Morning all! Happy Sunday! I didn't do my normal shop and errand running yesterday. Instead I just laid low, did a little housework (laundry, dishes, dust and sweep) and that was all. This cold is still making me very fuzzy headed; or perhaps it is more the lack of sleep due to the cold is making me fuzzy headed. Anyway, I will do my shop this morning and prep for my only childcare day (tomorrow); then I am off for a week (until the 2nd of January)!
    Luci- Happy belated birthday!
Pip- How did the rainy walk go? Love the ornaments! What a cool idea!
Machka- Your to-do list goals sound perfect! Sit, sit in the garden, sit and read in the garden...etc. I like your new profile pic; you look like you are soaking up as much sun as possible!
Rebecca- That Athena! What a smile!
SuziQ- I don't understand the WW1 and WW2 part of your graph. What do those columns mean?
Michele- Your wreath offering looks yummy; and how wonderful that Jess is on her way (probably there by now?)
Katla- Your live Christmas tree has me thinking of my brother in law. He always gets a live tree so that he can plant it outside (or donate it to a local park to be planted there), but he places his potted tree on a wheeled base, so that he can just wheel it through his house and put it where he wants. I found that quite clever.
Barbara- I also go with an outer waterproof "shell" and then layer my clothes under that. I usually wear a baseball cap then pull the hood over that. The cap helps keep the hood covering my head. I don't listen to music while I walk outside. If I am on the treadmill, I do. When I was running daily, I used the music though. I think I needed it to keep me from quitting. lol
Betsy- So sorry to hear the news of your sister! Sending prayers/vibes of strength and healing for her (strength and peace to you)

Love and hugs to all of you! Time for me to get things done. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

rainy walk w/yogi was wet from start to end. I walked in hiking boots. big mistake. yogi and I had rain coats on. I had a speaker that played Christmas music all day. after I got home as time wore on, my legs (not my quadriceps or hamstrings) felt fine but the lower part of my legs were starting to feel the pain and I still had to do laundry when I got home. my legs felt worse on that 10 mi walk w/hiking boots than a 10mile run in my monkey feet. goes to show how important good shoes are.

Does anyone know what happened to the news feed?

No sure but mine is out and several of my friends also.

Went into Tech Support. They are aware of the problem and they are working on it.

    Hooray!!! Got my newsfeed back.

Rita: My husband was having all sorts of trouble with digestion problems and went to a doctor who specializes in digestive problems. He was put on a FODMAP Diet. It was originally developed in Australia. At the moment I don’t remember what each letter stands for, but we barreled into it. We looked on the web and downloaded what amounts to a cookbook with advice included. He is doing much better than before. The big idea is that DH is allergic to gluten. It might be worth your while to talk to your doctor about it, and/or look at the site on the net. Congrats to your brilliant Grand Santa.

Heather: I hope your stepdaughter finds her way to your house without too much trouble. :flowerforyou:

Annie in Delaware: This is a tough time of year to begin a diet because there are so many more temptations out there than usual and the weather isn’t always easy. This is the time you've chosen to start, and it may be your very best Christmas gift to yourself. Count calories—every bite and swallow. Measure portion sizes. Forgive yourself when you go over by doing an active exercise to burn it off. Walking works, as does yoga, bicycling, swimming. . . If you like the exercise you choose, it will be more likely that you’ll do it more often. Good luck! :star:

We’re done with putting up decorations and lights for this year. I love the way we were able to work together to get things done and the outcome is pleasing. We’ll start putting things away after New Years Day. The house is great, but the garage is another story. All the stuff that is there could easily fill a truck. We brought it down from the attic and it will have to be hoisted back up there. :ohwell:

Watching he Rose Parade is one of my personal pleasures. I'm looking forward to it. My favorite TV station to see the Rose Parade is RFD TV. They did a great job with horse related entries in the parade last year and were also good about showing the high school marching bands. There were only a few breaks for commercials of any kind. The station generally broadcasts things related to farming and agriculture. I am not a farmer, but I love seeing the shows about horses and enjoy learning a bit. The other nice thing to watch will be the Rose Bowl in January. My college team will be playing. Go DUCKS!

