Hi everyone, my goal is to lose 7 lbs by the end of the year and then another 7 to hit onederland by the end of January. It’s going to be a stretch but I am inspired!!
In addition to several holiday parties, I have some travel at the beginning of the month and then my office gym is closing for 6 weeks starting on Dec 16. Fortunately I am taking I’ll be off work from the 21st through the end of the year but I need to find an alternative workout venue for those 6 weeks. I am considering an exercise bike, which I would have to put in the attic. Not ideal but it would be nice to have something in the house for when I can’t get a workout in before going home. Please let me know if you have recommendations for spinning bikes or workout programs you like!
I’d also like to simplify and get myself more organized and focused, hence my mediation goal. It’s a lot to pack in this month with the holiday but I am hoping I can make progress with my time off of work.14 -

Last month went well so I'm keeping my goals at the same level. It would have been nice to put Onederland as my goal but realistically with the holidays I think that would have been setting me up for failure. I'm not going to do that. Who needs the stress?
So happy to see everyone carrying over to Dec and looking forward to making friends with the new thread members. I've gotten so much encouragement and inspiration from this wonderful group and hope you will too.

December Goal: Anything under 220
GW: 170
My goal for November was to get under 225, and I accomplished that, it's just the Thanksgiving weekend bounce up that is masking it right now. Hoping to get under 220 and lose another 5 pounds in December. It will be rough, because I don't do well during holidays when I'm off my usual schedule.
Other goals -
Exercise at least 3 times a week - I have to do this and I have to be consistent. Every week.
Clean up weekend eating - Pray for me during all the holiday parties and friend get togethers. I am weak.9 -
It's December and I am hoping I can stay on track. Although I didn't see the scale move as much as I would have liked it to in November, it did move. Here are my stats:
Sw 288 End of March 2019.
Cw 225
Gw 144?
Dec Gw 219
I am committing to logging everyday. Drinking at least 90 oz of water. Fit in exercise every day even if I don't feel like it. Some days are a struggle. Also to check in on this thread at least once day! You all are great! Let's rock December!! ❄⛄❄⛄🎄12 -

December won't be easy for me...Never is! I love sweets! My December goals are to log everything I eat, move more daily, and keep going even if there's a hiccup in the road. Good luck, everyone!9 -
I'd like to join in! I'm just getting back to paying attention to my health. Just started last week. I was 293.4 😱 which is the heaviest I've ever been. I'm doing my weigh ins on Mondays so I'll post an update tomorrow.
My goals for Dec are to stay within my calorie goals, walk at least 1 mile per day, and get back into the gym at least 2 days a week. That Planet Fitness membership isn't worth much when it's not used.
Sw - 293.4
Cw - will post tomorrow

Hi,
Thanks for inviting me. I would also like to participate. There will be much stress this month. As women, I think there are many expectations of us at the holidays. I often allow that to overcome me and succumb to emotional eating.
I gained in November !

My goals are to stop the mindless eating and snacking that happens normally after dinner; to sit down at the table and eat instead of hovering over the stove or eating in the car, and to up my step count, which is currently riding around 5k. I am hesitant to put a number on the weight that I hope to lose based on my upward trend since September.

