Holiday greetings to one and all.

Rebecca – Sorry to hear about your fall. Hopefully you are on the mend.
Margaret – It is shameful people take advantage of others during this time of year. From breaking in to cars to purse snatchers. I dare one to attempt to take my purse because I certainly will kick their b-tt! It’s our new reality – we must be aware at all times regardless of the season.
Heather – I love the picture of the grands with Saint Nick. What a lovely tradition.
Karen – It has been some time since I made biscotti. Yours look perfect and will be great with coffee or a cup of tea.
Carol – I continue to be amazed by the people at the company. We have more than tripled in size and the sales staff continues the gift card tradition.
Getting Fuel, Purses, and General Safety – Rant….
My purse is always on the floor of my car. My phone is within easy reach. When I fuel up my card is in my hand and so are my keys. When I get in and out of the car the doors are locked, always. When traveling I carry a cross-over bag which is placed around me prior to getting out of my locked vehicle and usually under a jacket. When out shopping, especially in the bigger malls and larger shopping complexes, I do not over-dress nor do I wear my expensive jewelry.
And, I will state it again, I may be “middle-aged” but let someone mess with me. I walk with a “city” attitude – remember it’s the jungle – the weak are the ones targeted. Can everyone tell I was a “big city gal”? I also avoid walking in to any store when I see a Brinker truck (money pick up) parked in front. I do not walk or exercise with ear buds; nor am I staring at my phone.
While at large public gatherings and/or restaurants I make sure I am facing the majority of the crowd and while walking through any area take note of the exit doors. When I am seated I make sure I look for things I can use as a weapon (chair, object, etc.) and take note of something I can dive under if someone were to start shooting.
This may all sound a little paranoid, but these are things I have developed and refined over the years and all are second nature. I really do not think about it as I am doing it. Most of my life I have been out and about or traveling by myself so I must rely upon me. I am also fortunate because I am a “blender”. I typically can fit in to any neighborhood and/or social setting having experienced most.
I will say attitude is the most important. You are not going to be targeted if you seem sure of yourself and your surroundings. Even if lost appear to know where you are and find a safe place to get your bearings. Most criminals want ease – they do not target who they believe to be a fighter, unless they are really sick and that is a different topic.
Bananas – Good to trust your instincts on the “guy”. It’s good for us to use our “spidey sense”.
KJ – Thank you for sharing your story. It brought tears to my eyes.
Linda – Oh, the thought of sweet potato pie. Your mac and cheese looks delectable! I can almost smell it.
Barbara – Isn’t it amazing what natural water can do for our moods. I read it has something to do with the ions in the water.
Katla – Glad to hear your old friend is doing well. It’s amazing what time and a change of scenery can do for someone. And, like you, I used to be an on/off acrylic nail person and now just enjoy a pedicure which I either do for myself or go out and get when I feel like “springing” for one.
    Lisa – Enjoy the nesting!
Sue – The mouse story cracked me up. Here in FL we have little lizards that get in and Smokey the cat can wake up from a sound sleep when he hears one. I typically attempt to catch and release too, but am not always successful.
Cheri – How wonderful to have both of your children home this year!
Luci – I am very fortunate to have no health issues which is why I think I am losing at the rate that I am. I think 44 pounds is impressive! You’re almost at 75% to goal!! WTG!

I am thinking about baking some cookies to give as gifts at dinner tonight. I purposely have waited until the last minute so I will not be tempted. I am looking forward to breaking bread with the group this evening. It should be a great evening.
Hugs to all and prayers to those in need.

Did a Core Secrets Full Body Challenge DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do an ASAP Sculpt DVD.

Sue WA – one time a cat we had brought a rabbit into the house. Only thing is he went behind the buffet and died, but we didn’t know it until it started to smell. There was this HORRIBLE smell and nothing I did got rid of it. That is….until we found the rabbit. He probably died of heart failure….lol

Katla – I found out that the other woman who was going to be here is allergic to cats. Wish I’d have known that. I don’t know how severe her allergy is, we could have put them into the bedroom. I’ll have to ask her next time I see her. Believe it or not, Vince has a moderate allergy to cats. They only sleep on him, we’ve had cats for over 20 years, but that’s what the allergy test revealed

Have a rib eye for Vince to grill for Jess, Colby and him. I’ll have one of the Beyond Burgers because I’m not a big red meat eater.

Merry Christmas everyone. I’m going to try posting pics of our trees.

The cat tree, Frosty Friends tree, the kitchen tree, the main tree, the Peanuts and Disney tree, the Star Trek tree, the Star Wars tree, and the Star Wars wreath

Rori: Fabulous photo of the three of you. I see a family resemblance between you and your brother. Good looks seem to run in your family. Merry Christmas!

    Allie: Merry Christmas. :star:

Heather: I love the photos, and can’t pick a favorite. They’re all wonderful

We’re having a quiet day at home, enjoying our view. There is a sailboat aground across the river from us in Washington. The water level is WAAAAY down and the boat is lying on its side. I hope its people are able to come back and rescue it when the tide rises. Columbia River water levels are affected by tides here and this morning there a very low tide.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate.

    Thanks Cheri! Done!
Machka the pic of you as an early cyclist made me smile. Your passion has deep roots!
    Irish Terri ❤ your poem.
Michele thanks for sharing pics of your trees. I’m intrigued by the skirt under the Star Wars tree, does it light up?
Rori, precious selfie ❤. Mars looks just right alongside the Nativity!
Heather your DH’s shirt cracked me up!

Beautiful sunny but crisp day outside, of course. Would love to walk Tumble with Joe and Shadow but this cold has me down. Really want to throw it off by Friday, going through Zicam like there’s no tomorrow. Won’t update stats or “to do’s” until I feel better.

Time for another aspirin and nap.
    Lighter, lovelies!

Had a wonderful lunch with son's family, husband's brother-in-law, and my daughter-in-law's mom. Daughter-in-law's mom furnished a beef tenderloin which my son grilled and he followed with Mediterranean style red potatoes and an assortment of roasted vegetables. My contribution was an assortment of before lunch nibbles, a green salad, croissants, and a chocolate cream pie. So full and will get back on track tomorrow. :)

Glad to see the photos everyone is sharing and the events of their day!