M – but if you made a meal of, say, flounder, veges, and an apple, but I only have the apple, that wouldn’t work
    Michele in NC

If you select All Meals, it just means you'll get food from Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks or whatever meal categories you've set up.

This is my Food page. I have chosen to divide my day into four meal categories called Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks. You can choose your own categories.

I click Add Foods under Breakfast and this is what I see. Notice that the Recent tab is selected. I rarely go to the other tabs. See the dropdown arrow next to the word Breakfast? Click that and you'll have the choice of just your Breakfast foods or foods from all the meal categories.

I've clicked All Meals and see the difference? The image above showed my Breakfast items whereas this shows what appears in all my meal categories.

So apple, as you mention, does not show up in Breakfast, but it is in one of my other meal categories (Snacks, actually) and when I clicked All Meals, it appears available for me to select for Breakfast if I happen to decide I want an apple for Breakfast.

    :)

Question: For those of you who do IF, do you log your calories during your time to eat?

    Carol in GA

I kind of accidentally do IF, and when I'm on a mission to lose weight, I log my calories. It would be so easy for me to go over my calories in the 10 or 12 hours that I eat each day.

Lynette, Forgot to answer.....yes very close to initial goal. Only 7 pounds to go. I'm finally at a healthy BMI, albeit on the higher side. My plan is to see how I look and feel when I hit goal and may either maintain or lose just a little bit more. :)

Yesterday evening went really well in the end. :) She arrived in a lather, but was able to calm down and, I'm pleased to say, really enjoyed all the Middle Eastern food I'd chosen for her. DH was very happy. When we went to bed he said it was a wonderful day - just what he needed. :D<3
He is out right now walking along the seafront with her in the sunshine B) on the way back to the train station. I'm going to get a few minutes of writing under my belt. I hope to run this pm. Little bit of shopping to do, but no panic for that. Maybe tomorrow.
I'm pleased he enjoyed himself with Edie and Becky. He said yesterday that he finally thinks he ought to see the doctor about his back. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all ... I am relieved to hear the good news too. :)

Today's big accomplishment was making a pavlova. :) We'll have it tomorrow (Christmas Eve).

Otherwise, I don't feel like I did much. I did do laundry, go for a short walk, process and post a few more photos, rip another CD, purchase presents for my parents and brother (online), and sort out some of my emails, but that's about it.

And yet I feel tired. I suppose it's all the recovery process. Recovery from another very busy year and from the biopsy.

About photos ... I've added some of our apples to the Tasmanian Summer album:

I'm going to drink my chamomile tea while listening to selections from the Nutcracker Suite and then go to bed and read my book for a bit. :)

Did Sunday: church, organized firehall paperwork/started board mtg minutes, baked crescents, found forgotten cookies recipe, but had 3 glasses of wine not two. Today: wrap Joe’s present, make tuna salad, wrap Lois’ ornaments, take Tumble to groomer, drop off Tracie’s GF cookies/Lois’ ornaments/thrift store donation, pack and mail Mariah’s goodies, finish minutes. Tomorrow: bake forgotten cookies, print firehall stuff and drop off.

Barbie, Lanette, Kim and Katla thanks for the recommendations. There’s a Big 5 Sporting Goods in Crescent City, will see what they have, and maybe try Tractor Supply too. KJ thanks for the baseball cap under hood tip, might solve my hood-hanging-down-over-eyes problem. ;) Won’t shop ‘til after Christmas, too crazy out there!
Lanette sorry to confuse. PC guy is finding a good used Dell, putting a solid state HD into it, installing Win10 and all the stuff he backed up from my old laptop, whose hard drive is failing. Won’t get it 'til after Christmas so stumbling along with Joe’s. Gonna have to add my printer to Joe’s laptop. Want to temporarily disable wireless on Joe’s laptop so can connect via ethernet for banking and one last Amazon order (superstitious about having wireless active when doing financial stuff… ;> ).
So, pip, are you wrapped up as a gift for Kirby?
    Machka hooray for benign!
Welcome back tekavincent. Healing and strength to you.

    Just skimmin’, gettin’ sleepy.
