8/21: 225.6 (-0.6)/19.1 (-0.1). There was a lunch celebration/going away party at work yesterday. I was very mindful about what I ate, and particularly how much. I also skipped dessert completely. Dinner was not the healthiest thing I've ever had, but I chose carefully in order to stay within calories. Today was a victory in that this was a situation in the past in which I may have very easily been derailed. I'm going to try again tonight to hit the gym. I need to check in with my wife before she leaves work to confirm that she is going to make it home on time; otherwise I'll go by myself.
8/22: 225.8 (+0.2)/19.1 (0.0). Food quantity has been pretty good, but I could do better on food quality. And exercise has GOT to make its way back into my life at some point as well. I think basketball is not coming back for another two weeks (first day will likely be 9/7/2019).
8/23: 227.0 (+1.2)/19.3 (+0.2). Okay, yesterday was pretty bad. There was an all-day meeting at the office, celebratory drinks after said meeting, and my mother's 79th birthday yesterday (Mexican dinner out, cake after). I did my best to make healthy choices, but I'm pretty sure I was significantly over in calories. I'm going to make today a good day, and I'm going to focus on having a HEALTHY CHOICE weekend (planning what I'm going to eat in advance, ESPECIALLY if/when I'm going to be eating out). It's looking more and more like I will not be seeing the basketball court tomorrow. I'm going to commit to hitting the gym at least once this weekend (today, Saturday, or Sunday).

8/26: 229.0 (+2.0)/19.5 (+0.3). I had an emotional, sucky weekend, and it took a bit of energy to login today to get back on track and remain accountable. Well, here I am. I'm adjusting my goal, and I'll be ecstatic if I'm able to get back to my starting weight for the round (though any progress in the downward direction would be nice at this point).
8/27: 228.6 (-0.4)/19.4 (-0.1). At this point I'm just focusing on posting here every day to be accountable. Most days (other than the weekend) I'm doing relatively well with food, but exercise has been difficult to come by. It kind of feels like I'm half-@$$ing it, but if I'm being kind to myself I would recognize that I have a lot going on right now, and my motivation is obviously affected. I'll choose "being kind to myself" for now.
8/28: 227.8 (-0.8)/19.3 (-0.1). I mostly did okay yesterday. I had a little more than I wanted to for dinner, but not too much. I'm happy to have what feels like a little bit of progress the past couple of days.

08/21: 311.9 lbs (+0.4) … small uptick. Carby dinner last night (pizza) was probably a major factor in this. Not concerned about it at all.

08/25: 308.5 lbs (-2.3) … wow. Eating closer to my budget but walked around all day on Saturday, took kiddo to the zoo.
08/26: 307.8 lbs (-0.7) … !!! I was almost certain the scale was going to show an uptick this morning. I ate a fairly large sized dinner pretty late. Repeated Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 3 this morning and it went really well. No pain and the intervals were much easier than my last run. I think I’m ready to move on. Great way to start off the week!
08/27: 309.2 lbs (+1.4) … water weight fluctuations. No other explanation, really… as yesterday was pretty ideal for me. Just under 1800 calories in, burned a good deal of them between a morning run and 10,000 steps throughout the day. It’ll pass… and this weight is still under my goal for this round.
08/28: 307.2 lbs (-2.0) … new low weight. Between that and a very positive doctor appointment this morning, I’m pretty happy. Took a really nice (and really tiring) 12 mile bike ride last night, but today will be a rest day.

08/21: 137.4 lbs - haven't worked out in a few days (self imposed hiatus to heal my shoulder/elbow) and had a salty late night snack last night, not a good choice. Tonight will be better - my late night snacking buddy will be out of town .
08/22: 136.0 lbs - hmmm, barely ate yesterday so this will probably go back up but pretty cool to see this number. I did work out just a little last night but am back to taking time off for a couple more days. Hoping my neck/shoulder/elbow is all better before my tournament this Sunday. No LNS yesterday.
08/23: 135.6 lbs - maybe a week of not working out is just what my body needed. Planning to work out tomorrow and then I’ve got a big tournament Sunday, will see how the scale responds.
08/24: 135.6 lbs - two days in a row at this number. Nice. Worked out just a couple hours in the sun, took it easy. Have a dinner out with friends tonight, will try to stay on track.
08/25: DNW, up and out too early. Had a pickleball tournament about an hour away, we came in second. Again. Almost as frustrating as trying to lose weight .
08/26: 137.2 lbs - not surprised, the last few days caught up with me and I was craving salt yesterday. Besides, this is the weight my body likes to be at, spent the last 2 months moving back and forth from this number. Just going to keep moving forward with good choices, they will pay off eventually. Maybe I need to do a fast day or something?
08/27: 137.2 lbs - my body's happy weight. Doesn't help that I just can't seem to buckle down and make the necessary changes needed to get to the next level of weight loss. Seems something always comes up. Dinner party over the weekend, fundraiser last night, vacation, etc.

