KJ - Isn't it great to see other people outside getting their exercise in. Nice not to feel alone, but in good company. And no one looking at you as if you are weird.
I found out the other day that Brighton and Hove is one of the top three slimmest places in the UK. Not really a surprise!
Swing dancing tonight. I've made some delicious black bean soup to have before we leave the house. One of my favourite things.

Love reading your positive posts ladies! I'm hanging in there, tough teaching day but it will soon be the holiday, I definitely need the break!
NYKAREN2 -
Hi ladies!
Place- my big house in Virginia, where I spent 18 months. I loved the sunroom with the huge fireplace and views of the woods and the golf course. I was lucky to be there.
Taste has to be chocolate.
Holiday is a tough one. I like US Veterans day. It's not about food. As a military veteran I feel good about myself, but I don't have to do anything specific.
Texture: the feel of my dog's fur. Water on my skin. Yarn of all kinds.
Another morning, another resolution! I have been doing pretty well with exercise lately. My hip is getting stronger. Just need to limit these pesky calories!1 -
Every morning I read some of the highlights of your posts to Jake. Today I read what Kelly said to Yogi and he laughed a lot. Then he told me that I'd have to outlive him because he likes hearing about all of you and he'd miss that if I were gone.

Barbara AHMOD - if we didn't already have the larger Fire Tablet (which we love!! It's not all "infected" with Google this, Google that) and 2 laptops and 2 PC's with Windows 7, I'd spring for a new Dell Laptop. They are having good sales right now.
I can open Word and Excel on the Fire tablet, and actually do work on it. Have a cheap bluetooth keyboard that works fine with it. Haven't taken time to see if I can connect to the WiFi printer, but will investigate.
We have Open Office on one of the older PC's and it's fine. Don't need anything fancy since I'm not doing budgets for work anymore.
So my plan is to take one of the PC's totally offline come January if I can, and use it for my home budgeting spreadsheets, and other financial information I don't want the world to know.
And stay on Windows 7, come what may. Back up faithfully. DH reminded me that in the past, we stayed on various versions of Windows long after Microsoft stopped supporting them. Of course, there are craftier hackers now.
Since you are doing a lot of work for the Fire Department, any chance they can help subsidize a new laptop purchase/upgrade?

"Oh what a beautiful morning!" There wasn't a bright golden haze on the meadow; or a meadow, for that matter. BUT it is, a practically balmy, high 40s outside; and the stars are bright and plentiful in a clear sky. Walking today was an absolute delight! I had Orion to keep me company and passed quite a few other walkers and runners in the dark. All of us wearing our various kinds of lights, reflective gear, etc. Most grunting as they pass someone, while I was practically singing my good morning to them. lol
Good morning all! Welcome newbies! Please feel free to visit often and jump in and comment on whatever moves you. Remember to sign your posts with what you would like us to call you. Also remember to book mark this page by clicking on the empty star on the same line as the title. At the end of the month, our fearless leader Barbie will post the link that will lead us into December. (Unbelievable that December is only a few days away!)
I have met my walking challenge of 100 miles for this month! Whoot! So...anything I walk between tomorrow and the end of the month is bonus miles! If I continue to get my yoga and strength training in for the next couple of days, I will meet my goal of 24 hours of exercise in a month! Both of these are huge for me due to having to fit two hours of exercise into my already busy work day. Hopefully the scale will see the change. I know my clothes are fitting nicer!
Amber- I am a firm believer that babies (like animals) can sense "good people". IF you can find that pic of you, you should post it.
Yogi- So glad you are feeling better, young man! (in my best doggy voice:) "Who's a good boy?! Who's a good boy?! You are! Yes, you are!" (lots of virtual pats and ear scratches given )
Karen VA- A cranberry relish with peppers and lime and cilantro?! Sounds heavenly!
Heather MILLIONAIRE'S SHORTBREAD?! How could I have never had this? Yummm!
Gratitude #12- Texture: While I do like smooth at the end of the day (such as when I slide into nice clean sheets), during the day I love a nubbly texture under my hand. I have sensory books and toys for the kids and I absolutely love the nubbly/bumpy textured ones. I can feel the energy flowing into me when I run my hands over them. Good stuff!
Love and hugs to you all! That is about all that I've got, today. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

