RV Rita- (I got IBSD,Ulcerative y microscopic colitis) Maybe go back to a basic diet for colitis
    1.Toast
    2.soup
    3liquid y soft foods
4.banana to juices that are low acidic

Work your way back up to solids to help the inflammation . Buy some chocolate Sugarfree jello pudding (I put unsweetened almond milk)y Sugarfree jello you can go crazy on those they won’t effect weight or symptoms.

    Amber Tx

Eating a Vegetarian pizza- cheese y mushrooms.couldnt even look at the chicken or egg whites

Thanks for all the advice and hugs! Unfortunately I’ve tried it all. Just have to ride it through. Unfortunately soup, bananas and wheat set it off.

Betsy - So sorry to hear about your sister. <3 Glad to hear the mediation went well. It's been a long haul.

Allie - Hooray for the cruise! B) 60! You youngster, you!

Shopped for more Christmas food. :o I've made the stuffing and it's in the freezer. I even bought the brussel sprouts as they had a long date on them, ditto the cream. I'm going to make a tiny bit of brandy butter, mainly just for me, as I don't know if my son will eat it. It goes with the Christmas pudding.
Looking at the mountain of stuff, I'm going to have to rest the turkey for ages so I can get all the other stuff into the ovens once it's come out. I pick up the rolled breast on Monday.
Tomorrow I will clean the guest bathroom and put out towels etc for my stepdaughter, who arrives by train and taxi in the evening. There is food in the freezer for her and DH is making a cabbage salad. She is not a big eater. Middle Eastern theme.
She will go home the following morning. We hope the flooded train tracks will be ok by tomorrow or her food will stay in the freezer. :|
In the afternoon we have Edie for a one to one. I have bought some aeroplanes to make with her, that she asked for, that you colour in and assemble. :D<3 I'm sure she will be searching the presents and wondering why she only has one and the others have two. That's because the hideous talking doll was still talking inside its wrapped box!!! :# It's in the garage. Her other present is decoupage.

    "Todo"s and "done"s
Did Friday: T’ai Chi, bought/mailed cards, returned bulbs, to Freddie’s, reconcile checking account (Discover wasn’t bill but loan offer) pickedup old pc, line danced and stayed AF. This morning made crescent batter. Today will: finish the tree, wrap and drop off ornaments to Lois, organize firehall paperwork/start board mtg minuted, walk/comb Tumble, get eggnog and vegs at Farmer’s Market, drive across border for sparkling red wine, Courvoisier and a pint of Meyer’s Rum (better the Caramel Vodka should wait ‘tiil next Thanksgiving ;> ), bake crescents, find make forgotten cookies recipe, abstain from alcohol.

    Whining complaint:
Joe’s keyboard is driving me nuts. Now it’s the "i" that doesn’t take, and I keep brushing the touch pad so cursor jumps about randomly. Will see if I can disable as Joe and I both prefer the mouse. AND the danged 10 key pad is where I’m accustomed to cursor arrows/Home/End. Maybe I can turn off for me but leave on for Joe. My old laptop’s hard drive is failing, SmartData showed it turning off and on 11,000 times in just a few hours, and 3 million? billion? read/write errors. PC guy will build me a better used one, but won’t see it ‘til after Christmas, likely New Years, so I’m stuck with this. Will have to figure out how to disable wireless when connecting via ethernet for banking and ordering online. Whine Grumble Complain. Remember to be grateful that Joe HAS a laptop to lend!
One benefit to PC woes, instead of being cloistered in my office, I’m out at the dining room table, listening to, interacting, just hanging out with Joe and the pooches. Feels surprisingly good.

No rx today, refill not yet arrived, glad its just bone and not pain meds. No pack walk today, even if it weren’t pouring down ran, it’s near the stinky sewage treatment plant
And Oops, forgot to weigh in BEFORE drinking 3 cups of tea. SMH.

may your social media hiatus be truly restorative and your holidays happy, healthy, warm and safe. ❤
Machka Yippeee for discarding that kilo. Rest easy and hope the pain abates quickly. “recovering” true that!
    Pip :brokenheart:
Lanette happy Solstice back atcha! Was thinking that for Katla, me and all others who yearn for sunlight, we’ve turned a corner. Every day sunlight lingers a moment longer. Agree with you and Michelle about our grandparents' active lifestyles, also somewhat about what they ate. Papa’s mother “Big Grandma” lived in the city in extremely straitened circumstances with four children to feed and a thankfully absent abusive husband. She was both obese and bed ridden at the end of her too short life. Her mother “Little Grandma” lived in the country, a civil war widow (she was 16 when she married her 45 year old husband) who raised the 2 surviving of 11 infants, grew most all her own food and “put up” the surplus for the lean times. She was terrorizing my cousins with her cane well into her 90s. She was still alive when Papa and Mama brought me at age 1 yr to meet her. Wish I could remember her ;)
Betsy so glad all parties agreed to the mediated settlement. So sad your relief over that should be overshadowed by worry for your sister. Prayers and hugs.