I'm back and hoping to get rid of the almost 10 pounds I "gained" in the last round. I know it isn't a real gain, but it's still very annoying. I was dealing with hormones and the a death in the family last round, so it just wasn't a great round for me. I have been doing this long enough to know that freaking out isn't going to do anything and I just need to get back on the horse and take care of business. I just found out we will be leaving on the last day of this round and going to Texas for my father-in-laws funeral services. So I have 10 days to get back down, so that I can take a 4 day weekend and hopefully do better than last weekend.

08/21 - 145.1 and just like that, there goes 3 pounds of sodium/stress weight overnight. Crazy what a little bit of water and eating at home does for you. Today is all set and I should be down more tomorrow. Things are finally calming down at home and after a long drive by the lake last night to clear our heads, my husband and I slept like babies. Amazing how you feel so different after a great nights sleep.
08/22 - 144.1 was within calories and probably would have been lower, but I chose to use soy sauce on my rice last night for dinner. So my sodium was way higher for the day than it should have been. As long as I can get back down to 142/141 something by the end of this round and stay there for a couple of days I will be happy.
08/23 - 142.1 And I am back here. I think this is a realistic weight for me right now. I have been at 142.xxx for 10 out of 23 days this month. I have been lower and higher, but it always comes back to here. Hopefully I can consistently see 141 before leaving next Friday, but you never know what's going to happen. Was very low cal all day yesterday and should be today as well.
08/24 - 142.1 Was on point again yesterday. Cleaning, laundry, errands, and grocery shopping is on the to do list today. So hopefully I don’t fall off the wagon this weekend.
08/25 - 143.1 up a bit and no real reason that I should be. Had a couple of beers watching the Cowboys game last night so maybe it’s because of that. Going to lunch with family and having a fantasy football draft party tonight. So I’m expected to be up tomorrow a bit, but hopefully not to bad.
08/26 - 146.9 My normal Monday blip up. Had breakfast out yesterday morning and took a rest day. I am really sore for some reason today, maybe from all the activity I did on Saturday and I had a pretty restless nights sleep last night. Was hoping to be lower, but with everything going on right now, I am just happy that I am able to maintain at this point. I ate a few 100 calories over yesterday, but this is all sodium and water retention from not eating my normal foods. I should be back down by Tuesday and hopefully finish the month at 141. If I can do that it will at least give me a 2lb loss for the month.
08/27 - 144.1 It's amazing how much restaurant food and a Bloody Mary affect me. I was totally within calories, but the sodium that they must cook with kills me every time. We always go out and eat on Sunday's with a lot of our family just to catch up and stuff and I gain at least 3-4 pounds every time. I go home and drink tons of water afterwards, but it always shows on the scale the next morning. I'm so used to it by now that it doesn't even bother me. By tomorrow I will be back down to my normal 142.xxx and maybe see that elusive 141.xx before we leave on Friday for my FIL funeral in Texas.