I was up late in the night with iphone update issues. It is working again, but they made me give it a password. I’m not happy about the whole thing, but it is done and the phone works,

Katla That sounds like a pain, what you went through with your phone. I'm glad it was on the up-and-up. XOXO

I put my little garden to bed this morning. I have an area about 12ftx18ft with raised beds. I pulled out all the old plants and put down brown paper as a weed barrier, both in the beds and on the ground. My feet are filthy .

Katla, sorry you have Apple phone issues! When first read the post I should it might be a scam, wishing your password and all.😕😕
If I ever get a phone I will only deal with actual assistants at the Verizon stores or some such actual place. I am too leary of people on the phone in general. I know its weird I don't own a cell phone, but its refreshing to travel places and not have to capture pics on a phone, or receive phone calls. The young kids of today don't understand the idea of capturing an image with your eyes and mind, and that's enough. Yes I am all for family portraits, its just everyday things that's silly sometimes. What is historians going to think of the kids of today's photos. Look here's a pic of her shoes. Oh and here's a pic of a sandwich....
💖Rebecca2 -
Thanks for your sympathy regarding the phone issue. It is resolved. Apple made me add a password and the drama is on hold for now. I detest having to have a password to use my own phone. I know they're trying to protect me from theft/ID theft. :grumble:3

Candy in the office work room. I seriously wish my cohorts would stop bringing candy into the office. I did have a few pieces but figure its not a big deal as long as I count it but honestly. I am glad hubby decided tonight was a good night for scallop, nice and healthy. I have to say I am liking retired husband (he retired early and is much older than I am) I get home from work and he has cooked dinner and cleaned the house. I can see why guys have liked this deal all this time. I am so looking forward to semester break. Once thanksgiving is over there is one week of actual class and then exam week. It is going to fly by and I cant wait.....
Barbie - I am in Central New Hampshire so we get pretty darn cold here in winter. It is a damp cold as well. I have a lightweight winter coat that I hardly wear because of my hibernation habit. This year because of my friend Tracy (who definitely has different ideas of habitable climate than I do) I bought the absolute warmest coat I could find. It has fake fur around the hood and insulation etc. I have to many hobbies. I play fiddle, guitar, viola and tin whistle, mostly Irish Traditional. Then I do stained and fused glass, I knit and weave and I sell commissioned drawings in pencil and pastel and watercolor. My friend is teaching me how to use my camera as more than a point and shoot. We also have 7 dogs. I think it is cool that you dance. I took tap for a while but I sucked so bad. I decided that was not my thing. What kind of dogs do you have?
AuntieBK I use a rigid heddle. I have thought about buying a 4 or 8 harness loom but I don't really have a place to put it so I bought a schacht brand rigid heddle, mostly I make scarves and wraps. I also have a small schacht cricket which is a small rigid heddle that is more portable. I will take a picture of it once I get it warped up later tonight.

Pipcd34 Oh yeah those sterilized bones are not good for teeth... we stopped feeding them years ago for that reason2

Barbara - I think it was you who asked for a pic of my new travel purse. It came today so I have added a pic in the spoiler as requested. It is small enough to fit inside my carryon for boarding and large enough to hold everything I need when I am away (if I'm not driving, if I have to put a key fob in it, something else gets taken out to make room for those gigantic things).

Type: mylovelist2015 into Google.
You should get the MyLoveList - all about organising estates, etc. ... very good information.

But what else do you get? What images? Don't worry ... they should be "clean".

