Successes: Am now on week 3 of the C25K running program (increasing exercise and fitness). The kombucha is going well, and I've managed to get my partner to drink it too (!). I've been experimenting cooking with choko/chayote, such as mixed with fruit as a healthy low-carb dessert (choko is a vegetable that takes on the flavours around it, so can taste like fruit while not having as high a carb or calorie count). Down 1.5kg (3.3lbs) this week - a relief after so many weeks of small loses.

Challenges: This has been a good week, so am not feeling too challenged at the moment (in a good way!). Some of my healthy cooking experiments haven't worked out exactly how I would have liked, but I figure it will take time to learn how to work with new ingredients and find recipes I like that fit with my way of eating. Trial and error.

Small loss. I will take it. Minor surgical procedure on ankle this week, so no running or swimming for a couple of weeks. Will need to stick with walking and biking. Must pay extra close attention to calorie intake.

I hope the surgery went well and you are having a good recovery. I have heard that some of the stuff they give you in hospital can lead to temporary water weight gain, so please don't stress if there is a blip. Take care of yourself

Hey guys. I've not posted on here in a while because I plateaued for a few months and figured there was no way I'd get even close to 52 pounds loss. I didn't give up though and finally got past the plateau and have lost almost 20 pounds since the last time I posted on here. Admittedly I forgot about this thread but finally remembered and well, here I am now lol.

Great progress. Your numbers are similar to mine a couple of years ago when I started this challenge. I've never made it to my goal of 120.

I've been unable to track due to phone battery issues. It's also difficult to accurately track my husband's meal creations. The emphasis is more veggies & veggies at every meal.
I'm still working out 5-6 days a week and exercising daily. I've included some Intermittent Fasting that fits into my schedule and increasing veggies and healthy fats, which are much more satisfying and nutrient dense.

    Overall start Dec 2017: 175#
    2019 start: 150#
    9/16/2019: 144.6#
    Challenges: busy & tired
Successes: keeping on & improving fitness level and nutrition

I was talking to a friend about the number I put on as my goal weight. I think I want to be closer to a goal size of 4-6, but have no idea what that translates too. Right now, I’m at a 8-10 so still actively trying but 120 may be to much or too little depending on how the weight comes off.

I started wearing a 14/16 at my highest weight. At my current weight of 130-135 I comfortably wear a size 4 on the bottom and Small/medium top. At 60 (almost 61) I'm very happy with this weight range. I would switch over to maintenance, but every few weeks we take a trip and I put a few pounds back on. Now I have a fear of gaining it all back of I'm not always in a losing state of mind.

  • I want to double this loss. It will be 100 pound loss in 50 weeks. That means that I will reach my ultimate goal in less than a yr. This gives me til September 5th, 2020 to complete this goal from 256 down to 156. Who thinks they can join me in accomplishing this?

I managed to stay Keto clean most of the week. A going away to college party for my granddaughter and my 49th wedding anniversary celebration got in the way a little bit. Thus a few departures from ketosis did me in as far as weight loss for the week. However, I did lose 1.2 pounds this week, putting me at 8.4 pounds for the month.

I’m still behind the power curve to lose 27 pounds in the last 27 weeks of 2019. By my count there are only 14 weeks left this year. I’ve got 19 more to lose in those 14 weeks. A sensible approach would be to lose 1.4 pounds per week. But nobody has ever accused me of being me sensible. I’m going to try to get as close to 14 pounds left to go as I can this last week of September.

In October I will get back on track to lose 12 pounds the last 12 weeks of this year!

Successes: Am now on week 4 of the C25K running program (increasing exercise and fitness) and have started doing yoga a couple times a week. Down 1.3kg (2.9lbs) this week.

Challenges: This past week has been great, but the week coming up has several challenges: it's my birthday this week, so will be eating out for dinner and having birthday cake; and my daughter is graduating out of a program and I believe there will be food at the celebration that students will have cooked that there will be pressure for parents to eat.

I'll do my best to navigate these challenges to minimise damage. The restaurant for my birthday serves food that roughly fits my diet, the birthday cake will be single serve keto cheesecakes, and I'll do my best to not eat or only eat healthiest options at my daughter's celebration.

I'm also shifting my intermittent fasting schedule around because these events fall on the days that I would normally fast.

Your goal is similar to mine (I started at 263.5lbs; goal is to get to about 145lbs), however, I started my journey in February this year, have already lost 89.3 lbs, and am on track to lose the rest by the 52 week mark (possibly even by year's end - depends on whether the pace of weightloss stays steady or slows down).

I just wanted to let you know it's possible, and wish you luck with your journey.

@Luciicul I love your posts for many reasons.

First, you are real life inspiration approaching a 100-pound weight loss most likely next month at your current pace. Well done! Congrats and thanks for showing us all it can be done.

Second, your posts are full of hints and positive encouragement about how you are approaching weight loss. I relate to and have benefited from your advice on more than one occasion. And I bet I’m not alone on that.

Third, you hide your yearly progress sheet under that spoiler line. I really love to look at your whole yearly progress. You have an amazing record! I appreciate the fact that I can view it when I want to but it doesn’t take up a whole page. I’m going to try to figure out how to do that. It makes good sense, especially on this 52-week challenge page.

Thanks for being you! I look forward to your posts each week.
