LOL... yeah I went to Florida a couple times for work and I turned the heat on in my hotel room. In July. In Florida. lol
In spite of everyone saying how hot it is there, it was 20 degrees cooler than it was in Texas. so I was pretty cold.

I am absolutely freezing this morning. I mean this is real trouble for the winter if I'm this cold in summer still.4 -

Bizarrely I noticed that I became more invisible to men in my late 40's (when both fat and slimmer) but now I'm in my 60s I have noticed the odd twinkle again, mostly from silver foxes - I think maybe it's that some chaps who are widowed or divorced kinda get the feeling that they want someone for company and to do fun stuff with in retirement. I love being active in my 60s and fortunately have a fab husband of 40+ years - I hope that those older guys (and gals) all find someone (could be good friends if they don't want/need a partner) to enjoy their retirement with too.
Agreed about late 40’s.
I believe it happens a few years after menopause as hormones level out.
Partly though, I believe it is also the ‘vibe’ women give off then.
If you are losing a bunch of weight and getting fit you are also rediscovering life is more fun.
Your focus in life changes and some things become clearer.
It’s more about real value and contentment vs fleeting happiness which only time and struggle can teach you.

Winter is hard.. but at least you have the excuse to layer up. One good go to product is thermal underwear/leggings. You can wear them under jeans.3 -

Very true, I do think layering clothes is super cute, especially with a nice jacket. I just realized I need a new winter coat this year unless I want to look like a kid wearing her mother's clothes.4 -
Didn’t even realize how much I love being outside! Even in my own front yard, I’ve been too embarrassed to be seen.15

Since I've lost a noticeable amount of weight I find myself wondering about other people much more often. Hmmmm she appears to be at a healthy weight. I wonder if she counts calories or does she naturally eat at maintenance? Has she always been at a healthy weight? Hmmmmm he is at an unhealthy weight. I wonder if he cares (wondering because my hubby really truly 100% does not care about his weight). I don't like that I do this. I definitely don't judge ..... I guess I'm just curious because getting healthier is constantly on my mind.16

So this one is definitely TMI.
But being around 35lbs in (and a lot to go), it's my time of the month. So I needed to wear my underwear in bed. But they were uncomfortable. They've gotten to a looseness where they're fine normally, but in bed, they're not clinging to me enough. It's unpleasant!11 -

Completely relatable.3 -
This has been said many times, but that it is never-ending! I've been stressed lately and have found myself resorting to some old, really bad eating habits that I hadn't resorted to in years and it's been really disappointing. I've put on about 7 lbs so far which isn't bad but I'm right on the line between overweight/obese and had hoped never to cross that line again.
So just a reminder that this is a loooong journey and to stay positive and keep making those lifestyle changes so that you don't bounce back to old habits (or at least not for long).20 -

Holy cow I am not the only one then. It's insane the difference. My wife and I both want it more often. My wife has lost 30 pounds or so and I am 73 down. Not only do we do it more but it's insanely better quality. That should be enough motivation for anyone.
I'm 20 pounds down and I have noticed an increase. I still have 180 pounds to get to the top of what is considered a healthy weight range for me. What is it going to be like then? Is mine naturally higher and I've been smothering it with fat? It was noticeably higher 38 pounds down too before I went back up another 60 pounds.4 -

I live in Northern New England, and what I recommend if you can find some are silk thermal underwear.

Oh girl, unless you're under 25 (and often before then) usually the twins need some support and often shaping to really look their best. That's good news, actually. It's way easier to add shaping and padding to the bust than it is to reduce and a good bra is much safer than plastic surgery.9 -
How very THANKFUL and GRATEFUL you will become in the most smallest things to big things.
When I was obese and overweight...I was constantly murmuring and complaining about just about everything--ALL THE TIME. I used to be so busy (GIVING MYSELF OVER TO) with negative and self-pity(ish) thoughts about myself and every person, place and thing around me, I couldn't wouldn't see "the forest for the trees" so to speak. It was almost "crippling" how I REFUSED to dare to be thankful for things that in my mind weren't "thank worthy". Example: My being obese and overweight--once I humbled myself and started taking responsibility/OWNING a lot of my yuck and woes in my life and then being THANKFUL for them (because like my earthly daddy used to tell me when I was a child "what don't kill you WILL make you stronger" (he used to say all kinds of "crazy old coot" saying like that, that I didn't understand then, but super understand now)...once I started seeing my issues, woes and troubles as a "launching pad" so to speak, to begin to LEARN life lessons I was purposely (or maybe even unconsciously) IGNORING/DOWN-PLAYING/IN DENIAL about--BAM! I finally understood that I have CHOICES and a lot of reasons I was in such a yuck time and place, had a lot to do with the choices I made/make.
Once I threw gauntlet down with FEAR, DOUBT and NOT COUNTING IT ALL JOY/BEING and started being thankful and grateful for everything in my life, (not merely the so-called "good things"), but the yuck things to, ever telling myself because of them (the woe and yuck) I learned/am learning hard life lessons about myself, how I think and live and how to CHANGE, beginning with the way I THINK and considering troubles/woe/ugh/yuck to be people. places and things in my thoughts and life to no longer be ignored/downplayed/denied, but MUST be CONQUERED/VANQUISHED/DEALT WITH SEVERELY/HANDLED LIKE A "BOSS" and doing/living/thinking this way helped me make better/different choices in my daily life and watch the weight/mental issues, etc. and more if not totally defeated at the very least handled/controlled/RECOGNIZED and worked on. MAKE IT YOUR BUSINESS TO BE GRATEFUL AND THANKFUL FOR ALL THINGS, THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY...and watch what will begin and be happening in/thru/to YOU and those around YOU. Honey, hardly anybody will tell you this about "losing" weight AND changing your lifestyle of thinking and living!
ETA: I want to give God (The Only True and Living God, The God of the bible, The God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jesus) ALL of the glory, honor, THANKS and praise for this way of thinking and living--He taught me thru His Word (alone, with no man teaching me this--just His Holy Spirit and The Bible ALONE). He is The One that gave/gives me His/The Fearlessness, His/The Power, His/The Love of this/His Way, His Truth and His Life...This/His Awesome (literally) New AND Living Way to think, live and be. MANY (if not most) will be able to do this apart from God...but not lil ole me. He is my Motivation/Inspiration, Comforter, Teacher, Strength, Guide, Parent (Father), Boss/Master. Just FYI!9 -
The position of my "waist" (the narrowest part of my torso) has shifted down. Used to be right under my breasts, but is now at more of a "natural" position. My waist belts have therefore shifted down, and do look much more flattering in their new position.27

Great job on the 20, a and you can get there the other pounds off.
All I know is for us it's just really incredible. We went from a bad 1 day a week session to an absolutely incredible 3-4 times a week. I can't tell you how much better quality it is. It's hard to put into words. All I know is I should have done this year's ago. What was I waiting for if this is the prize along with good health of course. 🤣1 -

My natural waist is very high. It can either be an advantage or an annoyance, depending on the cut of the garment! I can't say I've noticed it shifting dramatically as I lost weight, though.3 -

As a fellow short person, I can see the advantages, haha. Usually my skirts hit just right because I wear the skirt so high on my torso. Otherwise, they'd be too long.1