Pc/laptop preferences: Have to prepare for end of Windows 7 in January. Dreading it. Mostly use laptop for email, research, writing, spreadsheets, mfp. OK with OpenOffice, prefer MSOffice pre-Office 365 (due cloud mistrust issues). MUST have keyboard.

Why are you hanging onto Windows 7 and dreading a change?
Windows 10 is a small adjustment because it is slightly different from Window 7, but I prefer it. Once I had gone to it on one of my laptops, and had spent a little bit of time looking around, I switched everything over to Windows 10 and could hardly wait until my work computer switched. Fortunately it did a few months ago.
I hung onto Windows 95 and 2000 for ages, but I've quite happily moved from Win 7 to 10. I skipped Vista and Win 8 all together.
This is cute ... and I went on to describe Windows 10 as the XP house but with nice shutters and better landscaping.

Happy Good Grief Day!
"'Good grief!' is a phrase often used by Charlie Brown, the main character from Charles Schulz's comic strip, Peanuts. Schulz was born on this day in 1922, and today is dedicated to both him and his enduring comic strip. Peanuts ran almost fifty years—from October 2, 1950, until February 13, 2000, which was one day after Schulz's death. Schulz created all aspects of the comic, from the script to the art and lettering. Today, reprints of Schulz's comic appear in many U.S. newspapers."
Machka - I love the Hallmark workout!
Lanette - Thanks for the suggestion about cannabis. We can get hemp oil here but nothing with THC. We'll be visiting Colorado in February and I've been thinking of visiting a dispensary to try out some topical products for pain in my hands. Oh, and I still love John Denver!
Pip - Sorry to hear Yogi isn't feeling himself. Hope the dental exam goes well and he doesn't lose too many teeth, but either way he'll feel better with any problem teeth extracted.
Terri - Deepest condolences on the loss of your friends. These days every year when I leave our Friendsgiving I find myself wondering how many of us will still be there next year.
We got back from our three-day weekend in College Station yesterday afternoon, and I haven't checked the scale since. I'm sure it'll be up a bit - even if I hadn't broken the rules a little during our Friendsgiving feast, I definitely didn't to a good job of staying hydrated. But that's OK, I know what to do. The trip started out rainy but by Saturday it was pretty out and we spent a lot of time walking around the new equine complex at the vet school (which is where we were camped). My football team lost this weekend, but at least they were playing in Georgia so there was space available on campus!
Before we hooked up the RV to go home, we spent some time driving around looking at neighborhoods in Bryan. I really want to move back there, and would have done it already if Philip wasn't trying to build a practice here. We saw some cute places we could downsize to, but for now we're stuck as long as he's still working.
Watching The Voice now, and getting ready to head out to the gym as soon as it's over.

Machka - we are hanging onto Windows 7 due to not wanting to spend $$ right now, plus we do 95% of web activity on the Fire tablets anyhow. Laptop is easier to type on of course with full size keyboard. But we have a fix with the bluetooth keyboard as I mentioned.
Sorry if I was giving the impression we were dreading a change, because we aren't at all. If I was still working or taking classes like you are, it would be a different story. They were just starting to introduce Windows 10 at my workplace when I retired.
My DH taught computers at the local college and retired there as a network administrator. So I trust his judgement on waiting to make the switch when our laptop's mother board goes kaput. 😏

Kenna, We have two dogs. Sasha is a Standard Poodle and Bessie is a mixed breed rescue dog. Sasha loves to walk but Bessie likes to go for a short walk and then go home and go back to bed. I walk them both together early in the morning for 20-40 minutes. After breakfast Bessie will walk for 10-40 minutes before wanting to go home and then Sasha and I go on for another hour or more. In the afternoon Bessie walks only for a few minutes then Sasha and I walk for 30 minutes. We don't let the weather interfere. Last winter we had way over a foot of snow for over a week and we walked in that. I bought YakTrax to be able to walk on the packed snow/ice on the roads. We believe that there is no bad weather, just bad clothing. Except for walking the dogs, I tend to hibernate the rest of the day.
