@mbaker566 - I have those same shoes! don't run in them though, I got them just for walking. They have too much cushion for me to run in but I love the wide toe box! I wondered if Speed Demon ran in her cute pink jammies. Clearly she is a very stylish runner
Since i of a lot of road running, the cushion works for me. My trail shoes have significantly less.
She does run in her shirts and sweaters. She's from the south. Her belly stays pretty bare.3 -
Oh, was out for a run tonight, just an easy 13 miles... and found another tree:

So I've missed my walk for 2 days now, unfortunately. Have been trying to get a walk in every day and want to add running once I get some weight off. Don't want to injure myself. I have, however, been very careful with my calories and logging.
Sadly I've been with my elderly father who has taken a turn for the worse. We're now just waiting. I think I'll do my walk tomorrow morning before I drive the hour to my dad's.
Trying hard not to lose focus. So far so good. Wish me luck!16 -

@Christine4695 Sorry to hear about your father. And good luck with your fitness goals for December.3 -
@shanaber Your cake looks so delicious! I was thinking you were so weird because I was discussing my runner friend, shirtless, and you said a picture is worth a thousand words and I thought you were telling me you wanted me to get a picture of him. Oh I'm special tonight.
Enjoyed reading everyone's goals and accomplishments and glad to see fellow newbies.3 -

@Christine4695, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know what you are going through, my father passed in Feb after a long battle with cancer. Good luck and again, I am thinking and praying for you and your family.

Woke up late so wasn't going to run. After a little while decided that I would be in a funk all day if I didnt. So did a quick 5k around the local park, it was quick (usual caveats apply). I am becoming more relaxed about it being the daytime and peope being out ahd about when I run.
In short, running is an emotional positive now?? I mean, its a theory.
December goals:
1. Distance ..........110k................27k
2. Runs.................16....................4
3. Long distance..13k..................12k
4. Other ...............10k/1walk.......3

Partly sunny and high 20s F today. A little tightness in my upper back, but all else felt well. Made it to 1,000 miles for the year. A bittersweet day to reach that milestone, especially based on some of the previous posts -- today would have been my mom's 90th birthday.
Good luck, racers!!!

It’s been the strangest week. We were in Nashville for the holiday where on Saturday a week ago, my son tore his paraspinal muscle by not bending his knees for a landing at the trampoline park. He’s been invalid all week. I did manage to squeeze in a run on Tuesday night and ran the whole 22 minutes!
So far today I’ve done 25 minutes non stop/ just under 3 miles, with seven to go to make my long run.
I came home because I was supposed to go with a friend on a road trip to get an antique ceramic Christmas tree but that isn’t going to work out because I need to get my headlight fixed. I got pulled over for it IN MY DRIVEWAY last night.
So now I have more time to lift and finish the seven miles and get my headlight fixed.
Today has already been so abnormal, as has this week, so I’m trying to mind over matter myself into finishing well.
Happy running today, everyone!9 -