Long past sitting time limit, get me UP!

RvRita- that’s the problem with stomach diets they don’t fit ya all! Celiac disease is common too. I got to watch milk 🥛 or I’m stuck in the bathroom. Cheese 🧀 lol 😂 I can have it but only cause it usually constipates folks so for me keeps me regular like fiber.

No results for Barbie, Lanette, Kayla and all who walk in the pouring down rain, need your advice. Joe I just walked dogs drive back, less than a half mile. My 20 year old ll bean pink raincoat (in profile pic) my “boy’s” rain pants both failed. I’m soaked to skin. What materials/brands do you recommend?.

Greetings Ladies - Hubs and I are both off for the holidays! Woo hoo! He goes back the 2nd and I officially go back the 7th....I will do some work for job 2 before then, but it is easy stuff.

We accomplished a lot around the house today. Hubs dropped the used motor oil off to be recycled and we dropped the used batteries off to be responsibly disposed of. I got all of the inside Christmas stuff taken down and hubs hauled all the tubs back out to the shop and we got them all put up. I still have the lights on the house and the tree is lit on the back porch. They will stay up until New Year's. We won't be home Christmas Day so I generally take down the stuff so I can walk back in to a clean house that only needs to have the Christmas goodies put away.

I really need to make a hard run through my closet and donate a LOT. Maybe after hubs goes back to work and I am still off. I have to be in the right frame of mind or I just keep everything.

    Have a great weekend!

:) Both my coats are from L.L. Bean and are many layers. One has a zip out lining, the other is down filled. Both have nylon and polyester listed as main components. Because I have two coats, I can alternate them--one hanging while I wear the other one.

:)Lanette, You asked about blue tooth ear buds. I have blue tooth headphones that pair to my phone. I found them on Amazon. There are many brands and the ones I have aren't available any more. There is a huge range of prices but when I chose mine, I stayed away from the most and the least expensive. For walking outdoors, I didn't want noise cancelling because I want to be able to hear traffic. For watching TV indoors while others are around, noise cancelling would be a good choice.

Barbara AHMOD - I don't mind walking in light rain but stay out of downpours. That being said, my favorite coat to wear on my 1 mile walks is a cheap water resistant one from Blair that's probably ten years old. Has a hood. Light blue so I can be seen when its foggy out or at dusk. It's lightweight with a "satin" lining, and has buttons, does not zip. 100% polyester and machine washable. Large enough that I can put on a long johns waffle weave pullover top and a pullover sweater and still button it, lol. I like things roomy! Dries fast.

I just checked their website, they don't make them anymore. :(

Coats with zippers just aren't practical for me so they have to have snaps or buttons.

I did get a hip-length Eddie Bauer jacket with zip out lining I sometimes wear to town that's quite warm, has a hood. Has a zipper and snaps, lol. It's fairly water-resistant. Roomy, like it a lot.

I'm lucky to have an Eddie Bauer outlet store fairly close by and will swing in after Christmas to see what's left on the sale racks.

Barbie - Thank you for the information on your blue tooth headphones. I'm starting to wear my hearing aid more, it's in my left ear, so was considering a "bud" for my right ear a few hours a day to be able to listen to movies or videos I'm watching on the tablet while DH is watching his TV shows. Still a lot of investigating to do and Amazon website is overwhelming me, lol.

OK time to pull on my light blue raincoat and another quick walk in.

Heather - after hearing about all of the rain you have had and the transportation problems it is causing, I'm not complaining about our piddly 5" in the past 3 days. We're in the foothills so it comes up quickly and flows away quickly.

Machka[/b] - what you posted about blinking lights is fascinating. I don't have epilepsy but quite often blinking animations online and bright lights give me a queasy stomach like I'm coming down with a migraine. Something to do with my neurological wiring.

Me too! And they affect my mother even worse than me.