08/25 …..196.4 ….. S..L..O..W.. Progress. But progress is progress right? A great day yesterday. Diet on point & exercise/extra movement outside of norm was great. Yesterday’s stats: 1124 Calories In / 2891 Calories Out. 27 Net Carbs. 17,185 Total Steps & 7.27 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 4 hours & 20 minutes which was disappointing. I took my moderately paced evening walk for 54 minutes, did 40 minutes of light cabin cleaning, 25 minutes of yard work / painting and I did 16 minutes of low-impact aerobics. Total extra calorie burn was 633. Sundays are always busy for me so I should have no problem getting my steps in. Exercise will be another story but I’ll fit in what I can. Travel tomorrow so I’m gearing up to be mindful.
08/26 …..193.0 ….. Travel Day. I’m hoping upon Hope that this lower weight today will help keep me on track & making good choices during travel. Today’s goal: NO bingeing or thinking its okay to gorge when I get home, just because I’ve splurged a little while restaurant dining for lunch! Yesterdays stats were very good & reflected on the scale: 1206 Calories In / 2756 Calories Out. 25 Net Carbs. 15,162 Total Steps & 6.42 Total Miles. 11/13 Fitbit Step Hours (a more relaxing day concerning exercise) & I slept 6 hours & 31 Glorious minutes but was up a lot peeing out that weight drop. I walked moderate pace for 45 minutes & I did 118 minutes of rigorous tourist cabin cleaning. Total extra burn was 808. Lots of sitting today while traveling expected so getting my steps in may be difficult. If I’m up to it, I may dance later.
08/27 …..197.8 ….. After travel weigh=in. A cheat lunch that was not too bad during travel turned into an entire cheat day including dinner later & horrid snacks all night. As always, its honest: 3040 Calories In including about ½ gallon of milk / 2474 Calories Out. 320 Total Carbs. 12,108 Total Steps which were hard to achieve with so much sitting during travel. 5.12 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit step hours. I slept 4 hours & 57 minutes. I walked a moderate pace for 53 minutes when I returned home (before binge) and I did light housekeeping for 96 minutes. Total extra calorie burn was 686. Much of this is likely water, I mean....nearly 5 pounds overnight???? But I was a bad girl for sure so.....I’ll flush today & try to get in lots of activity & hope this dissolves quickly. Feeling disgusted today. Way overboard!
08/28 …..195.6 ….. Okay, so I’ve lost part of Monday’s travel & binge weight. But more to go. If I want to lose the 2 pounds that are goal I need to weigh 193.4 and that may not happen. However, I will be flushing & trying hard today to make some sort of difference. Yesterday’s stats: 1280 Calories In / 3047 Calories Out. 46 Net Carbs . 19,224 Total Steps & 8.13 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 6 hours & 4 minutes which was wonderful! I rigorously cleaned the tourist cabins for 162 minutes & I took a nice moderately paced walk for 70 minutes. Total extra calorie burn was 1159 which helped me reach over 3000 for the day. Happy hump day everyone!

vacation. We all have choices, we are in America, there has to be a way to eat well- we just need to
want to. Doing very well eating today. I find that taking ilium powder really helps cut my appetite. Not
sure how but it does. I add it to my protein drink. I could add it to coffe but I dont think of it. Up and
at it today. Errands, weed eating, raking. I wish the exercise chart had a little something to account
for that.
08/26 242 BARELY 242. Day of Dr appts for my back and then lost my mind and had two McD cheeseburgers. I still stayed at my caloric intake of 1200 but my calories would have been better spent.

Alright, this is nice, but i might have undone the small progress today as I had a very sugar fuelled day, working from home. Went for a relaxing run in the evening, before DH came back and we shared a pizza. 200 over cals, which isn't the problem, but I ate over 1000 cals in snacks, oops

REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I'm going back home on Thursday after 5 weeks vacation so I'm going to start losing again. I want to lose another 9kg {20lbs} this year which will put me at the low end of my goal and give me wriggle room!

08/22 63.8 kg. Normal bmi!!! Really wasn't expecting another loss. Travel day today so 7/8 hours in a car over a few rough roads. I've packed my lunch so no snacks for me!

Into the next lb decade, lowest adult weight not caused by ill health, 25.2kg {55.5lbs} lost this year, my biggest weekly loss since week 1 {6.4lbs}. Now to keep it off! 😁

08/27 63.7kg...I used to always do this so I'm not too worried. Plus I bought UK size 10 trousers yesterday for work! Down from an 18.

08/29 63.7kg went to the gym! 1st time in 20 years. It was tough but I'll go back next week twice a week, running 3x and yoga/stretching on sat with Sunday resting.

08/21: 311.9 lbs (+0.4) … small uptick. Carby dinner last night (pizza) was probably a major factor in this. Not concerned about it at all.

