Played hooky from church, got immersed in reading about grants (thanks Lisa!) for the FPD and lost track of time. Joe wanted to go to town so I puppysat, not a bad thing. Laundry, Samaritan's purse box, AF and even a walk with Joe and the dogs so a good day all in all.
Monday will puppysit while Joe goes to eye Dr. (and vacuum while he's out yuck), take Shadow to the vet to remove staples, make some time for Tumble, stop at Freddie's on the way back from the movies (Ford vs Ferrari) and abstain from alcohol.
Karen in VA “being heard is so healing” you are so right, and these gals are the very best listening healers.
Machka when you fall asleep mid-Midsomer, you know something's off. Hope the rx clears out quickly.
Welcome Kenna!
Heather, I have a YouTube account, so uploaded the video to it and published it as “unlisted” instead of public. As to the voice, ah yes, rather a beery Shirley Temple, no?
KJ cannot imagine living in your climate with so few clothes. :noway:
Tracey I only tell you about the calm responses when I remember to give them. You don't hear about the shrieks.
Janetr (((hugs))) and prayers for your nieces, Jack and you.
Michele, sorry don't know how you could post videos without Youtube. Maybe a FaceBook link, but then wouldn't people have to log into Facebook to view?
Marianne in WV sounds like a lovely day.
Debby in VA lovely pics, but you can keep the snow, ok?
Pip where did you get Yogi's raingear? We NEED that for Tumble, and Shadow when she's fully grown.
Changeisnoww losing 1 lb/wk is exactly what my MD prescribed. IMHO I'd stop eating before I became uncomfortably full, even if it's veggies
Machka that password checking site, hmm. How did he capture the passwords in order to build the database? Kicking myself for checking my FB etc password, glad I didn't check the ones I use for financials. Thanks for the tip about searching board activity when receiving mfp friend requests. “...Friday face” snorting, laughing, choking on my water. Thanks!
Kim didn't see much custom embroidery at our Community Christmas Bazaar, except for one vendor who had simply decorated dishtowels for $7 apiece. A blue whale, a green Christmas Tree with red ornaments, a lavender and blue seahorse. She sold out. Jewelry, art and quilted goods vendors didn't do as well as the baked goods and sweets folks. There was a line for Kettle corn
Rori "one big caveat" brave humor! Anger, tears and laughter, what a stew. (((((hugs)))))
Julie skim when you can, we understand about work and life.
Gratitudes Nov 15 smell of clean, bleached whites while transferring from washer to dryer. Nov 16 tech: my Win 7 laptop. Dread migrating to something newer/supported. Nov 17 color blue skies after a gray rainy foggy couple of days.
Internet shopping, I always use a credit card because of its fraud protections. Stopped using PayPal when I realized I linked it to my checking account to periodically add funds to it. Felt it could be a gateway to disaster. Never use a debit card, no protections and baddies can wipe you out completely.
Lighter, lovelies!

that was Bullwinkle's. I tried it on yogi 2c if it fit and it did. it has a detachable head piece. FIDO WIND & RAIN GEAR - by Fido Fleece | Dog Rain Coats

I like to exercise at least 1 hour a day so I've got a lot of catching up to do!! Today, for the first time in a while, I got 100 minutes ... so that's a start!

