exercises to keep in condition. Haven't lost any weight since they told me in radiation I couldn't lose or gain any weight until I was done. Just haven't been able to find that niche I was in at that time. I'll figure it out though that's a promise to myself.
Love reading your posts!!6 -
Thank you ladies for your kind words. My daughter emailed that old picture to me yesterday, I had not seen it in years. I had such mixed feelings, I teared up immediately and thought how could I not have seen how I actually looked? In those days I only looked in the mirror to put on makeup and do my hair, ignored the rest. I had very mixed emotions about even sharing the picture. I don't ever want to come across as "look at me" or seem to be bragging, I'm not proud of it. I have decided if nothing else I will use it as incentive to keep on keeping on with my current regime as I am NEVER going back.
Thanks again my dear friends.I

Lanette: Washington has had far more liberal rules on fireworks than Oregon for as long as I can remember. I am sometimes astounded that they don’t catch the state on fire. Perhaps they’re more boom than heat. It is the boom and bangs that gets to our dog. :ohwell:
Beth & Allie: I am in agreement with your comments to Allie. Allie is not wishy-washy. She is steadfast, loyal, and generous. :flowerforyou:
Heather: I hope you’re feeling better soon. Your planned trip sounds wonderful.
Rori: I hope the surgery is scheduled soon, too. DH is in chronic pain and miserable. He has an appointment with our regular doctor on Monday. It will be a good time to ask questions and get a clearer picture of the situation. The last time he had a surgery on his back the recuperation time was not a serious problem. The pain was gone, and everything else was better than before surgery. He was scheduled for physical therapy and gradually regained good mobility and was able to do more than before. I hope this time will be as positive. In regards to your brother, perhaps AA would be of help to him, in addition to your heathy lifestyle. Perhaps he will make that decision on his own as he gets healthier. I had a surprise message from our niece. She has joined AA and is changing her life. So far, she is having a very positive experience with AA. :flowerforyou:
Terri: Thank you for your good wishes for DH. We don’t have a confirmed surgery date as of yet. That is the next goal.
Barbie: Good luck with your friends. I love Machka’s advice. :flowerforyou:
I haven’t read every post yet, but I am needed elsewhere. Have a great day!!!

Some of you may recall my sister in the Seattle area fell and broke her ankle at the end of May, then went into pneumonia, sepsis, etc and was intensive care. When they got all that cleared up she was sent back to the rehab center until her ankle healed. She was just released last Sunday from rehab and yesterday her blood pressure dropped dangerously low and she was taken to hospital and once again is in ICU. Please pray, send good thoughts and energy. Her husband had leukemia and eventually had stem cell transplant with many many complications since then and is unable to be alone. He cried when she was taken in the ambulance, he told his son that God was taking her away from him. They've been married for almost 55 years and this is so very hard on all their family.

Beth - Thank you for the messaging to Allie. I just didn't have the words this morning, and wanted to go ask her friend what her problem is... made me angry, so I didn't have comforting words. Allie - Beth has it exactly right. Hope your weekend is wonderful!
Love,

I forgave a long time ago..
These comments and all the others supporting Allie are why I love this group and have been a part for so long. Someone asked if we were ‘clicky’ no way!!!!
Allie no words, just thinking the same as what everyone else has been saying. You are one tough lady!

Lifelong learning I’m all for it. Duo lingo, for languages, YouTube, Lynda.com has Office lessons, lots of others. I’m going to build a ‘Rapberry Pi’ a Linux product but have to research and learn that. I love learning.
Janet inspired by your progress!

Michele, Here is the picture of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs that I see on my morning walk. They are not nearly as impressive as yours, but they are a cheery sight.

Janetr- you look lovely. I am sure you were the same sweet grandmother in the before picture. For your health, it is good that you lost the weight.
Karen VA - my Dh is like your friend, Clay. He will say he needs to lose 5 pounds and he does in a few days usually by skipping meals.
kJ- if you get the time, let me know and we can meet somewhere. I think I would tell Trentin’s mom that it is not acceptable to just not show up when she has scheduled your time. This isn’t the first time she has done this.
Been to water aerobics and staying inside out of the heat. Have a wonderful day.

Janetr, Even though you might not like seeing the "before" picture of yourself, it is a blessing to all of us to see it. It says that miracles are possible if someone makes a commitment and sticks to it. You did it and others can too.

Thank you so much Barbie. It is for sure an incentive to keep it off.