Our Christmas lights in the windows have several modes. The first one, and one that comes on automatically at 8 pm, starts slowly switching between colours, then goes crazy with the flashing. About 10 minutes of that, and I've got a headache, feel ill, and am ready to crawl into a dark hole. I don't know why that's even an option in the modes! Fortunately there are better modes and we quickly choose the one that slowly switches between blue and yellow lights then red and green lights. It very slowly makes the switch and then stays with the the colour for a while, then very slowly makes the switch again, so that's all right.

My mother and I often have bad reactions to fluorescent lights too. She can't be in a room with fluorescent lights without natural light or some other type of light at all. I can't be around fluorescent lights when they are getting anywhere close to dying, even if there is natural light.

Apparently people with migraines have bad reactions to flickering/flashing lights too.

Back home with DH and Ella...not sure which one was happier to see me. Ella and I walked an extra long walk this morning to celebrate the solstice. Trip to Alaska was productive with mediation. The Settlement Agreement isn't signed yet but all parties agreed to the terms. Hopefully will be signed and a done deal by end of 2019.

My sister has been stumbling more since middle summer and three times had uncontrollable trembling in her right leg. Her doctor sent her to a neurologist and she had an extensive physical exam and an MRI. The MRI showed three tumors on the brain, one large one on the left temporal lobe and two smaller ones on the occipital lobe. There is much swelling around the tumors so she is taking steroids to decrease he edema and an anti seizure medicine and will come to WA and have diagnostic tests when the edema is controlled. She is a trooper and is handling the situation well. I think better than I am.

Betsy in NW WA...... where it is wet and warm

Really sorry to hear about your sister!!

Prior to my husband's accident, I spent a lot of time in our office doing homework because it was quieter there. Since his accident, he wants to be near me so I've set up at our dining room table. It's a little more challenging to get things done but it is a nice view! :)

Did Kathy Smith’s Total Body Lift DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Weight Loss Pilates DVD.

Well, Jess left Iowa around 8:30 her time (she’s an hour behind us). The GPS says she should be here at 11:30, but, of course, that doesn’t include stops to buy gas, get something to eat, etc. If she can’t make it thru the night, she’ll let us know. I know that she’d prefer not to have to pay for a hotel.

Betsy in WA – I’m so so sorry for your sister

Made some chocolate bran muffins. Just waiting for them to cool and I’ll cut them in half.

Barbie – you take 2 rolls of crescent rolls (I only need 1-1/2). Arrange the triangles with the widest part in the center overlapped. Put the filling in the center of the triangles (12oz spinach <one small box – that might only be 10oz, that works>, 8 oz of cream cheese, 1/2t onion powder, 1t Italian seasoning, ½ cup parm cheese, 1 cup mozz cheese. I added a bit of milk just to make it so that you can use the beater. Put the filling over the points then roll them up. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes. I put this on a sheet of parchment paper to bake. Then for the “ribbon” I cut two small pieces of red pepper and used grape tomatoes. I got them to stick on the “wreath” by using a bit of Laughing Cow cheese as the “glue”

Barbara – you reminded me that I need to put this chocolate wine on my shopping list. I had some at a friend’s house to try and was it ever chocolatey. I’m sure Vince will like it. So I want to get a bottle for Christmas (the Jan 5 one). Some of the people who will be here Christmas Eve have already had it, but the people coming Christmas haven’t

We have a Christmas party to go to tonight. Interesting…it’s an “annual” party but this is the first time we’ve been invited….lol We’ll go but probably leave early. I’ll take some cookies and I made these sausage cheese balls only I didn’t realize that the biscuit mix was gluten free. Well, I remember there was someone in the neighborhood who needed gluten free. Don’t know if they’re still in the neighborhood or if they’re invited. But I’ll bring them anyway. The rest I’ll give to Lynette for her dad who needs things gluten free.

Is this the way for everyone? When I click on “breakfast” to log my food, I get a list of all the foods I’ve ever had recently. Yet, when I click on “lunch or dinner or snacks” I only get a list of the foods I’ve ever used for those meals. Only thing is, sometimes I have a certain food (like an apple) for a snack or for lunch or even with dinner. This is a royal pain in the back side.

Another things – all day today when I click on my home page, I only get this message to add friends and then it’s all white. What gives?

Went to the Christmas party at our neighbor’s. There was VERY little decent (to me, anyway) to eat. I had some shrimp, wasn’t at all crazy about the cheese, the only vege was celery and peppers. Lots of bacon-wrapped this and that. Before I could get to them, the stuffed mushrooms were GONE. So, unfortunately, I wound up eating cookies, candy and nuts. But I did only drink water…..

    Oh, well,

Vince just spoke to Jess. She should be here in a few. She said she’s really tired. She must have been really hauling a** to get here so fast.