Happy Monday ladies!
I feel like I'm late to the party again. More computer chat here:Yesterday was also computer day. Cleaning up desktop on this laptop, deleting duplicate files (still more to go), backing that up and installing Firefox. It was a breeze. 2 PC's done. I can't believe how many applications were fighting with IE, even though I had downloaded the latest version.
Barbara AHMOD - we are sharing the same brain lately when it comes to concerns about online security. DH and I have been talking about the need to upgrade to Windows 10 after January 14, and we are going to chance it and remain with Windows 7 Pro. We still have Microsoft Security Essentials anti-virus running, and for us, it's been tons better than McAfee.
This laptop will be used to access a few known sites, and that's it. The Fire tablet, which runs on Android and theoretically isn't yet hackable, can take care of the rest of the searching and dinkin' around
We no longer sell anything on Ebay so it's time to close out that Paypal account, thanks for the reminder. Don't like the idea of a window into our bank account, even though we've never had problems.
Same with a debit card. No thanks. Had a friend on vacation whose checking account got wiped out and she spent days dealing with the bank on that. I use cash 90% of the time.
Also, have an acquaintance who was a software engineer involved with the medical records database created by the ACA (Obamacare). I watched her slowly lose her mind, seriously. She couldn't talk about what they were creating, other than a comment "If people only knew what this can do." with a sad look on her face. She refuses to be on social media or even have her photo taken. Her DH, who is also a software engineer for one of the "big" tech companies, doesn't deposit his paycheck, but gets the $$ in cash. I have no idea where he's plunking it. They are in their 60's so have a broader understanding of the pitfalls of money management which can get scary. Are they paranoid? Perhaps, but they might have good reason; they've seen what's going on behind the curtain.
So that's been the impetus behind a lot of our financial decisions.
Janetr - breaks my heart to hear of what's going on in your world right now. Sending healing thoughts to your nieces. And a virtual cast iron skillet to Jack's ex. Better yet, her winning a free trip on a 3 month luxury cruise all over the world starting now! And when she gets back, the rest of the family can take their 3 month luxury cruise. (((HUGS)))
Rori - ((((HUGS)))) to you, Auntie Caveat. When is the appointment with the Social Worker? Crossing fingers they have a lot of useful information to help you make decisions about your DH's dementia and more importantly, that you are able to not get dragged down by being his caregiver.
By the way, lovely ladies, I've several "friend" requests on MFP that I haven't responded to. Like many of you, I don't "do" the friend thing here. It's easy enough to message someone without "friending" them.
That's the latest. Make it a fabulous day!

Hi Everyone! I've been gone for a while but hope to be back more frequently. The last 2 years were pretty rough for me, mentally and financially after being laid off. I am happy to report that I did finally get a full time permanent position with the Commonwealth of Virginia. I am also happy to report that I did actually fall off the wagon but got back on several times. Today I am actually 5 pounds lighter than I was in 2016! Life is good!14

Did the last segment of the 10MS Fitness Ball Workout then took the extremepump class. I don’t think I’m going to do a little exercise any more before the class because I’ve made a commitment to you and many times I totally forget. The plan for tomorrow is to do a DVD for the bosu. Update: we used the TRX today. Haven't used it in a long, long time. I have to pull mine out. Maybe that's something I can do early in the a.m.
The guy to put the quarter round up in my exercise room is FINALLY coming tomorrow. I’ve only been waiting for about 6 years for this. Yes, YEARS, not weeks or even months.
Bananas – girl – get your priorities straight. Work or coming in here???? Is there any choice? <jk>
Barbara – yes, people would have to log into facebook to view the videos. I know that there are some people who just don’t do facebook (like my dh). Before Aldi accepted credit cards, I had a debit card that I used only for there. We put only a few hundred dollars on it. When they started taking credit cards, that’s when I discontinued using the debit card. Too much work unless you have it linked to your checking account which we didn’t want to do.
After exercise stopped at the Salvation Army (didn’t get anything) then to Aldi then to Kohl’s because I forgot to give her my coupon for an additional 25% off. Now home and getting ready to go bowling.
Ceramics tonight then mahjongg.
JR – do you know that my kids have NEVER had a cavity, and Jess is 35! No fair!!! But the dentist did tell me that the reason is because I gave them fluoride tablets when they were young so when their teeth were being formed, the fluoride was IN the tooth. I do have to say that I wish my parents had given them to me. Of course, back then they probably didn’t even have them!
Lanette – about the only reason I like friends here is the ability to look at their menu. Sometimes I get some really good ideas.
Tere – welcome back! It’s so good to see you. And to be lighter – now that’s an accomplishment.