December Goal: Lose 6 pounds
GW: 199lbs
Daily Goals:
1. Log all food (using MFP)
2. Exercise 30 min (captured by Apple watch, walking counts)
3. Meditate daily (~5-10 min using “Stop, Think , Breathe” app)
I had a small loss last month (was larger and then Thanksgiving happened) so I am trying to think about what went wrong the last week to not do the same this month. Hoping I get a nice drop this week to help balance that out. Adding meditation to help ground me and to help me be mindful of my actions.10 -
Welcome to all the new members and hello to everyone joining from the November thread!!
Height: 5'6"
SW (09/08/2019): 239.2 lbs
December SW (12/1): 210.0 lbs
December GW: 202.0 lbs
GW: 150 lbs (then reconsider)
My goals for December are:
- Reach 100 consecutive days logging in MFP
- Cardio for 45-60 min, 5-6 times a week, 3 of the sessions Couch-to-5K workouts
- Advance in the Couch-to-5K plan to Week 2 workouts. I plan to repeat each week of workouts 3 or 4 weeks, depending on how my lower-body joints are holding up
- Core exercises at least 3 times a week
- Lose 3 inches in my measurements
- Lose 8 pounds
- Get out of my hugely overstretched work pants (“clown pants”) into the same pairs of work pants which are only somewhat overstretched. Not my goal to “pants” myself at work or during my commute. But since they’re still hanging on, literally by a thread, I’m going to keep wearing them.
- Take better care of my skin in hopes it will start to regain its shape. Sigh. It is not that much to do and should be easy to make a part of my routine so it pains me personally that I just don’t do this regularly for myself regardless of this goal.
Looking forward to these milestones in December:
- Leaving the 210s behind for good. I’m right on the edge…but have definitely demonstrated that 3-pound fluctuations are still a possibility.
- 100 days of consecutive logging in MFP!
- Including running as a part of my cardio workout for a month. Earlier this summer I was on crutches for a few days until I had 15 mL of water aspirated from my knee. And that is the least of all the orthopedic problems in my lower body. Consistently running and making progress slowly conditions my musculoskeletal system and helps prevent injury long-term!
Not a lot of milestones to look forward to this month, and many challenges to boot with bad weather, parties, and social engagements. Plus my work schedule is going to be irregular for most of the month. I think it’s a lot of nose to the grindstone for me this month to get the job done.
We managed November, we can handle this December! Onward!10 -
Hello everyone, I'm coming on over from the November thread. This has been a great group and I'm excited to continue on with you all into December! I'm feeling a little forlorn this morning because we went away for Thanksgiving and on the actual holiday I did indulge a bit, but I kept things pretty well in check- even heading out for a 5 mile walk/jog that morning followed by taking all the kids for a 2 mile hike to a waterfall. The real downside came in the few days after the holiday, where I ate whatever I wanted Friday while sitting around with family and then yesterday on the road trip home I snacked for much of the 7 hour drive. Tried to let the snacks stand for themselves as meals and avoid eating meals, but as we know junky snacks don't fill you up so I found myself eating those meals anyway.
Anyway, it erased most of the gains I made in November, so it's two steps back for me. I'm going to aim for a little over a 5 lb loss in December. I'm acknowledging the holiday treats and festivity will be difficult, but also hoping a little that the scale will come down a bit over the next few days as I drink water and get back into exercise.

Other December goals:
-Continue to exercise 5 days a week, with at least 3 workouts strength training
-Log my food daily
-Spend time outdoors whenever I can, despite the short days I will get outside in some capacity 5 days a week!
-Ride my horse 8 times
Today, I am fighting over a cold so my exercise will be mellow, perhaps a walk with my dogs and some gentle yoga. Have a good day everyone and welcome to December! I am excited for December, I do love the holidays and the coziness that comes with it. Happy for my treadmill though, that I bought a few months ago from a friend who was moving out of town. It makes it easy to move my body even when the weather is dark.

Hi. I have not been feeling well for a number of reasons. Today I am starting back on a physician’s wellness program that I had success with in 2017. My daughter has had great success with MFP so I thought I would use it in conjunction with the wellness program. Best wishes for a healthy holiday season. Julie10

Im 5'10" 26, I have successfully lost 10lbs in the last 5 weeks but I'm struggling now. I'm tired and I have no desire to get off the couch. I don't really have a support system so I'm trying to reach out. I need all the help I can get. I started doing cardio 6 days a week following DVDs. I've been really paying attention to portion control and choosing the right things to eat. I just need some support and encouragement. Thanks!10 -
I had a rough end to November, but I'm still here! My goal is pretty much just to weigh less at the end of the month than I do now. I'd like to get to the 230's, but I'd be happy with any kind of loss.

