Question: When you click on a posters ID tag, you get all these "badges" with numbers on them. What is that all about?

Did my 5k! o:):D Strangely there were a lot of 'mature' women out running. Maybe because they think they will be locked in the kitchen for the next two days.
Beautiful day. :D Even a kite surfer out on the water!
I had my music on for the first time in ages. Loved it. Used my bluetooth earbuds. Enacfire, from Amazon.

Recorded White Christmas to watch tonight.

May your days be merry and bright..... :D

Carol in GA: I’ve never tried to find out about the badges because I am not interested in “earning’ a badge. I suspect Barbiecat is right about people who are worried about the number of “likes” they get on social media. I like this group and am not interested in competition to see how many “likes” I get on facebook. I have been frustrated by facebook over the years and rarely visit now. :ohwell:

Heather: Beautiful photo of you and the grands with Father Christmas. That photo should be duplicated for their parents and enjoyed year after year.

RV Rita: I hope your digestive system settles down and you are able to choose foods that won’t upset it. A visit with a doctor who specializes in digestive issues might be of help. The one my DH was referred to was very helpful to him. :flowerforyou:

Megblair: Kickboxing! I hope you have so much fun that you’ll want to do it often and tell us all about it.

Michele: It sounds like you went to an excellent doctor to get help with your cough. I hope you feel better each day. :star:

I bought diesel for my car and groceries today. Now I’m ready to sit down and read a good book. I am enjoying the one that I checked out from Library to Go. Our local library is offering this opportunity to its customers. The check-out system is managed online by amazon and quite a large number of libraries participate. Many of you may already be familiar with it. This is the second book I’ve read by this author.

We are having a rash of purse snatchings in our area. Yesterday I was turning left when a young man was running up the street in the wrong direction in my lane I had all I could not to hit and him and not get hit by the car behind me. He was dressed in a grey hoodie and carrying a black purse. I don't know if he got caught.

They are recommending here not to carry a large purse and keep your purse under your coat or only carry what you need for shopping in your pocket. Also watch as you put your bags into your trunk. If you see anything suspcious take effasive action.

They are targeting women over 50 who are shopping alone. If they use a car the cars are stolen.

Another tactic is they work in pairs and one of the pairs will do something to distract you, and they other will steal your wallet or purse. This can also happen at ATM's.

Be aware and stay safe my friends.

I rarely carry a purse. I do have a couple a very small ones for summer because my clothes don't have pockets. But in winter, I use the pockets of my jackets.

I do, however, carry a backpack to and from work!! And I really need to empty some stuff out of it.

Janet I remember your dear sister passing. I am honored to share her birthday (and anniversary). My older sister just returned from Antarctica and mentioned being sick. I felt a stab as I thought I don’t know what I will do if she passes before me. She has always been such a rock in my life!

Karen What is your partner’s name? Hate having to call her Partner…lol. Anyway, glad she did so well in surgery. Imagine the recovery will be quite gruesome with her pointed toe. It will be tough getting around even with the scooter! Although they are quite nice – had one for my last foot reconstruction. The medication error is sad! You’d think there would be a double and triple check on things like that!

Sue I can’t imagine how hard it was to write your Christmas letter! Your Sound of Music choir party sounds like fun!

Allie Hope your brother’s detached retina repair is successful! I’ve heard that is awful.

Heather Anxious to hear if you are on the show. You certainly look and sound like you would be great in that situation. My first husband was in many TV commercials and I remember how much they had to go “over the top” to make things look normal when they were acting. I don’t know how it works these days with new technology.

Machka Your gardens look great! It’s strange to think you are having warm weather and it is getting cold here.

Kate Spain sounds like fun! Sorry you didn’t sleep well before the trip!

Pip Thank you for the bday wishes 😊 Dear sweet memories of Christmas past with your doggies!

Barbie Hope you had a great time at your dance party! I’m like you with the treats…must abstain or might have more than I should.

Rita So sorry you are having such a rough time. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Tina Glad there were no heart issues, but still concerned for your DH. Hoping diving decisions are well made and you both enjoy the trip!

Machka Congrats on the kg loss!!! Sorry you are having pain from the biopsy. I’m not surprised though. I had a punch taken from the back of my shoulder (without telling me before taking it) and had to play a concert that evening. I only made it through until the intermission the pain became so intense. Mine was only 2 stitches, but the depth made it very sore.

Hope everyone is safe in the storms…especially if you are travelling! Saw the news tonight and was shocked at the amount of flooding and accidents!

All those with difficult families - I mentioned before, we had less than an ideal situation with incest, prescription drug use, and manic depression…it’s a shame that it must be so hard on individuals. My path was to forgive for my own sake. I couldn’t deal with the pain of the negative feelings. It’s interesting how we all deal with things differently, and what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for another. I hope All can enjoy the holidays and are able to be happy with whatever they do! This will be an unusual Christmas for us since none of the children will be here, I doubt our local children will feel up to anything with new Baby, and all the relatives were just together in November for the wedding. We will all be getting together in Florida next summer which feels very far away now. Maybe we can go somewhere and look at lights while listening to seasonal music!

Still catching up! Need to rest now... <3 Luci in WNC

Heather: Congrats on your 5K!!! :flowerforyou: Mature women are amazing—and you are a shining :star:

LuciBThinner: What a beautiful baby! Best Christmas season gift, ever!

(((Rebecca))): So sorry that you fell in the driveway and got hurt. I hope you heal quickly. :flowerforyou:

Today started with riding a stationary bike and yoga at the Sports Center. I enjoyed the yoga very much. We usually have a mix of men and women, but only the ladies showed up for class today. One of the women who has been missing from yoga for a few months stopped in today and we had a good chat. In the past, each of us was involved in boating and we knew several of the same people. We didn't meet each other until we started taking the same yoga class a few years ago. She has had some health issues to deal with recently and has decided to try chair yoga. There is a chair yoga class in our town, and DH loves what it is doing for him. There is another chair yoga class in the neighboring town. My friend has friends who take chair yoga in the neighboring town and she will go there. I hope she gets as much value from her class as my husband gets from his.

Katla - The woman in the photo is the elf! Not me, I'm afraid. DDIL sent me the photo. It was taken just before Edie came over for her 1 to 1. The family go every year and it's the same Santa. The helpers put on a great show with a story teller before hand in period costume. We went last year and the story teller was pretending to be a house maid with a rat in her hair! It's in Preston Manor, an original manor house which used to own acres of land in Brighton. The rooms are all set out as they would have been.

Luci - How wonderful! Many, many CONGRATULATIONS!!! :drinker: <3

    Rebecca- Ouch! <3

Badges: Not on here for badges. I'm sure the people who lost their newsfeeds this week are 'delighted' that with this 'wonderful' new feature.