Barbara: I love the video of the dogs at play!
Heather: I used to visit facebook regularly but stopped for the most part. I like keeping track of friends, but don’t want to post private information in a public forum. :noway:
Tracy in Edmonton: You are farther north than we are by far, but I tend to get winter time blues during the short days of December. Putting Christmas lights up all over the place is a huge mood lifter for me. We tend to leave them up beyond the first of the year, too. We have also replaced most of the lights in our house with LED’s because they are significantly brighter and use less electricity.
JanetR: I am so sorry you have a divisive troublemaker in your family. It is sad that this person is creating heartaches for you & others.
RV Rita: Good news that you have a friend who is a pharmacist and can help you sort out your meds.
Change is now: When I started I let MFP set my calorie goals and I chose what to eat within the amount I was allotted. I also focused on regular exercise to burn those calories. It worked well for me, and is still working well. Good luck.
Terewilliams: WELCOME BACK!!! You have been missed.
Heard from DD that one of her children has symptoms that could be caused by diabetes. We are waiting to learn what the doctor has to say. When I was visiting there this fall, this little guy and a horrible runny nose and I came home with a sinus infection that could have been related to him, or simply airplane air. Now we need to find out what the doctor has to say about our grandson.

Katla - feeling concerned about your grandson. My yoga teacher has a grand son who developed it at 18 months. He is fine, but it is a lot of work getting all the dosage sorted out at such a young age. Hard on the parents.
We had a lovely day up in London.
The train we had planned was cancelled, but we found another way round and the new route was great. I never knew it existed until this week! We arrived home much less stressed than usual.
DH's daughter was happy enough and relieved to hear that her sister is OK with his financial plan for the early inheritance.
She still has to sell her apartment though. Times are hard with all our Brexit uncertainty.
I had a 500 calorie pizza and a glass of wine.
When I go up to see my son in Nottingham I will use the same route around London. Now I know it I won't be as nervous. I'm just not good with the unknown. Like Karen I feel the nerves are worth it for the experience. I just have to keep telling myself that.

I am grateful as difficult as our older son can be that I am blessed to have him in my life.
He needs your prayers again as he sorts out his recent troubles. I am hoping I can take him down to Mayo when things get settled because his current treatment is not working.
Time to find out what is going on with a more thorough medical approach.

Margaret ~ Continued good thoughts for your son. Hoping you are able to get him the help that he needs.
Amber ~ My grandson has a very bad gagging reflex. Before he even gets to the dentists chair he throws up and the last time he had to get a throat swab, I had to hold him tight to get it done. He is 9 going on 10.
Tere ~ Glad you came back and good luck as we all continue on this journey.
I was Cookie Monster over the weekend and the scale showed it this AM. Getting back on track today!

Barbara AHMOD - I forgot to mention that I laughed out loud watching Shadow and Tumble playing. I'd say they are buddies. Any guesses as to how much bigger Shadow will get? I am impressed that you outnumber us in the number of dog toys on your floor at any given moment, lol. But not by much!
Tere - welcome back! So happy for you with the new job, hooray! I've been wondering how you were doing, whether you got your gift shop up and running.
Heather - so glad the train ride worked out OK and things are OK with your DH's financial plan for his daughter.
I found a new mystery to watch on Britbox, by the way. Shakespeare and Hathaway. Fun to have a light-hearted series without a lot of drama and blood. I am kind of digging Lu Shakespeare's outfits too, lol.
Someone on here - Allie? Beth?Lisa? recommended Yogi Egyptian Licorice tea a while back. It was on sale today so I picked up a box. I am not a fan of Licorice, but the mixture of other spices in, with a slight sweetness, makes it a winner.
Katla - sending good thoughts to your DD and grandson (and you ). Crossing fingers his illness isn't the harbinger of something worse and if it is, that it's very treatable. (((HUGS))).
Margaret - also hoping for the best for your older son. Medical treatment sounds like a good strategy. (((HUGS))))
Pip - adorable photo of Kirby and Yogi. Yogi looks perfectly content being being the one and only.
OK ladies, have a great evening.
