While waiting for the heavy rain to pass this morning I spent some time really stretching, rolling out and doing my PT sequence of exercises for my knee. It was just about the right amount of time because when I finished all of that the heavy rain was gone. I ended up having a fantastic run focusing on form and doing some drills. PT has me doing what he calls marching drills with high knees so I did that but while running if that makes any sense. I was surprised when I saw my pace a couple of times but the best part - I felt strong and nothing hurt!
Intersections were flooded and more importantly the connector to the other section of trail was flooded enough that I didn't want to go through and instead went back around my usual way.
DH had gotten chicken noodle soup for me and it was waiting for me at home and gave me something to look forward to. I was soaking wet but felt amazing!

5 miles tonight. Finally got the first run in December done. Took it slow, and didn't feel any pain 👍
It was a minute/mile slower than my normal easy pace, but I'll trade that for no pain any day. As this is my last day to be 56, I guess I may finally getting wiser in my old age 😒

Thanks @LoveyChar .
@Scott6255 I never even thought about just using my browser. I've don't have much trouble navigating through MFP. If I ever do, I hope I can remember this trick. Glad you had a pain free run. Happy Birthday!
@shanaber Glad your run went so well! I don't think I would have ran through that either. Happy Birthday!!!
@Avidkeo Sending all the positive vibes I can muster! Hope it all works out.
I did a slow run on the treadmill tonight after I got home from work.

Happy Birthday @shanaber! Now that you mention it I seem to remember you telling me we have the same birthday last year.
It is so weird how so many people I know have our same birthday: My twin, TWO of my nieces, you, and I.
Ha, @PastorVincent I'll be thrilled to run my new age in miles as a total for the month 😁
Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes 💓4 -
I will likely have to run my birthday miles on Friday @PastorVincent. Tomorrow I have to take our elderly friend to the doctors and what was originally expected to be a short visit with the nurse has now morphed into tests and then a consult with a vascular doctor. That typically means we will be there all day by the time the transport comes, we wait around there and then wait for the transport to come back for us.
@Scott6255 - I have never met anyone with the same birthday other than you! My grandma's was the closest, on the 7th.6 -
@shanaber & @Scott6255 Happy birthday! I hope it is an amazing day and I don't personally know you but I'm 43 and I've only been running for 4 years!!! You give me hope and inspire me to do it until I'm 80!!! When I'm out running, there's this elderly man probably in his 80's. He's super skinny and never wears a shirt and when we cross paths he always says "nice pace." I have this feeling/instinct that tells me he was a former runner turned speed walker as age has slowed him down but not stopped him. I just want to hug him because he inspires me just by being there and with those simple words. Happy happy birthday! Enjoy it and if you eat some cake, I'd love to hear a full description of it! I'm envisioning it...8

Ohhh happy birthday!4 -
@mbaker566 I've committed to this, wanna do it with me? The fund-raising side is totally optional.
I laughed at the decorate the squat rack thing, I have actually considered decorating the treadmill that lives in the corner of my lounge. My husband wouldn't let me sell it because he has a vague intention of using it to walk on 'some time'. I would rather run in torrential rain and gale force winds than use it now.
Happy birthday @shanaber and @Scott6255 !!!6 -

Well, what if you divide by 10? So if you are say 97, run 9.7 miles?6 -
Anyone have any ideas about why my easy pace is FASTER the day after my long run??? Shouldn't I be tired or something???
I mean, it was awesome that I could walk up and down the entire stone-paved hill (aka twisted ankle just waiting to happen, and I thought my bicycle was going to bust the one and only time I rode that way)... and keep my watch running while walking around checking out the little "stations of the cross" prayer path I saw next to a church at my turnaround point, and STILL have an overall pace faster than I expected for "recovery"... but if I'm doing something right, I'd love to figure it out so I can keep doing it!
December goal 100 miles

Thank you all for the suggestion to use the browser version of this, rather than the thread. It is definitely easier.4

@polskagirl01 oh wow I didn’t know that was an option lol which is why I don’t post so much since I travel for work and typically only use the app which for this group and the fast threads is like 😯 yet I love reading the posts and try to comment and like/love as much as possible.3

Funny thing is for the first several months I was in this challenge I did not know there was an option to use the app. After trying it back then, I decided there was not really an option to use the app.6