Hi guys! November did not end strongly for me. I’m taking my official start weight for December tomorrow, and my goal will be -5 from that.
SW: 239 (May 2019)
CW: 191.8 (as of this morning-did not weigh on the scale I usually do though, so it could be a little more)
November was a rough month. My goal was to hit 188.2, and the lowest number I hit was 190 flat. November was the first month I didn’t reach my goal, and it sucks, but that’s okay. I’ve still come a very long way since May, and I’m so close to 50 total lost. Hopefully December will be the month to hit 50😍🔥💪🏻 I need to keep my motivation up and keep my calories honest. Hopefully I’ll also be able to incorporate a little bit more exercise. Also, I’ll be getting a Fitbit for Christmas, so hopefully that enhances some newfound motivation in me.
I hope everyone has a strong month to set us up for success for the new year, I believe in you all! We GOT this👍🏻9 -

I just copied this over from the November thread, looking forward to everyone's progress in December!
Well, end of November is here, the end of my first month in gym training and recommitting myself to stick with this. I am pleased with my progress overall and realize that I am now heading into the time when I'm most likely to fail, when the honeymoon starts to wear off.
I missed my first gym workout yesterday when my brother and his family popped in for the afternoon. That break in the flow can be a huge trigger for me, but I'm not going to let it get me. I'm going to make myself a healthy light lunch, get chores done, then head to the gym. I have my scheduled workout tomorrow and will be back on schedule. That makes me feel good.
Thanksgiving wasn't too, too bad. I was just barely under "calories out" with my logged "calories in". There was some pumpkin pie involved, but I had cantalope instead of sweet potatos (hey, did you know if you slice it up the right way, it looks just like a bowl of baked sweet potatos?), I made a big batch of fresh veggies in chicken stock and some cheddar cheese, yummy and a good filler, and a nice ham. Salt content was up there, but I broke even for the day. Had one piece of pumpkin pie with a bit of fluff. Skipped my birthday cake this year. Yesterday made chocolate chip cookies with my boys and ate some, but logged them and stayed nicely under. Net result? I did continue to go down this week. That feels good.
On to December! I missed -15 pounds by just 0.2 pounds today. So close! Can't wait to cross that barrier, then on to -20.
<mushy paragraph of gratitude>
I want to take this time to express how thankful I am for everyone on this thread. I may not post very much, but I read and gain so much support from all of your posts, I can't thank you all enough. I'm not good with the multiple posting thing, need to figure out multiple quotes, but your stories mean the world to me. Thank you. Reading about success stories, struggles, your ways of coping, of approaching this journey - makes me not feel so alone. I love my family, but I am one of those people that can't handle struggling in front of them, if that makes sense. I know they say let your family support you, and mine absolutely do and would do anything I asked of them, but I feel stronger and more empowered, somehow, logging/committing on my own. They know I'm exercising, they know I am trying, but the logging, the personal trainer, the actual details I keep as a personal hope chest, I guess - or maybe as a personal pride? Either way, I'm doing it. I need to keep on doing it. So thank you to everyone. I value your camaraderie, your sharing, your encouragement, and your support. It means more coming from people who have lived my struggle, I just feel like you understand more. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hello everyone! Struggling a bit here on this Dec 1st. Had surgery 3 days ago and am on a very light lifting restriction for a little bit. Battling a bit of nausea which is hampering my food intake right now. Anyhow I am always looking for friends so add me if you like. Dec will I think be very challenging for me.
SW 247.8lbs
CW 223.6lbs
GW 170lbs
Goals for December: just make it through without putting any weight back on. Wish me luck. Lol6 -
So far fall has been a bit challenging. I like the theme for Dec. Although I thought I was being good for Thanksgiving. Clearly I overate, so says the scale! Sooo my goal is still 189 for Dec. I feel like I’ve been bouncing up and down in the 190s for months...grrr. I need a detox week, water water water....
Goals no alcohol, chips, or cheese until Xmas Eve.
Avoid any pot lucks in December.
Bump up exercise
Sleep more & drink more water.
Try to actively manage stress.5 -
So did my first weigh in today (after starting last week)
Height: 164cm / 5'4"
SW: 108kg
CW: 106kg
GW: 85kg
UGW: 60kg
Definitely gotta get a better scale. The cheapo mechanical one I have doesn't seem super accurate.
Goal for this month is to log daily regardless of going over my aim, and to set the habit of 1200-1400 cal per day.5 -
December goals
99.9kg - again! currently 100.2, surely I can do this!!
average cals under 1950 a day (before exercise) - last month was 1965
average snacks under 23% - last month was 23.5%
meditate 3 times a week - been doing this on and off for a while
I'm going to London in 10 days time for six months, will be socialising a lot but also will have lots of time for walks in the park so I usually lose weight when I'm there. But means I want to get under 100kg before I get on the plane friday week.6