Katla - - Sending good wishes for your DHs doctor appointment on Monday. Pain is no fun at all.
Janetr - love and hugs to you and your family.
Well, the grandkids arrived and we started off with some art. Bea soon was very uncomfortable with a red and hurting eye. Soon she was crying and didn't want to do anything except hugs.
When my son came back with the Calpol he had forgotten for Max I told him and he took her home. She is now asleep early at home.
We are all watching 'Patchwork Pals' on Utube. Very funny.
You can see Max's splint.
Much love to you all XXXXXX Heather UK XXXXXX6 -
Heather - hope your spell was a one-off, and you're feeling better! Love seeing the kids up next to their granddad, those relationships are so key in their own future relationships.
JanetR - I see a much happier, much healthier woman in the after pictures, for sure. You always look so sunny in your "now" pictures, and deserve every joy you've given yourself. Many good thoughts for your sister winging their way to her, and to you.
Waited too long and ended up grocery shopping with the husband, after going shopping for workboots for him. Shot our budget right in the heart. Ah well... there are worse things. We found a terrific pair of Wolverine workboots at 50% off, and I think they'll do well for him. You have to keep yourself healthy in order to keep working...
Trying out Aspercreme with Lidocaine on the knees and hands. We'll see if it works...
Oh - and come to find out that my dentist visit had to be cancelled because, once you've had a joint replaced, you're supposed to be on prophylactic antibiotics ordered by your surgeon. No one mentioned this... until I got there. So, after all the fuss last week, I'll be on a course of antibiotics this week and try again with the dentist next Friday. *sigh* Life is weird, and irony is not my friend.
Love y'all,

Barbie: We aren’t that far apart in miles, but we are in degrees latitude. Our day length is also getting shorter, but a bit more slowly than yours :flowerforyou:
Janetr: Keeping your sister in my prayers.
Heather: Thanks for your good wishes for DH. You are right about pain.
DH is having a tough day with pain. I hope the doctor appointment Monday will ease some of the challenges. Meanwhile, we’ll get by the best we can.

Just made a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. All store bought mix, and frosting, but I did beat the heck out of both so the cake felt very light, and the frosting mousse' like! Its my eldest son's 30th Birthday! He is presently at a car show, then afternoon he has to report in because its his duty weekend. On duty days he has to go in fairly early and either prep a helicopter for the day, or like today after flight prep work. Its usually just him and 1 other person. A big responsibility I think, but he just think its work. Last night he was prepping his scooter for the car show. His life is either building something or taking something apart! Later on, when he's off duty I am making ramen, potstickers, and lumpia with sticky rice. A feast!
Husband just attacked the beaters and frosting bowl. Better him than me!
Thinking a lot about my youngest Navy son. Ship is out to sea, in typhoon weather. I hope he's managing ok, not too sea sick, or overworked.🙏💖. Haven't heard that kids voice since mid April.
Having great lunches of Lean Cuisine Farmers Market pizza. I have added shredded fresh spinach, a bit more mozzarella cheese and a drizzle of Annie's shiitake mushroom dressing. So good!
This week's shopping wasn't quite as economical as the week before. Bought lumpia, potstickers, and a bunch more convenient foods which aren't low cost. So spent about $130. Currently I take out $200 of pay towards any car repairs so we have won't be surprised. Also take out $160 every month for our quarterly health insurance premium payments. Don't wish to be surprised with that bill either. And yes I still balance my checkbook to the penny. I have to because every once in awhile my dear husband decides to do creative math. Haahaa!
Today is a rainy, cloudy day! Already looking forward to fall weather. Summer never did come to our island!

Just as we were putting them to bed Max decided to take his support splint off to give it some air. Then he couldn't get it back on properly. We were all trying and he was crying with pain. Eventually we got it comfortable.
Took them a while to settle, but all is quiet now. I've gone a bit over my usual calories, but still within maintenance. I'm amazed!
We may have Bea for a bit tomorrow if her eye is better. The parents were planning a bike ride and would still like to do it. They will assess her in the morning. They seem to think the wind blew something into it.
Hope I sleep tonight. I've usually got one ear open for small feet, but it's easier with just the two older ones. Could be an early start.
Much love , Heather UK xxxxxxx7 -

Lisa since my knee replacements my dentist has always given me the script for antibiotics. If I forget to take them before I go they just give me four big horse pills of antibiotics before they start work.
Thanks for thoughts of my sis and family.
The kind words regarding pics are much appreciated.

Rebecca - That’s my very favorite cake. Yellow box cake and chocolate frosting from the can. Weird, I know.

Busy, busy day!! Celebration of life this morning for a dear choir member who passed 3 weeks ago at age 91. My daughter and I both sang in choir this morning. My daughter pulled double duty and also served as crucifer.
Then we went to lunch and my weekend of driving for everybody began. I took my mom to visit her former co-workers and then her sister. I needed to take laundry to my aunt anyway. Took mom home then my nephew and I went to Kroger. Resting before I cook dinner. Two church youth functions tomorrow.
Two months ago we were begging for the rain to stop. Now we are praying for any drop we can get. It’s supposed to be 90+ for the next two weeks in Louisville. It’s the annual state fair heat wave!!
Have a great weekend everybody!

Okie in the TX Hill Country, we asked him what kind, and its is what he said.👍. It really pumps up the volume of the frosting when you use a beater! I added maybe a 1/4 cup milk too. If I had some Bailey's I would've used that!💖

I thought DH was going to see our primary care doctor on Monday. I was mistaken. He is expecting a call from the surgeon's office then. I hope the call comes as planned and we get some real details. DH is tired of pain and wants a date scheduled so we can plan and look forward to it.

Rebecca - I need to learn some of your budgeting skills. I feel summer missed us this year too. It’s been rather poor, hopefully we have a nice long Fall to make up for it.
Katla - I truly hope he gets some results, medical issues are so slow to get fixed and it really affects quality of life so negatively.
Went to help my friend this afternoon, going back tomorrow to help some more I think.