08/23: 311.9 lbs (-0.1) … been holding steady for a few days now.
08/24: 310.8 lbs (-1.1) … nice. Very close to my previous low.
08/25: 308.5 lbs (-2.3) … wow. Eating closer to my budget but walked around all day on Saturday, took kiddo to the zoo.
08/26: 307.8 lbs (-0.7) … !!! I was almost certain the scale was going to show an uptick this morning. I ate a fairly large sized dinner pretty late. Repeated Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 3 this morning and it went really well. No pain and the intervals were much easier than my last run. I think I’m ready to move on. Great way to start off the week!
08/27: 309.2 lbs (+1.4) … water weight fluctuations. No other explanation, really… as yesterday was pretty ideal for me. Just under 1800 calories in, burned a good deal of them between a morning run and 10,000 steps throughout the day. It’ll pass… and this weight is still under my goal for this round.
08/28: 307.2 lbs (-2.0) … new low weight. Between that and a very positive doctor appointment this morning, I’m pretty happy. Took a really nice (and really tiring) 12 mile bike ride last night, but today will be a rest day.

Back from holiday - 3 weeks with our touring caravan from the UK through France, Germany, Austria and Slovenia for 2 amazing weeks in Croatia with a few days also in Venice. Lots of good food (including cheese and gelato!) and wine obviously. Not getting the "but it's nice to be home" vibe though
But back to it - aim to get holiday gain off over the next couple of rounds!!
08/21 - 140.1lb (+6.3lb) Ouch although did weigh only a few hours after getting home in the early hours!
08/22 - 137.0lb (-3.1lb) Guess this is the initial whoosh from our road trip and a long couple of days in the car - leaves me with 3.2lb of holiday gain left to work on. Not too upset with this as a gain from a 3 week holiday though - feeling positive! Aiming to keep drinking plenty and get back to eating normally.
Exam results day here for my 16 year old, college sign-up day and cheer try outs for a new team along with catching up with washing and ironing so going to be a testing day!
08/23 - 138.0lb (+1.0lb) Daughter got the results she needed so all signed up for college to study Fine Art, Sports Science and Psychology #proudmum Ended up eating out last night and late as straight from college sign up to cheer tryouts which all seemed to go well - just the wait to hear on a team placement today hopefully.... so understand why and don't mind the 1lb gain. Long Bank holiday weekend here ahead to catch up with friends and family so just aiming to stay a bit focused as far as possible. Guess some sort of normality will return next Tuesday as I'm back to work and the following week youngest starts at secondary school and then college starts too .... Back to land of crazy

08/27 - 140.2lb (+1.6lb) Had a lovely long and hot bank holiday weekend here in the UK. Involved 2 BBQ's, a lunch and a family dinner at which the Gin &Tonic and wine was flowing nicely. Such a lovely weekend catching up with everyone and I know today's weigh in is a lot of water weight but I expected it and don't mind and actually wanted to get on the scales this morning to "reset".
Do I feel any better for the weekend excesses ? No - do I regret it, no - but so ready to get back to "normal" eating after nearly a month of holiday and socialising! Back to work today and some part of normality, healthy food with me for the day along with my water bottle!
Target for the rest of this round is to get back to some sort of "normal" eating, re-hydrate myself and then to get off the holiday gain over the next round or two.
08/28 - 139.6lb (-.60lb) Scales don't actually reflect how much better I feel already. Back to the gym last night (which was tough as been a month!!!) ate well yesterday and drank plenty too and feel less bloated already despite TOM's arrival. Also have agreed to do a full 26.2mile marathon with a work colleague at the end of September (walking not running) so have a month to get walking the streets and get some miles in ready
08/29 - 137.3lb (-2.3lb) Guess that's the whoosh to the wine and the BBQ Bloat. As usual 2-3 days to get rid of it. Now to get on with losing the holiday gain - good food day planned for today and gym session tonight so hoping for a reasonable finish to the round

Thanks - I completed the C25K earlier this year and loved it. I found I had to repeat a few weeks and now I use the Nike Run Club app which I also love. The gym is just down the road and includes a personal trainer so I'll be there at 5am!! I might switch the running and the gym over and do gym 3 times a week....not sure and grateful for any advice from experienced exercisers.2
